A Wandering Esper

Beloved Stargazer

Curiosity got the better of the goddess, and now he found his day more or less derailed again. Not that he had been doing anything important, honestly, so Graff couldn't say he minded too badly.

Finding the door was easy enough, and it fit the description he had been given of it, so he would reach up and knock.

Cosine heard the knock, though kept her eyes trained on the volume she was reading. She had been reading all day and all night and thought she could probably keep it up for weeks she knew she should really put the tome down and check the world was still spinning. when no one answered the door she frowned and sighed a little.
"Is no one going to answer that?" Her voice seemed to resonate in the empty apartment. "Have to do everything myself." She muttered under her breath, she heaved the tome to the floor and brushed at the dust in her lap as she stood. Her mana reached out and the door opened by itself.
"Come in." She called as she made her way from Ankou's workroom to the main atrium of their home.

Well, you heard that, did you ?

Well, a door opening without no one touching it was quite tame compared to some of the things he had seen here. Graff stepped inside carefully, making sure not to bump or disturb anything. Like most of the gods' apartments, it was much bigger on the inside than it seemed to be on the outside.

"Hello ?" It would take a moment before he spotted the goddess. Honestly, being taller than her was almost awkward, though it seemed it was mostly the males who liked to tower anything and everything.

He wasn't sure what to say, to be honest.

Oh, her poor host. "I hope we did not come at an inopportune time ?" She could see what was left of the dust. "My name is Nuhava, and this is my host, Graff."

Cosine stretched her wings out and walked over to the person, no, host that was now standing giving her an awkward look. She supposed she did look rather underwhelming as goddesses went, but it was not all about appearances. She smiled as she was addressed by the goddess within.
"No, not at all, it was time I took a break. I am Cosine. Please, have a seat, can I get you both a drink?" She gestured to the comfortable chairs at a table by the central pool.

Graff would do as the goddess said, since he seemed to still be in control for a moment. He was just a tiny bit annoyed at his own goddess - of course she would use his nickname now when he didn't care what people called him anymore. That was a very Nuhava thing to do.

"I wouldn't mind something to drink." He admitted.

Less confusion if she goes looking for you later. Her host's slight irritation only amused her.

"We have been hearing about you, and I admit I was curious." She would admit. From the look of her, she likely who ruled over the more supernatural part of her domain. Though she could not remember if they had known each other before, not even with seeing her with her own eyes.

Cosine disappeared for a moment to get them drinks and had an amused smile on her lips as she returned.
"Curious?" She asked, placing the tray down and taking a seat herself "About what?" The goddess too was rather curious. "And I hope you have been hearing good things about me."

Graff would take the glass as it was offered to him with a nod of thanks. "We met Alva and then Kyrie." He would attempt to give an explanation. Kyrie held her mother in high regards, of course.

"Mostly I am wondering if we once knew each other, and if not, then I would like to remedy that. I am Strength, but my memory... Well, you likely know what I speak of." It seemed a common thing among them. "I remember small bits and pieces, but not much more than that."

The mention of Kyrie did made her ponder. Perhaps she could tell the mother what her spawns was up to. "Your daughter is quite inquisitive... And up to mischief. That is another reason why I came."

Kyrie said not to say anything !

Would you rather she get hurt ? They mean well, but they do not know what they are getting into, and neither do I. He could blame it on her later if he wished. It would not be the first time she drew ire for walking the hard line, and it probably would not be the last.

"Ah, I see." Well that explained things then. She sat back in the chair as Nuhava spoke, her head wings twitching thoughtfully. "Hmm, we may well have known each other, though I do not believe I was entirely sociable back then. I still can't remember much from the time before and to be honest I have stopped trying, I try to live in the now, in the future." She smiled, "We will know each other in this incarnation even if we did not in the last."

The description of her daughter being inquisitive and up to mischief would not surprise the goddess, she was very used to her children by now. Damage control seemed to be a better method than keeping them locked up.
"And what is the little minx up to?"

"It does seem that how much one remembers vary greatly." She would admit. Strength was not too bothered by it, no, as Cosine said, it was the future that mattered now. That did mean Nuhava could not have some idle curiosity about it, especially in the state she was now.

"Not just her, I would say. She mentioned a rather elaborate plot to us. She told me of gathering spirits and of a funeral to calm them, and an attempt to lay them to rest." Their father's work, this much was evident. "I know little of your mate, but if they truly were fit for such a task, he would have already started to teach them ? I get the feeling that they have little idea of what they are getting into, and I cannot claim to truly know as well."

Cosine would know what to do better than she did, after all. She only carried the warning.

Graff was fidgeting a bit, clearly a little guilty about this situation, but he did not snatch control back from Nuhava. He knew this was probably the best thing to do... but...

Well, he was not used to being the snitch. He was used to stepping in and solving the problems when they came up.

Cosine raised an eyebrow at that little revelation. She had seen what the spirits could do when out of control ... even Ankou had trouble controling them in the past she could only imagine what danger her children were getting themselves into.
"Oh really now. I swear those little monsters will be the death of me." Though really, she could see that their hearts were in the right place. She would have to deal with this carefully, she didn't want to trouble Ankou with their plan.
"I will have to keep an eye on them, thank you for telling me. The dead ... they can be unpredictable and dangerous, there is no way they will be able to control them if they get angry."

"I figured this much." At least it seemed wiser to exert caution when was not not completely certain what they were getting into. How could one, especially little ones, could protect themselves from something that could not be perceived, after all ?

"It seemed to be the wisest course of action to inform you and have you handle the matter as you see fit. Neither myself or my host would be of much help if something happened, if we were to be present at all." They likely would not be - the dragons were moving again, and they would likely be gone in the next few days, if not tomorrow.

He would shake his head and sip some of his water. Maybe it would have been easier to give Nuhava control, but she had not come forward to claim it fully.

"Did she mention any details, where and when anything like that?" She asked, there would have to be an adult involved somewhere, there was no way they would be able to pul something like that off all by themselves they did not know about Soul paths and things.

"Hmm..." The goddess would pause a moment to poke at her memory. "She said something about calling the lost spirits to... Ah, what was the name she said ? St. Kore ?"

"Yeah, I think that was it." Graff seemed resigned to his fate at snitch by now. He had no idea where that place was, really, though looking back, an abandoned church would probably have been a much better hideout than what he'd had before. Oh well. It wasn't like he needed it now.

"She mentioned using birds to call the spirits and needing people to mourn them during the Funeral. I do not think we will be around... We are leaving soon again, and they likely see it wisest to try this while their father is otherwise occupied." She could not see Ankou being to happy about this.

Cosine sighed and nodded.
"Thank you both again. I will have to be there when they attempt this chaos in waiting." She smirked a little, yes she would let them get so far, from the school of hard knocks she believed they should learn things the hard way. They would not be harmed, scared perhaps and that was the way it should be.
"I wish you luck on your journey."

"Thank you, and I wish you luck with your little terrors as well." She smiled. This was a reason why she was not keen on the idea of children - whatever she managed to spawn would likely toss the world upside down.

"We should be well enough." Nuhava had no reason to believe they would be in too much danger, with so many older gods involved. "We are here for... support, for the most part." She started down at her host's hand as it's fingers twitched a bit under her will to have them do so. "Though I am lucky. I can exercise my influence with no need for mana... not as effectively, perhaps, but nonetheless. I can try."

She was trapped in a mortal body, but she could speak. Words were not always enough, but she could at least attempt.

It was more than Shen and Takeru really had. Keme had the glimpses of mysteries to work with.

Graff snorted a bit when Nuhava relegated them as support. "I can fight just fine." Not as well as a god, no, but !

He'd survived this long. He could survive a little more. "Sorry. When she starts talking, she just keeps going and going."
