Lukarius sat patiently upon his throne, his eyes closed as he listened to the ever growing and waving voices of the death about him. His crystals glowed quite visibly with the souls he's separated and sorted into them. So much so, he thought, that surely even the mortals around him could see their shine and glow. Lukarius had sent out many of his jackals, as well as a few pockettu, to search for one of his lost sheep, and since had been waiting for their return. Be it empty handed, or a fruitful search, Luk merely hoped all of his would come back safely to their eternal place of rest. Finally, after hours of waiting and watching through canine eyes and skull mask holes, Lukarius felt the pockettu he'd sent out returning to his realm. He severed his connections to all of the jackals and masks, focusing only on those coming toward his throne room. " Cerise?" He called softly, hoping the pockettu would come to his throne of her own free will.

Her breathing was raspy and ragged, she'd followed the jackel though as quickly as she could with a terrible limp. Her face bound up on the right side, covering a nasty wound over the eye and the cheek. Though, her ribs were broken, she was pained most of all on the inside... Her scythes strapped to her back, skull mask propped on top of her head where she'd kept it, staring ever at the sky or at a wall, so it would have been difficult to tell where exactly she was... not that she'd been around anyone save for the Cursed General that had defeated her.
She'd walk into the throne room, her dark blue eyes cast to the floor, her soul seemed to be in a panic, it reached for Lukarius one moment, as if beseeching and then the next it cringed away in fear. But she came forward. Step by uneven step until she'd shudder from the sound of her name, coming from her beloved God... She'd lower herself to the floor, painfully... nearly gasping, but determined, she got to her knees before him, "I am here my Lord..." He'd sent her away... and now she was terror stricken that it would be forever, that he'd called her to cast her from his service for good. "You... summoned me...." the question she didn't want to ask got caught in her throat as tears burned in her eyes that were locked on the floor, not daring to look upon him.

Luk could barely see the physical evidence of her beating, from the wrap about her head to the limp. It was the turmoil of her soul that gave him the greatest worry. He watched her as she braved her way to him, listened to her as she spoke, but all the while his eyes stared deeply into the heart of her panicking soul.
He slowly stood, moving slowly to not scare Cerise. "You have been gone feom Purgatory a long time, Cerise...do you not wish this to be your home any longer?" He reached her, raising one hand to place it on her head, gentle as he gave her hair a sad pat. "You fear me, my dear....it is not a look I am pleased to see upon your lovely soul."
Slowly, he bent down to raise her head up with his fingers on her chin. "I did not wish to cause you this pain my dear....but I can not have a peace maker in a war with the likes of the cursed. They are those who would taint and destroy that which I am trusted to protect. The light inside your heart, the soul of all beings, they seek to destroy."
He was silent for a moment, one hand holding her chin so she could not lower her face from his, the other petting her hair. "I am not going to abandon you Cerise...I will not cast your soul afloat in a world as dark as this...but I need you to understand my child...those that are cursed are not but the destruction of my domain and without my souls, where would I be?" He asked softly.

:: Trembling before him, this slight soul wept. Tears soaking the bandage around her head, on the left they ran freely down her pale cheek. Though within her, where her soul was riven during the heat of his fury and her resulting heartache over displeasing her beloved God so. It looked like an angry wound, fresh and yet festering.... the other parts, the colors vibrant and muted both quivered as he approached, much like her body did. "I didn't think you wanted me anymore...." she'd say in a hushed voice that held all off her misery... She gave the slightest jump, a jolt through the tormented soul as he touched the top of her head... Yes, she was afraid of him... or rather, she was afraid of making him angry with her again, more than anything else...swallowing thickly and squeezing her eye closed to make the tears stop, Forced to look up at him... though she had not spoken to the cursed, or tried in any way to strike a deal with them. It had been Venezia.. Even if he hadn't felt like a cursed or any in his camp, she was obviously too foolish or not sensitive enough to know that through his foul association with that General, he was cursed as well as all within that camp... Lukarius was the one who knew, the one that she should have spoken too... But she'd made a mistake, a mistake that made her feel lost in that world he spoke of already... "I have betrayed you, your trust... I didn't mean to... but I did it all the same." her chin trembling on his fingertips... Her soul was still in chaos, still sick with what she had unknowingly done. "I know the cursed are foul... I didn't realize... Venezia was...one..." hiccuping as she'd try to make sense of her muddled thoughts, but being so close to him after being denied his presence for so long...and to be forced to look upon the God she loved so much... who she had hurt so much! "I am so SORRY!" she'd cry out, the had that she could use shaking as she'd tentatively touch her tiny fingers to his much larger ones. "I do understand... but it is too late! I've hurt you...so I'm worse than a cursed! Because I love you and I still betrayed you!..." oh how she hated it, but felt it was true. ::

Luk gave his follower a sad smile before he responded in a soft voice, "My dear, do you know why it is called love? Because you enter into it knowing you will be hurt, and knowing you in turn will hurt others....but that always, there will be forgiveness. Because that IS love. The past is in the past, and there is nothing any of us can do but live through it, learn from it, and always remember to forgive. "
He tried to draw the smaller pockettu into his arms, wishing to give peace to the soul he had damaged in his moment of anger. How such a wound tore at his own heart, for it was not her own pain the saw in the soul, but inside himself he felt as though the same wound wore upon his own. "Cerise, those whom are not with us are those whom will seek to destroy us. We must always be brothers and sisters in arms against those who seek to rid the world of us....even if they walk in the skins of god worshipers. Not all who retain souls can be trusted, and not all gods wish to be at peace. Do not take my temper to mean I do not love you. How could I not?" Luk fell silent, looking off blankly toward the wall opposite them.
"I fear for all in this world, with the cursed running rampant...for that, I caused you such grief. No, my dear, it is I that owe to you an apology. You did wrong by me, but as a parent I am a failure. I should have taught you, but instead I reacted in anger. I only hope one day you can forgive me for that..." He sighed, petting her hair more. "Please dont cry anymore...I so love to see your soul when you smile..."

:: Her soul began to soothe at his words... understanding fully dawning finally as he'd explain just how awful of a mistake she had made... It was true... the God of Carnival's and the Goddess of Hellhounds had been working -with- the cursed... Yet, she'd allowed her faith in those souls that walked within the skins of the two Gods worshipers... her pity for them.. for her own brothers and sisters. "There was so much pain my Lord, everyone was in so much pain... but even more You... I could see how much it hurt You and I wanted it to stop..." She'd flinch and give a bit of a squeak as he'd draw her nearer, even though he did so gently, she knew he could not see her physical wounds and he didn't disrupt them on purpose.. She'd turn her body so the uninjured parts of her rested against him. "It was a foolish mistake... I regret hurting you... more than anything..." perhaps that was what made her different from the cursed... she didn't want to hurt him... she didn't want his hate. That he would think that he owed her an apology, completely baffled her... she'd stare up at him with her one good eye... "But..." she couldn't contradict him... his word was her law... even as she'd displeased him... she ached to think of doing so again by telling him that he was wrong, that she wasn't worth it... "just... please don't send me away... I can forgive you..." in her mind there was nothing to forgive... "just don't let me go...and...and I'll try to smile for you Lord..." though she couldn't remember a time when she had been joyful enough to express it... save once, when he'd given her the honor of serving him... ::

Luk shook his head, his growing eyes looking at her again. "I never meant to send you away from my purgatory. You belong here, with all your brethren. I would never cast out my children from my realm, so do not fear such a fate. You will rest with us all in peace, Cerise. Here forever, in our home of graves and soil."
The god sat there a while just holding his injured follower, his hand never once stopping in its gentle caressing of her hair. He could feel the bandages, and he felt her shift when he had first drawn her to him. Her wounds saddened him, but for now he was just glad she was alive.

*She was wounded in body and soul... but time could repair both. The body would be quicker of course. Though the scars of both would remain... she allowed her eyes to close, her hand resting on coat, fingers curling into the fabric, nodding her head forward so his hand could sweep down her length of silver hair without running into the bandage on top... Resting there, she felt so weary, but so relieved as well. She had been certain that he was going to take back the precious gifts he'd given her... she'd lift her hand to shift the black mask over her face, giving a contented sigh... She would have to be careful, so very careful to never ever anger him again. "So I should have just gone to my room? That's what you had meant when you said to leave?"

Luk sighed, looking down at her with a sad look. "Where else would I send one of my children? I would never send any of my wisps away from me, be they embodied or free. Little one, I care too deeply for each of you to ever send you away." He explained, watching the faint outlines he could see of her mortal body move to pull his mask back down over her face. It made him happy, for he could finally see what she saw and it felt good to have her outlook once more.
"Remember Cerise, though I am a wrathful being at times, I judge all equally here. In my home, even those whom have sin weighing on their hearts can find love and peace." Luk stood up, careful to not joust his follower as he took her fully into his arms and started to carry her back to the dwellings she called home in his realm.

:: She'd give a slight shudder as she was lifted in his arms... luckily her wounds were on one side of her body, so she felt no pain as she rested her cheek against his chest, "I didn't know... I thought you wanted me gone...." forever... blinking her one good eye, she'd peer up at his profile... Unsure if she could find love and peace, outside of being with him... "I have found love and peace my Lord, with you.. that's all that matters to me." it would be more than enough for her, this being that represented all that she hoped and yearned for. "I am... so thankful to be home..." she'd whisper softly. ::

Luk gave a soft chuckle at her confession. "My little lost lamb....I am glad to have you home again." He whispered loud enough for Cerise to hear, before he fell silent. He remained thus, carrying her until he reached her dwelling. There, he carefully set her down on her feet, using one hand to steady her at the middle of her back.
"Your god orders you to rest, Cerise. I will not have your body suffer anymore abuse then you have already taken." He released her, calling forth one of his Jackals. "Should you need anything, just ask. Once you are better, we will speak again." He gave her one of his trademark, bright smiles. "Dont argue and play nicely. Understand?"
