One of the first thing students do upon entering the academy is have a chip implanted in them. It does more than just track your every movement, as the headmaster explained. Now, since the students of the school are delinquents such things as, 'forbidding you from certain places' just doesn't work, they won't listen. So at the staircase to the next floor is a Chip Detector. Much like a metal detector, students pass through it and it scans your chip. If you are of the appropriate ranking, you are allowed to pass through if not the Chip Detector tazes them. If the student persists, the staff will be digitally noted and the student has a paralyzing drug entered into the blood system (it only lasts five minutes). By then, the student will have hopefully learned their lesson and can be dragged to the detention hall by their Guardian.
When your in town and having fun, time sure does fly by and it's easy to forgot about such silly things as curfews. Worry not! The chip can easily solve this. When five minutes remain the chip sends out an electric charge, which lightly shocks the student into remembering. Still want to forget? Well after ten minutes go by and the student still hasn't returned to campus, once again a paralyzing drug will be injected into the system and their Guardian can drag them back. They'll have detention the next day.
Note: All students have chips, there is no way around not having them.
