As your hand rests upon the green pillar, you feel something pull at you. Your surroundings grow dark as you are pulled elsewhere. You feel something moving beneath you. The air is pleasant and warm, complete with a brisk chill. Before you can open your eyes you feel something heavy clap your shoulder. With a jolt you awaken, blinking and squinting at the bright light you find yourself facing. Loud laughter erupts from around you as the weight lifts from your shoulder, only to reappear as a quick slap on your back. "Haha! Fell asleep there, eh?" The hand belongs to someone made out of shadows smiling widely at you. They are riding upon a shadowy creature. You notice that you are on a similar beast. Another beast and rider pulls up next to you on the other side. "Come on, it's not that far now. We'll be able to get this all sorted out soon." They nod forward, "See? It's already in sight." You can make out a building in front of you. The building is decorated with figures that have been worn down by the passing of time, leaving them open to interpretation. The building itself looks as if it was carved out of the cliff-side it was built into. Or was it built against it? It's difficult to tell from here. As you look around, you notice you are surrounded by a group of seven shadow-people, each one mounted upon a shadow beast. There is a sense of familiarity about them, then the memory teases itself free: all of you set out together, each unified in a single goal. There is something here, something that is hidden at the end of the map. Didn't you pay a pretty penny for that map? Or did you steal it? It's... it's a bit unclear, and hurts to think too much upon. Your thoughts are shattered as a shout reverberates throughout the area. A dark arrow hisses out of the surroundings, lodging itself into the throat of the shadow-person beside you. You watch helplessly as they fall off their beast with a gurgle, clutching at their throat. "Take cover!" It didn't matter who shouted it; whether it was you or one of your six remaining companions, you now have something else to worry about. He woke up as if from a dream. Or a horrible nightmare, depending.
The ground shifted beneath him just enough to rouse him from his sleep, and the breeze was gentle and warm. As he blinked back to consciousness, Mort jumped as he felt someone clasp his shoulder; loud sounds of merriment erupted around him as he whirled to face seven shadowy people on unidentifiable mounts, all grinning amicably.
"E-Er . . . sorry?" he mumbled sheepishly, for he found that it was not the ground he sat on but a beast much like theirs.
"Don't fall asleep now! We've still got to wait for the other two."
"Or we could go now," one said impatiently, his mount snorting. Mort was trying to remember his name, because they all felt faintly familiar . . . Yes, the nine of them had decided to set out this course for treasure in the building ahead. The map that had led them there was rolled and tucked in his coat for safe keeping.
Cyrus. That was his name.
"We should, er . . . wait," Mort told them, leaning forward against his mount as he stretched. "Should never go without a full party, you know."AyeAvast I give you both permission to name 2 people if you want! Seussi since the 7th will get killed anyway~

Alex awoke, feeling groggy, his brain stretched out into the furthest reaches of time, thin, and incapable of any discernible thought. Well, at least, at first it felt that way, but then suddenly everything seemed to come flying back to him all at once, his brain rebounding like a rubber band that had been pulled back tight and then let go. It was startling, jolting even, and he sat up straight with a strangled sound in his throat. "What...What am I do--Whe--where?" He stuttered over his words, looking around with wide and miss matched colored eyes. He remembered....something. Small bits and pieces, flashes of imagery, of faces...friends faces. Family. A mother, a sister.... His name was Alexander. This all happened in an instant, and an instant later, he realized something else. He was riding on a..something. Something was carrying him across the ground, and when he looked around him, he could see others, shadowy forms on shadowy mounts. "Hey, you all right?" One of the voices called to him, concern laced with amusement. "You need to stay awake, boy." Boy? Had that man just called him a boy? Wait who even was that ma--- Oh, Gerard. Right, that one was Gerard. Anyways, it didn't matter too much. He found that his..ride, whatever it might be, had taken him straight to a group at large, and upon looking around a bit, his eyes caught on somebody who most obviously was not a shadow. "One of these things just doesn't belong here." He said with a small laugh, then looked down at his own hands, one gloved, but in red. A color. An actual color! He looked back up and grinned at the other. "Or maybe it's two thin---wait, do I know you?" It felt, strangely, like he did. Ol-j-man no idea what I'm doing sorry ;;

It is the chill that wakes her. That and the voices. "I think she fell asleep." "Of course she did, her eyes are closed." "Wake her up." "No! She'll fall off! What if she's having a really nice dream?" "Ever had a 'really nice dream' while riding?" "Well. No but--" "Wake her up." Thankfully there wasn't any need as the girl opened her eyes just as a hand touched her shoulder. "Oh! She's awake!" The hand belonged to a woman who smiled brightly and looked up from Belladonna to someone on her other side. With a rub of her eyes, the girl looked from the woman on her left to another woman on her right. And then down at the thing that was moving underneath her. "I-I... Apologize. I did not... Mean to fall asleep." Belladonna began, shaking her head lightly to try and clear the fog. Where was she-- No, no she was... On the road. With Lyra on her left and Stella on her right. They were... Twins? Sisters? It didn't really matter since everything seemed made of fog. They were kind enough (even if Stella looked awfully stern about it all) to escort the girl, flanking her on either side so that their shadowy beasts were close enough that each lady's knee almost brushed the one she was riding next to. That, however silly that may be, only endeared Belladonna to her two companions. "Its ok! We had a long night getting everything ready! And you woke up just in time, there's our group!" Lyra chirped easily, breaking their little line to push her beast ahead as she greeted the others in the group. Not knowing how to actually make the shadow she rode on move any faster or slower, Belladonna held on, her hands gripped onto the reins that felt terribly insubstantial in her grasp. As she neared, a small group of similar looking riders were milling about, apparently waiting on her and the two women. Two of the shadow creatures did not hold shadow people and the witch leaned forward in her seat to view the full color people only to sit upright quickly and clutch the reins to her chest when she realized who they were. "Mort! Alexander! Ah! You're both here!" Her feet kicked uselessly into shadows, hoping to make the creature move faster so she could get closer to the two boys. "Part of our party, aren't they?" Stella asked, still steadfastly following next to the girl. "Yes! Bu-but--" Belladonna did not finish that sentence, instead choosing to pass a meaningful glance to them both along with a smile. It had yet to occurred to her that Alexander might not remember her, for she remembered him quite well. He looked less haggard here, which was something to be grateful for. Finally she was awarded a better look at the two boys as her shadow thing lumbered forward and mostly stopped, bobbing forward and back as it settled down to a full cease of motion. "It seems we are going on an adventure!" The girl chirped with a wiggle in her seat, shaking the reins excitedly. Seussi Oh hey posting I know how to do that

Mort took a moment to stare at their faces, names slowly coming back to him. There was Cyrus and Gerard, the twins...The short chick was Wren...He was trying to recall the last two face when their apparent final party members came. Cue a little bit more staring. "A-Alex?" he said with surprise, and then the familiar chirping of a certain witch got his attention. "Belladonna! Oh wow..." Mort grinned widely, reaching out to take both their shoulders as best he could. "Yeah, we know you," he added to Alex. "You're my best friend! Or zombro I guess, that's what I remember. Excellent, we're all here. So, I have this map." He pulled it from his belt and unravelled it to show them the paths they had marked out. Cyrus rolled his eyes, impatient as ever. "So we have to just go through here," Mort said, pointing it out. "And after some corridors we'll be in the treasury, I think." "You /think/." "I know." Mort passed the guy a look. "So, what we have t'do now is--" Zwish! Something slender and blurred flew just past his neck, burying itself into Gerard's neck. The shadow gurgled something and then slumped over. "C-Cover!" Mort shouted, his mount frightened by the surprise arrow and already on the move. AyeAvast we can just attack the knight Seussi unless you guys really want to sneak

The arrival of the women took him by surprise, and he turned away from the one that he thought he might recognize, finding himself looking at another that was not made up of shades of grey and shadows, but of colors, vivid, real...well, okay, they were actually quite simple, but in comparison to what he'd been surrounded by up until now, it was incredible. And she knew his name? Wait, so did the other guy? Alex glanced between the two, confusion settling in. Mort, Belladonna, the two names rang with familiarity..... And that's when he finally remembered, and his face brightened a little as realization dawned, a large smile splitting his face. "Of course, ya, I remember now!" Well, kind of remembered? He knew that Mort had been there for him during a hard time, and that he had a friend named Belladonna that he had called once....it really wasn't much, but beyond that all, there was a sense of rightness that came when Mort leaned in and put a hand on his shoulder. "Zombro...right, that sounds...familiar." What did that even mean? Zombro? "Best friend." He nodded, that sounded good to him! It was kind of weird, not remembering that he had a best friend, of all things, but he could totally roll with it. "You'll have to forgive me, I uh...don't seem to remember much." He shrugged, still smiling, and awaiting further explanation for what exactly they were meant to be doing here. As Mort pulled out a map, he let his gaze wander a bit. Wait what was that thing coming at the--- Oh s**t. Alexander very gracefully rolled off of his ride and to the ground the moment he saw that sword swinging through the fog, moments before it buried itself in Gerard's neck. "NO! NOT GERARD!" He shouted from his spot on the ground, though really, who the hell was Gerard anyways? Whatever, he was feeling pretty indignant about the attack to his possibly make believe friend, and fumbling for something...a..a gun? When had he gotten this? Well okay then....Pointing the gun at the knight, he pulled the trigger and fired. So Alexander did remember! The girl smiled brightly at him, bouncing a little in her seat. It was so nice someone else besides Mort remembered her! And that was two of the numerous people she remembered in her memories, so that was a really good start. She smiled between her companions, to the two girls and then waved to the others she vaguely remembered. They were still going to help them all with this mission... Adventure... Thing! It was going to be fun! Only totally no it wasn't because then an arrow fell and one of their party members fell. A gasp escaped the girl as she tried to back her mount up, finding it more difficult than she'd expected. The shadowy beast was pacing back and forth, but she couldn't get it to pull back. "C-cover! Uh yes excellent idea just ah um--" That was easier said than done. A bang reverberated near them and the girl found her shadowy stead was not pleased by that. It reared back dangerously and she let out a tiny shriek. Nope nope done getting off now kthx. Once the beast had gotten back down to all... However many legs it had, the girl was quick to scramble off it. A shadowy knight seemed the owner of the arrow and Belladonna was sure she had just the thing to fight a knight: A giant a** sword. With a cry and a swing of her blade she struck the thing, hopping back to smile at the two boys. "S'okay," he mumbled distractedly to Alex, their party scattered as the knight attacked. Summoning his new short sword, Mort hopped off his beast and moved to retaliate-- He got distracted by two things: one, that someone she remembered was a zombie was wielding a gun. What. Second, Belladonna was wielding a really wicked sword she didn't have last time. "Whoa..." Inspired, he spun his weapon and cut a wide arc at the knight from behind, the clang of metal on metal ringing in his ears as he tried to get its attention. "Will be easy. Keep your cool!" he told the party. Alex sort of army crawled across the ground from where he had fallen, his gun held tight in his hand. It was such a small thing, and it had made such a loud noise, and for some reason, he really didn't like it.Noting his friends weapons with a passing glance when both were used to slash at the knight, he had just a moment to feel a large amount envy and jealousy. Their weapons didn't make a ridiculously loud and horrible banging noise! He had been half tempted to throw the gun away and hide the first time he had fired it, and now, he was supposed to do it again? Pushing himself a little unsteadily to his feet, he called out, to both of his friends, but just maybe a tiny bit more towards Mort who he felt might have the same aversion towards guns he was currently feeling. "OUT OF THE WAY!" BANG!Holy hell that was the worst the worst the worst thing ever the woooorrrrst. The loud shout from Alexander made the girl turn toward him, furrowing her eyebrows. "What are you shouting ab--Oh. Oh yeah... Guns." At this she laughed a little, glad she had gotten rid of her own before they set out on this adventure journey. "Here, just let me... Let me handle it!" She shouted, hefting her sword up once more and running toward the knight. With a deep breath she swung the sword and chopped the knight in half. Surprised that that would happen at all, the girl cried out as her sword kept going. She'd expected some resistance and when she got known, she became unbalanced and tripped forward. The sword stuck into the ground and the girl clambered around for a moment. "Hey! It uh... I uh... I killed t?" Were they going to applaud her now? They should totally applaud her. Belladonna looked hopefully at the group with a small smile. Mort was more than happy to jump the hell out of the way once he heard the call. He literally dropped to the ground like a corpse and let them finish it off, covering his ears against the noise. Guns bad. Super bad. Alex had some balls okay. Bells finished it with a furious strike that reminded him of why he should never get on her bad side. "Alright, team!" Mort cheered as he pulled himself up. The wonder trio couldn't be messed with! Although...Gerard. s**t. He rubbed at his neck as he motioned for them to come. "Ah...This might sound rude, but we can't stop and mourn now. We need to keep going and can mourn him later." Even if he wasn't sure about these shadow people... Looking about, he moved forward as the map dictated, leading the group to what looked an ordinary corridor. Mort paused and considered, then picked up a rock and watch as a spear shot out of the floor to knocked it around. "...Okay! Ah." He cracked his knuckles nervously. "Mrr, I'll go first." It was...okay. Sort of. Mort was not particularly nimble however and found it was a little riskier than imagined. There were blow darts, scalding water, and...was that noxious fumes? He stumbled to the round on the otherwise, sputtering. "I-I'm good!" Ummm okay ya, Belladonna, you take care of it. You take care of it good there, lady. Alex could only watch in silent awe and possibly even a little bit of horror as Belladonna swung her massive blade around, catching the knight straight in the gut and tearing him clean in two. At that point, Alex did actually drop his gun, and was quite lucky that in doing so he didn't set it off again inadvertently. Oddly enough, once he let it go it was just...gone? How in the hell did that work, exactly? Would it come back when he needed it again? Anyways, he dropped his gun, and yes, Belladonna, he did applaud you, in slow, drawn out clapping, that if it had been a group effort might have been way more impressive, but as it was, on his own, was no where near as cool. "Wow, Belladonna just....wow." Was all he could say, offering her a wide grin before he went to inspect the remains of the fallen knight, and reached down to grab an interesting looking thing. Loot:  ((Next post I will do the hallway and react to Mort okay? ok.))

((Also pulling what Seu does lol)) Applause, even small and only from Alexander, had the witch curtseying with a grand smile. Yes, that was really all she wanted. Now that she had that, the girl ducked down to grab herself some loot. "I do my best." She told them with a sweet, innocent enough smile. Sure it was laced with some good ol fashioned confidence in herself, but hey! The boys needed to know that she would definitely pull her weight on this adventure. But ooohhh look more shinies!
