Sky Village: The Fall of a Nation?

It was a beautiful morning in the Sky Village. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and there was a nice, light breeze to keep the temperature perfect. The perfect day to be outside!

... Too bad Kyo was stuck inside.

Kyo sat at his office desk and gently tap-tap-tapped on his desk, his face resting in his other palm as he stared at the nature outside his window. Even if he had the day off, he doubted he would have done anything with it. He probably would have spent it either hooking up with some of the ladies in the village or sleeping.

Yeah, sleeping sounded like a good idea. Just thought of it made him yawn.

It was so quiet here in his office... alone. He had been here all morning. Part of the reason why was because he was rarely able to sleep most nights... usually kept up by either his own racing thoughts or his nightmares. Sometimes a combination of the both.

What had he even done this morning? It all seemed like a blur to him. Last he remembered, he was staying up drawing plans for a new addition to the village as well as planning training regiments for the different groups of shinobi in the village. Was it necessary to do these things? Of course not! He just couldn't sleep and rather than lay in bed being bored he figured he might as well do something productive. He didn't remember finishing them last night but he had apparently passed out at his desk last night. When he woke up, his work was finished. He wasn't quite sure if he had finished them before passing out or if he simply finished them in his sleep. Either way, they were done and stored in scrolls in his desk. When he gained consciousness, he immediately packed up his things, took a shower to wake him up more, got dressed and grabbed a bite to eat at a nearby cafe... and now he was here.

He looked at the stack of paperwork on his desk. Those were the things he had to sign and approve... Probably the things he should have done last night instead of draw up plans. He simply shugged it off and looked away from the paperwork, pushing himself up to his feet and stretching a bit. His magenta-hued eyes slowly drifted to the clock.

"... She's late..." He muttered to himself. He wasn't angry... he was mostly confused. It was very rare for his little assistant to be late. He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked to his office door, opening it before stepping in to the main office. He glanced around and sure enough, she wasn't there. He closed the door behind him and as he did, he heard a rather familiar voice.

Once he heard the click from his own door shutting, he turned to see Hazel. She seemed a bit out of breath, as if she had run here so as not to be any later than she already was. Kyo couldn't help but smile and chuckle a bit, waving his hand dismissively at her excuse as she took a seat at her desk.

"Don't worry about it, hun! I can only imagine you were able to settle the dispute quickly." He said, wandering over to her desk before leaning against it. "After all, one smile from that cute little face of yours would be enough to make a raging bear stop to hug you." He chuckled, messing her hair a bit under his large hand. "So, out of curiosity, what was it about?" Not long after she arrived, they seemed to have another guest.

He turned his head slightly to see Crystal from the corner of his eye. He gave her a friendly smile as well. She wasn't an assistant of his but he knew her to be a friend of Hazel.

"And to think I was lonely only a minute ago and now I am graced by the presence of two adorable young ladies~!" He chuckled, running his fingers through his powder-blue hair. "Nice to see you again, Crystal. You're looking lovely, as usual." He smiled.

Those who knew the village leader knew how he was. He was flirtatious to the point where it was mostly habit and unintentional. His kindness was often misinterpreted that way.

Kyo watched as Crystal stuck her tongue out him and teasingly returned the gesture with a flick of his own tongue and a small wink. He then arched his back a bit, stretching his arms above his head before lowering them again, sticking his hands in to his pockets. He then turned back to Hazel. "Don't tell me it was Squad 4 again... didn't we have to break them up last week, too?" Kyo sighed, shaking his head a bit in disappointment with a slight shrug of his shoulders.

He blinked a bit, silently listening to the two 'converse', if you could call it 'conversing'. It was more like a one-sided conversation since Crystal didn't really talk... ever. Kyo, having a memory like his, knew that this was nothing knew for her, though. In fact, he didn't find it difficult to decipher her 'interpretive dance moves', either. He simply watched the show and listened to Hazels response, taking a curious look over her shoulder to read the note.

Training, hm?

Well... he did want to go outside, after all.. This could be perfect!

He smiled to the two, a glint reflecting off his pearly whites. "Nonsense, Hazel-chan~! You can finish up this work later. No sense on keeping Crystal-hime waiting, right? Besides, a little training is good for you!" He then gave a short gasp, as if suddenly thinking of a wonderful idea. "I know! How about we all go? You ladies can do a bit of training, maybe we can all pack a lunch, I can go with you and supervise. Maybe give a few pointers. It's perfect, don't you think!? I mean, look at how lovely it is outsi--...!" He cut himself off as he gestured towards the windows... only to frown when he realized the curtains were closed.

He heaved a sigh before pushing himself away from Hazel's desk and walking over to the curtain, throwing them open and turning towards the two again, clearing his throat. "Eh-hem! As I was saying..... Look at how beautiful it is outside!" He repeated, gesturing to the now-open window. "It would be such a shame to waste such a perfect day like this inside when training can be done." He stated, giving the two a sagely nod and placing his hands on his hips for emphasis.

He then looked between the two, nodding again. "Yep, I've decided. I'll go get ready. We can all meet up at the training grounds in a few minutes. Hazel, I'll leave you in charge of what we eat." He smiled. "After all. A ninja needs to keep up their stamina when training. Food is essential."

With that, he disappeared in to his office without another word. This truly was perfect. Goodbye 'stuffy office' and 'mountains of paperwork'! Hello 'doing absolutely nothing'!

Not to mention he got to watch two rather lovely ladies train and spar. Could this day honestly get any better?

He couldn't wait to find out~!
