Part One: Heading Out

"I think that it's time that we go hunting." Eyphah said, lifting his head up, looking over at the Merkein that he had been traveling with. Up to this point, save for the first battle in which the Diabi had arrived to save Tallulah from a Kiandri, the Peisio had been on his own against the various dragons that he was told to hunt. To suddenly have the word 'we' associated with a hunt, that was new and different, and had the Merkein starring. It was as though Eyphah seemed to notice this and he couldn't help but to chuckle, "What? Did you think that I would be sitting out all of the battles forever? I think not. I want to hunt to, want to gather orbs, and I have taken a long, long break from doing so to help you out. As such this hunt is as much for me as it is for you." He was actually getting twitchy from the lack of hunting. He missed the fun of it, the excitement, as well as the taste of dragon's blood in his mouth and their meat in his belly. He had to get out there again or else he was going to die of bored, of this he was certain.

Shifting the way that he was sitting he continued, "If I am going along though we aren't going to be hunting the beasts one at a time, we are going at them as a group, we are going to make it a worthwhile and bloody fight, one worthy of two up and coming, powerhouses like themselves. He already had an idea where they were going, what they were gonna hunt, and how much fun they were going to have, "I was thinking at first that we were going to go and chase down some Kiandri, they are quite fun, not to mention delicious, but then another thought struck me. Why not the Firani? They run around in similar territory, they are stronger then the Kiandri, and they are something that I doubt I could take down on my own. With help though, help from you, the one I trained, I think that we would have an excellent chance against those fire belching monsters. What do you say?" He was actually sounding excited, his tail wagging behind him.

Tallulah starred at Eyphah fora long moment, his eyes a bit wide, before he gave a rumbling sound in his throat, "Firani..." He murmured, going over what details the other had given him, coming to the conclusion that they were the tribe of fire based dragons. Not something he'd ever run into at home, there was only one type of dragon where he lived after all, and as such he couldn't help but to be nervous. At the same time was it so bad? If he were to take on some fiery creatures surely he would have the advatage being that he was one with the water... of course in Eowyn there was little in the way of water, "I feel... that I would be at a bit of a disadvantage in Eowyn due to the lack of water but... I don't mind so much following your lead." It was rather intimidating but surely he would be able to do it, right? With Eyphah's help he felt that he would be far more powerful, far more confident, and far less likely to turn tail and run if things went poorly. Dragging in a breath to steady himself he said, "Y-Yeah... I think it should be alright..."

Eyphah gave a toothy grin, "Of course it will be alright, I am going to be there!" He announced, his confidence at an all time high at the moment. The Diabi pushed himself up to his feet, grinning all the while, before he said, "Come on, let's get a drink at the oasis and then we will start the hunt! If there is anywhere best to have as a starting point it would be there, it's where many creatures go to get relief from the desert heat after all." It was the perfect starting point to what was going to prove to be one hell of a hunt, one that Eyphah would tell stories about if things went his way.

Tallulah made his way to his feet as well, moving to trot along after the Diabi, tail swishing from side to side, a slightly nervous air around him. He was trying his best to be strong, to prepare himself mentally, but he felt as though they were skipping a step in training because of the Diabi's confidence in them as a pair. He didn't want to mess up, he wanted to do this right, wanted to carry his own weight, wanted to make the Diabi proud! It would likely only happen if they were able to hunt down, find, and defeat the Firani dragons that he was wanting. Not just one or two of them either, a group it seemed, maybe it was the group idea that worried him most. The most he'd fought against were three, but it seemed as though Eyphah was going for the ultimate score when it came to the orbs. He should buck up and follow suit, just think about it! More dragons meant more orbs, more orbs meant a bigger jump forward toward the count needed to become a Merkeinian, and once he did that... oh wow, that would be so amazing! As he thought about it he couldn't help but to start to wag his tail a little.

"I can't wait to see how many orbs we get out of this." He purred happily, a comment that had Eyphah grinning as well. It seemed that both of them had their eyes on the prize and now all they had to do was find the Firani and take them down!

Part Two: The Initial Attack

The journey to find the 'big score' caused the two of them to moved on passed a good half dozen dragons that were traveling on their own or in pairs, not good enough according to the Diabi and Tallulah could only not and continue to follow him. The way that the Merkein saw it Eyphah knew what it was that he was looking for, knew what the 'big score' was, and he knew that it was most certainly not solo dragons. If nothing else skipping by those ones had allowed Tallulah to get a better chance at inspecting the Firani, seeing what they looked like, how they were built, where potential weak spots might be. From what he knew from all of his other dragon battles was that the ones that he was going to battle with needed to have their wings dealt with, in doing that he put the dragons on the same level as him. To a point at least, they were still a whole lot bigger then he was, not to mention they were built for Eowyn's weather which Tallulah was very much not ready for. Turning his attention for a moment toward Eyphah he asked, "How many of them do you think constitutes a 'big score' Eyphah?" He was just curious what it was that they were looking for, surely if he knew then he would be able to better keep a look out?

The Diabi turned to look over at Tallulah, seeming as though he were thinking on his answer really hard, before he chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, "I can't really say. I think that we will know it when we see it. A group of dragons that will make it more then worth our time to track them down and defeat them in glorious, delicious combat." He purred, tail lashing in a delighted manner. It was obvious to anyone, even the most freshly born Keinling, that Eyphah was aching for a fight. He was all but jittering, so Tallulah supposed that he understood why it was that the Diabi was searching for something very specific. He only wished that he better knew what it was that he was looking for since that would allow him to help. Then again if Eyphah was so convinced that they would know the dragons they were looking for when they saw them then he should just keep his eyes peeled. Out here somewhere in the desert expanse was a group of dragons that was meant to be theirs if the Diabi was to be believed.

"Alright, I will just keep my eyes open and I am sure that we will spot something very soon." Tallulah said, hoping that he was right. He didn't want to continue to wander in what felt like arbitrary directions looking for their dragons. Of course as Tallulah was doing just that he spotted some red against the sands in the distance. So focused on it was he that he ended up running right into the side of the Diabi who had also stopped to look in that direction, "Ack! Ahh... sorry..." He said, giving a shake of his head before squinting his eyes, "Huh... let's see... one, two, three... four... ahhh... five?" He turned to look over at Eyphah, wondering if that was going to be enough of them when he saw the look on the Diabi's face that seemed to be nothing but pure glee, "That's them, isn't it?" Five? Five seemed like... a lot... but he supposed if they each took half it would only be two each plus one that they would go after together, right? That did make it seem a bit better.

A sound that was much like a purr escaped from Eyphah before he gave Tallulah a nudge, "Let's get going. Those dragons and their orbs are ours! Once we take them down we are going to be rolling in orbs!" He said before he set to charging forward, Tallulah following closely behind, "I am going to take to the sky, you keep low and follow after me on the ground. Once I create a distraction you are going to come charging in and attack!" He said before launching himself up into the air, streaking forward across the sky toward his intended targets. There was nothing but pure pleasure on the features of the Diabi, this was the battle that they had been searching for since starting out early this morning, and he was nearly salivating over the idea of sinking his teeth, claws, and tail barb into those Firani. He couldn't help but to wonder as he flew closer and closer if the fiery dragons would taste spicy, he sure hoped so! He glanced down only once, making sure that his wingless friend was keeping up before he closed his wings, falling into a head first dive bomb toward the group of unawares Firani.

Tallulah starred in amazement as the Diabi crashed down on that first Firani, knocking it senseless, sending it flying, it's red body cover in deep gashes from the various natural weaponry that Eyphah sported. The dragon didn't have any chance to recover before the Diabi was on it again, each attack seeming to be both well aimed and violent, finishing the dragon off before the others were even able to even begin to converge on them. It was then that Tallulah knew he had to do as he was told, he had to attack! Dragging in a deep breath he charged forward, pushing up off the ground so that he could land on the Firani's back. The creature was so caught up in going after Eyphah to avenge it's fallen ally that it hadn't even seen the Merkein coming. That was a good thing for Tallulah since it allowed him to snapped his powerful jaws down on the wing of the Firani, breaking the bone fairly easily. It was as he joined the fight that everything seemed to errupt into chaos...

Part Three: The Big Score

With one dragon was down and two assailants charging their group, the Firani were quick to rally themselves, going from being completely blindsided by the two pronged attack to being on the offensive. The one that Tallulah was hanging onto started to flail around, snarling and roaring, trying to send the clinging Merkein flying... only to find itself getting attacked from another direction as the Diabi lunged forward at it. Eyphah was quick to grab onto the Firani by the throat, crushing it, before snarling at the dragon in a dominate manner. Not stupid Firani was going to harm 'his' Merkein he thought to himself, shaking his head from side to side, before he released his hold on that one as the other three started their way. Whirling around Eyphah lifted up onto his back legs, roaring at the trio of Firani in a challenging fashion, before charging the closest one. The Diabi's tail lashed forward, slashing into the Firani's hind legs with the curved barb, cutting deep, seeming to easily cripple the beast. From there he merely charged on ahead toward the next one. With that one moving so slowly now he could finish it off at any time, the other two, the more dangerous two, had to be dealt with first.

Seeming to realize by the way the Firani was first swaying from side to side, then collapsing into a heap, that it was finished. As such Tallulah jumped down off of its back, landing fairly gracefully in the hot sands, and went after another of them. He wanted to call over to Eyphah that he hadn't needed help... but he supposed that he couldn't complain, could he? Help was a good thing! Since Eyphah had been kind enough to help him out then he would help Eyphah in turn he decided, racing toward the other uninjured Firani that was going toward the Diabi, seemingly trying to flank him. Tallulah pushed himself off the ground, slamming into the side of the big, red dragon, all of his claws digging in, climbing up him like one might do to a tree. The moment he was on top of the Firani's back he went for the back of it's neck, crunching down with his teeth, his claws digging in deeply as well. This dragon, like the last one, set to flailing around, trying to get him to let go but if anything it seemed to do more harm them good... and the dragon was soon crumbling away into nothing.

Tallulah landed with an 'umph' sound in the sand, shook off the impact of the fall, then turned to look over at Eyphah, taking in the way that he was making short work of the Firani that he was taking on. He gave a rumbling sound before he turned to go after the last of the Firani, the one that Eyphah had earlier crippled up, and he moved the finish the creature off, seeing no reason for why he should leave it suffering. They wanted the orb after all, not to go around torturing other creatures he thought to himself as he quickly finished off the last of the Firani. The moment he did he whirled around to check on Eyphah, seemingly at the same time the Diabi turned to check on him, before the two of them moved toward each other, meeting in the middle. Tallulah gave a sighing sound before he flopped down onto his side, breathing hard, "Oh man... that was so... so... tiring!" He gasped out, feeling so terribly exhausted now that the battle was over and adrenaline was fading.

Eyphah chuckled, leaning over to give the Merkein a gentle nudge against his neck before lifting up onto his back legs, looking around the area, at the mess the two of them had made, at what was left over now that the Firani had faded, and he gave a pleased sort of sound, "Tallulah, once you catch your breath you need to get up and look at this... it's just so very... amazing..." He said, his eyes wide as he looked from side to side, taking it all in, all the red glittering orbs, seeming to be two from each of the Firani, five orbs each, a massive haul and huge leap forward towards what it was that the two of them were seeking. With these orbs in their stashes they were that much closer to becoming beautiful, powerful, amazing Drakeinian he thought to himself, unable to help but to almost bounce in place like a little Keinling.

Curious what it was that had the Diabi so excited Tallulah dragged himself to his feet even though he wanted nothing more then to lay around for a little while longer to rest up. Once he was on his feet though he was more then happy that he'd gotten up. The look of all the red orbs glittering under the bright, Eowyn sun, it was just... awe inspiring, "Wow... there are so many of them!" He gasped out, shifting in place before reaching forward, wanting to gather them up before the sands tried to bury them. The moment he moved Eyphah did the same, the two of them working together to get all of the red orbs gathered up into one spot so that they could just stare at them for a while, wanting to take in the amazing sight. To think that they had gotten so many orbs all at once! It sure something Tallulah thought to himself, reaching out to pick a single one up, looking it over, "These ones are really pretty, aren't they? Just look at that color." It reminded him of the sun when it was setting he thought to himself, such a beautiful sight!

Laughing Eyphah picked one up too, 'Yeah, I do like that color, it looks like blood." The Diabi purred, tail swishing from side to side, the comment one that made Tallulah wrinkle his nose at Eyphah. Grinning that much more the Diabi set to divvying up the orbs evenly, "Alright, we each get five of them to add to our collective stashes." He said, sitting down so that he could scoop up all of the red orbs in his forefeet, grinning down at them, "These beauties are taking us places." He purred, tail lashing from side to side, kicking up a bit of a cloud of dust.

Tallulah nodded his head, "Yeah, one big leap forward toward becoming something great, huh?" He said, gathering up the orbs before he turned to Eyphah, "We should see about getting something to eat and some rest, I don't know about you but I am tired." He said, gathering up his forms, wrapping his tail fin around them, and once Eyphah gathered his, carrying them with his wing, the two of them were once more on the move, heading out to find a good place to bed down for the night.
