Wasn't it strange that all the trees were barren?
Perhaps it was the atmosphere here, with all the mist. She had never seen silver trees in her life either. Marzena walked on, until she stopped at a particularly large tree.
Even if it was bigger in size than the others, it seemed sick. She didn't know how she could tell; she was no botanist for sure, but she just somehow got a vibe from it.
"At last" a feminine voice said, and she looked around before realizing that it came from the tree. "At last, someone has arrived to hear my tale. It has been so long, I have been silence too long, taken and hidden, my power feared but not respected, cultivated until I am barren and empty. This is all that remains of my Legacy, but I am not finished, not yet. As long as my powers remain, my children will prosper after me. They will take up my mantle, to protect, to serve, to remember, and to grieve. Men like the Great King will rise again, and fall just as easily, but I only wish to serve. Come now. Help me fulfill my last desire."
The trees before her parted to reveal a lake. It was as though someone was singing within it, and she took a deep breath before dipping her head into the water.
"Heal my children. And when you do I will give you a gift of immeasurable value. That is my only wish and my only desire. Take these waters and carry them to my children."
There was no other option than to cup her hands together and scoop up as much water as she could. The journey back to the tree wasn't easy; some water leaked out from within her fingertips and she pressed them closer together.
When the orbs stopped, she raised her head and realized that she was back at the tree, and poured the water upon it.

Quote: Your character exists in a part of the wild west, where law is no longer on their side. They must obey the Sheriff, and that is their only singular rule in these parts of town. Their town is often attacked by the unrulies, neighbouring crude towns that reside to no laws. It is up to you to keep your own town afloat, and remember what it means to be a cowboy. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter, you are a cowboy, or something that exists in the wild west setting. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. The Sheriff was her father.
But that was a problem. It meant that she was either dismissed as a good cowboy; partly due to her gender and partly due to her blood, or being sucked up to precisely because the Sheriff was her father.
In the years when she first put guns in her holsters and a hat upon her head, he cowboys around town had learned lessons in regards to these presumptions. One, Sheriff Adriatico was strict especially in regards to his children. Two, Marzena Adriatico was the sharpest shooter they had ever seen, even sharper than her twin brother. No one needed to feign a loss.
But no one dared to challenge her either, out of fear of getting beaten by a mere woman, and out of fear of being scorned by the Sheriff.
"Times are hard." Marzena said with a sigh, urging her horse forward. The only one who would ride a patrol with her was her brother, Radek. No one wanted blood on their hands lest she got injured in a fight with those bandits and unrulies.

Quote: All characters in this world have the special ability that when they hit a certain age, they can summon a creature form of themselves. The most powerful are the zodiac creatures, the twelve animals that govern the zodiac (starting with Rat --> Pig), the least powerful are the lesser creatures that govern them, such as pidgeons, etc. When doing this prompt, look at all the minor achievements your character has collected. If you have less than 10, write for a less powerful one, if you have less than 20 write for an average one, if you have more than 21 write for a greater zodiac creature. How do they bond/ what is their role in this world/ how do they communicate with each other is entirely up to you. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. Everyone was watching them as they tried to summon their first creature form. What exactly would the twins of the Adriatico family summon? They were seated, cross-legged upon a cushion, eyes closed and concentrating. It was hard with so many eyes upon them, and Marzena felt beads of sweat run down her forehead.
Deep breath. Relax.
It took a few minutes of silent meditating before she started feeling soft tendrils surround her, and opened her eyes to what they called the Spirit World. Mist. White mist everywhere, making it hard to see, and she sat and waited till the creature appeared. What would it be?
There was the soft padding of footsteps in the distance. Pawsteps, rather. That narrowed it down, but not by a lot.
She waited with bated breath, until a striped orange head peeked out of the mist.
...A baby tiger. A relieved smile broke onto her face, and she gestured towards it. "Hey, little guy. Or girl."
The tiger blinked at her, retreating slightly back into the mist.
"You're shy, aren't you?" Marzena said softly. "It's okay. I won't harm you. I promise. We're in this together, aren't we?"
And when she pulled out of the Spirit World, the tiger was settled in her arms, and she looked over to see a puppy licking her brother's face with delight. Cheers erupted around her and she laughed.

Quote: Your character plays This is Halloween, the greatest online MMO ever created. While in reality they may exist as their somewhat boring, ordinary selves (with jobs, or school, or whatnot), online they can be whatever they want. Part of the noble (but human) faction of Deus Ex as a Hunter, or the more neutral faction of Halloween, or even the feared Horsemen faction. PVPs, raids, and even some roleplayed events occur for your character to get loot. Basically, they are humans ICly playing their actual TiH incarnations, feel free to interpret as you please. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. In life, she was just regular student, Marzena Adriatico. She didn't want to join any clubs, or any extra-curricular activities. Nope.
Not when she needed time to play the most famous MMO of all, This is Halloween. Sure, maybe she had picked a pretty unpopular character; selkies were pretty much useless they said. Hah! She had managed to cultivate her character pretty well.
Of course, there were many who would also hit on a selkie character, but once she challenged them into a PvP, they went down pretty easy. Though that didn't really get them to shut up...
'ooh so u like it rough huh'
'dominatrix!1!!1'
"I wish I could actually kill them." She groaned.

Quote: Your character only knows about the Arena. They exist in the Arena, they fight in the Arena, they are slaves in the Arena. Every single day, they live, caged, watching countless faces also get roll in, and countless faces die. Every single day they wait for their 99th kill. They are on kill 98. Tomorrow will be kill 99. Tomorrow, they will face - It is up to you how your character looks, and (optionally) what weapons they use as well as who they face. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. The Adriatico twins were a huge draw for the Arena.
Two blond-haired kids, one girl, and one boy. Working together with their swordsmanship honed from the very blood sport they had been shoved in from a young age, they were a lethal pair. The enemies got stronger and stronger each day, whipping into them more battle experience and with it, more scars.
They had shared a cell for as long as they could remember. Now, after battling a hydra, they were forced apart by the armored guards, and taken into different directions.
Marzena wasn't stupid. There was a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach as they tossed her into a small cell, all bare. She had known that this day would come, but she had hoped and prayed, because the two of them fighting together was the greatest draw right?
But when the banners went up for "MARZENA ADRIATICO V.S. RADEK ADRIATICO", seat tickets were snapped up fast, and bets were frantically placed.
Everyone wanted to see one of them kill the other.

Quote: Your character has been a minipet their entire life. They grew up in the Scarefari, where their parents told them to go to Minipet Battle School. Their hopes is to one day breed with a big, strong minipet and create beautiful children. However, on the way there are many adventures, including being bullied by stronger minipets in the Battle Arena, and nearly being sold to the Black Market, or taken to the Altar of Sacrifice. It's a cruel world in the minipet world, and not everyone is out to help them. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter, you are a minipet, in the minipet setting (anywhere on the site is fair game for interpretation "icly"). You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. Growing up in the Southern Beach of the Scarefari was a fairly easy life, if you counted trying to dodge multiple traps scattered around the coastline.
But finally, finally she was off to Minipet Battle School.
The problem with being a Sealed Evil was that everyone thought that she was just some fluffy seal who could be beat up. Did they not see the black evil wings on her back? Were they stupid?
...Well, alright, at first she was beaten up by some higher level minipets, but after a training montage that included pounding lower level Fire minipets because she was Water, duh...
She would kick all their asses. She would be the best Battle minipet around.
(and nothing was ever gonna get her down.)

Quote: Your character exists in a world where Halloween does not exist. They are Human and they go to a Human high school. They are part of a swimming club, and they are currently about to face a great competition. They know their rival swim team is trying to race against them but they must win the gold medal, for their team! All else you can interpret as you please, including roles and canon. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. Camilla Bergstrom had defeated her once.
Not again.
It was the day of the big swim meet and she was determined that she, Marzena Adriatico would be the winner this time. She didn't even have to wait long; the heats for freestyle, 100m, was the first one up.
And Camilla Bergstrom was in the exact same heat, her lane right next to hers. What were the odds? It wasn't as if Marzena cared. As long as she could outswim her rival and get to the finals, nothing else mattered. Fate was one thing, but she had practiced hard, putting in effort into every stroke and breath and kick.
...And Father would be proud, wouldn't he?
She stepped onto the block, swim cap and goggles on. Camilla was probably throwing her a look by her side, but she kept her gaze forward and focused.
The gunshot rang out and she leaped forward, diving into the water.Quote: Your character is a private eye detective, and this time, they have been hired on what is claimed to be an unsolvable case. You arrive there with only your handy notepad and your own, sharp eye. Something about the case seems odd, from the body, to the events happening, something paranormal. You feel like there is more to the story than what you've been given, but you can't place a finger on it, not quite yet. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter, you are a detective, in Film Noir setting (in the 1930's). You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from. Unsolvable huh?
Marzena Adriatico narrowed her eyes, lifting up the tape that surrounded the crime scene with a finger. No case was unsolvable. There was always a killer with every victim, and with every murder, there would be evidence, no matter how hard they tried to wipe up their tracks.
"Ms Adriatico."
"Inspector Dolan." She greeted the dark-haired man with a nod, eyes drifting to where the body lay, and where the crime scene photographers were snapping pictures from every angle.
"Glad that you're here." He said. "Well, I wish we could meet under better circumstances, but this case... the poor woman was murdered brutally."
"I can see that." She murmured. The victim was utterly naked, and her legs were crudely sewn together with thick blood-encrusted string. It was certainly the strangest murder she had ever seen, and when the photographer moved out of her way, she noticed that the victim's throat had been ripped out.
"Cause of death?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Forensics will be on it once the photographer is done." Inspector Dolan said. "But the victim possesses no items, and doesn't have any fingerprints, so we can't ID her. That's a problem."
"The murderer burned her fingers?"
"No." He said, stooping down, and she followed his lead. He lifted up the victim's hand, turning it so the fingertips faced her gaze. All that was left on the victim's fingers were the mark of a shell. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before.
"Something's not right." She whispered.
"Indeed." He said with a sigh.
------------------- Grasping the large strange bubbles, most of which had her face on it, but seemed different, she handed them willingly over to the tree.

"Not quite."
She found herself walking back to where the lake was, but it seemed different this time round. Was that a castle? That wasn't there before... was it? Or had it been a different lake?
She dipped her hands into the dark pool, and memories of regret enveloped among her. Marzena repressed a shudder, and poured the water onto the seedling.

 "Marzie!"
She looks down and sees a dark-haired little boy, beaming up at her as he tugs on her arm. "What is it?"
"The little rogue wants something." Radek says, grasping their little brother from behind and lifting him into his arms. "Don't you? You use that tone every time you want something from Marzena."
"Are you jealous?" She laughs, leaning over to tickle Damian's tummy and he giggles in response.
"He wants to learn to swim in the stronger currents." Her twin brother says abruptly and she lifts her gaze to stare at him, snapping back to Damian as soon as those words register. "What?"
"I can do it!" Damian whines, feet kicking at her. "And Marzie's the best swimming coach ever!"
She looks helplessly at Radek, who only shrugs. "He tried asking me first and when I told him no..."
"Not now, Damian." She tells him and he pouts, looking as though he is about to cry. But she cannot give in. She cannot bring him into stronger currents, not when he's still young and inexperienced. They can't lose another member of their family...
