After the first aerial battle that he'd had with the Firani he decided that he wanted to try that again! It was so much better then the ambush which had just left him with a mouthful of hot sand, definitely not his finest moment... he would likely not be telling anyone, especially not Tallulah given that the Merkein seemed to think him all powerful. Best that he leave out any mistakes that he made so as to continue to look good in that one's eyes. As such he needed to find and gather some orbs so that he had something worth bringing back to show off to the Merkein he thought to himself as he moved along, using the air currents to get him higher and higher into the air, something that allowed him to better survey the sandy expanses of Eowyn until he finally spotted what it was that he was searching for. It was one of his 'his' Firani along with a second one that wasn't his yet but would be soon enough. The first one bore the scars from one of his attacks, deep wounds that made the Diabi rather gleeful upon seeing them. That was the one he was going to focus on, then he'd go after the other one if it was still around, though he doubted it would stick around, they rarely did it would seem.
Eyphah flapped his wings to get up higher into the air before closing his wings, allowing himself to go into a dive bomb, falling straight down toward the unsuspecting and stupid dragon. The moment he was about to hit he opened his wings, slowing himself down somewhat, but still had enough momentum going that he would crash into the creature. Much to his delight he heard a nasty 'crunch' sound that was the sound of the Firani's wing snapping and the two of them were soon heading toward the ground at a rapid rate of speed. The Diabi didn't give up though, not yet, continuing to bite and claw at the one that was his target, wanting to get in as much damage as he could before pushing off the dragon at the last moment, leaving it to crash into the ground. There was a moment where sand seemed to obscure everything, making it impossible to see what had happened, but when things finally cleared he was able to see the massive crater in the ground and there in the center of it all was the glittering Firani orb. It was the most wonderfully violent scene that he'd ever seen, save for the aftermath of the battle that he and Tallulah had against the five Firani. There was a long moment where he starred down happily at his handiwork before he started down toward his orb in lazy circles.
After landing easily on the ground he trotted down into the sandy crater, scooping up his orb, admiring it, "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes. I was starting to think that these scaly bastards were never going to let me get my claws on another of you." To think that the lot of them kept running away and denying him these orbs. At least the dry spell was over and now he had another of them in his clutches. Now all he had to do was get a whole bunch more of them so that he didn't end up going back to Tallulah with only one orb, that was most certainly no way to continue to impress the Merkein. No, he would need numerous orbs if he was wanting to do that which meant a whole lot of hard work on the part of the Diabi, hard work that started now.
