Emery was exploring when she heard it. One hiss, then another, as the ground shook around her. A third hiss. Emery turned slowly, staring as a colossal body with three heads emerged. She stared up at it, swallowing carefully, and raised her guns, hands shaking as she shot at the creature.
One bullet hit, but the other glanced off. "Crap crap crap crap!" She tried shooting over her shoulder, but missed, and swore under her breath as she ran from the Hydra, trying to put some distance between them so she could attack from an advantageous point.
And mostly...

One gun shot off, hitting the Hydra, but the other wasn't firing. Emery righted herself, and rounded on the creature, aiming and firing off a couple rounds at the Hydra. At least he didn't seem to have any unpleasant feelings with this girl, or perhaps he didn't remember her enough.

She wasn't even following Jake this time. There was just a hydra. You killed those things. That's what you did with them. She gave a friendly nod to both of those already fighting the beast, and jumped on in. She shot at the hydra again, managing an actual hit this time and not just grazing.
