Hobbies: Tennis: Maya loves to play tennis. While she doesn't know the ins and outs of the game she does know that you have to follow a few simple rules. Hit the ball over the net, stay within the lines or it's out of bounds. If it bounces once in bounds and the person your playing with misses or you do, a point is scored. She loves to get someone to play with her for hours on end, hardly ever keeping score, just laughing and trying to get the ball past the other player is all she's interested in. She's been thinking about joining the team at school since she just moved here, but she's not too sure about it. If she's put under pressure doing something she likes, she's worried that she won't like it as much anymore.

Reading: Maya adores curling up with a nice fantasy novel when the weather doesn't allow her to go outside, or if it is too late at night and she can't sleep. She loves fantasy most because it sparks her imagination into seeing these people, places and things that another person created. As well as there is magic and unicorns and... well, the list could go on and on. Sometimes she gets so caught up in her books that she can't put it down. Hiding it under her desk in her lap, reading while in class. Reading at the dinner table. Chances are if you check her purse, you'd find her e-reader covered over with a frilly purple and green fantasy skin.

Virtues: Sincere: She tries to tell the truth all the time, she doesn't even like little white lies like "Oh... your hair is fine!" She would rather be straightforward with a person and she expects the same in return.

Helpful: She doesn't back down if someone needs a hand. She doesn't even have to be asked. She'll get down and help someone pick up there stuff if they drop it. Or if the teacher needs a volunteer for something she's one of the first to have her hand in the air.

Independent: While she likes to have friends, she doesn't need to be surrounded by the crowd all the time. She's happy enough, if she has to be, to be alone. She has been this way for as long as she can remember. She also doesn't mind working on projects alone or trying to figure out things that she doesn't understand by herself.

Flaws: Compulsive: Maya has a habit of not thinking everything through before she says or does something. She'll buy that cute new purse and forget all about her cell bill that is due next week. She'll blurt out something that maybe she really shouldn't have, tying in with her honest trait, ending up hurting someone's feelings. She also tends to take on too much at one time, making it impossible for her to get everything done that she'd promised.

Pessimistic: While she seems like a happy go lucky girl, at heart, Maya is a pessimist. She tends to believe if the worst can happen, it's going to happen. If receiving bad news, it just makes it worse for her because she knows, it's going to get worse and she'll never recover from it because life has a way of kicking a person when they're down.

Overemotional: Maya is quick to tears if something goes wrong. She's also easily hurt if someone lies to her, making her angry with that person. She tends to hold a grudge with people that irk her. Not that she'd get physical, she'd ignore the person as if they didn't exist. She also gets upset if she's not getting the things done that she's promised, even if she'd promised too much as it is.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Emerald green eyes, softly rounded.

Hair: Red hair with hot pink highlights and tips. Thick bangs angling around her face and pigtails high on her head decorated with ribbons to match her clothing. a few stray strands curling at her neck (you know, those baby fine hairs?)

Face: Heart-shaped face with soft features, full lips and a sprinkling of freckles over her nose and cheek bones. Skin tone is peachy pale. Normal ears? (Could they be pierced? If yes, then cute earrings, maybe gold or silver heart studs, whichever looks best)

Clothes: School Uniform.

I agree with Orange! Her virtues and flaws seem to compliment each other nicely. I like her! (Even if she hates spaghetti :'D)
