It seemed as though it were time for his first battle against the Ayrala Dragons, the clear indication of that being that Eyphah was shoving him out of the cave, telling him that it was time for him to figure out how to deal with the winged fiends. It seemed as though on top of the fact that they liked to stay in the air a lot there was also the problem that they were often seen fighting together in groups. The Ysali were bad enough in pairs but the idea of having to face off with a new sort of dragon, one that had many advantages over him, fighting against him groups... it was enough that already the poor Merkein was shaking in his scales. How was it that Eyphah was so tough? He made it seem as though there were no battle that he couldn't overcome, talking about dragons as one did a prey animal, even talking about how tasty they were! All that Tallulah could think about was how tasty he was going to be when it came to the Ayrala. They were going to find him, beat him up, and make a tasty, Peisio flavored meal of him he just knew it!
Ducking down low to the ground and slowly creeping forward the pretty Peisio did his best to blend in with the surroundings... something he knew that he was failing horribly at. The world around him seemed to be shades of gray rock, something that something as bright green as he was couldn't blend in well with. The only way that he wouldn't be noticed was if one of the Ayrala happened to be color blind but somehow he doubted that he would be as lucky as that. No, instead of luck he would need to rely on skill as far as fighting on Ayr went... an intimidating thought given that he was so new to fighting. If only Eyphah had let him train in Serenia little while longer, he would feel a whole lot better about all of this. That hadn't been an option though, Eyphah didn't want him to get 'complacent' and he supposed that he understood. If he only hunted weak dragons then he would get used to that, if he got used to that when he had a stand off with a powerful dragon he would end up getting stomped. The Diabi wanted to help him to avoid that sort of thing was all. It was kind of him, even though looking at him Eyphah looked to be the polar opposite of kind... it was strange really.
"Phew... alright... Ayrala dragons are..." Where? He supposed that he should look up, huh? The moment he did though he really regretted it, spotting not one, not two, but three of them circling around above him, making him instantly start to quake in fear. No, no, no... this was so bad! They were likely up there planning on how to eat him! He looked from side to side, panic building up in him, and there was a sudden roar from one of the Ayrala above him as though the beast had realized that Tallulah had spotted them. He gave a cry of surprise, throwing himself to one side, as one of them dove down toward him, claws missing but a mere inches, before the next one came after him, then the next one. They were attacking as a group, something that was overwhelming, barely allowing for him to dodge. It seemed that Eyphah hadn't been joking when he'd said that they were the sort that fought in groups. They seemed as though they were really good at it, making Tallulah feel as though he were really far too weak to be here. What if Eyphah was wrong? What if he should still be fighting with the weaker Ysali dragons? This was so bad! With those panicked thoughts going through his mind he set to moving as fast as he could in a zig-zag pattern, hoping that it would make him harder to pin point for the three that were still flapping around over head. It was exhausting though, he was already gasping for air, finding that he rather hated running on land, when he heard a voice calling out to him from somewhere off to the side.
Daring to turn his head from watching the dragons to where he'd heard the voice coming from he spotted an older fellow, a two-legs at that, with horns on his head, standing there waving to him from a dark cave. Tallulah quickly dodged out of the way of the next attack and then raced forward into the cave as quickly as his feet would carry him, and huddled down in it, waiting for the Ayrala to get bored. He wasn't really sure what was going to take longer, the dragons leaving or him finally catching his breath but he figured that he would find out soon enough as he lay there in the shadows of the cave, one that was lit with only a single candle as though the horned man had put out the rest. It was darkness that Tallulah welcomed, not wanting for the Ayrala to see where he was at the moment, hoping it would cause them to grow bored more quickly.
The man chuckled a bit, patted him on the head, spoke of how he was always having to aid new comers to Ayr, before he returned to his tea and a book. Strange, he never thought that he would get help from a two-legs... best that he didn't tell Eyphah about this he thought to himself, thanking the man once the Ayrala had moved on, and he was quick to race out of the cave. The last thing he wanted was for Eyphah to catch him talking with the horned man, not wanting to look as though he were slacking off on his training. Still, that bit of help had been more then welcome since he had been pretty sure that he was about to have the stuffing knocked out of him by those dragons. What a nice man! He'd keep him a secret from Eyphah so that the Diabi didn't get any ideas about eating him he thought to himself as he tried to prepare for the next run in with the silver colored dragons.
