A Wandering Esper

Beloved Stargazer

This was the last thing Graff really wanted to be doing.

That thing ? Shopping. More especially ? Clothes shopping. The less he thought about what Nuhava had done to him, the better he felt, to be honest. But when he had realized that he was down to one pair of pants he could wear, well, there was not much choice left for him.

Sure, someone had flooded his room with enough skirts and girly s**t to bury down his bed, but there was no way in hell he was showing up wearing any of that s**t !

So now he wandered the market, going toward the clothiers slowly, though right now he was stuffing his face with some sort of pastry he had picked up on the way, as anyone who knew him might have predicted.

Alva was merely browsing the market, she had never seen anything like it in her life. It was a paradise compared to what passed for a market in her homeland. Here there were spices, jewellry, clothes, many varieties of foods, just about anything you could ever need or want. Back home a market was some stinky cheese, a couple of crippled goats and a gammy eyed old woman selling suspicious meat.

She supposed she should really be looking for clothes, all she had really were the ones on her back and though Ankou's mate had offered her some others she wasn't sure floaty dresses were really her thing. She passed by a weapons stall and stopped.

A shiny new dagger however ... she took a step closer. She could quite do with a new one of those. The young woman reached out to pick it up and admire it for a moment, she half wished she had brought Sann out with her, she would know better if it was good work or not.

Graff would keep walking, chewing on the crunchy chocolate-topped pastry and overall not keeping close tabs as to where, exactly, he was walking.

Which mean he ended walking straight into Alva. And dropping what was left of his treat in the process. "Crap, are you okay ?"

He would notice and mourn the untimely end of his food later.

Alva almost dropped the knife as she was knocked into. He was lucky really that she had been so distracted, her instant reaction would have been to give him a good hard shove back. She placed the knife down and turned to look at him.
"I might be better if people looked where they were going." She muttered.

Within her Val perked up a bit, her reaction would have been to laugh, really it was amazing how the male species ruled some worlds, they could be so easily distracted by anything pleasurable. Alva's reaction of course was to get defensive, but Val was intrigued by something else.
He's like you, god fodder. The goddess laughed at her own quip.

Yep, not happy. Not happy at all. "Sorry, I didn't mean to do that."

Of course he hadn't, but she seemed pissed, so perhaps he should take his leave ? Really, women sometimes... He'd apologized !

There was something about this woman, however, that gave Nuhava pause. She is more than she seems.

Play nice.

Alva breathed in and allowed something that seemed like a smile to form on her lips.
"It's okay." She looked down at the food on the floor. "I suppose losing that is punishment enough. Um, I'm Alva. I live at the Pantheon." That seemed like a good place to start. If he was a host it seemed like the right thing to do to find out which god.

It was only when Alva mentioned it that he noticed his fallen pastry. Damn it, now he would have to go buy another one. "Eh, it's okay. At long as no one got hurt." She had been handling a knife, after all. Better to have his treat fall on the floor than have her accidentally stab herself because he had knocked her.

Still, he would bend over to pick it up, and toss what was left in the trash can. No use being nasty about it, honestly.

"Im Graff." He would say, not sure what else he should say. "So, uh... You've got a rock, too ?"

Subtle.

"Heh, yeah. Valyrmora, Underworld." She hadn't really met anoyone who wasn't tied to the Underworld in some way, she decided this might actually be interesting, someone like her, going through the same thing as her. I'm new here really, The Spirit Guide found me and I agreed to take the task of growing a goddess on." She shrugged her shoulder a little. From the sounds of things it wouldn't have been much of a choice, the goddess had chosen her.

Underworld ? As in... Well... Dead things ? Eesh. Now that didn't sound too pleasant at all. "That's a myth where I come from. A world burred deep within the earth where the dead go. Greek mythology if I remember it correctly."

"As for mine, well, she's Nuhava. Strength." If Alva thought she had it bad, well, at least her passenger wasn't having fun with re-arranging some of her body ! He was still fully male, however, though his hips in particular might make the poor girl wonder.

"Did you want one ?" One being a pastry. Apparently he was eager to replace the fallen. "Or something to drink, maybe ?"

"Yeah? That's sort of like where I'm from." Though in their tradition it wasn't simply a realm in the earth, it was an Other world that lay beyond the mists. Many became lost trying to find it. Paradise. "Strength, interesting." Alva looked back at the weapons on display. "A she?" She looked him over again, that was going to be interesting she decided. "Um, yeah why not." She had eaten quite a while ago. "My goddess is a warrior I bet she'd get on with a strength goddess."

"Yeah, a she." Which had, well... interesting results on him, one could say. He could not blame Alva for not having had the fact occur to her first thing - Graff had not honestly thought much about it until he'd ended up with her voice in his head.

He would walk off once Alva seemed to be done watching the weapons, in the direction of the food stands. "Probably so."

If she could put up with what Graff perceived to be his goddess' bullshit.

Alva followed after him towards the food stalls. She was quite enjoying the experience of all the different tastes and sensations. She was used to the gadgets and the vast differences in the lives of the people around the pantheon.
“I love the food here, back home we’d get excited if we had fresh meat to eat.” She smirked a little. “I’d never even heard of chocolate or cookies or anything like that, and spices. I don’t even want to think about what passed for food back home.” Everything seemed to be so much more alive here, everyone living rather than scraping by and surviving.

"Yeah... Things were really bad where I come from, too." He understood very well how Alva felt. "I had to rummage though dumpsters for a long time." It hadn't exactly fine cuisine, and she would understand - it sounded like she'd had to do much the same thing.

"I've been here for a few years, actually. Things were starting to look better on Earth when I found myself here, but I have no idea how they are now."

He would pause in front of the stand, letting Alva look over the menu and pick what she wanted. "The beaver tails are really good, it's what I had. They're like those long crispy pastries with cream on top."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 18, 2013 7:46 am

((omg beaver tails XDDD yummm))

She would understand for the most part, a dumpster, however she had not heard of. From the context she imagined that it was like a rubbish heap perhaps? They had never had to do that, sure they'd lived off cabbage for months when there had been no meat to steal or kill but they'd never actually had to look for scraps.

Alva glanced over the menu and breathed in the sweet sickly scents, she had decided she quite liked sugary things. They were enjoyable and strangely addictive.
"Oh, I'll try one of those then." She bet Caelia would like them too. The little goddess seemed to enjoy sweet things too. "Have you been a host since you came here?" She was rather curious about the length of time she would be around for.

So he would order two of them and that seemed to be problem solved. Really, he could have eaten ten of them in one sitting if he put his mind to it, though hopefully Alva would not be the one to have to put up with that.

At least Lan was used to his gluttony by now.

"No, not really." He would say. "It's been... Uh, a few months I think ?" It was not really easy to keep track of things here, since everything was always green. He had seen exactly one snowfall since ending up on this world. "It's a little hard to keep track of time here. When I come from, we have four seasons. This seems to be perpetual spring for the most part."

Nuhava seemed to see this as her time. "It depends on the host, the god, and how strong the both of them are, I would say. I do believe the timeframe is different for every individual." Having to nurse a sickly host back to health was energy diverged, and she supposed the same was also true for the gods who had suffered the most from the fading. She seemed to be lucky on both count - her host had already been nursed back to relative health by the two Mysteries by the time she had taken him, and while her memory was mostly non-existent, at least her sense of self seemed untouched.

Graff simply rolled his eyes. "Get used to this. She usually has a comment for everything."

"What ? That was clearly the next question."
