So, the throne was not something to sit in first. Sigh.

Not, it seemed he would have to make the same journey as the great king. Now Shikoba was no slacker (that he remembered anyway), but . . . Hrm.

These mounts left a little to be desired.

Shik eyed the four tethered creatures, sighed, and took the alpaca. For some reason he felt a little as though he . . . resonated with it. Good or bad, it would be his companion as long as luck allowed.

"Come along then, Deathstrider. This will take a while."

Everything had been going okay, really. Deathstrider was an even-tempered 'paca, and while its wool was a bit itchy, Shik couldn't ask for a smoother mount. It was even a little friendly to him, which was odd since he didn't do much beyond feed it.

It was when he was on his feet to take a rest that he heard the rustles. Growling softly, he turned and jogged back to his camp only to find that half of hid bandages were gone. Damn it.

Apparently Deathstrider was upset too because it snapped at him when he drew near.
