Work was such a bore. Day after day after day Ellie got up and left the house for hours on end. Considering Ellie was like Annie's best friend, this really bummed her out. Most days, Anemone had ********* around to distract her but today ********* had left again. In a better situation than she was in March, Anemone looked out at the April Showers with a small smile. There was hope out there and hopefully a dry cat stuffing her face full of cake.
With no cat or cake to enjoy, and a best friend at work, Annie had the house to herself. This meant that the "nineteen year old" could explore. Did she go outside? Certainly not! With the snow no longer out there, Anemone felt a bit of apprehension at the moment over leaving the house. If anyone asked, she didn't want to get wet. Seriously, you don't want to see her hair wet. What could she explore while not going outside? The Spectre House, of course!
It was a big enough house with a garage and a lot of things. Most of the time she ignored it but when no one was around to distract her those grey eyes of her found themselves widening with a bit of excitement. She didn't have things to call her own so she was fascinated by things that belonged to others. It was fun to look at things, listen to things, and generally window shop. She didn't even have to go to the mall, there was more than enough things here at the Spectre House!
With all their media in the downstairs living room area, there was more than enough things for Anemone examine in an attempt to try and learn English with. Without anyone around to guide her though, it didn't take long before things were thrown and Anemone stomped upstairs to a more friendly place. Friendly places, Anemone took a brief stop in Ellie's room where she looked out the window for signs of ********* and then continued on.
It was a 'secret stash' of clothes that Ellie's mother had that was Anemone's final destination today. Most of Ellie's clothes were all the same so Anemone's sense of fashion had been vaguely controlled by that. It was only thanks to some clothes that Ellie's mother bought in hopes that Ellie would wear that allowed Anemone to not appear as Ellie's clone. Anemone was adopting Ellie's method of speech so the world certainly didn't need them to dress the same too, now did it?
Certainly not something Theodora would have done, Anemone found herself trying on various things and looking in the mirror. She didn't attempt any different hairstyles for the sake of sanity but she must have tried on at least twenty different combination of clothes and shoes until finally she grew tired of that too. There was only so much fun to be had by trying to pretend you were Sailor Iris, Senshi of Rainbows, by trying on as many different articles of clothing based on their different colours.
She considered herself to be fairly successful because she'd found everything except green and indigo so after she put everything back where it was, or at least where she thought it had been, she thought back on it. The yellow had been particularly charming but in the end nothing was quite as comforting as her unicorn hoodie that wrapped itself around her body at the end of her game. None of the stuff here was hers but this single hoodie was. In the end, it was enough. It went over her head and kept her hair dry and that was important when she opened the door to the house and stepped outside.
She didn't go far, nor did she remain out under the rain for long, but even a small step was progress into the right direction.
