There were words floating about in her head that didn't make sense to her. Vetala? Hunters? Amityville? One of the three she could put some context to, in that a Hunter hunts things...but the others? Blanks were drawn. Several of them, in fact. So she clung to the word that she knew the most, the one that set off a trigger in her head that she couldn't quite put her finger on.
Hunters hunt Prey. Prey were weak.
She was not weak.
Mara growled, almost happy at the appearance of a monster just to her left. It went to attack her, but she grinned a malicious grin, only happily gripping Despair's Razor and sending it swinging into the locked door that was its skull. She heard a very pleasing crack, which eased the ache in her heart only slightly.
Perhaps if she heard that sound again...

He was lost again. By now he accepted it, finding his way out of the fog only when the Goddesses called for him to complete a task. He was growing used to the fog, used to how blinding it was. The sounds of battle drew him forth, spurring him to run and slash at the Insanity being. It was only after he pulled back did he notice who else was there. "Ah, er." He began awkwardly, "Sorry." Marati hopped aside just in time for the Greyling's attack, taking the moment the Monster was distracted as a moment to strike. Her attack, while in an opportune moment, was in an inopportune spot; she didn't want to hit the Greyling, and so couldn't put her strength into it.
"Ah, it's okay. Thanks for joining?" Marati shrugged and then rolled her shoulders, lifting her sword again to try and knock aside an incoming swipe. "I've seen you around." She observed, taking a side glance at him. Twice now, if memory served. Now was the time to be a little more sociable, wasn't it? If she wanted to be like Simmy, anyway. Happy.

The shadow shrugged. He wasn't as vibrant as she was; his sword much simpler in design. At her questions he kept his eyes on the creature, trying to keep himself preoccupied. It didn't last very long. "...Repoem," he said at last, weakly swinging his sword. It went wide, missing. "And you?" "...Marati." She answered softly, alternating between watching him and watching the enemy. He seemed to be having some difficulties, now that she was actually watching him and not just coming across him as the battle ends.
"Maybe you need to alter your grip? Like this." She barely ducked a blow from the Monster, but she lifted her blade to show him how she was holding it - and yes, she was aware of the size differences in weapon - and then turned. "And---like this?" Her arm movements were exaggerated for his benefit, bringing it up in an arc before she threw her weight into bringing it back down, slicing into the thing's shoulder.

The shadow perked up with interest as she raised her hands. He shifted his hands to mimic her grip, biting his lip as the monster took several free hits. When ready he raised his sword up over his head and tried to bring the edged blade down upon the monster's head -- -- And missed. However the shadow continued the motion, bringing his sword down upon the thing's foot. "Yesss!" He hissed, jerking his sword back and out of the creature. "Got it!" "There you go!" Marati's expression brightened at his attempt, nodding with approval. "That feels a little more natural, doesn't it? Keep trying though." Offering suggestions and compliments weren't exactly her strong suit, but it was clear she was trying.
As if to continue being an example, Marati twisted in a circle, using that heavy momentum to swing her sword into the side of the monster. It looked more like she was using the sword as a club, but with the blade on it...it likely didn't matter.

Glowing with praise, Repoem raised his sword up high over his head and tried again. He bit his lip when the monster seized the opportunity to hit him before shifting his weight forward and bringing the blade down on it. "You're getting it~ Keep it up." Marati offered as a helpful suggestion, though she was too busy watching him to really take note of the way the monster turned on her. She managed to bat it away with the brunt of her blade, but that was about it.

Trebor heard the sounds of a battle, and he couldn't get there fast enough. The sound of his footsteps were much like a herd of buffalo slamming against the plain. He leapt up and drove his sword into the head of the monster, before pulling back as the sting of a counterattack smacked him. He didn't even notice there were others involved, but he knew they had to be there, because he could see the monster was already worn down. He was just coming in fashionably late, as always. OOC Name of character: Trebor Damage done: 6 CURRENT HP OF BOSS: 8 Current HP: 35/40 Special ability: Queens Chosen: You can choose three times every battle encounter to double your attack for that turn. This cannot be stacked with other x2 effects. The max attack power you can have is x2 the original damage you do. This can only be used on melee attack dice and not special weapon effects (under the special effect sign). The attack doubled caps at 20 damage (ie: if multiplied x2 I do 24 damage, it rounds to 20) Example: I roll for 12 damage. I choose to double my attack. I do 24 damage that turn. "W-whoooah." Repoem's core glowed brightly as he watched how Marati spun, the grip on his sword loosening as he stared dumbfounded. He jumped when she praised him again, fumbling to regrip his sword the way she had shown him earlier. Sword in hand, Repoem tried a diagonal strike against the fiend. He perked up when his sword sliced along its back neatly, the opportunity presented to hm by the third combatant. Wait a moment -- "I remember you." The monster lunged and Marati knocked it down with the flat end of her weapon. She stood over it then, looking down on it for a moment before lifting a leg, sending her foot right through its cracked face.
"...AUGH GROSS! Why did I do that..." She yelped, then whined, in total disgust as she lifted her foot from the wreckage of the monster, letting the grey pieces fall from her own.
E-eeeew.....

"Holy.." That little girl just curb stomped it. Trebor pulled his weapon back and scratched his hair with his free hand, staring at the mess for a minute before picking up the loot. "That's one way to kill a monster."

The sword clattered noisily from his loose fingers as Repoem stared, open mouthed at what Marati did. He nodded in vigorous agreement to Trebor's assessment. He also sent a quick thanks up to his Goddess over the fact that, currently, she was on their side.Awkwardly Repoem retrieved his weapon before shyly approaching the fiend. "...At least it's dead?" He ventured, cautiously searching it for something useful.
