Jacinthus's Speed Roll
13 + 8 = 21
Jacinthus was preparing himself for what would be another in a long line of battles, checking his blunted, blue dye tipped arrows as he headed into the arena. His last battle was a tough one on many levels due to his opponent being his sister. Now he was preparing for yet another battle, curious to see who it was that he was going to be facing off with. For the moment all he knew was the name from the brackets, Zuri, and he wouldn't know until Zuri arrived what sort of strategy would be needed. Either way though he was feeling eager to get things underway.

She was more then pumped for her next battle. Biroki had lost his last one, so it was up to her to make him proud. As she walked into the arena she looked over at her opponent. He looked strong, but that was good. She wanted a good battle, not to just win by luck or because the battle wasn't evenly matched. She wanted to win because of her battle skill. She smiled at Jacinthus and looked at his bow. That was going to be interesting.

Jacinthus look toward the one that had joined him in the arena, giving her a nod, before he reached down toward his quiver, scooping up one of the blunted arrows and notched it. Now was the time to begin he thought to himself as he lifted his bow up, took careful aim, and the moment the whistle sounded, starting the match, he sent the blue dye dipped arrow flying toward the spear wielding girl...

When Jacinthus nodded she nodded back. So he wasn't a talker, that wasn't really an issue with her. She watched as he loaded his arrow and then sent it flying towards her. She tried to get out of the while running towards him to attack, however it struck her in the thigh and cut her much deeper then she thought. While she tried to get towards him for an attack she was unable due to the pain. Well she wanted an even matched fight, but it seemed like this one was in his favor!

Jacinthus was quick to dance backwards to prepare another attack against the woman before him but perhaps he was too excited over that first shot that he made that he missed. The second arrow that he sent flying toward the girl instead went flying over her shoulder, making he give a little grumble to himself before he reached for the next arrow, preparing himself for his next attack.

Nott another arrow, Zuri moved as quickly as possible and was relieved to see the arrow went flying over her shoulder. She got lucky. She contuined towards him and struck out with her spear, hoping to damage him as much as he had her with his first chance. Hopefully this would work and she would even out the match.

Jacin attempts a dodge.

Jacinthus could tell by the way that the warrior woman was moving that she meant business and that being hit by one of her attacks wasn't going to be a good thing at all. As he slid out of the way he could feel the wind coming off of the woman's spear, something that proved to him exactly how much power was behind the blow. He gave a sighing sound of relief before agility bouncing backwards away from her, reaching for another of his dye tipped arrows, and took aim. Once he was sure of the shot he sent it flying her way.

Really! She was so sure of that last attack, and had it hit him maybe it could have evened the odds. But he had avoided her attack... Not only that but he also landed another arrow, this time at her side. Thankfully it wasn't as strong as the one before it but still! More attacks like that and she would be done with for sure. All of these thought caused her to miss him once again with her spear. What was wrong with her!

Jacinthus continued to move along, not wanting to make himself an easy target due to being able to feel the power behind each of his opponent's attacks. He reached down into his quiver to drawing forth another of his arrows, notching it, and waited for the right moment to send it flying toward the girl before him. Things were going well thus far but he meant to keep his guard up, just in case.

This was becoming more then infuriating. Why couldn't she hit him?! She had never in her history of battles done this bad. Once again she tried to avoid his attack and it hit her, and to make matters worse when she went to attack him she had stumbled and cut herself with her lance! This couldn't be happening to her. She readied herself for one more attack, because if she couldn't turn it around this time then she knew she would be done for.

Jacinthus gave a little wince when the girl before him slipped, hurting herself, and he opened his mouth, about to ask if she was going to be alright... but then closed it. He'd check up on her after the battle, would make sure she was alright, help her to a Healer if needs be, but not now. He knew from his scuffles with Little Kei that if he let his guard down that he could very well be flattened. Once the match was over and the weapons had been put away he would make sure that the girl was okay.
With that thought in mind he reached for another of his blunted arrows, took aim, and sent it flying toward his opponent once more.
