What would her future bring? School was done, over with. Finished…and Juniper hadn’t exactly applied to any colleges. Sure, she had talked about going to Sovereign Heights, but that hadn’t yet happened…would they let her apply so close to the new semester? Maybe she should take a semester off and focus on…
On what? What did she really have to focus on? Being Tortali? Anella? Video games? Oh, well. She did like to focus on video games, and she had been neglecting them a lot recently…but…but that wasn’t something you could make a life off of.
She had to start trying to get some sort of job. Make some sort of living. Do something other than wander around outside and sit inside on her butt…
Besides. If she had a job…maybe she could afford to get Anella some nice presents…or something. Afford to get herself some nice video games.
So, here she was, newspaper in one hand, a cup of hot expensive coffee in the other. She was going to sit down, and she was going to look through the newspaper to find a job…because that could totally work.
After sitting down for a total of maybe ten minutes, Juniper was off. There had been an ad about some bookstore needing help, so off she went, finding the place and entering, looking around. Where was everyone? No wonder they needed help!
She moved over to the first person she saw, a girl with shoulder length pale blonde hair. Aha! An employee, it just had to be. The girl reached out, tapping on the other’s shoulder.
“Excuse me. I’m here about the job opening that the paper said you had?”

Mary loved bookstores, almost as much as she loved writing and roleplaying. She fluffed her shoulders, carrying an obscene amount of books in her arms and walked down one of the aisles to add more books to the pile. She had a system where she picked out all the books that interested her, then chose from there the books she was going to buy. Afterwards, she replaced the books from whence they came. The whole process took a good four hours and to anyone who didn't come into the store regularly, she'd very much look like an employee.
It happened she was in the phase of reshelving her nonpurchases when the hand very much tapped on her shoulder.
Juni really should have expected the girl to jump.
Mary shot a good two feet into the air and all but squeeked. Books went toppling out of her arms and landed haphazardly on the floor as she spun about, arms raised in a fighting position. Too many years of fighting as Bifrost, clearly. Her shoulders were tense and she stared at the green haired girl for a good twenty seconds.
Then she realized Juniper was not, in fact, a chaos agent out to get her, and simply someone who confused her with someone else. Mary ruffled her shoulders again and put down her hands, smiling sheepishly.
"Ah, actually I don't... work here. I think the kind ladies at customer service can help you though?" she said with her trademark little kind smile that lit up her lilac eyes.

Juniper blinked, jumping a little herself when the blonde gave the squeak. “I uh. Oh.” She stared for a few seconds of her own, then shook her head, bending down to help the girl retrieve her lost books. “I’m so sorry. You just looked like you worked here and uh…” She held the books out, giving a very apologetic smile. “I guess I just assumed. But…you look like you at least know something about this place? Is it nice? Do you think the people are friendly?”
If she really was going to apply for a job here…it would at least be good to know what kind of a place she was trying to get herself into…and an even more important thing than that was the question of just what kind of customers she would run into while she worked here…because…
Well. This girl almost seemed like a thief. She was far too jumpy for her own good. Either that, or Juniper was turning into more of a ninja than she had ever thought possible.

Mary giggled a little as she picked up her books. " Of course they're friendly! Who wouldn't be friendly in a bookstore?" the young woman smiled at her and restacked her books.
"Thanks... sorry about jumping. Ever since the whole... well I get a little jumpy these days." Couldn't quite tell the green haired girl that ever since she'd been ported to a giant rainbow road, killed by a monster dragon, brought back by said road, then pursued by Mothra for months, that she'd been a little jumpy when not paying attention to things. That would go over very well, esspecially if she turned into an agent of Chaos.
... Did she just... suspect this innocent girl who scared her of being the Negaverse?
Mary turned and made a little bow, shoulders shifting. "The name is Mary, She Who Is Like a Ninja. A pleasure to meet you."
Well that was a better start.
