Ajexil had a very dramatic showdown with the monster. She stared it down. And then it tossed her like a doll. So much for staring it down. "...! WHOA!" Marati cried out, only barely dodging the other girl as she was thrown. Now, unfortunately, the girl stood - err, laid? - between her and the boss. "Sorry about this." It was the only warning and apology that she would express, taking a step or two of a running start before using the girl's prone body as a launch pad. Luckily she was barefoot, or that would have hurt a lot more.

"UUff!" Ajexil was stomped and used as a launching pad for another attacker and it was enough to squish her in and take the wind from her body. It hadn't been very nice but on the other hand, she couldn't blame the other girl. She'd been fighting terribly and hadn't even gotten in a hit. Maybe she'd wait and take a breather. "Come on, you can do it!" This was the most chatty Marati had been in ages, and even then she sounded frustrated. The monster had swung at her; the first blow landed as she urged the girl up, and the second was blocked and knocked aside with her sword.

"It's fine." Marati brushed aside the apology as she knocked aside another attack from the monster, hissing as the vibration from the impact aggravated her wounds. "But I know you can do better than that." It was supposed to be encouraging, but Marati's voice fell flat, just short of the goal. "--We can both do better." She added as a grumble.

Ajexil nodded and now preferred silence. Everytime she teamed with a group the girl ended up performing badly. She really was stronger on her own. She leapt for the monster but it dodged. At least she tried. Well, she was done trying.
Marati only sighed, shifting the way she held her sword before rushing forward, slicing at the beast in an upward angle, catching it in the abdomen and...whatever passed for it's chin.

Acerola saw two somewhat familiar faces, and walked over to help them with the monster they were facing. OOC Name of character: Acerola Damage done: 10 CURRENT HP OF BOSS: 36/60 Current HP: 45/50 Special ability: King's Regret: If you KO, instead of dissipating, you restore yourself to half your existing HP. You can only use this ONCE per encounter. Once you have used it to revive, you cannot use any other abilities (weapon, species, special) period for the entire encounter, including any that double HP, etc etc. You can only auto attack after revival. Species Ability: Ghost: Your first three battles will yield you double the drop. If you get final kill, it still only gives you x2 drops, not x4. As more people arrived, she decided to buck up. She couldn't embarass herself in front of a group! Ajexil darted around the monster and cut sharply against it's legs. More showed up, and both were ones she recognized. The male's attack was dodged, but the girl hit spectacularly - heck, even Ajexil was hitting better now! Perhaps that was the power of a group?
"Thanks for the help, we needed it." She expressed as sincerely as she could muster, though she did mean it. It was getting difficult to fight this thing on her own.
