gaia_crown [ Plucking Memories ]- The seed needs to grow from its Grief stage. Inside the Lake, as you look around, you are surrounded by memories. These are all
Trance memories. A Trance memory is a memory of something that
could have happened but did not in your timeline. However, it occurred in another timeline and created an
alternate universe where you still existed, but were quite different.
- Roll 1d10 and match your dice roll to the result below. You need to write
three Trance memories (whatever prompt matches to your roll below). What you will be doing is reading the prompt, and then writing a "memory" snippet as if your character
existed in this alternate universe.
- Example: The setting is that your character lived in the zombie apocalypse. This is a very general theme! How will your character treat this prompt, how will YOU treat this prompt? There are thousands, millions of diverging timelines so taking the prompt and writing/ assuming it any way you want is totally viable. Write a small memory snippet as if your character existed in the zombie apocalypse. What are they doing there? Where are they going? What are their feelings at that exact moment in time you want to write about?
- Example in writing: "Sara checked her rations. She was running low in canned goods again, and had very low ammo. Those damn walkers. They were everywhere, and it was getting difficult now, with two new neighbours, humans of course, that had moved in, trying to steal her stuff. Sometimes, she could hear them talking at night, attracting the attention of the undead only to waste bullets shooting at them. She wished she had that sort of luxury. Sara counted her bullets. Five. She had no choice, she had to make a run for it out of her shelter to the infested main streets. It was either that or die a slow death here."
- You may write your Trance memory as long or short as you want, this exercise is up to you entirely!
- Simply
go to your Tree thread, and roll your first dice. Match your dice roll to the result below and write it. Roll again a second time and then a third time. When you are done, in the post after it
rp out giving these memories to the tree. IT will grow a little more.
- If you roll the
same dice as once you already did, simply choose one above or below it (your pick)
Rolling a 1: Your character exists in a timeline where the horsemen Apocalypse actually occurred. Basically the Horsemen (four clans) have taken over the Human World. If you are a horsemen you dominate this world, if you are a Hunter you exist as
food, if you are part of Halloween you exist as the
Resistance fighting against the horsemen. All else you can interpret as you please, including roles and canon. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 2: Your character exists in a timeline where everyone eventually became consumed by Insanity. Everything is grey now, chaotic and bleak. All you can hear are the voices, and the voices of the Queens that reside over you, lording over everything you do. You exist just a little better than a worker bee. Regardless of if you are Human, Halloween, or Horsemen, you are simply broken remains of yourself, mutated beyond recognition. A claw, hand, arms, limbs, everything has merged together in a distorted shattered world. All else you can interpret as you please, including roles and canon. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling at 3: Your character exists in a world where Halloween does not exist. They are Human and they go to a Human high school. They are part of a swimming club, and they are currently about to face a great competition. They know their rival swim team is trying to race against them but they must win the gold medal, for their team! All else you can interpret as you please, including roles and canon. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 4: Your character exists in a part of the wild west, where law is no longer on their side. They must obey the Sheriff, and that is their only singular rule in these parts of town. Their town is often attacked by the unrulies, neighbouring crude towns that reside to no laws. It is up to you to keep your own town afloat, and remember what it means
to be a cowboy. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter,
you are a cowboy, or something that exists in the wild west setting. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 5: Your character has been a minipet their entire life. They grew up in the Scarefari, where their parents told them to go to
Minipet Battle School. Their hopes is to one day breed with a big, strong minipet and create beautiful children. However, on the way there are many adventures, including being bullied by stronger minipets in the Battle Arena, and nearly being sold to the Black Market, or taken to the Altar of Sacrifice. It's a cruel world in the minipet world, and not everyone is out to help them. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter,
you are a minipet, in the minipet setting (anywhere on the site is fair game for interpretation "icly"). You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 6: Your character is a private eye detective, and this time, they have been hired on what is claimed to be an unsolvable case. You arrive there with only your handy notepad and your own, sharp eye. Something about the case seems odd, from the body, to the events happening, something
paranormal. You feel like there is more to the story than what you've been given, but you can't place a finger on it, not quite yet. If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter,
you are a detective, in
Film Noir setting (in the 1930's). You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 7: Your character is a wizard that goes to Pigfarts, the most prestigious wizarding school of them all. It is their first year transferring into the school, and they are scared they will be sorted into Serpentarius, the rumoured "bad group" among the four sorted groups. You secretly hope you will either be part of the Pegasi (hard working, but not very intelligent), Leo (Brave and noble), or even the Capricorns (Intelligent). If you are a horsemen, hunter, or student, it doesn't matter,
you are a student of Pigfarts. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 8: Your character plays This is Halloween, the greatest online MMO ever created. While in reality they may exist as their somewhat boring, ordinary selves (with jobs, or school, or whatnot), online they can be whatever they want. Part of the noble (but human) faction of Deus Ex as a Hunter, or the more neutral faction of Halloween, or even the feared Horsemen faction. PVPs, raids, and even some roleplayed events occur for your character to get loot. Basically, they are humans ICly playing their actual TiH incarnations, feel free to interpret as you please. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 9: Your character only knows about the Arena. They exist in the Arena, they fight in the Arena, they are slaves in the Arena. Every single day, they live, caged, watching countless faces also get roll in, and countless faces die. Every single day they wait for their 99th kill. They are on kill 98. Tomorrow will be kill 99. Tomorrow, they will face -
It is up to you how your character looks, and (optionally) what weapons they use as well as who they face. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
Rolling a 10: All characters in this world have the special ability that when they hit a certain age, they can summon a creature form of themselves. The most powerful are the zodiac creatures, the twelve animals that govern the zodiac (starting with Rat --> Pig), the least powerful are the lesser creatures that govern them, such as pidgeons, etc. When doing this prompt, look at all the minor achievements your character has collected. If you have less than 10, write for a less powerful one, if you have less than 20 write for an average one, if you have more than 21 write for a greater zodiac creature. How do they bond/ what is their role in this world/ how do they communicate with each other is entirely up to you. You are only writing your character's POV but you can borrow NPCs and any players characters you got permission from.
[ After giving these memories to the tree:- You may do more of these if you wish. You can simply keep on writing until you feel satisfied with however many. You can even do a snippet of all ten, after you've done three, you can pick which ones you want to write.
If you do five memory snippets:
The GentleThe sapling seems delighted. You are also given a blessing in the form of just a small feeling of anticipation from the sapling.

The sampling has taken form into a tree! It won't be long now!
