Hobbies: Motorcycles - Dylan likes motorcycles. There's not much more to this sometimes-- she saw a motorcycle when she was a child (A Harley Davidson she would note EVERY TIME) and got hooked watching them on the road. And then she found motocross, furthering her interest in the vehicles. She likes them far more than cars and keeps herself up to date on safety, and owns a BMW F650GS as an 18th birthday present after saving for a motorcycle for two years, and receiving the remainder for said birthday.
Reading - Yes, Dylan is a bibliophile. She rather enjoys reading and in school it wasn't hard to get her reading in classes. It's not sure when she got hooked, because she's read a long time, but she does so enjoy a good book, fact or fiction, and sometimes hands her brother some of her paycheck and asks for books from his college bookstore. It isn't uncommon for her to sit and read educational fare for the giggles and to learn, and she doesn't always read books-- she will also read fanfic, blogging sites, the news... or Wiki articles. Truly, her reading obsession is boundless, and borderline problematic.
Coding - Dylan discovered programming in middle school, via Basic on her parent's old Commodore Vic-20. Instead of being horrified and mildly put off by the old computer, it became near impossible to pry her from it and since she discovered a love of programming. She took to learning Basic, and learned enough to write small, very basic games for her parents' old computer and saved them to cassette before the cassette drive died, and afterwards she began to try learning scripting, coding, and programming on a more modern machine. She took after-school classes in Java and Visual Basic after school in high school, and wants to eventually learn to master the languages, or at least go to college for programming. Probably after Kouji has his Associates in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Cosplay - Dylan is an avid conventiongoer, and coupled with her job in a cosplay cafe, she tends to make costumes all the time. It's a guilty pleasure thanks to internet, and she shares it with her brother. She enjoys making costumes by hand and has spent years mastering the craft and squirrelling away supplies. She fully enjoys the job and even finds pleasure helping others with cosplay, making it a rare way to stop her snarking and get her to go on like an excited twelve year old.
Sewing - When Dylan began cosplay, she learned to sew, and as a result, she's gotten to be good at it, and surprisingly, enjoys it. She sticks to sewing cosplay clothing, but also enjoys sewing small accessories and plushies either to cuddle or wear herself, or to tote a laptop in, ETC. Sewing is a hobby she tries to do in private out of feeling awkward about other people finding out, mostly because of how interested people get in her abilities, unless someone needs a patch job to save their favorite jeans. And then look out, we've got a sewing queen. Surprisingly, she doesn't enjoy attempting quilts or similar, as she'd rather wear her creations or seen them worn, not see them go gathering dust on a wall.
Virtues:Helpful -- Dylan can be quite helpful when she's actually
knowledgeable about something. If someone needs help, she will usually offer-- even if in her way she
sounds grudging, most people quickly realize it isn't because she doesn't want to help, it's because she thinks it's something others should help with. Once she helps, she doesn't half-bake it, either-- she is thorough and efficient, making sure she doesn't do a half-a** job whatsoever. Dylan mostly sticks to helping people she knows, if she's asked, or if she feels someone ought to offer that isn't, and she can be convinced to help a friend of a friend, although after that she may mostly only offer tips to avoid overextending herself.
Honest - Dylan is not really a dishonest person. She generally tells the truth more often than not, has no problem admitting mistakes, and will by and large not lie to you if she thinks your shirt is ugly. She's a reliable person for asking questions, even when she snarks, because she'll give an honest answer to anyone, unless the person is someone who doesn't need to know the truth (Such as dealing with people prying into private discussions with her brother or family or close friends). Then she might tell a small lie. She does, however, prefer to be honest with people and not mislead them into thinking she's something she isn't, or that she's doing something she shouldn't, and tends to be straight forward with her reasoning when she can.
Upbeat - Dylan is a fairly positive person. She looks on the bright side -- even when the bright side is still rather grim, and can make light of many situations. She's surprisingly positive considering her sometimes deadpan nature, and will usually try spreading that cheer in her own way, even if it doesn't always seem like she's being cheerful. She's usually smiling, and happy to point out the good in things. Even if the good in someone is that they didn't steal your breakfast or something.
Flaws: Cold Fish -- Dylan does not emote well. She has a narrow emotional range and often comes off as cold, uncaring, or even plain mean and nasty. It isn't (always) her intent-- she is capable of love and sometimes even acts over the top, but her range is... Stunted. She's very cold-fish. It isn't that she doesn't
try not to emote more-- but warm fuzzies will usually confuse and somewhat annoy her and she isn't always one who (seems) sympathetic or even empathetic, and while she tries, usually she blows it off with smarting off.
Tactless - Dylan has no sense of tact. She has no problem making light of a poor situation and she might even make a few... Classless jokes about people, places, or things. She may mean well, but frankly she doesn't even try to be discreet, or private, or really even try to not, oh, say, use polite language. A downside of being honest, she'll have no problem calling someone she dislikes out or saying nasty things about people she dislikes in earshot. There is no filter and for this there is usually an apology from her brother or parents.
Sarcastic - She is the first person to admit to being one of the snarkiest people she's met, usually, due to mouthing off at other people directly. Dylan likes to snark and sass and sometimes even troll people harmlessly for fun. She's careful not to take it too far -- she won't actively harm anyone intentionally and she won't make a snide remark about someone whom is dead (barring people she severely dislikes/terrorists), but she doesn't exactly win friends or influence people easily. She may temper herself for employers, but... Generally she'll be sarcastic with anyone else, including but not limited to her twin-- and usually their parents say she stole Kouji's bite in the womb.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Dylan has near-black brown almond-shaped eyes typical of Japan.
Hair: Goes to mid-back, and it is black. Her bangs tend to fall in her face and has varying lengths, while some hair usually falls over her shoulders. Typically, it has surprising body-- and is very fine. It flares out towards the bottom, because untuil a friend convinced her to stop keeping it tied back all the time, it lived in a ponytail, although that has since changed.
Face: Dylan has a heart-shaped face, asian skintone. She doesn't tan-- she
burns and her skin is fairly clear. Her nose is small, and she has a bow-like mouth. Dylan does not believe in makeup and never wears any unless asked.
