For good or for ill she had picked Pride. For good or for ill she had chosen the golden throne. And what did she get for that choice? She got to ride on some beasts back across the lands to prove herself, to show whether or not she could commit to and overcome some great journey as some great king had once done.
Dumped in front of the ruins of an old shack, in a new world where new experiences could begin, Shaheen--yes, her name was Shaheen, not Sheenah, though there was actually very little difference, found herself staring at the four beasts that she was to choose from, the ones that would carry her across this journey.
She was probably meant to make some kind of wise choice at this point, but if she was being honest, none of these creatures with their hoofed feet really appealed to her at all.
With a small sigh, an almost exasperated sound between clenched teeth she moved forward, inspecting each and every one. The horse was tempting, spirited, though she knew that was not always a good thing. No, for a long journey like this she would need something calm, something sturdy, something that could take it's time when needed and not get tired out too quickly.
She reached out for the alpaca, untied it, and began to lead it a safe distance away from the other three mounts that were left behind. Should she give this creature a name? She knew it was probably a good idea, as was talking to it, getting it used to the sound of her voice.
"Alright then, Dark Warrior."She reached over to give the black alpaca a light scratch behind it's ears. "You're with me. Let's try and make this as painless as possible, hrm?"
Mounting up as though it was the easiest and most natural thing to do, she was ready to go.

Things appeared to have been going quite well. Shaheen, while she had started out murmuring soft words of encouragement to her current mount, had eventually lapsed into a silence, mulling over what she had gone through in these past few days, and over the very few memories she currently possessed, most of which were not the happiest of things.
She reached up to rub at her face with one hand and let out an exasperated sound, one that must have spooked her mount a bit because it began to veer to the side, agitated, kicking a little higher with it's feet.
"Steady, steaaadddy..." She straightened up in her seat, reaching out to give the alpaca a light pat on the neck. "Come on, Dark, do not give me any hassle now. We still have a long way to go."

Her soothing words did nothing to calm the alpaca down, and in fact, seemed to just make things worse. She was patient though, eyes narrowing a little as she concentrated on simply maintaining her balance and not panicking at her mounts now slightly erratic behavior. She continued to attempt to soothe it with quietly murmured words and soft pats.
She was suddenly glad she had chosen a quieter animal over that of the other three.
Finally it seemed to calm a bit, it's ears which had been swiveling in all directions, now pointed so that one was focused on her words, and the other forward at whatever it might hear further ahead.
They were able to continue on.

Back on the road and heading towards what appeared to be a mountain pass. The terrain began to change, becoming progressively more uneven and jagged. She was going to be in for a bit of fun, it would seem.
Maneuvering her mount through the worst of it, Shaheen just kept one thing on her mind.
