He saw a spark of light, and then felt it around him before it moved off, beckoning him to follow. He did, walking through the thin mist on the ground. He could hear something, music?, in the background, and as he walked more whisps joined them.
They led him to a path, and he continued down it. Eventually, he began to see trees, long silver trees, bare, and empty, and then, a large one. It was barren as well, and quite, but it felt as if there was something inside, sleeping. It seemed sick.
And then, a voice spoke. "At last," it echoes, a feminine voice, and you realize it is coming from the tree. "At last, someone has arrived to hear my tale. It has been so long, I have been silenced too long, taken and hidden, my power feared but not respected, cultivated until I am barren and empty. This is all that remains of my Legacy, but I am not finished, not yet. As long as my powers remain, my children will prosper after me. They will take up my mantle, to protect, to serve, to remember, and to grieve. Men like the Great King will rise again, and fall just as easily, but I only wish to serve. Come now. Help me fulfill my last desire."
"What do you want me to do?"

"Go to the lake."
He nodded, and then continued down the path, through the trees. Eventually, the forest cleared, and he could see a lake. Light and orbs danced over it, making it appear as if it were pure white. In the distance, there were more silver trees.
He could feel that he was drawn to the lake, and he moved closer. It was the only important thing. He could hear a strange sound, a song coming from the lake itself.
He placed his head into the water. He could hear it. A voice calling inside the lake. It sounds remorseful. "Heal my children," it chimes, "And when you do I will give you a gift of immeasurable value. That is my only wish and my only desire. Take these waters and carry them to my children."
The orbs pulled him out of the water, and he stared at it briefly. Carry it? But... oh well. He'd just have to use his hands and hope that he could make it to the tree before all of the water dripped out.
He scooped up as much as he could hold, and the orbs guided him back. He poured the water onto the tree, and it shivered, spawning a single acorn onto a branch. The acorn fell in front of him, and the tree shuddered. It was almost like it was trying to thank him.

The orbs guided him back to the lake, which was humming again. He had no choice but to dive back under, to listen to its words. "My children need time to grow, to move on from my Grief. Help them create their own Legacy and feed them each unique memories." Memories. He nodded, watching the bubbles being created. They seemed to be his, or could be his, and he reached out, pulling some close. AU memory 1 He had been looking forward to logging in all day, for the raid that he had signed up a week ago for. They were going to be taking a 'field trip' to Christmas Town, with an unknown objective to be given once the raid had officially started. It was going to be a blast.

AU 2 He tipped his fedora at the cop, making his way onto the crime scene. He scribbled down a couple of notes. The body had been covered, but the fact that no blood was on the ground made the case perplexing. He glanced around, and then pulled the sheet off of the body. It was laying in puddle of.. he looked closer..not blood. Water. And the man's skin looked as if it had frost bite.

AU 3 He was going to Pigfarts! He was so excited. He couldn't wait to see which group he would be in, Leo, Capricorns, Pegasi. He wanted to be a Leo, wanted it so bad, but he was worried. He knew there was a good chance that he could be sorted into Serpentarius, and he really didn't want to be in there. There wasn't anything wrong with it, even if it was rumored to be the "bad group", but he just didn't think that he would really fit in there. He wasn't that kind of person.

They were strange memories, but he carried them back to where the acorn was. He looked down at it, and then offered the memories to it. It seemed pleased to get them, growing into a tree.
It was an amazing site to see.

It was almost fully grown now, and it was swaying, delicately, but on its own. He was rather pleased.
"Not quite," whispered a voice, and he knew that he had to return to the lake. When he did, it was different. There was a castle in the distance, and the water was pouring out into pools from rocks like waterfalls.
"Take some of this water, and my blessing. This is my last request. Show my children your world so they will grow each unique and different."
But which?
He tested a couple of them, and then scooped up some from the Cold pool. It reminded him of Chilling, painful memories but he had already chosen. He took it to his tree, pouring it onto it.
It was grown. It was truly something spectacular.
A wyrm coils around the tree, and then a voice asks, "Are you satisfied with what I have become?"
He was.
