Kensei is very mild mannered and generally silent, reserving his opinions only for topics he deems relevant, which can come across as rude to some. Additionally, his blunt manner of speech often causes others to feel provoked or overly aggressive towards him. This could be an unconscious action on Kensei's part considering in battle he is conditioned to forcing the opponent into the offensive in order to counter, however, the same rules don't apply in discourse.

Kensei Hiroshi, the eldest son of Nopperabō and Otsu Hiroshi and brother to Natsuhi Hiroshi lived a diligent and harshly regulated life. A child of convenience, Kensei was conceived only as a means of sealing his father, Nopperabō's ties to the Hiroshi noble lineage. Kensei was forced to live in the large shadow cast by his father, who himself was shrouded in mystery. Having never actually been seen by anyone other than Jousake himself, any speculation of Nopperabō's physical appearance stems from Kensei. Oddly enough, many saw him as a means to understanding his father.
Being the son of a master swordsman left him under great scrutiny and pressure to perform. Fortunately for Kensei, his aptitude with the sword was otherworldly, from an early age he was able to defeat many trained swordsman with ease. As a fighter he was quick to adapt and process any situation in battle, Kensei had the makings of a natural tactician. Presumably, these fiercely warrior like qualities were inherited from the father, but the most effective gift bestowed up Kensei comes from the mother. Otsu was a woman revered not for her fighting prowess or spiritual strength, but for her piercing eyes, because of this Kensei is one of few beings to possess 20/2 vision, which quite literally equates to the eyes of a hawk.
Soon Kensei had distinguished himself as a swordsman, but most of all as his own person, he was no longer simply seen as the son of Nopperabō. However, he was far from freeing himself from the shadows that bound him, in a rare occurrence his father decided to attend a sparring session at the Hiroshi dojo. It was on that day Kensei realized the gap between the apprentice and the master, tossed like an insect in his fathers wake, he was powerless.
For Kensei the only way to rid himself of the shadow that lurked over him was the cut down the source. As a means to gain equal footing in the power struggle between he and his father, Kensei sought guidance at the Spiritual Arts Academy.
As a Hiroshi noble, he was leaps and bounds ahead of any of the students, and quickly distinguished himself among his classmates. Upon early graduation and against the suggestions of others for someone of his skill to join the eleventh or twelfth squads, Kensei opted for the fourth, the healing division. But more than that it was the division led by the one man to see the face of Nopperabō and the one man to garner the respect of his father, such a man must possess great strength, Kensei believed, possibly a strength that even overwhelmed that man.
Kensei's days in the Sword and Shield initiative however, gave him new perspective. He was bewildered by the strength of the captain and the strength of others, and taken aback by the realization of how vast the world is, how small he and even his father were. Most of all, he realized that there is a vast difference between those who seek to reach and those who seek to surpass. Wanting to emulate others for strength, is in itself a weakness. It was upon this realization that Kensei truly awakened his Zanpakutō, the embodiment of his power. He vowed to make his own strength, with this power and exceed all others.

- Character Hair Color: Kensei has snow white hair, that many attribute the fact that he was born during a snow storm.
- Character Hair Length/ Style Kensei wears his hair in no specific way, it grows naturally and at a certain point (a little over the ears) he'll cut it.

Kensei eye's resemble the crimson hue of freshly spilled blood, the depth of his gaze resembles his mothers but the glint of blood lust in his eyes can only have come from his father.
- Character Description:
Kensei has a slender yet athletic build, his size and muscle mass are not the least intimidating, but they provide his with just enough of a balance between strength and speed, no one quality to overbearing. Kensei has been fortunate enough never to have sustained any serious injuries or disfigurements, he maintains a scar-less body with no real signs of any battle wear and tear, because in reality the only true experience Kensei had was in the comfort of a dojo. Additionally, Kensei carries two swords, the primary being his very own Zanpakutō, while the second is a mere powerless Wakizashi worn basically as nothing more than a homage the traditional samurai that Kensei has taking a liking to emulate.

Kensei keeps his attire light, and sticks to loose fitting traditional samurai garb, as well as a headband that serves more as a fashion statement than anything with a functional purpose. Unlike most members of the clan the Hiroshi emblem is nowhere to be found on Kensei, who bears little actual attachment to his clan.

Amatsu Hatsugen sealed, is nearly indistinguishable from an average Katana, much like the blunt personality and interests of the wielder the Zanpakutō accepts and matches Kensei's resolve with her will to see Kensei's dream through. This resolve is reflecting in the sheer edge of the blade, sharp and unbending. Allowing the user to effortlessly cut most objects with surgical precision.

A seemingly harmless pair of glasses made of the concentrated spiritual pressure of the user, once materialized they are bound and become impossible to remove from the user as they are in essence his own spiritual energy given form. The glasses do not stem from the Zanpakutō but are made possible because of it, therefore the Zanpakutō remains unchanged upon Shikai activation.

Passive:
Amatsu Hatsugen gives Kensei an enhanced aptitude for comprehension on several levels. Upon taking an attack merely once, Kensei is able to break down an attacks strengths and weaknesses upon seeing it, whether he blocks it or is damaged by it, this only occurs after receiving the blow and reciting the simple phrase "I see now".
Passive:
Simply seeing and understanding an attack doesn't mean you will effectively be able to overpower it, without power. Amatsu Hatsugen however, reaches inside the mind to stimulate Kensei's mind, body, and spirit. Releasing the spiritual limiters in his soul and drastically increasing every aspect of his fighting ability, that is to begin with, frightening.
Amatsu Shuueki
Kensei's potential rises well above his rank within the influence of Amatsu Hatsugen, however, the leap from Lieutenant to Captain takes more than a simple boost, it requires focus.
Using the same methods by which Kensei is able to prematurely release his spiritual limiters to get a boost of spirit energy, through Amatsu Shuueki he is able to focus the power instead of spread it thin throughout his body. By focusing his Reiatsu on a single section of the body he is able to boost specific abilities to a level comparable even to a captain.
