With one orb in his grasp it seemed as though it was going to be smooth sailing from then on out, one of those assumptions that basically came back to bite the poor Merkein in the backside fairly quickly as it seemed the dragons kind of dried up. He continued to hunt and hunt but wasn't really having much in the way of luck when it came to actually finding one. There were footprints here and there, he would catch the faint scent of them, but thus far he hadn't quite been able to find what it was that he was hunting. It was something that kind of grated on the Merkein as he wanted to find more the roaming Kiandri so that he would at least be able to have a shot at defeating them and gathering their orbs. He was having no such luck though, making him think that the Kiandri were starting avoid him. It was a possibility that he didn't want to consider though, not wanting to think that the electric based dragons would actually hide from him since it was such an annoying prospect. Instead he would just continue on with his hunting until he finally found something!
It took until the next morning, with Tallulah taking a break when it got dark to rest up, before he finally spotted a pair of Kiandri in the distance. It was the closest that he'd gotten to them for a while but still they were at too great a distance for him to be able to cover it on foot. He could attempt to sneak along after them, hope that they didn't see or smell him, but he was at a distinct disadvantage given his coloration, his lack of wings, the fact that he wasn't as good on land as he was in the water. So many things that seemed to be against him but that didn't meant that he was going to give up! He was going to continue to follow the Kiandri in hopes that they did something to screw up, to open themselves up to attack, and then he would see about finishing them off in one fell swoop... so to speak. Hard to swoop when one didn't have wings he thought to himself as he trotted forward toward the Kiandri, slowly closing the distance between himself and his yellow colored prey.
It was as he started to get a bit closer to them though that inevitable happened, the two of them opened up their large wings and took to the air, flying away from the Merkein. It didn't take long before the pair were out of sight and Tallulah gave a huffing sound, "Well, that wasn't very nice." He muttered in displeasure. The last thing that he wanted was for them to fly off in such a manner, especially when he was almost certain they hadn't seen him. Likely they were just leaving to go hunting or something. The fact that they didn't even notice him, didn't see him as a threat, weren't running from him, was quite a bother, but he couldn't let that get him down. If he returned to Eyphah with only one orb in tow the Diabi was sure to be disappointed in him. It was something that he couldn't allow and as such he would just have to continue the hunt until he found more prey and took it down! He couldn't allow himself to loose heart, not when he knew that somewhere out there in the expanse of sand that was Eowyn that Eyphah was likely tormenting all sorts of dragons. He could only wonder what sorts it was that he was hunting. It was something that he was more then a little curious about for certain. He supposed he'd see once they met up again at the end of their week of solo hunts.
