Kyrie had successfully navigated her way out of the pantheon and into the sprawling marketplace. She was a bit excited about this little adventure. She had never gone out into the marketplace on her own. Her mission was clear, at least in her mind, she needed to get some essentials for her new charge. She was taking the role of mama bird very seriously for Maggie (a highly original name for a magpie, of course). She needed something to keep her safe while she was healing and growing and she had not been able to find anything suitable within her home. She would have asked someone to go with her, but everyone seemed rather busy with the tasks they had been assigned as well as keeping everything hidden from their parents. It had just seemed like the best option to head out on her own. It would not take long after all.

... Or it might not have if she had not gotten herself completely and utterly lost. Standing in a crossroads she looked one way and then another. Surely she would find a stall that sold exactly what she needed -somewhere-... she just was not entirely sure where, or how to get back for that matter. But one problem at a time. That is something she was sure her mother would say. It was the most logical option after all.

Thankfully for Kyrie, her savior was on the way, though he was rather unaware of this fact as of yet.

Graff was wandering down one of the roads the little crow goddess had just peered into, seemingly more interested with chowing on the massive monster of a sandwich that he was carrying rather than where he was going. Really, it was a wonder he could open his mouth wide enough to bite into it.

When he spotted Kyrie, though, he nearly dropped it. What the.... ? This was a rather subdued reaction, compared to his initial reaction to Taj, honestly.

A young goddess, I would say. One who looked quite lost at that.

Really ? Sure, Asedri was proof that one of them would certainly take a child as an host, but to actually stay that way ?

What do they say... Ah, 'When a boy god and a girl god really, really like each other...' Nuhava laughed a little. Not that gods were limited to such simple means, but this way the best way for her host to get the point. She looks a bit lost. Perhaps you should go help her ? Her parents would likely be grateful.

Yeah, yeah, on it, keep your panties on. Seesh. Another bite of sandwich would be taken and swallowed before he made his way to her. "Hey, everything's alright down there ? You look a bit lost."

Kyrie looked up in surprise as she was addressed. She had not thought she had attracted any attention. In her mind she had been the epitome of confidence despite her dilemma. She started to answer him, then stopped. Isi was always urging her to be more careful and he was a total stranger after all. But then she felt it. There was a strange tug like when she was near Alva. She knew it to be her Auntie Val that caused that sensation and she narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

"I'm not lost. I just can't find what I'm looking for," she replied with more bravery than she actually felt. "Who are you? Do you know where I can find something for baby birds?"

Ha ! He'd heard that one more than once, honestly ! That did count as being lost to him, though he would wisely keep that to himself. Her way of speaking did not bother him too much, honestly, He figured speaking with a beak was probably pretty difficult.

"Baby birds, hn ? You mean a nest ? Or food ?" Those were quite different needs, indeed.

Kyrie looked away for a moment and tapped the side of her beak as she thought. True, she had come out with the intention of finding Maggie a safe nest, but food was important too, she thought as she looked to the ridiculously large sandwich in his hand.
"Both," she decided with a decisive nod as she turned her blue eyes back to him. "I've got a baby who's lost her mama and she needs a nest and food." Though honestly, she could probably wander out into the garden and find what she would need. Still, it was probably best to converse with experts on the matter, just to be sure. "She's hurt too," she added for good measure so he could understand the urgency of her mission. "Can you tell me where I can go to find those things?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 7:21 pm

Clearly this was a very important matter, and he would treat it as such. "Hurt ? How badly ?" If it was something bad, then it would probably be better to find someone who could try and heal the bird.

"As for everything... Well, I know someone who makes bird houses. Put some grass in here and it should be confy ?" Right ? Graff didn't know much about birds, to be honest.

"Food... Birds eat seeds, right ? That should be findable."

"Her wing was busted. My brother, Isi, he thinks that maybe an owl or something attacked the nest. It killed her mother," Kyrie replied and looked down with a bit of sadness. That had been her first encounter with the mortal side of death, and she was not overly eager to encounter it again any time soon. Especially if it was to be so violent. "Her wing is twisted a little," she continued and looked up at him again.

As he went on, she fluffed her feathers a bit and perked up.
"You know where I can get a home for her?" she queried, then gave a hoarse laugh at his suggestion for food stuff. "Yes! And grubs and bugs and worms and stuff. Birds eat lots of stuff. I'm not sure what Maggie will like though." She paused here and considered him a moment. "My name is Kyrie. What's yours?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 7:52 pm

A broken wing... That could heal on it's own as long as it was locked, right ? Much like an arm ? He would have to ask around later on. That little bird seemed quite precious to her.

"My name's Graff.
And mine is Nuhava. Did you really have to do that ?" Graff rolled his eyes. What if the kid had never seen an host before ?!

Of course, with Kyrie being a young lady, her host would default on being protective. It was adorable, really. though probably not warranted in this case. She likely is aware of more than you think. Her parents - or parent - was likely reborn just like this.

What do you mean, parent ? You guys can split and clone or something ? Why use hosts then ?

That would not give us what we need. You should focus on her, though.

"But yeah, I can get her a little house." The rest of his sandwich would be scarfed down. "In a moment."

He knew the market better from an aerial view, after all. A jump and some pulling would have him and up on a roof quite easily. "Over... There, yeah. Down this street." He pointed in the direction he had come from.

Kyrie blinked a little as the goddess within made herself known, then fluffed her feathers happily. She had been right! He was like Alva.

"Hello Nuhava," she waved to her, then clapped her hands together at his promise. "Thank you Graff!" she grinned, then felt her beak fall open in open awe as the sandwich disappeared. She had never seen anyone eat like that before. That had been amazing! His next moves were just as surprising. Tilting her head way back, she watched him scale the wall to the roof and her hands went to either side of her beak. What she would not give to be able to do that! She would have to practice some time when she was not quite so busy with important missions. Turning in the direction he pointed, she clapped her hands happily once more.

"Thank you Graff!" she called up to him, then started down the street without waiting. It did not cross her mind that he would actually be willing to escort her to the place.

At least this was an oversight that was easily fixed. Graff would hop along a few roofs before catching up with her and jumping back down, landing effortlessly on the rock below. "Hey, wait up ! I didn't tell you where to get the seeds !" He laughed. That kid might look a little strange, but she was quite adorable.

"Though we might as well go get a bird house first." It would not be too long of a run, honestly. "I bet I'll get there before you do !"

Kyrie had slowed a little to take in the different shops and stalls, since she did not actually know what she was looking for. When Graff suddenly appeared from above, she jumped a bit and moved away before she realized who it was. Looking up to the height he had jumped from, she felt duly impressed and turned her attention back to him.

"Oh... right," she replied, as if that had been the only flaw to her wandering off without her guide. His challenge caused her to laugh and she reached out to put her arm in front of him to ensure she had a head start. "Never! I'm really fast!" she called and started running ahead. She had had loooots of practice running chasing after her sister after all.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 8:24 pm

Well, she was quite fast indeed. He would let her win, of course, but before that much... "Oh yeah ? Well, can you do this ?" He would leap at one wall, slinging himself up to what looked to be lantern to toss himself forward.

Hopefully god children weren't breakable. Or better, hopefully she wouldn't try this on her own ! Most of the other marketgoers were staring at them, but he didn't care.

This was something Nuhava quite envied in her host. His adaptability. He had analysed the situation and then adapted into what Kyrie was needing at the moment - a buddy to guide her though this big, maze-like place. This was something she wanted, oh so badly. She wanted that, and his laughter, and his smiles, and maybe even the tears too.

She wanted to understand, this time, not simply be removed from what she ruled. This time, she would. She needed to be even, but being even did not mean she could not feel.

Kyrie rested her hands at her hips as she breathed deeply and gave him a dubious look as the classic playground challenge was issued. However, when he jumped at the wall and then managed to grab the lantern high above their heads, she could only watch in awe again. Looking back to the wall after he had safely landed, she studied it a moment, then found a much lower sign bracket.

"I can do that! That's easy!" she declared and eyed her target for a moment. Without another word, she ran at the wall. Her foot was barely a foot or so off the ground when it connected and she twisted to make a flying grab for the sign. Her fingers connected successfully and she managed one partial swing before they slipped and she fell rather ungracefully to the ground, sending a plume of feathers up into the air around her. "Ow..." Of course, she was not very hurt. It was more the shock of falling and the bruising of her pride that had hurt a bit. Well, that and the scrape to her dark knee.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 8:43 pm

Uh oh.

He would dash back when he saw the crash. "Heh, I do that a lot." Or at least he used to. The cat-like reflexes helped. "Everything's alright ?"

It didn't look like she was about to start crying, thankfully. Crying girls was still something he had not truly gotten the hang of. "Though you can probably fly when those wings get bigger, and I can't. You'll have me beat soon !" He grinned, offering her his hand to get her back on her feet.

Kyrie rocked back onto her backside and lifted her knee to check the damage. It was barely scraped, but it was already darker than its companion. There was definitely going to be a bruise there. But oh well! That was the hazard of showing off sometimes. Looking up as he approached, she reached up to take his hand and lift herself up to her feet.
"Maybe," she agreed with a bit of a smile. Stepping closer to her new friend, she held his hand more firmly. It was her most comfortable way to walk with any adult and clearly he had won her over to be trusted. "How did you learn how to do that?" she asked and tilted her head back to look up at the lantern he had used.
