Something pulled her forward, everything blurring past until it halted to sheer darkness. After a moment of sense-free stillness, she started to become aware of a few things; one, that there were voices in the background and two, something was moving under her. Before she could open her eyes however, there was a heavy handed clap on her shoulder and a loud, boisterous voice filling the air in a very loud, alerting tease.
"Haha! Fell asleep there, eh?" He was grinning at her from atop a shadowy creature, similar to the one she found herself on. All she could give him was a sheepish smile, but thankfully someone was already coming to her aid. The second figure came closer to her, pointing to the horizon and the building that was quickly coming in to view. It was a beautiful sight, no matter how unusual it was; having something built so extravagant into a cliff side was always something to be in awe over.
There were six others behind her, all of them shadowy faces that she didn't quite recognize. Before she could enquire further, though--
"TAKE COVER!" The large man shouted, pulling her attention towards the task-at-hand.

The warning came, and Amrita found herself dismounting as quickly as she could as soon as she saw the others do the same. She ran with them for cover, watching through the shadows for any sign of an enemy. The one who had been shot was fading away, but there was nothing any of them could do; it was a shame, but that was life. Only the strong survived, or the ones who fought until they broke down.
The fact remained that this place was dangerous, and they had to leave. The Remaining Six turned to her for guidance, and after a moment of shocked silence, she made a decision. They would move around the knights, sneaking out of their sight and to safety. It wasn't worth losing another member of the pack so soon. She gestured, and after creeping to the head of the line, lead them around and away from the Knights.

The building loomed ahead, and Amrita lead them towards it. The Fountain provided a great place for a short break, and did wonders for washing away the dryness in her mouth from nerves. The sneaking had been stressful, and she was glad to be rid of it. Once they were all ready they continued on, heading into the building and coming to a narrow hallway.
At first glance it seemed normal. Ordinary and completely innocent, and then---
The traps sprung to life with a simple pebble toss of the large, friendly groupmate. Well damn. This was going to be tough. Amrita held a hand towards her group, keeping them still as she observed what was happening before them, timing it in her head. Once she had it she took a careful step forward, and a second, and a third.
The only incident happened was a spear launched forward and scrapped her arm but otherwise, she got through it okay, along with everyone else.

There was no rest spot waiting for them this time. The room the hallway opened up to was filled with strange tiles and pillars; another rock was thrown to check for traps, and before it had a chance to bounce it was obliterated. Completely consumed with a sudden pillar of flames.
Amrita gulped, rubbing the back of her neck and casting a nervous glance to the group behind her.
Well, here went nothing...
The first tile she stepped on, she instantly felt better. The wound on her arm healed up great, and life was fantastic...and the next step she took, she felt a horrible CRUNCH before she even felt it. A falling something shattered her arm, and a second one from behind her sent her team mates into screams of pain. Her stumbling after her injury had her trigger another small one, and thankfully one of her bandmates had enough sense to pull her to safety from another.
They had passed the room of traps, and yet they were definitely worse for wear here...
The tile you step on gives way under your feet... and nothing happens. As you step on this tile, something wet sprinkles on you from above. Whatever it was, you feel better. Recover 15 HP. A tower of flame shoots up from the tile, badly burning you. Take 10 damage. CLANG! Something hard and heavy falls from the ceiling. You forget something. You activate a trap. Take 5 damage. You activate a trap. Take 3 damage. A companion reaches out and pulls you to safety! Nothing happens. As you step onto the tile, you are filled with a feeling of... elation...? Recover all HP. A companion reaches out and pulls you to safety, taking your place! Except... they're gone. Lose a companion. CRUNCH. You can still hear your companion's screams of pain as they suffer heavy damage. Take 50% HP loss (ie if you are 30/40, take 15 damage).

Fan...Fantastic.
Amrita gripped her weapon as best as she could, her balance off in light of her injuries. The group was worse for wear, and yet they roared in unison and attacked.

The Guardian was very obviously too much for them, but she never gave up. She couldn't give up. Stubbornness was very much engrained in every ounce of her being.

She didn't quite hear what was being said, but she could understand that one of her team was yelling for her, and suddenly, she was awake. Never felt better in her whole life.
Amrita turned to thank them, but...they were already gone.
With a feral growl she turned, viciously attacking the Guardian, the very one who made her lose a companion. Whoever they were, they would not die in vain...

Amrita lunged forward, a swing of Misty Wrath knocking the Guardian's lance out of his hand, sending it flying and out of reach. The large shade stumbled and fell to one knee before the girl, who raised the weapon above her head...

The Guardian didn't plea for it's life, and so Amrita didn't spare it. The weapon came down on the shade's neck, and in a moment the defender became the executioner.
The shadow faded, disappearing to the fog from whence it came, and yet...
She didn't feel any better.

It took her a moment to snap out of her battle stupor, and when she did she realized there were shelves nearby, with various objects and trinkets littering the old, dusty surface. She had to wonder how they didn't get knocked down in battle, and had to quietly commend them on their resilience under stressful times. Her gaze moved towards a set of grails, and it didn't take her long to spot the grail.
As if pulled, Amrita drew closer, grasping the item between her hands. A stark warning fills her mind...but she doesn't listen. She puts the goblet to her lips, and...

The liquid was cold and very refreshing, and as it washed down her throat a new sensation appeared: a focus she hadn't felt before. She felt...different. Amrita looked down at herself, the stitches that held her arm together turning into scars in her vision. A coat was now wrapped around her, a dark coat with a glowing sigil on the back.
Yes, that was right; she was part of Deus Ex. Of course.
How could she forget the very thing that took her in and saved her life?
One thing became clear to her: She had to find the others.
She grabbed her loot, looked over her shoulder to see that her group had scattered, and then she did the same.
