"Don't look at me that way," Kamala said. Scar blinked and turned his head to nudge Junior in the side. The child squalled and made a little harrumphing noise, as if to ask, "What now?"
Now Scar was deliberately ignoring Kamala, and that irked her even more. "I'm just worried," Kamala said, a pleading tone entering her voice. "And I know you've had to move once before already, but you're in danger. Now. I'd say another upheaval is in order." What Kamala neglected to mention, somewhat uncomfortably, was that she was the reason Scar had to move in the first place. She sighed; of course Scar wouldn't listen to her. What right did she think she had to order him around? He was her teacher, not the other way around.
"Do what you think is best," Kamala said. She extended her wings, took one last longing look around her at the beautiful forest in which she'd resided in for the past few weeks. "And I'll do what I think is best. Take care of yourself, and Junior," and she took off.
Far above the forest, she circled ever higher, stalling for time to prepare for yet another long trip away from home. As she broke through the first layer of clouds, Kamala wheeled to the west... toward Aisko.

The flight from southern Serenia to eastern Aisko was much shorter than from Serenia to Eowyn to Ayr. The sun was just setting as Kamala caught sight of the icy continent, the last rays of the day glinting a warm orange off the cool blue ice. It looked like a foreboding land -- beautiful, but cruel. Kamala landed on the smooth glacier-like ground, and immediately her feet skidded on the hard packed snow. Kamala nearly fell flat on her feet before regaining her balance. Before she had time to find her bearings, the Aiskala dragon attacked.
The Aiskala dragon had blended in so perfectly into snow with his hard, white scales that Kamala had not even noticed him. When he wasn't moving, he seemed to become one with the landscape. That was Kamala's first mistake.
Her second was not learning from her first. As Kamala managed to push off the Aiskala dragon's weight off her back, she didn't even entertain the notion that there might be more than one. When the second Aiskala charged into her side, knocking her off her feet, she had no time to counter.
Vines burst through the hard snow on the ground, a brilliant show of green in this land of all white. They grabbed the Aiskala on Kamala, pulling him off the Drakein. Kamala's tail whumped the Aiskala squarely between the eyes, and he went down, dazed.
She could have had him then, but the first Aiskala had recovered and attacked anew. Distracted with fending off her opponents, Kamala did not notice the winds around her growing stronger and stronger. Snow kicked up from the ground as the dragons and Drakein fought, so Kamala also failed to give much thought to the snow now falling from the sky. By the time Kamala noticed that the light snowfall had become something much more, it was much too late. Stinging winds whipped sleety snow into Kamala's eyes, blinding her. Everything felt soaked and cold and miserable, and her body began to go numb. No longer did Kamala care about the Aiskala dragons -- she wasn't even sure if they were still there.
The cold make her mind feel fuzzy, but as Kamala squinted against the white all around her, she held on to one thought: she had to escape this blizzard.
