Reading - With all the plans that are suddenly canceled, and no back up plans made, Bailey spends the time reading. It wasn't something she'd originally planned on doing, she used to hate reading, but while wandering the house alone (her parents had to go out and she was supposed to be at the mall) she picked up a random book and sat down to read and pass the time. It certainly passed the time! Since then books have become something of a comfort for her, she can always pick the book which best fits and mirrors her emotions and curl up somewhere to read for a while. If only people would get her gift cards for her birthday and the holidays so she could buy more books, though the new pompom's were nice.

Cheering: She's a cheerleader! She likes the thrill and it's a high that she treasures for the short amount of time it's there. The bright lights, the loud voices, the football game, all combined it's a high for her and a rush that she loves. It banishes, for the moment, the feelings that eat at her when she's on her own. It's a good escape and a much needed one. Because let's face it she spends how much time in school, at practice, and at gymnastics. It leaves less time for her to be home on her own or having to pull on a mask in front of her parents. It's more time for everything to be bottled up, and she doesn't like uncorking that bottle. But more than that it's a high like nothing else and it makes her feel good and she is good at this, she's a good flyer, and she's good at tumbling and she's flexible. She knows she's good at this and is proud of it even. She started this with her friends back in 7th grade when they were all 12 years old. So it's been a few years and over the past four years she has learned a lot.

Shopping: Bailey likes to go shopping. She might not spend like her cousin Alexandre, god she can't believe how much he can spend on a shopping trip, but she likes to shop just as much as he does. Bailey spends a lot on her clothing, what girl doesn't? But she spends no where near what he does. She likes simple jeans, nice fitting, and tank tops and other cute tops. Sandals are nice, even ones with heels, sneakers work and heels are really nice. She has a good amount of clothing and variety in her closet and has subscriptions to several clothing magazines, Victoria's Secret, Fredrick's of Hollywood, Venus Swimwear and fashion magazines as well. If only she and her cousin got along - they could spend all day shopping and never tire.


Virtues:

Forgiving: Bailey is the forgiving sort but not in the simple way that most people are. She doesn't just forgive mistakes she will, and has, forgiven her friends year after year after year as they forget her birthday or simply don't turn up for whatever party she had. She even forgave them last year for forgetting/ignoring/not being there for her sweet sixteen; it turned into an all family affair. She makes excuses for her parents not noticing how things upset her or for just not getting that there is more to it then "my friends canceled on going to the mall - something suddenly came up.". It's not that she wants to avoid the truth, she accepts the truth, she just doesn't want to let it eat at her and spoil things. She needs people in her life, humans are social beings, and so to keep people around her she will forever forgive them and suffer on her own. Even if by forgiving them she gives them all permission to continue all of this. She just doesn't want to loose her friends; and for her parents she's just afraid of them coddling her too much.

Good listener: Boyfriend left you? Parents simply don't understand? She'll listen and give simple advice, because often when your all upset by emotional things you don't think of the simple things. So this is something she does for those around her. She offers the simple advice and tries to calm her friends emotions and help them get a grasp on whatever situation they may be in, perhaps she's at times to voice of reason while at other times she's simply the calming voice in the storm. Most would wonder why she would do this for friends who neglect her but even if they don't put a lot into the friendship why shouldn't she? Maybe one day they'll notice and just...try and give a little more back to her? She doesn't hold out hope though it is an occasional thing she ponders.

Realistic: Those who are always optimistic simply don't live in the real world, or are lieing to themselves and others, Bailey refuses to do that. She may not give voice to these thoughts of hers but she does feel them. She can't act on them though, it wouldn't fit with her good., happy, perky cheerleader image now would it? Doesn't mean she doesn't want to act on them, of course she does! She likes to have back up plans for things and likes to know everything she can about a situation, wants to know every possibility so she can prepare for it. She doesn't want to hear that something is unlikely, or that the chances are so slim. She just wants to know that the chance is there so she is ready for it. With exams she makes sure to study even if she already knows everything, as she might just forget something, and she now always has new unread books in her room for whenever plans are canceled on her. She has lines memorized to feed to her friends no matter what problem they may come to her with. She

Flaws:

Doormat: Bailey is a doormat who anyone can walk on and even wipe their feet on. She's forgiving to the point of hurting herself emotionally. Why she does this she isn't sure, meaning she just hasn't thought about it. The reason is that she's got so much invested in her friends, so many good memories and such, that she's willing to forgive them even if it hurts her. She's willing to bottle up her emotions and continue on smiling and acting her "usual" happy self with them. She can't imagine loosing them, she needs people in her life, and at this point in her school life it would be utterly impossible to make new friends. Her social placement already firmly established how can she change things? As for her family...they are family - they won't leave her. But they can coddle her too much, more than she needs. And she doesn't want all the talks, the worry, the questions from them, and she doesn't want to break down in front of them. She just wants to get through this - but when will it end? She'll only wind up in university making more friends who will be just like the ones she has now.

Bottled up: Who says you can't always be happy and perky? Bailey certainly can! At least that's what people see. What people see and what is the truth are certainly different things in Bailey's case. At school and outside of the house she is a happy, perky, carefree teenager who's only cares in the world consist of a boyfriend, cheerleading, exams, what to wear, and OMG Did you hear about so and so! But the reality is a very different thing. Bailey, who allows herself to be walked all over knowingly, bottles up the hurt, sadness, and other negative feelings until she can privately let them out. This normally results in a tear stained pillow or the knees of her favorite pajamas being wet with tears. She doesn't go to her parents even, she doesn't want them to worry or become upset because their daughter is upset. However, sometimes it's just very hard to hide the hurt, depression, and other not so happy feelings. it's these times that Baily will use the excuse of being under some stress,be it school or cheerleading or some other made up story, to convince people that whatever is bothering her is something little and will pass - she just needs time. She's even had to use these lies, and fabricated stories, on her parents - something she's not proud of to be honest. But isn't that the whole point of little white lies? To save other peoples feelings? Not to mention it saves her from having to give up who people see her to be and uncork the bottle fully.

Untrusting: Over the course of years she's had her friends ignoring her birthdays, forgetting them, putting other things ahead of her. Her parents haven't somehow noticed how she really feels or what's really going on, they should notice!, and it's left her untrusting of people even if they swear, promise, and swear upon people graves and lives. She doesn't believe words as actions do speak louder to her than words ever will. But it isn't a simple matter of forgotten birthdays and feelings unnoticed which have caused this lack of trust in Bailey. Her friends ignore her in favor of doing things together, don't invite her to parties or gatherings, and later she finds out about all the good fun they've had via hearing them talking at school and hearing the private inside jokes which leave her absolutely clueless. As for her parents they don't read past her words, read her tone of voice or her eyes, when she tells them her friend(s) can't come over or they changed their plans on going to the mall or the movies.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Emerald green and nothing too round.

Hair:Blond hair, similar to her cousins actually. She's not much for accessories in her hair and has a rather prominent widows peak.

Face: no freckles or marks on her face. She's got rather fair skin and a heart shaped face. She also has a widows peak which is rather prominent.

Clothes: School uniform.

ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:

You have two names listed; what is the name in parentheses for? Not really a crit, just an "I'm curious."

In her Realistic virtue, you have a contradiction. XD " She may not give voice to these thoughts of hers but she does feel them and act on them. She can't act on them though, it wouldn't fit with her good., happy, perky cheerleader image now would it?" It says she does feel them and act on them, and then says she can't act on them -- which is it? Does she hide it or does she act on it? You also have a hanging "she" at the very end - was there meant to be another sentence there?

For her Bottled up flaw, how does this externalize? You say she hides away and only expressed her emotions privately - but does she ever accidentally blow up at people? Does it ever show, essentially? Flaws should be at least somewhat external, things people would dislike her for!

ON THE POWERED SIDE:

I feel that her Eternal attack doesn't really fit with her sphere of "Cleansing." The summoning of spirits and that they hinder and distract enemies both seem out of place; an expansion of her first and second attacks, for more time, would probably be more ideal!

I do have one suggestion for her Eternal attack (which might not work if you intend to corrupt her, but there it is)

Perhaps she can target a Chaos character, or more than one, and make them feel as if they're being forcibly cleansed of Chaos? It would hurt a lot as any interaction of Chaos and starseed does, for a certain amount of time (maybe 30 seconds) though it would only feel like a forcible purification, not actually be one, obviously!

I'm still a little concerned then, about her "bottled up" flaw, because if she only ever explodes rarely or in private then...it's not really something people would dislike about her. I see where it's negative for her personally, but flaws are usually something people can see and dislike about the character.

I actually dug up AIM longs and we'd talked about it before, and since the rest of the profile is good I think one flaw that's kinda internal should be okay!

So just a fixup for the Eternal attack (making it a painful cleansing of some sort) and you'll be good for a stamp!
