The sun had come out and stretched its rays over the world it warmed. Birds work and sang in the early sun flying this way and that to catch their breakfast. The forest knew a new set of feet that treaded through its trails. Black robes glided almost care free over the green grass. Pale blue hair caught the sunlight like a little beacon in the shadows. In his hands he carried a book but seemed to carry nothing else. One hand was behind his back as he walked playing with a little ring with a red stone in it. He hummed a little tune and smiled in the light. His path was overgrown and used by only the beasts of the forest. He took his hand from behind his back and with a wave of his hand a section of flowers withered and light flowed from them and into his hand. He smiled as the light gathered in his hand and his fingers closed around it. "Ah...yes. This place is fresh and green...It shall be a wonderful place to live."

Shirina was walking through the forest to the next town, hoping to dance in the large town square. It wasn't far, just past the forest. Hearing a voice through the trees, Shirina crept towards it, peaking her golden eyes between the leaves of the bush, observing the blue haired man with a book. Hm. Wonder who he is... And how much bread that book would earn me.

He continued down the path unaware of the eyes in the bush. He kept one hand behind his back and the other holding his book. He was taking a different road but it was a route that would eventually lead him to the town through a different gate. He walked slowly as he watched the world move his robes were crisp and clean. He didn't seem to be from around these parts. He moved his book hand around his back as well and continued his walk leaving the patch of black earth behind him.

Shirina smiled when she noticed he was heading towards the town as well, hoping that meant she could catch him unawares. If he wasn't from around here, as he didn't seem to be, then surely his possessions were worth more? Shirina didn't steal regularly, only when she needed to eat and her dancing didn't earn her enough coin, but nonetheless, she kept an eye out for marks.

The man paused for a moment and looked around. His eyes drifted lazily over the forest. Light caught the embroidery of the book and the metal studs that held the pages in place. Otherwise a simple looking book but lovingly cared for. He sniffed the air but then moved on this time at a quicker pace.

Shirina followed him into town, noting the quality of the book. It looked nice enough to earn her a meal, but not so expensive that it would draw notice if she tried to sell it, as long as what was within wasn't too obscure. As people began to appear around her, she blended into them, rather than into the backdrop of nature. Appearing to slid between the crowd, Shirina came close to him, slid the book out of his grasp quickly and smoothly, and melted back into the crowd, attempting to disappear down an allyway.

He felt the weight of his book leave his hands. He turned around and saw the crowds of people filtering out to live their lives. He paniced a little as he tried to find it. "Excuse me...pardon me" He sounded polite enough as he caught sight of it for a split second in the hands of some girl with ribbons in her hair. He tried to give chase but the flood of people slowed his progress. He would try follow her down the ally his hands over his head as he still apologised and tried to push through.

Shirina panicked as she heard him following her, attempting to walk even faster as, curious, she flipped it open- startled to find the pages blank. Was it a journal, or magical? Frowning, she glanced behind her, weaving between alleyways, before deciding that, as a nice journal, it would still earn her a meal. But it appears important, and he's caught sight of you. Frowning, and indecisive, Shirina set the book down where he'd run into it if he was following her, and kept fleeing.

He finally got free from the crowd and found his book barely hidden in the dark. He took it and dusted it off. He looked to see if he could spot the girl but she was long gone. He huffed a little and this time put the book in his robes. Back into the crowd he shifted but he still stood out from crowd in his dark robes. He found a baker and paid for a few sweet rolls and took them with him as he wandered through town looking at the houses and the people. He finally waited in the shade of a bar in the middle of town.

Shirina was dancing in the town square within sight of the bar, trailing her ribbons around as people threw coins into the hat on the ground in front of her- it wasn't her hat, part of her routine was to use her ribbons to grab someones hat and borrow it with a wink. Usually whoevers hat it was was in a good mood and allowed it. Noticing the robed man she'd stolen from earlier, and regretting it when she realized just how many coins were in the hat in front of her, Shirina finished up her routine and, shoving the coins in her coinpurse and returning the hat to it's owner, walked over to him. "Hi!" She grinned apologetically. "Sorry for taking your book, thanks for not reporting it."

He had been watching her dance as he nibbled on his sweet breads. "Ah so it was you after all. I couldn't have been sure I only saw you running away." He motioned for her to sit with him at the table "I might ask why you wanted to steal my book though I suppose I can guess" He turned the little bag with the sweet rolls towards her "I didn't call the guard in the hopes I could find you myself and offer you an opportunity to pay me back for the little mistake. My name is Dante."

Shirina gave a sheepish grin, sitting next to him and gratefully taking one of the sweet rolls. "Unfortunately, I haven't quite kicked the habit of stealing for my food, though I try to dance for coin whenever I can instead." She blinked at his comment about paying him back. "Um. I did make some coin just now, but I'm just a dancer, I don't make much." She was sweating, wondering if she needed to bolt. He seemed nice, but if he tried to overpower her he probably could. "I'm Rina." She never gave her full name out on the first meeting, though she didn't tell him RibbonRina was her stage name, when she needed one.

"Oh I don't mean coin. I have all I need of that. However I need some help. As you could have guessed I am new here and am looking for someone who can show me around and tell me about this place." He smiled and was trying to be as friendly as he could manage "More specifically I'm looking into a story about an artifact that was once here long ago."
