It was as if the Voice's speech was tailored for Sinclair. He listened, rapt, to its every word. Even restored to his true form, which he regarded as a reward in and of itself, he was still easily swayed by the promise of even greater prizes awaiting him. For Sinclair was different than the others. Sinclair was already great, and he intended to become even greater. "Yes, I shall go forth! I'm certain I'll continue to impress you!" He swore to the sky.
Alas, the view waiting for him was decidedly not impressive at all. He wrinkled his nose at the dilapidated shack and the sorry state of the animals. Compared to the opulent mansion in his memories and the throne where he saw the Great King, this was... disappointing.
Still, Sinclair intended to make the most of it. He chose the most impressive-looking mount of the set -- a sturdily-built steed -- and raced off into the sunset.
Even though it wasn't even close to sunset, really, but sunset would be much more fitting for his dramatic entrance.

Sinclair's feathers fluttering majestically in the wind did one of two things: one, it made him look absolutely dashing. Two, it made him a very visible target. For bandits.
Perhaps it should have come as no surprise that the knaves found him such an attractive mark, but this wasn't exactly the kind of attention Sinclair had been hoping for.
"Stop in the name of the Noble House of Merchenwald!" He yelled at their retreating backs. He would have chased them, but considering the negligible losses, he decided it wasn't worth the effort and urged his mighty steed in the opposite direction as fast as he could.

Unfortunately, the mighty steed didn't appreciate being pushed so hard, and proceeded to push Sinclair very hard in the chest with his hooves. Winded, Sinclair fell off his horse in a boneless heap. "Maximillian, I will not tolerate treason in this kingdom..." He groaned.

Unfortunately, as quickly as the horse took him across the plains, it was considerably less suited for mountain travel. Which was appropriate, for Sinclair wasn't made for this sort of exertion either.
"Let's... ah... take it slow and steady, shall we..." He said, nervously gazing at the mountain face. Those rocks looked awfully... sharp.
