Your offer your heart and-

Memories. Emotions. They flow through you, into you. Ones that you have regained from your tasks. They shape bits and pieces of you.

Slowly, very slowly, as your Heart is sacrificed, each and every one is ripped away from your center. Your body. Your grey.

You become nothing but only a stream of memories, wrapped in a greater entity. Your Heart finally becomes something far greater.

OOC: MEMORY SOLO THREAD

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. [ The Sacrifice/ "Death Solo" ] : Your character has finally made a choice. They have sacrificed their Heart. This is where you may write your character's final reaction to the choice prompts before they fade away. Think of this as a pseudo Death Solo, as they lose their consciousness. However, while their Heart may fade away, their memories still remain. In your first post in this thread, write a "fading away" post, where they react to their choice in the colour choice prompts (last post) HERE. Make sure you have read THIS THREAD FIRST.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. [ Your Memories ] : After your "Death Solo", where your character has posted in THIS THREAD the last of their Heart fading away, they become something far greater. Memories, not just a Heart. Each memory floats in a space of its own, unique and wonderful.

- Following your "Death Solo" (see above) post, you may now post new memories of your character. They can be any memories related to your character, written in IC rps or newly made background information about your character. They must be prior to this Meta (make some up if you have a quest character, exploring a quest character's background is very interesting!) and must be unexplored memories your character did not remember this point until now. They are only "SNIPPET" memories, not a WHOLE memory. Just bits and pieces, a paragraph or two, a little bit about your character but not everything. You may write one memory snippet for each Greater Blessing your character has obtained. Think of these as mini memory solos, you will be posting as many as you'd like here for yourself, for others to read and experience, but you will be unable to react to others ICly!
- Your character still however cannot remember their actual name. Simply *** out the name.
- Please make a new post for each new memory snippet your character remembers.

In addition:

- For every THREE blue coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a defensive incident
- For every THREE gold coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a proud incident
- For every THREE green coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a creative incident
- For every THREE white coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a sad incident
- For every THREE black coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a vengeful incident
- For every THREE red coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a destructive incident
- For every THREE violet coloured minor achievement you obtained your character may write an additional memory about a reproachful incident

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. [ Regained memories for Part 2 ] :
- All memories you write here WILL BE REMEMBERED BY YOUR CHARACTER FOR THE REST OF THE META SO CHOOSE CAREFULLY which ones you want!
- This is IN ADDITION TO the memories your character gained from the MAIN TASKS ABOUT THEMSELVES ONLY (not other characters memories, only their own). Those memories are already included. Please do NOT write about those ones in this thread.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. [ TIME LIMIT ]
- You do NOT NEED to write as many memories as you have achievements. Simply write as many as you'd LIKE your CHARACTER to remember for PART 2 of the meta. These memories will come to use, help your character gather together, and perhaps become something greater indeed.
- The DEADLINE for ALL MEMORY ENTRIES IS MONDAY, AUGUST 19th at 7:30 PM PST

Did she regret it? Maybe. In hindsight, Ixyguin wasn't sure how she could possibly obtain greater knowledge when it felt like she was disappearing, maybe for good. The emptiness in her chest ached, but it was too late now. She had already given up her heart. She had had no choice but to choose one of them, and for whatever reason, she had found herself offering her heart up to Creation.

And now she felt herself disappearing, starting first with the memories she had only just regained. What had the point of all of this been? What had the point of her life been? Had she just been created to serve as a potential sacrifice for the "greater good"--whatever that might be--or...?

Her name was not Ixyguin, that much she knew. She acknowledged that the memories she saw were hers, and yet they never called her by the name she had adopted in her time here. They called her by a different name in the memories, by her true name. However, no matter how many times she strained to hear it, her attempts at recalling that tiny but incredibly important bit of information had always proved futile. A hiss of static would abruptly cover up the name whenever she tried, as if her mind was purposely trying to keep the information from her, censoring it. But what...?

That being said, there wasn't much point in dwelling over it now. It was over. She no longer had her heart, and without it, she could feel her memories and her body breaking away, bit by bit.

This was the end.

Ixyguin felt only dissatisfaction as she faded away.

He was breaking down. Slowly, but surely he was fading.

He had offered his heart to Destruction, and he wasn’t sure how he feels. His heart doesn’t pull at him anymore, instead the place where it used to be aches. Was there a choice in not offering it? Decyl doubt it.

It’s a little bittersweet now that he thinks about it. He had done so much, and came so far. He even started regaining some memories, but…here he is fading. Was it all for nothing? He really wanted to know if there’s any meaning or anything really worth all this pain. However, no one could answer this question now. Maybe…he can put meaning to it? He did gain all these memories after all. Though they were…no, they are directed to him. The name being said in them might not be his currently one, but that name…the one he cannot recall, it’s his.

He wants to know what it was, he really does. But there isn’t any more time; his time is running out. What was it? What was…

He faded with dissatisfaction.

W-what’s going on?

Klinail was panicking. Their voice was fading, as did their world. Nothing is going right and…and. Their heart. It was gone. They had offered it to Creation, and now there is nothing where their heart once was. The place aches, but they knew it was going to. It was by their choice, right?

If they could cry, they would. But there is nothing to cry over. Their unavoidable fate was greeted by memories. Beautiful memories, but the name the memories call to are…It was their name. The right one, the real one. Not this current one they were using. But…why don’t they know their own name. It was their’s right?

Klinail couldn’t stop asking these questions as they slowly faded into nothings. Their curiosity accompanies them until their last moments.

He was intimidating, especially to a skittish ghoul like herself, but *** knew that he doesn't have a bad heart. For all his indifference and his blunt way of speaking, he had proven in their last meeting that he was actually a pretty nice guy...though Jack forbid you call him that to his face. Still, that was twice he had helped her now--once when she dropped her lunch, and then again when she lost her skull pin. Thinking about it, for whatever reason, she had seen something a little...big brotherly in him, maybe.

Although he had been dismayed by her suddenly adoption, *** liked to think that he had gotten used to the idea eventually. There were fragments of memories, flickers of the various times where she sought him out in search for advice, which he had always patiently provided. Thinking back on it now, her life would have been a lot different had she not had her big brother around.

Fading was not as painful as removing her heart had been. It felt more like coming into existence... Only in reverse. That didn't make sense, did it? Was it supposed to?

She didn't think so... It didn't need to, anyways, if no one else was going to hear it. She was fading. No one would hear her again.

In the final moments she thought of the others that had become a part of her heart. The young man who had named himself as a candidate for gold during the battle that they had both taken part in? What of him? The girl that she had run into too many times for it to have been a coincidence? What of her?

They had names that they had given her; names that she had not remembered... And couldn't call back to mind now that bits of her were drifting away into nothingness. She should have. Even if they weren't true names, as hers was not, it could have been a way to find them again...

A twinge of regret tainted what remained of her thoughts as she drifted. Maybe... Maybe she had chosen too soon. She could have found them again; found them all again. She could have let them know that, no matter what happened next, they were important.

The battles that they had fought were not in vain.

The tasks that they had completed were not for nothing.

Rae wished that someone had made her pause long enough to tell her that.

Her last thought was not for herself, but for them; those that she had left behind without not really knowing. She had nothing but pride for having fought alongside them, for sharing just a bit of their suffering. That pride made what was left of her swell, even as it too started to disappear.

Raedala was fading away...

And she did so smiling.

*** always thought that meeting someone with the exact same dream as you was exciting, and it was clear that Gene thought the same. The look of realization and anticipation that had dawned over both ghouls' faces soon shifted into excitement. They could be business partners! They could have a small, quaint little cafe to call their own. Cakes, sandwiches, tea and coffee...and all of this close to Amityville, just so that they could keep an eye on what was going on.

Shifting Blossoms. They still had plenty of planning and work to do before graduation, but the goal they had set never wavered from ***'s sight.

Her parents weren't really receptive of her post-graduation plans, but there was little that they could say to change her mind. She was determined to open up Shifting Blossoms regardless of what her mother and father thought...and then there was her uncle, the ever-supportive and steady presence throughout her childhood and for much of her teenage life as well. He had known about her wish to open up a cafe--she had been saying so ever since she was a little ghoul--and the fact that she was still pursuing this today had made him smile.

And then he offered to help her. Funding to get off the ground, renovating, a crash course on how to run a business--if *** and Gene needed it, he would be willing to provide it. There was no way, he had said, that he'd allow his niece and her friend's dreams to flop just because of a few minor issues. If they needed his help, he would be there.

They were going to school! This was so exciting! *** chattered happily with their siblings, excited for this new event in their life. Mama had been so proud when they had gotten in, and she had promised that they will learn things not even she nor their fathers could teach them. This is so exciting!

***’s thoughts were cut off immediately as one of their brothers put them in a loving headlock. Nooooo. Q v Q

Unbearable pain. Although the dagger had only been plunged into her shoulder for a minute--seconds, even--it had felt like a lifetime on her end. She twitched slightly as it sent a fire though her, like bolts of lightning that spread outwards from her wound. For those long, seemingly infinite seconds, she almost wished that someone would just put her out of her misery.

And then it was gone. Not completely, but the pain dwindled considerably as the weapon was yanked out of her. Tears gathered at the corners of her eyes, she took in deep, gasping breaths, trying to settle down. She slid her eyes open then, vision blurry as she gazed up at the familiar face of her friend. Somewhere beneath all the gratitude, fear, and pain, a tiny part of her was amused that the blond's hair almost looked as perfect as ever.

[ The Chosen ]

"***, there is something I need to speak with you about." The tone of her mother's voice made it clear that she was not going to accept 'no' or 'go away' as an answer. The elder harpy let herself in seconds later.

"We received an important piece of mail today, ***." Her head tilted slightly and she watched as clawed fingers set a letter bearing the seal of Amityville Academy down on the nightstand by her bed. "They have accepted your application. Pack your bags, you'll be leaving in the morning."

Her eyes closed tightly as she turned her head away, burying her face in the pillow beneath it. The silence lingered for a moment, creating even more of a chasm between them. Her mother left, the door shut... And *** cried.

The foliage had given way to grand splendor of Pride, but she only had eyes for what lie ahead. The crown. Her heart. Hale’s fingers reached up and she had slowly gripped her heart, as if she might have been trying to give herself more time to ponder the consequences of such an action. The action, no matter how fast or slow she carried it out, happened regardless. She tore her heart from her chest, and it hurt. There was a hole in her chest and more than just her heart came out of it. Memories.

Was she still moving forward? Would her memories carry her on? She stepped forward with her heart held and as she faded, more memories seemed to swirl past her. It seemed like others were calling out to her by a name that was not the current one she held, but it mattered not, for as her heart faded, she closed her eyes, and she faded as well.

It was almost like deja vu. *** had never in her time at Amity met either Spinar or Rosy prior to her recent, respective encounters with the two of them...and yet she was somehow already acquainted with them. Although the latter had not remembered this fact, the former had, which was strange in and of itself. All she knew was that it had something to do with that dream she had had--her "other self", the Red King--but that still didn't lessen the oddity of the whole situation.

However, as unusual as it was, *** certainly didn't think it was a bad thing. It was nice when experiences brought people together (even if it was through dreams and "other selves"), and she was always eager to make new friends.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 18, 2013 4:36 pm

She was new here, a first year and the younger sister of one of her friends...and yet she had already inevitably been dragged into this mess. *** just wanted to see the younger students live through their school life peacefully. Making friends, having fun, studying--all the things that most people thought of when they imagined school. If *** had had a choice, she would have tried to defend them, to protect them from the dangers and conflicts that Amityville had been caught up in...

...But it was too late for that. As Sophie broke away from her watch and rushed forward to join the battle, the ghoul lamented how futile it was to keep oneself outside of the conflict. They had no choice--if they wanted to protect one another, then they had to fight.

She hated how easy it transpired.

Hated it.

The hunter tore through her wings with such ease, such diligence, such skill, it was sickening. With a few flicks of his fingers, he grounded her, both literally and figuratively. She had been robbed of limbs she was born with, and she then lay in a pool of her own blood, and was at the mercy of her friends. No, it wasn’t weak to let oneself to be taken care of by those who cared but…

She never felt more weak in her entire life, and she hated it.
