It was painful. He could especially recall a part of how he felt when he found...
He blinked. Wait. What had happened in the Haunted house that day? He recalled fighting for days, trying to find a way to Mitsu. He remembered trying to get a hold of Candace so that he could kill her. But then... the next thing he could recall regarding that was him practically bleeding out and limping towards the horsemen reserves for help. Something was missing there.
Frowning lightly, as he stood there, he realized that things might not really be completely normal. Mitsu had given something up. He didn't know what. And he supposed it was completely possible that others had done something similar as well.
Who do you think you are?
A voice.
The reaper stilled as he looked around warily. He didn't see anyone around.
Look at your shadow.
Slowly, he complied, doing just that. His shadow had taken form, but it wasn't his own shadow. It didn't seem to be anything particularly extraordinary at first glance.
"Your have forgotten something. Memories. I borrowed those from you and now you have my word I will return them. Take these memories and use remember their blessing. As long as you remember your path as a hero, I will be there."
Shun pushed himself away from the tree. He let out a scoff as the shadow said something about him remembering his path as a hero. A hero. Him. Yeah right. Sure, he had done his part to help keep things from going to s**t, but he hardly considered himself to be a hero of all things. He merely did what was needed. Nothing more. Nothing less. If he hadn't, he would have lost everything. And that was unacceptable.
He shook his head. The shadow shifted back to normal, though he soon realized there was something a bit different. Raising a hand to his throat, he felt a choker chain there. No. It was a couple chains, really. At the front of it, was a lock. He couldn't see it, but that's what it felt like. He could also feel somethings engraved into it, but couldn't tell just what those were right now.
he muttered under his breath.
