My name is Starla. I come from a planet called Lumindemia; a world of beings comprised mostly of light. We can generate any form we want at will. We chose the form of the inhabitants of blue planet on the Orion arm of a galaxy known to them called “the milky way”. I had followed my nemesis, Ling Khan, to this galaxy after he learned of the location of a legendary power source called Karma Lunari: seven jewels with extraordinary power that could spell disaster or create miracles depending on who used them. They were to be put on a silver and bronze chestplate for easy handling. Long story short, I teamed up with a group of ordinary humans, we fought many villains who sought to use this power (Ling Khan included), and once the job was done, Ling Khan’s adopted daughter, Sapphira, and I returned to Lumindemia where Sapphira assumed the throne; long before this all happened, Ling Khan had killed her father and I was blamed for his death, but that’s all behind us. In the farthest regions of space, there existed a genocidal order known as the five corners. They insist on playing God; extinguishing any planet they deem unworthy. They’re responsible for the destruction of such Planets like: the Penguin home world, Fluufagon, the plant world of Chloropheden, and Tonar, the world of these ghost-like beings with hair shaped like stalagmites, which communicate by singing, have sampled their wrath; even in the future, the Planet Savpharus has, according to Meerlix. I’m telling you all this, because it has come to Sapphira’s attention that their next target is Earth; it took the Five Corners months to destroy the other worlds, I fear Earth doesn’t stand a chance against them… Operation W.A.S.P. the movie Hell on Earth
On an island in the northern Atlantic Ocean somewhere near Europe, there was high-tech prison fortress for housing some of the most dangerous criminals the world has ever known; sort of a combination between Fort Knox and Alcatraz. The building was in the center of the island surrounded by trees and rocks with security cameras hanging from various branches all around the compound. Two beings appear on the island via teleportation. Appearing by way of a roaring flame was a tall, brown and muscular demon-like creature with devil horns which curled downward to his neck. His eyes were literally two flames pointed diagonally like a pair of angry eyes with them blazing upward at a 45 degree angle. The top of his head was engulfed by flames as well. Appearing by way of a grayish portal which opened up on the face of a large boulder was a Caucasian male with a goatee and head full of short, white hair. His outfit almost resembled that of a genie with his baggy pants that had long, thin brown cloth tied around the waist like a belt, a gray jacket with black tips and thin, golden stripes. He had some sort of crown across his forehead with a red and gold diamond shape on the front. “Today, the human race shall stand before us to await judgment,” the Caucasian said. Are you ready, Dvio?” “When have you ever known me to not be ready, Mogaio?” the demon said as he conjured a sword with a three inch wide lowercase “R” shaped. In the center of this gray and brown length of steel which protruded from the handle firmly gripped between his hands was a reddish-orange line. “I should be the one asking you whether you’re ready.” “I only asked because you’ve dropped the ball a few times on the last world we destroyed. You have only one thing to do this time; keep the guards distracted while I sneak and grab the artifact. You think you can manage?” Mogaio asked. Dvio made a circular motion with his right arm and as he gets rotated halfway, a flame trail appears. Soon after he bring his hand to his face, a fireball builds in his hand, “No problem.” He said as he dropped it to the ground. Fifteen minutes later, inside a security office at the fortress, one of the cameras picks up a thick, black cloud of smoke rising above the tree line. The guard at the console, a dark skinned Indian with a red dot on his forehead sits with his eyes closed and his hands behind his head, daydreaming until an alarm startles him awake to the point where his chair falls backwards. “We have a fire on the southeast part of the island. Send a team to check it out.” One team wasn’t going to be enough. Soon after the first fire, several cameras around the island displayed similar smoke clouds. Security dispatched troops to these locations to investigate. One team actually came face to face with Dvio as he held out his sword. His eyes stared at them as he was peering into their souls. At the blink of an eye, he rushed at them. Tiny sparks emanated from all over his body as the men emptied their clips into him with little to no effect. He took them all down as if they were nothing, but not before the last of them shouted into his coms, “Send backup!” over and over until his voice cut out on the other end and he was killed. Dvio’s destruction took attention away from Mogaio as he infiltrated the fortress and made his way towards the security hold. “We have unauthorized entry to the Security hold.” “Get any and all available units on it right now.” “All our men are currently confronting the other intruder.” “Well pull some of them away to deal with this guy.” “We can’t. They’re dropping like flies out there. There aren’t that many of them left.” “Jesus, who the hell are these guys?” Mogaio bypassed the handprint scanner with little difficulty and as the door opened, he immediately stepped in. the whole place was a treasure trove of mystic artifacts. It took a while for him to find what he was looking for. “Dvio, I’ve found the chestpiece, but no sign of the Karma Lunari jewels.” “Well, then take it and let’s get out of here.” Outside the security hold, there came a thunderous sound; the sound of something large stomping across the hallway floor towards the room. As the sound grew louder, a shadow came into view in the doorway, which had Mogaio concerned. A ten foot tall, tan, metallic monstrosity with a long tail, oval shaped ears, eyes black as night, claws that extend three inches from front feet, and long, brown, pointy spikes on its back, slowly marches through the entryway. It stared at Mogaio and Mogaio stared back. “I’ll get back to you in a minute, Dvio.” The beast follows his every move as Mogaio moves sideways through the maze of items with several Shuriken grasped in his hand. The beast tramples several statues and sends various items flying across the room with each swing of its mighty tail. Mogaio takes his throwing stars and hurls a couple which stick to its armor. Three minutes after impact, they explode in a cloud of smoke which enveloped the beast. But as the smoke cleared, it was apparent to Mogaio that his weapons posed no immediate threat; the beast remained unscathed. He reaches a wall and uses it to bounce into the air where he proceeds to land on the beast’s head. the beast tried to shake him off, but Mogaio held on until he pulled out two gold handle daggers from his side and stabbed them into the creature’s neck; a trail of oil oozed out onto the floor as the beast convulsed and made the sound of a dying animal. Finally, the beast threw him off. The daggers still remained lodged in its neck, which messed up its targeting system. It looked at Mogaio with a red readout screen and large circle with a plus sign bouncing across it as it tried to lock on to his position. Several small holes appear in the crevices between each of the creature’s spikes. Out from the pitch black and seemingly empty spaces, red circles arise: missiles. The creature fires its entire payload at Mogaio, prompting him to think quickly. Mogaio drew more shuriken and with precise aim, he threw one each at the tip of the warhead as he moved in close. The beast rose up off its front feet and slashed violently, but Mogaio ducked and dodged gracefully; raising his right leg, he kicked the beast’s paw back. As he lowered his leg, the beast drew forth with its other paw and makes contact. Mogaio is sent flying towards a stack of gold statues that had been knocked over from the beast’s previous rampage. “Mogaio, what’s taking you so long?” “These humans are more advanced than we think. I’m going head to head with a guard bot as we speak and it is durable.” “Well, time is short, Mogaio. We need to get out of here.” “I agree. We got what we came for. Let’s move onto plan B. Ignite the Voltumian Powder and blow this place sky high.” Mogaio takes a small bag from his pockets which contained some sort of powder and proceeds to throw it in the beast’s face. The powder gave off a brilliant flash upon impact which blinded it long enough for Mogaio to make for the exit. Once outside of the hold, he fights his way through a small amount of soldiers towards the main entrance where he meets up with Dvio. In their escape, Dvio shoots a ball of fire back down at the island in exactly the right spot. The fireball generates sparks as it hits a small, brown bag hanging from a tree. In a chain reaction type event, similar bags which have been placed all around the island do the same. After a few seconds, the whole island was rocked with a massive shockwave and engulfed in flames. At another location an hour later, Samuel paces back and forth as he gives a speech which sounds like he was addressing a squad at an army boot camp. It was later revealed that he was inside a gymnasium and the people he was talking to were college kids on the school’s basketball team. As he passes by a Black Kid with curly brown hair, green eyes, and a mole on his left cheek, the kid starts to giggle. “Something funny, Mr. Daniels…” Samuel asked with his back turned to him. “No sir…” “I didn’t volunteer for this just so we could be the laughingstock for every college basketball team in the state. I’m not going down like that. We’ve got to work harder. Losing is not an option.” There was a man in the doorway behind Samuel; China-white skin, tall with a lithe build, large brown eyes and luxurious, straight, black hair. He sported a green camo military uniform and beret: sort of struck you as the high-ranking type. As soon as his team noticed him, Samuel turned around. “You’re dismissed.” Samuel instructed. Now that he was alone, the soldier approached Samuel slowly. “I’ve retired for the second time. I am done with this superhero business.” “I’m sorry, Mr. Grant, I wouldn’t bother you like this if it wasn’t urgent. I’m told you’ve had experience with this sorta thing.” When he presented Samuel with the file, the look on his face said everything. Samuel saw photos of an island; a top secret military facility, which was no longer existent. There were also pictures of Dvio and Mogaio causing all kinds of trouble for the army; all for the sake of the chestpiece of the Karma Lunari jewels. A legendary power source Samuel and his team once fought over with various extraterrestrials who sought its power for their own personal gain. “They were taken an hour ago.” “Any idea who these guys are?” “None. They weren’t exactly in the talking mood. The big one with the horns was the decoy while ninja boy here snuck in and grabbed the chestpiece.” “I’m done with the Karma Lunari. It’s not my responsibility anymore; it’s yours. Since you were so ignorant as to try and experiment on it.” “The jewels are a renewable energy source.” “An uncontrollable one. You saw what it can do in the wrong hands. Just take a look at most of eastern seaboard. Your boss is making the biggest mistake of his life.” “I tried explaining this exact same thing.” “Why is it they don’t listen ‘til it’s too late? You know what, fine. I’ll do it.” “Great.” The soldier answered while he and Samuel were walking. “Though this does mean I’ll have to reassemble the team. Max and Willis I can get. Maybe Caitlin and Alex; Phoebe and Zierian I’m not sure about. Zierian’s the one who used to guard the jewels long time ago with his team until his brothers, Celsior and Farenhart got greedy and wanted to take them for themselves. If you want him, it won’t be easy. Meerlix is a definite no; he’s back in his own time. As for Starla, Willis’ girlfriend, she’s worlds away. We can’t count on her.” “Which is why I feel we should hold auditions for new members.” “Auditions? We’re trying to find new rangers, not put on a Broadway play. You can’t just get anyone for this.” Meanwhile, Adoiarte, a Caucasian male with yellow, cat-like eyes, dark, scruffy hair, attire composed of mostly brown and white armor, a jacket which was draped across his shoulders like a cape; silver, metallic patch over his right eye, and a shiny black prosthetic leg more advanced than anything on earth in a sense that it is virtually linked to his nervous system; making him have fully functional right leg. He is able to bend it at the kneecap and his ankle like he would his other leg. This man, along with Dvio, Mogaio, and two others sat in front of a round, stone table inside a cave with red flames on all the torches in the room. On the right side of Dvio, sat Lucren Sugaro, a tan skin individual with red hair which was spiky on the top; on the back of his head, his hair started from where the spikes ended and ran down his back to his waistline where it sort of blended with his red cape which also stopped near his waistline. On Dvio’s left side, there was a mysterious hooded figure with glowing red eyes named HK. HK sported a slim, black armor with thin, orange stripes over the arms, the feet, and most of the chest area, and a reddish-orange cape. On his right side he had a Samurai sword in a red sheathe with white, decorative patterns. On top of the hood which covers his face were short, pointy, yellow cat ears. “My friends, today the human race shall stand trial. Their crime: greed; they fight over such trivial things and pursue every means of destruction upon themselves and the very world see fit to call their own. They don’t deserve this planet and it’s high time they realize this truth,” Adoiarte said. “Their deaths will be swift.” HK replied. “Using the power of the Karma Lunari, we shall carry out our plan to rid the world of this infectious disease known as the ‘Human condition’.” Adoiarte went on to explain. “HK, you’ll be our appointed treasure hunter. You will track down the seven jewels for us.” “I will not fail you.” “Lucren, gathering the jewels and the chestpiece are but two pieces of the puzzle. For us to succeed, we will also need this…” Adoiarte slides a beige folder across the table towards him. Inside it was a file on a rare metal called Poseidonite. It was a shiny, pitch black stone almost like the color of a lump of coal. “That there is goes by many different names. One name that is easy to remember is Poseidonite. It is a Meteoric metal. Not much is known about its true origin, but many have theories that it comes from Mt. Olympus and was used by the almighty Zeus himself.” “How will this help us?” Dvio asked. “I have found a scientist who I think can help us with harnessing this rare metal’s power for our own personal gain. I shall ‘have a chat’ with him, see if he will help us.” “You realize what you’re saying is you want to recruit one of these savages to destroy his own planet, right?” “Trust me, Mogaio, he will be more than happy to help. You know how persuasive I can be…” Adoiarte replied with an evil grin. Meanwhile in Russia, a Large, white semi-truck traverses the streets of Moscow in the dark of night with a cargo of dozens of rare paintings, sculptures, and jewelry which were stolen from some museum. News about this came across the desks of one Alex McLaren and Caitlin Rose, Samuel Grant’s friends and former teammates who are now two of the best artifact recovery specialists in their field. The truck was being escorted by two jeeps; one in the front and one in the back. the mercenaries in these vehicles were given the order to open fire at the slightest hint of trouble, so Alex and Caitlin couldn’t just do a full frontal assault. After careful planning, they spring into action. Using a car battery, Caitlin managed to make a powerful magnet. Her part of the plan was to latch onto the underside of the truck, so she made her way into the sewers where she climbed a ladder and popped the manhole cover in the middle of the road their target was assumed to be taking. Caitlin cautiously peeks out to see if they’re coming and then ducks as she prepares the magnet. After the first truck had passed, she holds up the device, which quickly pulls her up out of the hole and attaches to the bottom of the trailer the truck was hauling. The driver of the truck behind her was still unaware of her presence as she repositions herself for the next phase of the plan. Alex was up the road at the intersection on a motorcycle, awaiting their arrival. As he waits for his opportunity to pounce, it came; Caitlin generates a large, red laser beam from her eyes powerful enough to create a pothole in the road. It was too late for the driver to do something and as he ran over it, his vehicle turns and involuntarily does a somersault. The more it rolled, the more damaged the asphalt did to it. Alex handles the other truck. Pulling a handgun from his holster, he takes aim and fires a single round just above the back wheel on the left before he starts the engine and gets up alongside the trailer. After climbing off the bike onto the side of the trailer and hearing it tip over and get crushed by the rear tires of the truck, Alex had assumed the form of something small; a spider. The driver looks at his side mirror to investigate. When everything seemed fine to him, he focused back on the road in front of him. At the next intersection, the convoy makes a left. Caitlin waits until it is safe before she climbs out from underneath the trailer and joins Alex. The two of them race towards the front of the semi together and leap onto the roof of the cab with a loud thud. This alerted the guys in the driver and passenger seat, but it was too late for them to react. Alex and Caitlin synchronize their efforts as they use their sidearm to break the glass, reach for both men with both hands and pull them out. As the enemy rolls along the ground, Alex grabs the steering wheel to keep the truck steady as it slows to a stop. The driver of the jeep, who was now several yards away, looks in his rearview mirror and also slows to a stop as he notices Alex and Caitlin hijacking the truck. After they turn the corner, he quickly turns around and pursues them. Alex looks back at the incoming jeep with three armed men sticking out of the windows; two on the right side and one on the left, “Contact rear!” he says to Caitlin as the bullets start flying. Caitlin looks in the side mirror only to have the gunfire knock it loose, “I thought you were gonna set the charge…” she scolded. “I uh… I did. I accidentally dropped the remote as the truck ran over the bike.” Caitlin gives him a disapproving stare. “I told you I should’ve flown in.” “They’re coming in on my side!” Alex looks over to his right. The jeep was already neck and neck with theirs, so Alex quickly turns the wheel and bashes into them; they do the same. Back and forth they went until Alex finally got rid of them by causing them run into a small, black Sedan and turn over. “Alex, eyes front!” Caitlin exclaims as she points out HK standing right in their path. “Who the hell is that?” HK draws his sword with his eyes still focused on the Semi racing towards him. Using his lightning quick reflexes, he zigzags left and right and uses other cars on the road to leaps onto the hood where he jams the tip of his blade; piercing the engine with one deadly strike. Alex skids to a halt and he and Caitlin get out with their guns drawn and quickly take aim at this mysterious assailant. “Get down off the truck and raise your hands slowly.” HK acknowledges their request while at the same formulating a plan to get into the cargo they have stored in the back of the truck. “Who the hell are you?” HK remained silence while another copy of him materializes behind Caitlin and Alex. “Contact rear!” a voice said out of the blue before a shot was fired, which took down that particular copy before it could attack them. “Drop your weapons.” “Now, who the hell are you guys?” “Samuel sent us. He has an important mission he wants you to be part of.” “Fate of the world is at stake.” While they talked, HK creates another double, which moves towards the back and opens the container; looking past all the gold statues, paintings, and priceless works of art, he stumbles upon a shiny, blue gem; the Star of Pisce. “Guys? Where’d that guy go?” HK jumps out from behind the door to the container with the jewel clutched in his hand and the soldiers take aim. “I got what I came for. I’ll just see myself out.” “Hey, is that…” “The Star of Pisces.” Alex re-equips his firearm. “You’re not going anywhere.” “Was wondering when I’d get to have some real fun…” Since they quit Operation W.A.S.P., they had to turn in their weapons. Alex and Caitlin were without their peacock fan blades and scorpion saber. They had their guns and a baton similar to what cops use; black, extendable, sturdy. From a distance, they resort to using their handguns. Each round goes straight through HK’s body as he projects holograms of himself while at the same time zigzagging across the asphalt. The real HK appears to Caitlin’s left with a Shuriken in hand which he throws; aiming for her wrist. She drops her gun instantly. Alex then strikes with his baton, but due to HK’s lightning reflexes, he blocks with an upward slash. As the baton is pushed away, HK looks towards Alex’s chest with his beady red eyes as he cuts across diagonally with a downward slash. Caitlin’s pupils turn red, indicating she was about to use her laser vision. She hits HK directly in the stomach and sends him flying. As the soldiers stand back, watching, one of them can’t help but ask, “Isn’t there something we can do?” The one man who was actually trying, had his assault rifle pointed towards the three, “I can’t get a clear shot. This guy’s bouncing all over the place.” “Wait, they’re gloves.” The man gets their attention. The moment they get time to look away, they see the black gloves the rest of the team wore back during the old days; the ones with tiny teleportation pads over the fingers on the palm side. They were color coded, so it made easier for Alex and Caitlin to know which one was theirs; plus, Alex’s was the only one with a white outline around his first initial since his ranger color was black. They slip their gloves onto their right hand and get into position to call forth their weapons; Alex takes his right hand, places it behind his head as if he were drawing a sword from a holster mounted on his back. He then shouts out the name of it, “Scorpion Saber!” and his weapon materializes. Caitlin holds both her right and her left hand front of her waist; her right hand on top, she holds her hands as if she were carrying fans, “Peacock fan blades!” One of them appears in her right hand facing up while the other appears facing down in her left hand. Before they had a chance to get re-acquainted with their old weapons, there came a voice from out of nowhere; Mogaio’s voice. He spoke to HK and interrupted his “fun” as he so elegantly put it. “Forget about them, HK. Finish your assignment.” “We’ll continue this later.” He said as he flashed the jewel and mysteriously vanished from sight. “Who was that?” “C’mon. Mr. Grant can explain as soon as we get back.” “We’re still on assignment here,” Caitlin pointed out. “We need to get these artifacts back to the museum. We’re ARS.” Alex flashed his badge. “You’re welcome to follow us if you’d like.” Meanwhile, Samuel and the soldier from earlier take control of an auditorium on the campus where Samuel was previously coaching. They set up a sign saying auditions for new Gaia Rangers and waited for applicants. Within the hour, they received more than a hundred people. Everyone who walked through the doors paid close attention to the sign as if stated which positions were currently open. Max and Willis were already onboard to save the world once again, so the red and green ranger colors were scratched off. The sign was self-updating, so the rest of the colors remained available and until Samuel received word that Alex and Caitlin were onboard and their positions were filled. Only colors that were left were Meerlix’s color, blue; Meerlix was no longer in this timeline, Starla’s color, white; she returned to her home planet of Lumindemia along with the rightful ruler, Sapphira, a girl who was brought up to hate her for a crime she did not commit; and then there was Phoebe Dallas’ color, brown. Not much was known about her; whether she went back to the rodeo or decided to permanently retire and work on her ranch. Samuel automatically assumed he couldn’t count on her; the gold color was Zierian’s and it was reserved until they could find him. He resides with his shield. Samuel was certain the shield was still in the present. He was counting on it. Without it and the eight medallions, how could his team gain full access to all their suit’s functions? Samuel went through all the potential candidates one by one. They step onto the stage, into the spotlight and answer all the questions he had to offer. “I don’t know why I let you talk me into this?” Samuel mumbled to the soldier next to him. “Look, you wanna fill the empty positions or not?” “Of course I do, but this isn’t the right way to go about it.” “Sorry, ma’am, we’ll just be a minute.” He said the brunette woman on stage. “We don’t have a lot of time here, alright? Let’s just do this and get back to the mission.” “Samuel here, go ahead…” he answered after pulling his cellphone from his pocket. He pulls away after hearing what the caller had to say, “Everyone, something suddenly came up. I’m sorry for my departure, but I leave in the capable hands of Mr. Lundy.” He leans over to him and mumbles, “They found one of them; London, UK.” “The roster outside is self-updating thanks to my super-computer, Megan. If all spots are filled before the rest of you have a chance to audition, I apologize in advance. You’ll be heavily compensated.” Heading out the door, Samuel then dons his ranger form, taking to sky within seconds of his transformation. Half an hour later in London, this mysterious stranger looks down from a 13-story building overlooking a crowd of people gathered outside of a 3-story building with spotlights waving back and forth near the main entryway. He watches them all like a hawk perched atop a skyscraper as he tries to spot his intended target. He was supposed to be arriving via black limo. He pulls out an old fashioned pocket watch and checks the time. As the seconds hand passes over 12, a black limo turns the corner and stops in front of the building. “Gotcha.” The guy says to himself before he turns and walks away in a sinister fashion. He reaches the ground floor and dons a disguise; something less conspicuous. In doing so, he casually strolls through the crowd, following his target up the stairs and towards the double doors. “Invitation, please…” “Yes of course…” he pulls a seemingly blank piece of paper along with something else; a dagger, but not just any ordinary dagger. The blade was an emerald green with jewel encrusted gold handle. As he hands the paper to the man, he touches the tip of the knife to his chest and sends a wave of green light through him. As the energy surged, the man’s eyes gave off a slight green tint before they returned to normal. The man then looks over the blank page as if something were written on it, then gives it back to him before letting him pass. “Thank you.” Meanwhile, back at the lair, Lucren Sugaro returns and it appears he is triumphant. He tosses a piece of Poseidonite to Mogaio, “Found it in a mine just north of some village in east Africa. Wasn’t that hard to find; well… in a way it was.” “How so?” Mogaio asked. “The native were being... difficult.” Lucren recalls the events that transpired moments ago. It was the dead of night as he stood before an African tribe wearing grass skirts and weird designs drawn on their faces and a huge, roaring flame in the center of the village. As they kneeled before him, he paced back and forth while the only member of the tribe that spoke English fluently translates his words. “It’s a very straightforward question. Just ask them where the rest of it is.” He takes the man by the arm and turns him so they’re facing each other. Assuming the man did not understand, he starts using charades as well as explains what he’s looking for. “Big, black stone. Very valuable. Tell them everyone here will die if no one starts talking.” He turns him around and pushes back towards his people. “After much coaxing, they finally led me to the mine where I had them working; harvesting every last bit of the precious metal. But suddenly, two guys in multicolored suits drop in, literally…” Max and Willis land in front of Lucren who was sitting on a lawn chair near a fire, watching the villagers go push mine carts in and out of the cave. “Just who might you two be?” “I call on the power of… Green Wolf Ranger!” “By the roaring flame, Red Wolf Ranger!” “We’re Gaia Rangers. Operation W.A.S.P..” Max and Willis said together. “Never heard of you; Love the colors though. But as you can, I’m quite busy here. So whatever it is you want; you’ll have to come back later.” “We’re here to stop you from doing whatever it is you’re doing.” “What are you all looking at? Get back to work!” he shouted at several men and women staring over at him, Max, and Willis. “So, you’re here to stop me, are you? Do you think you have what it takes to defeat me, Lucren Sugaro? Surely, you dream…” Lucren prepares for battle by getting into a boxer’s stance. He rotates his right arm so his palm’s facing up and gestures his opponent to come at him. The two of them rush him with both fists clenched. Lucren blocks the right arm of Willis with his left palm and redirects it to Willis’s left as he throws a punch to his abdomen with his right. He then takes his left hand and wraps it around Willis’ next, putting him into a guillotine as he brings his knee in range of his stomach. After one kick, he lets go of Willis who is then pushed back by the blow; Max steps at this point and throws a left hook. Lucren ducks under it and spirals clockwise with his right elbow out and hits Max in the chest and then spirals back around counter-clockwise. As he spins, he raises up and brings his right leg alignment with Max’s pelvic region. The kick was powerful enough to push Max in the opposite direction. Willis rushes up again, but a few seconds after he gets in close, Lucren hits him dead center in the Solar Plexus with the first two knuckles of his left hand; Willis clutches his chest a few seconds after he stumbled backwards. Max keeps his distance and fires a rocket from his wrist, which gives off a big explosion upon impact that sends Lucren sliding back on his heels. “Is that the best you possess? I’ve have Tonarians put a better fight than you two; and they mostly fight using sound waves.” “I’m sorry… how is any of this relevant?” Mogaio asked. “Yeah, what about the rest of Poseidonite?” Dvio asked suddenly. “I’ve secured a truck. It’s taking the rest of the metal to a shipyard, where it will travel the rest of the way to the coordinates specified. “Now all we need is a labor force.” “Simple: we do what Adoiarte’s doing; recruit humans.” “Leave that to me.” “To you?” Lucren asked Dvio. “Adoiarte not only one with powers of persuasion...” “Oh really…?” “Really,” he said with a wink. “Alright then… we’ll leave this up to you.” “This oughta be good,” Mogaio mumbled to Lucren. Meanwhile, somewhere in Washington State, HK tracked the location of the next jewel somewhere here. This was the third jewel he found so far. He raced through the forest town at the speed of sound, only stopping once in a while to look check his surroundings. He saw no sign of the jewel, but he figured he was getting close. Another 40 acres later and he sees a glimmer in the distance behind some flowers; a white light with a brownish border. He moves in for a closer look. He pulls the flowers out of the way and reaches for it. “And that makes three; the star of Pisces, the Star of Andromeda, and the Star of Taurus.” Back in London, several minutes later, the villain makes his moves. He first waits for the target to descend the staircase before he follows. His target was Dr. Olen Pearson, a wordy gentleman with round brown eyes. His fine, curly, medium-length hair is the color of desert sand, and is worn in an artistic style. He is very short and has a masculine build. His skin is pale. He has small ears and a small mouth. His wardrobe is strange, with a lot of orange. He studies the movements of the man’s bodyguards and moves into position to take them out. He decks the first on his right with a strong back-fist to the jaw and as he fell down the stairs, everyone stared and gasped. Meanwhile, the guy strikes the rest of the guards with precision and speed. After they were all incapacitated, he grabs the guy by the shoulder and drags a few feet before he pulls out his dagger, touches it to his heart, and does the same thing he did to the guard at the front door. Everyone else in the build then decide to flee. The first few who made it to the door saw them close in their faces all by themselves. They try pushing the bar thing to open them, but they wouldn’t budge. “Do not fear what is about to come. Embrace it; just like all those who came before. Those who you’ve slaughtered; some of them were killed simply for their land; land, which you’ve desecrated for the sake of shopping malls, parking lots, movie theaters, etc. etc.; others you’ve killed because they were not like you and had different ideals, different beliefs. All of them men, women, and children who have just as much right to live as you do. You humans are greedy, vindictive, and vain and it is time for all this selfishness towards each other, all this self-destruction, it must end. It is time you faced judgment. I and my band of cohorts will be your judge, jury, and executioner.” Just then, a stray beam of energy comes out of nowhere and strikes him down.” “Court’s adjourned, beasty…” “And just who might you be?” “I’m ‘your’ judge…” Samuel said ambiguously. “Most amusing. Well, whether you decide to tell me yours or not, mine, for the most part, is Adoiarte. I feel I owe you that much before I kill you.” “Disillusioned with overconfidence; hardly ever see that quality in a bad guy; a man, or woman, who thinks they have a chance. I’m that way, too. We’re not so different, you and I, except for the fact that I came prepared and you didn’t.” floating just outside the window behind him was a silver and blue hover jet with mounted machineguns on the top and bottom of the aircraft’s nose. Inside the cockpit was a green-haired, Caucasian woman in a black suit and a familiar face of an old friend, Bayard. “Adoiarte, drop the weapons and surrender as once.” The lady pilot instructed over a megaphone built into the aircraft. He gripped the handle of his sword and drew it slowly, which caused Samuel to react; he fires his repuslor beams out of his palms, but the second they reached Adoiarte, he drew his sword and he cut through them like loaves of bread. Next, he took aim at the aircraft using his right hand as he clutched the dagger. He sends a beam of green energy through the tip which speeds through the air like a glowing bullet, tears through the glass pane, and up to the aircraft. The pilot narrowly avoided contact. Samuel surprises him with a quick left punch to the jaw; Adoiarte reacts like any normal fighter would, but then swings his sword upward from the left and as he hit, he sends Samuel spiral onto his stomach. Within seconds of falling, Samuel spins around with his left leg sticking up, and kicks Adoiarte in the back of the knees; he falls over with a soft grunt and rolls onto his back. at this time, Samuel is standing up and preparing to attack. Adoiarte sticks his right leg up and as Samuel leans forward to strike, he uses his leg to flip him over. Samuel is flung towards the front door where Adoiarte continued kicking him. After several more kicks to the abdomen, Samuel knocks the door off its hinges. At that time, everyone who was trapped inside with them made their way towards the exit. They maneuver around Samuel as he spirals down the steps and hits the bottom face first; Adoiarte wasn’t that far behind them. he carefully descends one step at a time; his sword gripped in his left hand. “I can’t get a shot,” the woman said to Bayard. “You’re gonna have to go down there.” Bayard acknowledged. Samuel waits for him to reach the last step before he rolls on his back, fires a flash grenade from his shoulder directly at Adoiarte’s eyes, stand up and surprises him with an elbow to the chin. All Adoiarte could see was white light as he blindly swings for Samuel and misses several times.

Samuel gets him with a knee kick to the stomach and Adoiarte gets lucky with an uppercut to Samuel’s chin; Samuel stumbles back and Adoiarte leaps into the air and with his fake leg, performs a spinning kick aimed at the jaw. Samuel ducked, grabbed his foot, spins, and releases him away from the crowd.
Adoiarte pounds the asphalt with his fist, leaving a small sinkhole. He gets up in anger and turns to Samuel, who was ready and waiting.
Bayard, who was standing behind Adoiarte, taps him on the shoulder and gets his attention. As he turns around, Bayard waves at him while smiling heavily and then balls his fist. With one punch, Adoiarte was down, but not out. But for some odd reason, Adoiarte surrendered.
“Alright then… cuff’em and let’s get moving,” Samuel said.
In the air above European airspace, our heroes travel west as they head back to the mobile aerial command base. Samuel and Bayard stand guard over the prisoner.
“They didn’t tell me they were bringing you in, Bayard.”
“I volunteered for this; something inside me told me to show up at that auditorium. When I got there, I saw they were holding auditions for new rangers. Wasn’t sure what it meant at first, but then as soon as I stepped on that stage…” Bayard pauses dramatically as he shows Samuel his morpher. He was the blue ranger.
“The Blue ranger. Meerlix’s old color. Good for you.”
“So what’s his story?”
“Well, you already know his name; Adoiarte. That’s about all we know about him,” Samuel whispered, thinking Adoiarte couldn’t hear him.
“Well, I was hoping he’d put up more of a fight. I mean… he kicks your a** and then just gives up? What’s that about?” Bayard whispered back.
Just then, the aircraft was hit by an unknown force. The jet shook like it was on the ground caught in an earthquake before stopping.
“What the hell?”
“I’m gonna check it out.” Samuel replied as he opened the door. He then greeted with another familiar face as Starla drops down on top of the hatch door carrying an odd looking white staff. On the upper and lower region of this strange weapon was the sun cut into two halves. One half was facing the upper right and the other was facing the lower left. The two halves of the sun were just half circles with diamond shaped petal things that represented the sun’s rays. Starla shoves Samuel to one side with it and fires a ball of light from her palm to push Bayard back. Then she focuses her attention on the handcuffed Adoiarte sitting on the right.
“Starla, what the hell are you doing?!”
“You know her?” the pilot asked.
With angry recognition, she grips him by the collar, picks him up, and makes her way to the rear of the ship where she and Adoiarte jumped out.
“Think maybe she’s working with him now…?”
“I dunno what the hell she’s playing at, but I’m gonna find out.”
“Grant, we need a plan of attack.”
“You sit here and plan if you want to; meanwhile, she’s getting further and further away.” Samuel dons his ranger form for second time and leaps out of the ship.
“He’s not doing this one alone…” Bayard morphs into his ranger form too and bails out.
“Talk to me, Joanna, what’s happening?”
“We have a slight problem, Mr. Creed. That Starla woman showed up and made off with the prisoner. Grant and Bayard are tailing her now.”
Hensol Forest; a few minutes later: Starla drops Adoiarte from several feet up. As he lands on his back, she lands on her feet.
“So I finally get to the meet the one who’s been tailing me all over the galaxy.”
“Spare me the pleasantries, Adoiarte. What are you planning now?”
“All business I see…”
“I am not in the mood!”
“You’ve been here over a year; you should know what they’re like. You should realize why this has to be done. The earth is not well. It has been this way since the dawn of man. If I’m not the one who is meant to judge this insipid, selfish race, then who?”
“There shall be no judgment… for any race. You and your cohorts stop this here and now.”
“I don’t think so. You see, when I open the gates of Tartarus, and unleash every manner of unholy beings that dwell within, it won’t just be this world that will suffer, it will next be yours, and soon the entire galaxy.”
“That’s not going to happen on my watch.”
“Oh I don’t think you’ll be getting my way. You’ll be much too busy fighting ‘him’,” using Samuel Grant as a distraction, he points to him as he’s flying in their direction. Once Starla looks over to her right, Adoiarte reaches for his dagger and with just a light tap to her chest, she was now under his control.
Samuel barrel rolls to his right and sweeps up Adoiarte in a single tackle. The two wrestle around a bit until Samuel finally pins him down.
Adoiarte chuckled.
“What’s so funny?”
“Oh I think you’ll find what I’m thinking about quite amusing. See, you’re going to let me up, and I’m going to walk away.”
“You’re right, I do find it amusing. What’s makes you think you’re going anywhere else except for a holding cell?”
“That…” he said, pointing his eyes at Starla, standing still on the cliff facing a rock wall.
“What did you do to her?”
“Let’s just say I ‘opened up her mind’…”
Starla then turns around and leaps off the cliff towards Samuel and Adoiarte; landing on her feet with a thunderous quake, which quickly subsided after three seconds.
Adoiarte pushes Samuel off of him and gets up and brushes the dust off his shoulders.
“Starla…” Samuel coughed as he struggled to get on his feet. “What the… hell are you doing?”
“Reasoning with her is useless, Samuel…”
“You know what, I’ve had enough of you.” Samuel points his arm back and knocks him for a loop with a repulsor beam.
He tumbles and rolls backwards towards Bayard.
“Starla, I dunno what it is you’re playing at, but this is a serious matter. We’re talking end of the world as we know it. So c’mon, stop messing around. Let’s take the prisoner back to…”
Starla cut him off. She brushes his arm off her shoulder and then pushes him away. She raises her staff from the bottom left and uppercuts Samuel into one of the trees.
“Okay… definitely gonna feel that one in the morning.”
Adoiarte chuckled.
“Bayard, stay with the prisoner; Starla and I are gonna have a lil chat.” Samuel got up and faced her again.
Starla twirls her staff in a windmill-like motion, alternating from her left to her right. doing so created a wind, which held Samuel back while her staff glowed a bright white. Both halves of the sun generate enough energy as they get brighter and brighter. At Starla’s feet and head, Samuel saw two balls of light appear. Starla’s staff made contact with them and hurled them at Samuel. Seconds after the first two were launched, several more appeared and soon Samuel was bombarded; sparks literally fly off his suit from each projectile. Samuel could no longer stay on his feet. He slid backwards towards Bayard and Adoiarte at a slow pace.
“I’m wearing her down,” Samuel chuckled.
“This I can see…” Bayard said sarcastically. “You need any help?”
“No. No. someone’s gotta guard the prisoner.” Once Samuel got up, Starla attempted the same move on him twice; but he wasn’t going to fall for it again. Using his left hand, he fires a repulsor blast to knock the weapon from her hands and with great speed, he flies towards her. At the halfway point, he descends, sticks his right leg out, and performs a sweep. Starla was sent for a loop instantly.
“Sir, I’m picking up unusual brain activity from Starla,” Megan replied.
“What have ya got?”
“That’s just it, sir, I don’t know; all I’m seeing is a green aura which is affecting her motor skills. It’s the same as the energy that surrounds Adoiarte’s dagger.”
“So that’s what he meant by ‘opened her mind.’ Megan, how do I break the hold he has over her?”
“I… haven’t got all the answers, sir. But I’ll let you know when I come up with something. By the way, she’s attacking again.”
From out of nowhere, Samuel was rocked with a left hook. He kneeled due to dizziness while Starla continued to march towards him. Starla throws her right leg out to do a frontal kick, but Samuel intercepts. He pushes back at her shin with both hands, activates a hidden compartment full of mini-rockets in his shoulders, and locks on to her. The rockets make impact with tiny explosions, which push her back and gives Samuel time to initiate an attack. He rushes her, grabs her by the pelvic region, lifts her, and body slams her.
Starla lies there for about 10 seconds while she waits for Samuel’s next move and then her body starts to glow. She turns into tiny balls of light and shoots off in a million different directions.
Bayard and Adoiarte were both shocked.
“That’s impressive. I’ve never seen her do that before.”
“Quiet you…” Bayard said to Adoiarte in a stern tone.
Starla’s pieces reassemble in the air above Samuel and shoot down like a comet. As she hits the ground behind Samuel, the light takes on her human form once again and Samuel notices her come in for a sweep kick; so he leaps into the air with the help of his propulsion system. Three feet off the ground, he then performs a flip; turning sideways in midair, he summons his Katana and waits for Starla to regain her human form. When she did, he struck her hard to the side just under her armpit. Instead of blood leaking from her temporary wound, light shone through.
Starla continues to slide towards her weapon. She picks it up and turns towards Samuel with a green flash passing over her eyes and quickly fading. She places both hands firmly on her staff, moves it to her right side, and twirls it. time seemed to slow down as her staff twirling got faster. The two halves of the sun glow brightly, but this time instead of emitting several balls of light, the two halves joined together towards the center of the staff, which prompted her to stop twirling and start spiraling. She held her staff out as she twirled counter-clockwise 180 degrees and bats the large ball of light in the direction of Samuel, who instead of dodging it, just stands there. The blast knocks him back a few yards, but instead of falling on his back, he stayed standing.
“What happened?” he asked Megan.
“Solar panels have been activated; power is now at 450% capacity.”
“Now it’s my turn…” Samuel said with a smirk as he held both palms out. The blast from both palms was enough to send Starla flying back, cutting down several trees in her path. After she crashed through the fourth tree, Samuel zooms in close, grabs her by the collar and pushes her even farther away from Bayard and Adoiarte.
Starla takes control of the situation and turns Samuel so he’s facing the Cliffside they were about to crash into. After Samuel’s back hits the wall, he takes the both of them even higher where he proceeds to spin around and toss her back to the ground. Once he lets go, he feels himself being pulled by an unknown force. He looks at Starla as her left hand glows and then notices himself being pulled towards her as she falls.
It took the both of them a few seconds to reach the ground. They land several feet apart and immediately get up. They race towards each other with anger in their eyes and one arm drawn back.
They get in close to each other, but before one could strike the other, the black and orange ranger drop in and stand between them.
“Okay, that’s enough from both of you!” Caitlin said, holding Starla back.
“What the heck’s going on here?”
“She’s under some sorta spell by Adoiarte.”
“What do we do?”
“Megan’s… still… trying to figure that one out; I am too.”
Using all her strength, Starla breaks free of Max’s grip and then grips her staff. She holds her staff on her left this time as she prepares to perform the same one again.
“Alex. Caitlin. You might wanna move…”
Caitlin and Alex did as Samuel asked, but instead of moving out of the way, they move to his side. With their combined effort, they form a protective shield made of nano-bots in front of about 6ft high and 5ft wide. All the nano-bots worked together and pushed the projectile right back at Starla at the same rate of speed if traveled towards them. The impact was enough to knock her off her feet as well as cause another effect. When she got back up, she looked herself up and down and then looked all around her like she had no idea where she was or how she got here. “Samuel? What just happened?”
“Starla, you’re back to normal.”
“You were put under a spell by Adoiarte.”
“The last thing I remember was taking him away from some ship and we crash in the mountains somewhere.”
“Speaking of which, why are you here? What’s your involvement with this guy?”
“Willis, I think that can wait until later. Let’s get back to the aerial command center.” Samuel holds his left wrist to his mouth and activates his communicator. “Bayard. Bayard, come in…”
“Samuel, where the hell are you?”
“We’re on our way back now. The situation has been resolved.”
“That’s good. Adoiarte was getting on my nerves.”
“I think we’ve done enough sightseeing for one night; let’s get’em to lockup.”
As soon as they return to the base, several armed guards were waiting to escort Adoiarte to his cell.
A familiar face, who everyone, including Samuel, thought was dead, Daniel Creed, was waiting for him as he trekked the long corridor.
“That was quite a show you put on in London. I assure it’ll be your last performance for a long while,” Creed said as the guards placed Adoiarte in a cylindrical glass tube about 5ft in diameter.
Adoiarte remains silent as he smiles back at Creed from inside the glass.
Meanwhile, in another part of the ship, Samuel and the others sit down at a long, rectangular table in a conference room surrounding by a thin pane of glass in an arch, which separated them from another room with rows of people sitting at computers, which were used to run the ship.
“Samuel…” Starla said nervously as she was going to ask him to marry her.
“Yes, Starla, what is it?”
“I’m sorry.”
“What do you have to be sorry for?”
“I was… aware… of what I was doing. I just couldn’t stop myself. I…”
“There’s no need to apologize. I understand you were under a spell.”
“Who the hell is this guy anyway?”
“He’s the leader of what is known as ‘the five corners’. Their names; obviously, you’ve met Adoiarte, their leader. The rest of them are HK, Mogaio, Dvio, and Lucren Sugaro.
“We’ve met HK. He kicked both our asses and made off with the Star of Pisces,” Alex explained.
“Lucren, we met that guy in Africa at some mine. He had the natives carting some black stone out of the caves.”
“By the way, what is that stuff?”
“I don’t know…” Starla answered.
“I had my men research it. It is known as Poseidonite. It’s some type of rare metal,” Creed answered.
“Wait, I thought you were…”
“Dead, we know,” Willis interrupted Starla.
“The day that Janis tried to kill me, I had taken a drug which lowers the heart rate; makes it seem like you’ve flatlined. When he threw me off a cliff, I had landed in just the right way so the branches could catch me.”
“If you faked your death, why’d Wulf find your body in the morgue?”
“Oh, that was just a double in case Janis came looking for me.”
“What’s Poseidonite again and why do the five corners need it?”
“I think it may have something to do with some place Adoiarte mentioned as Tartarus.”
“You mean to tell me they’re planning to destroy our world with a Greek Myth?”
“Someone wanna explain to me what Tartarus is?” Starla asked.
“In Greek Myth, Tartarus was a place of torment and suffering for the wicked; a prison in the underworld run by Hades.”
“The Poseidonite must be the key to opening the portal. Poseidonite, Poseidon, God of the sea.”
“That still doesn’t explain why they want the Karma Lunari…”
“Well, for whatever reason they want’em so bad, we have to make sure they don’t get to use them.”
“They’re too powerful; even our suits by themselves are no match for them.”
“That’s precisely why we need to find Zierian’s shield and reunite the medallions with the suits.”
“But wait… Bayard’s blue ranger, Max and Willis are the red and green rangers, I’m the white one, Samuel’s purple, Alex is black, Caitlin’s orange; that’s makes only seven colors.”
“What about Joanna? She seems like she’s ranger material based on her past history.”
“No way. Brown doesn’t suit me well. Unless…”
“No.” Samuel said. “The Gold ranger powers stay with Zierians. Without him, we won’t be able to access the medallion’s energy.
“Sorry.” Joanna said with a surly attitude. “It doesn’t hurt to ask you know…”
“Samuel’s right. in Zierian’s time, he was the leader of the original nine. He fought alongside his two brothers, Celsior and Farenhart, and six others: Chlorpinella, Cirrasia, Violet (vee-oh-lay), Crimsonia, Quazo, and Terraniis. That was, until Celsior and Farenhart betrayed them. They killed everyone except for Zierian.”
“Why?” General Creed asked.
“They didn’t have the chance to; first, the power of the Karma Lunari cursed them, all three of them; then Zierian sealed them away in their own elements out in space.”
“You don’t kill your family…”
“Danny, my man, if you were at my house for the holidays, you’d be singing a different tune,” Alex said.
“What I’m curious about, is why they need Olen Pearson?”
“Olen who…?” Bayard asked Joanna.
“Olen Pearson, he’s the guy Adoiarte nabbed in London. According to Megan, he’s a well-renowned astrophysicist. He’s had a bit of experience with this metal called Poseidonite. My guess is they need him for something involving it and this portal to Tartarus,” Samuel explained.
“Well, Legend has it there’s a really old machine hidden out there somewhere that was used to open the portal in the past. I’ll bet Adoiarte and his goons found that machine and realize there’s a link between it and the rare metal,” Joanna finished.
Sometime later at the location of the Sea of Tartarus; the sky above it was riddled with dark clouds, inverted whirlpools, heavy rain, and thunderstorms. Way below sea level, however, was a giant, metal ring the size of a football field, hollow on the inside and full of high-tech machinery from a time far more advance than that of our own. The ring itself was attached to a large, rectangular prism floating that was sticking out of the water by a couple of inches, which serves as an entrance.
Dvio, Mogaio, and Lucren along with Dr. Pearson arrived at this location sometime before Adoiarte’s capture. Dvio, who had brought with him, a variety of men in orange jumpsuits; former prisoners of some correctional facility; most of them hackers, murderers, doctors, some of them even served in the military before assuming the life of an average citizen.
“Put that over there.” Olen said to two of the men Dvio employed as they carried a large crate across the lab floor.
“What exactly is this place? Where’s the entrance to Tartarus?” Mogaio asked.
“Down there…” Olen pointed. “Judging by those rods that are feeding from this ring to the ocean floor, this appears to be some sort of conduit box or generator.” Olen answered while Lucren Sugaro stared through a glass window in the floor at a faint, tiny red glow twenty-thousand feet deep. Way down below, in the rim of a volcano, there was a giant hole in the ground with a grate over top of it as to keep something out; or in. occasionally, there would be an arm or two that stuck out of the hole, trying to latch onto anything it could find. “With all seven jewels, we should have enough power to open the portal, but it won’t stay open long without some Poseidonite. In theory, Poseidonite is able to control the water through the use of anti-protons. We can use it to separate the part of the sea over top of the portal; whatever is inside will meet with little resistance when coming out,” Olen went on to explain.
“The Poseidonite is on its way to a port somewhere in Florida. We will intercept the container housing that component once it docks,” Lucren said.
“Well now, all we need the jewels.”
“I’m working on it. The last three are difficult to find.” HK said.
“And you call yourself a treasure hunter…”
“That wasn’t me. The boss said that.”
“You’re saying our glorious leader was wrong?”
“Well, no… I just…”
“Just what?”
“The boss isn’t going to want any excuses, HK, find those jewels.”
Back onboard the aerial command center
“You know, Willis wouldn’t stop talking about you; ever since you left. You were the best girlfriend he ever had, well the… only girlfriend he ever had.”
Starla looked over at Samuel confusedly for a second, but then it soon registered in her mind just exactly what it is he meant, “Oh right, the whole ‘android’ thing.”
“Yeah…”
“You mean to tell me in all your years on this rock, you never found your one true soul mate?”
Samuel realized that she was referring to the fact that he had created robot sons instead of settling down and having a real family, so he answered, “Well, when I was in grade school… girls weren’t exactly pining for a guy like me. I couldn’t defend myself or them if I needed to, I wasn’t the best looking either. Women usually go for the strong type. On a rare occasion, you’ll find the type of girl who will look past the muscles and the outer appearance so they can get to know the real you, ya know…”
“I know the feeling.”
“So what was his name? The guy you were interested in?”
“His name was Orianos. We started out as friends when we were young and over time have grown very fond of one another. That day when I had underwent that test of Fidelity given by the spirit of the white medallion, I kinda hoped its test was real. I got to meet Orianos again. We had broken up months before I traveled here, to Earth, following after Ling Khan. I would still be back on Lumindemia, trying to rekindle what little spark Orianos and I had left, if it wasn’t for Adoiarte.”
“When you had taken him from us back on that plane, I wasn’t sure what to think. I had almost thought you sided with them.”
“I wanted to take them back to my world so they could face justice for their crimes throughout the universe.”
“Operation W.A.S.P., please report to the conference hall,” a voice over the P.A. system repeated twice.
General Creed was the first one in the conference hall.
“We’ve sent out Morse code to every one of our agents in the field; one of them reported back with positive news about your shield.”
“Morse code, eh…”
“Only way to communicate with them and not blow their cover…” “But that’s not the point; two of our agents working on an illegal arms dealer in Venezuela named Herman Garcia, found something. A large, golden shield fitting your description is sitting in a display case in his study.”
“Caitlin and Alex can handle this. Retrieving artifacts is their area of expertise.”
“He used to be a jewel thief; I used to be a street thug,” Caitlin said.
“Who are the agents working this case, so that Caitlin and Alex don’t accidentally blow their cover?”
“Kate and Nate… Marsh.”
“Wait, thought team S.S.O.R.D. was disbanded. What’s going on here?”
“They missed all the action and adventure, so they re-enlisted. You know, Bayard, it’s not too late for you to…”
“No way, General…”
“Willis, you go with them.”
An hour later, after Alex, Willis, and Caitlin depart, Joanna takes a stroll down to the holding cell with a lunch tray. She sets it down on the large, rectangular slot to Adoiarte’s cell.
“Is this supposed to be a peace offering or something?”
“No, it’s just lunch. Even people like you need to eat.”
“There are no people like me and my friends.”
“There are always people like you.”
When Joanna’s back was turned to Adoiarte, she takes a couple of steps towards the exit before Adoiarte’s words make her pause.
“If you think going after Zierian’s shield will make your team stronger, you’re wrong. All the power in the known universe can’t stop what’s coming.”
Joanna turns to face him with a serious expression on her face.
“See, this is mankind’s final hour, you can defy your judgment all you like, but in the end... all your feeble attempts at survival will be all for naught as these creatures lay waste to everything you hold dear. And with the earth rid of you, life shall begin again.”
The voice over the PA system comes on again, “We’ve got multiple hostiles inbound!”
“Court is back in session…” Adoiarte said ominously.
Joanna quickly turns and runs up the stairs.
Meanwhile, on the bridge Creed gives the order to fire all weapons; several enemy aircrafts were taken down instantly by random gunfire, but out of those that made through the attack, quickly touched down on the flight deck. Lucren, Mogaio, and Dvio led large groups of soldiers dressed in black. in separate directions as they marched across towards the stairs and down into the lower levels.
“All teams take defensive positions, now!”
“Sir!”
“What?!”
“They’re splitting up.”
“Several of them are heading for the engine room, any available units in the vicinity please intercept.”
“Joanna and I will take care of that,” Samuel replied over the radio frequency.
“We will?”
“Sure. If anything goes wrong, I might need your help.”
“What about me, Creed?” Bayard asked.
“You stay here. I’m pretty sure they’ll try to take this room. They’ll have control over all systems from here.”
Dvio, Mogaio and a small handful of soldiers trek across the flight deck to one of the vents, where one of the soldiers plants an explosive device. Dvio and Mogaio was the first to drop in through the opening while the others rappel down.
“Lucren, my men and I are standing by. Let me know when you take the bridge.”
“Roger that, Mogaio.”
“Dvio, you keep heading towards the engine room and sabotage it; I’ll wait for Lucren do his thing before I proceed.”
“And what of them…?” Dvio asks as he points out the engineers cowering in the corner.
“Use your imagination.” He said before he ordered half the men to follow him.
Samuel and Joanna arrive on scene the moment Mogaio leaves; Joanna wore the glove on her right hand used by the original brown ranger, Phoebe Dallas. She finally settled for a lesser ranger color such as brown. They stand in between the enemy soldiers and the civilians behind them as they summon the nanabot shield right in front of them. The bullets coming at them bounce back at the ones who fired the shots; most of them were killed instantly while the others just ducked. Steam flowed from the pipes behind them courtesy of the bullets that were bounced back in their direction.
“Get outta here; we’ll handle this!” Joanna said, looking back at the workers.
Dvio leaps at Samuel and, with his sword in hand, slashes left and right. Samuel does his best to dodge while he summons his own sword. Samuel brought his own blade up and blocked Dvio’s blow. Dvio then countered with a lateral cut, followed by a low-to-high slash. Samuel parried the first attack and jumped away from the second. Dvio closed the gap between them, swinging his sword diagonally at Dvio's right shoulder. Dvio parried and swung his own blade at Samuel's waist.
Joanna continuously blocks the wave of gunfire her enemies threw at her while she returns fire at the same time. After she gets in close, she relies less on the nano-shield and more on her hand-to-hand combat skills.
The enemy to the center right of Joanna strikes first with the butt of his rifle, but she ducks and strikes hard with a low punch to the stomach; Joanna couldn’t see his face, but the guy was in pain as he flinched slightly and stumbles back. Joanna lifts her left foot and kicks him hard in the stomach while another soldier attacks her from the left. Thinking quickly, she hits that guy with a back fist to the jaw and then shifts her attention right as she takes her gun, one of Samuel’s guns that he had his old team use in combat, in her left hand and fires a shot. The man goes down instantly and doesn’t get back up. She then holds up her right hand and shouts the name of her weapon, the Mantis Boomerang. As if appears in her hand, she deals blow after blow to her enemies after she converts her weapon to its secondary form simply by straightening it.
Meanwhile, Samuel still struggles with Dvio; Samuel felt blood oozing from small cuts on his left ankle and right forearm, but due to his ability to heal rapidly, the cuts sealed themselves back up and the blood slowly faded. Dvio frowned, spun his weapon around his wrist, spun in a tight circle, and swung his blade at Samuel's neck.
Samuel knocked the blade away, and Dvio made a second pass, this time aiming a bit higher. Samuel ducked, and countered with a lateral cross-cut. Dvio blocked the blow, then brought his knee up into Samuel's gut. Samuel backed down the walkway, catching each of Dvio's renewed attack blows. Finally, the two of them locked their swords together. Samuel was panting from the blow to his gut and held his weapon in both hands. Suddenly, Dvio raised his left hand and began charging a fire ball in the hole in his hand. He brought his sword to rest in his left hand and the fireball engulfed the blade. To this, he drew his blade back, he then leaned backwards as he spun his sword counter-clockwise and left a trail of flames, which spread until they finally bounced off the wall and knocked down everything and everyone in their path, except for Dvio.
Everyone, except for Joanna and Samuel, were still conscious after the attack. Dvio picked up his men and led them further down the hall to the engine room.
On the way to the bridge, Lucren receives a call the rest of the men back at the secret base.
“Mr. Sugaro, sir. We’ve just received word that your cargo has arrived at the port.”
“Excellent, I’m a lil busy right now; so you’re gonna have to intercept it for me.”
“But I don’t…”
“It’ll take at least twenty men, so I suggest you get started.” Upon reaching the bridge, Lucren turns to his right and gestures with his hand for the guy to toss a flash grenade in the room up ahead.
The brilliant flash of light it gave off blinds everyone inside and softens them up for Lucren’s soldiers to do their thing.
Creed cleverly positions himself on the right of the archway and waits for what he thought was the last of the men storm into the room like ants to a picnic. Then he disarms him, knocks him out and fires back at the men in front.
Bayard summons his weapon, the Hawk Crossbow, and takes aim at a lone soldier coming through the doorway. With only one shot, Bayard takes him down. But seconds later, Bayard was struck in the jaw by Lucren, who then disarms him of his crossbow.
Bayard attacks with his right and misses. After Lucren ducked, he came back at his opponent with an uppercut and when he was confused, he landed a tornado kick to the jaw, which sent him spiral onto his face.
Creed took from his holster one of the biggest magnum handguns you’ve ever seen. He used it on Lucren to get his attention. When he had to reload, that was time Lucren took to strike him back.
Lucren first disarmed him. After he knocked the gun away, he kicks the General in his right shin, causing him to kneel. Then he aimed for his face with a knee kick, but Creed blocks with his left hand and punches him hard to the kidney; this only pushed Lucren a few centimeters and so Lucren readies himself to throw a right hook.
The General stops Lucren’s fist about an inch away from his face, grabs him by the wrist and pulls him close so he can counter with an uppercut.
Lucren stumbles back, but stays on his feet until Bayard slashes him in the back. From on his knees, Lucren looks to the console on his left from the corner of his eye and then feigns unconsciousness until Creed gets in close. He thinks to himself, “This ‘really’ would’ve been job better suited for Mogaio…” he takes a couple of deep breaths and with precision aim, he tosses a flash drive like a shuriken and it sticks into one of the ports on the console. In seconds, it unleashes a virus into the ship’s computer and shuts down every including the engines.
“Mogaio, that’s your cue…” Lucren mutter into his com-link. After completing his task, Lucren moves on to the next position he was supposed to hit; leaving Creed and Bayard to deal with the swarms of soldiers that just now started flooding into the room.
“Sir, we’re seeing signs engine failure in number 3 and 1.”
“It’s Lucren, he took down our computers with some sorta virus. I think he’s going for the detention level. Can any available units secure the location?”
“This is Starla, Max and I will intercept.”
“Copy that, Starla; Bayard, you assist them.”
“Roger that, General…”
“Joanna, I need you to fix the engine. You’re the expert with this sorta thing.” Samuel instructed as he takes over in the fight against Dvio.
“What about you, will you be fine on your own?”
“I’ve tackled solo missions while you were still in grade school. I think I can handle this brute.”
Before Joanna could take her leave, Samuel called out to her and said, “If you need to activate your ranger powers, just look to your morpher; the go-code is in there.”
“Got it.”
Back on the bridge, Creed turns to Bayard, “Bayard, I need you to intercept in before he reaches the holding cells.”
“Roger that…”
“Samuel, Bayard’s gonna handle it. you and Joanna remain where you are.”
“Good.”Samuel twists and turns and jumps to avoid the onslaught of blows from the Dvio. Dvio wasn’t the best swordsman, but he made up for it with brute strength and clever tactics. “C’mon, Dvio, is that the best you got?” Samuel egged him on.
Dvio and Samuel circled; Samuel twirling his blade down as his left side as he maintained eye contact. Dvio was stalling until he got Samuel in the right position before he charged him and shoved with a hard shoulder tackle, which sent him bashing through a wall as if he were made of stone.
Samuel was now in another section of the engine room. Dvio followed him through the hole he just made, his sword aflame, he holds his down at his side and then thrusts it forward diagonally. Samuel dives to the ground as the flames hit. They missed him by an inch and tear through the wall behind him, which led to the outside just several feet away from the rotor.
“It was getting a bit stuffy in here anyway…” Samuel said smugly as he summoned his morpher. “How about we continue this outside?” he recites the activation code and quickly transforms into the purple ranger before he leaps out of the gaping hole and levitates in midair. “What’s the matter, hothead, afraid of heights?”
Dvio gives off an evil grin using only his eyes as he stares back at Samuel floating in the distance. Seconds later, he lets out a roar as a warning just before he sprouts wings made of fire and leaps out to join Samuel in flight.
With the fight now in the air around the ship, Samuel figured it would be easier; now that he can dodge his opponent’s moves better. He was only half right. Samuel and Dvio wounded each other as they sail through the air like birds fighting over their prey. Finally, Samuel made a desperate and ignorant move by raising his sword and trying to stab Dvio from above. Dvio swayed to one side and quickly slashed back before Samuel could even counter.
“Joanna, you got multiple hostiles closing in on you!” Samuel replied as he looked away from the battle for a brief moment.
“Got it; I see them.” Joanna stops her work on the engine’s relay panels, equips her sidearm and takes cover behind a wall as she waits for them to arrive. She listens closely for their footsteps and when she thought one of them had reared their ugly head, she pops out and takes a shot.
The first of the soldiers to come through the doorway zeros in on her and fires back; Joanna takes cover as the wave of bullets creates sparks when they bounce off the wall.
Joanna pops out from cover again and takes a shot; this time, a few more soldiers join the first one. As soon as Joanna pops out again to return fire, she finally hits one of them in the heart.
On the other side of the ship, Mogaio closes in on the detention center via the catwalk. As he moves further down the walkway, he gets the feeling that he’s being followed. He finally turns around and proves himself right as he sees Bayard taking a swing at him.
Mogaio raises a right arm in the path of Bayard’s fist and as his forearm collides with Bayard’s wrist, he pushes back while drawing a Kunai from his belt and aiming for Bayard’s stomach; Bayard saw it coming and stopped it before it pierces his abdomen. As he applies pressure to Mogaio’s hand, it trembles as he tries to push back with a force greater than his grip.
“Keep moving; I’ll handle this one!” Mogaio bellowed at his soldiers.
Bayard applies a bit more pressure and then causes Mogaio to drop his weapon with a slight twist of his hand. Then Bayard eases up on his grip and quickly deals a devastating blow to Mogaio’s jaw. Mogaio replies with a swift kick to Bayard’s shin and waits for him to kneel in response before he throws back an uppercut to the chin.
Bayard quickly stands up and stumbles back a couple of steps. Meanwhile, Mogaio moves forward again; gripping the rails as he alternates between his left and right foot and deals kick after kick to Bayard’s abdomen. Bayard regains his balance and grabs a hold of Mogaio’s right foot. With a firm grip, Bayard pulls him close, takes his left hand off and decks him in the forehead with a strong punch.
Mogaio lands on his back and slides a couple feet. Before getting up, Mogaio sneakily pulls a few more Kunai from his belt while Bayard boasts about his fighting skills.
“I trained with some of the greats like Evander Holyfield and George Foreman. I may not be as good as they are, but I’m a quick learner.”
Mogaio quickly thrusts his left arm forward; Kunai firmly gripped in his hand, he tosses them at Bayard, who ducks and dodges as he marches up for another bout. Mogaio anticipated his moves. He ducks, grabs Bayard around the waist, lifts up, and tosses him to his right and over the rail.
Bayard thinks quickly and grabs a hold before he plummets to his doom. He continues to hold on despite Mogaio kicking his fingers, trying to make his lose his grip. Finally, after much trying, Bayard’s right hand slips, but once again, thanks to quick thinking, he spirals around latches onto the rail, then spirals again, grabs a hold and pulls himself up before Mogaio could try again to knock him off.
“Bayard!” Starla calls out from the catwalk all the way on the left side.
Bayard looks over at Max and Starla while he and Mogaio’s hands were locked together like two wrestlers trying desperately to drive the other to the ground. “Don’t worry about me. Just get to Adoiarte, make sure he doesn’t escape!”
Mogaio breaks the hold, grips Bayard’s shoulders, pulls him close, knees him in the stomach, and bashes his head on the railing. Bayard managed to maintain consciousness and tackles Mogaio, who keeps his balance as he slides backwards a few inches.
By the time Starla and Max arrive at the detention center, they were too late. One of the soldiers works the console and opens the cage.
Adoiarte casually walks out, unaware of Starla and Max’s presence in the doorway; or so Max thought as he rushes in, prepared to tackle him back in.
“Max, wait!” Starla yells. But it was too late; Max misses his mark as Adoiarte quickly sidesteps him completely like a bullfighter waving a red cape in front of an angry bull.

With Max incapacitated, Starla rushes in; her hands glowing a bright white, she aims her right at the first soldier next to her then takes her left hand the fires a ball of light the soldier near the console.
A third soldier manages to get in a lucky hit with the butt of his rifle as he decks Starla in the jaw and gives the other soldiers enough time to get to their feet and point their guns at her while kneels in place on one knee.
“You impudent little spark of light. You’ve been a pain in my a** since day one. Let her stand up.”
“Get up, b***h.” One of the soldiers said with a thick accent.
“Leave us.” Adoiarte instructed as he takes the sidearm from a soldier’s holster and aims it at her.
“Are you sure about this, sir?”
“Don’t question me, just do as I command. She and I have unfinished business.” Adoiarte waits for the men to turn their backs on him before he takes a shot at them. He places his shots like an expert marksman and kills them instantly. “They served their purpose; and so has your little boyfriend here…” he says with an evil grin as he slowly walks towards the same console that was used to release him from his cage.
“No, don’t…!”
“Say sayonara to your lover, Starla…”
Before she could react, the cage that housed Maxwell Grant in it is attached to a round platform of similar size, which slides faster than the speed of sound towards an airlock door, which quickly opens, expelling him from the aircraft.
“Good riddance to that rubbish. Now for you…”
Anger arose in Starla’s heart. The madder she got, the more her power level rose. Her body sheds its human form and glows bright white like an incandescent lightbulb. She tackles Adoiarte and her powers engulf his body as well as she takes both herself and him and zap themselves into one of the bulbs above them. They return to their natural form as they travel through a world of bright lights. An array of purple, blue, pink, and white passes them by as they fought.
Meanwhile, Max was bounced back and forth inside his glass cage as it flips and spirals and tumbles through the air, making its descent. Max plants both feet and both hands near the edge of the cylinder to brace himself and then pulls one arm away to call on his pill bug armor. With the help of his weapon, he shatters the glass and leaps out. Now he was tumbling in midair with his former prison cell plummeting faster than he was.
As for Samuel, he and Dvio and Starla and Adoiarte all crash land on the flight deck; Samuel tumbles back, his head hitting the ground once before he falls on his back in front of Starla; Starla, who then dons her ranger form, leaps over Samuel, and rushes towards Adoiarte with fire in her eyes, and her weapon clutched in her hands.
“Dvio…” Adoiarte said as he looked to him and nodded his head.
“Adoiarte…” Dvio answered back with respect as they both stand and face Starla.
With Samuel down, they proceed to jump Starla. Adoiarte leapt her; Dvio lunged. Adoiarte’s sword was high over his head as descended upon Starla with anger in his eyes. Starla immediately looked up, she had seen his attack coming from miles away. She attacks his sword with the tip of her staff and quickly spins it; knocking Adoiarte’s blade away before slapping him in the cheek with the other end of her weapon. Then as soon as Dvio came in close, she pushed him away with a single from kick. He grunts as her kick lifts him off the ground a few inches and retaliates with a wave of fire from his left palm as if he had a flamethrower built in.
In reaction to the attack, Starla leaps backwards. Looking to her right, she notices Samuel was back on his feet and gunning for Dvio. Samuel tackles him faster than the speed of sound and drives him to the ground. They both separate as they roll on the ground and quickly get up.
On his readout screen, Samuel places several crosshairs on key-points of Dvio’s anatomy; his right leg, his left hand an even in between his eyes. Once Megan locks on target, a compartment on the suit’s left shoulder and right waist open up and show several rocks which Samuel immediately fires. Samuel rushes in as the first rocket from his waist, aims for Dvio’s leg, carrying a pink, viscous substance which acts as a coagulant, holding Dvio’s leg in place while two more rockets deploy from Samuel’s shoulder compartments and aim for Dvio’s left hand. As the blast from the second rocket hits, it loosens up his grip and causes the sword to fall. The third rocket detonates right between Dvio’s eyes with a brilliant flash of light; Samuel covered his eyes so he wouldn’t be blinded along with his opponent as he rushed up and commenced the attack.
“Grant, we’re still bottoming out; how are things in the engine room?”
“Need to ask Jojo about that, Dan, I’m busy…”
“I just about got it, but the rotor needs a jump. I’ll have to get in a push,” Joanna explained.
“It’ll tear you to pieces if you manage to get it running again. Isn’t there another way?”
“I’ll let ya know if there is; besides, isn’t this something you’d do if you were here instead of me?”
“Samuel, go and help her out; I’ve got things here.”
Meanwhile, back to Bayard and Mogaio; Bayard faked a body blow, and then his fist flashed out and connected solidly with Mogaio’s cheek. Mogaio’s face began to redden and he grabbed Bayard, sinking several hard shots into the seemingly immortal knight’s sides. Bayard used his knees and shoved his body back violently. Bayard pushed forward and dodged Mogaio’s counter punch before slamming his right fist into the ninja’s chest. While Mogaio was stunned from the impact, Bayard drove an uppercut into the point of his chin.
Mogaio stumbled back and brought his hands up; absorbing what was considered a superman punch to the left of his jaw from Bayard. Bayard noticeably tensed his body as he prepared for a high kick, and Mogaio ducked the lethal leg before going back to working Bayard’s body. After landing a few jabs, Mogaio straightened up suddenly and smashed a right hook into Bayard’s face. Bayard backed up a step, holding his face, and growled.
“Your immortality can’t save you…” Mogaio said with a grin, not knowing those would be his final words.
Bayard quickly summons his hawk crossbow again as Mogaio pulls more ninja stars from his waist belt. The entire thing was a quickdraw from an old western and Bayard won as he fired a single shot which downed Mogaio for good. He stumbles towards the rail and Bayard approaches to toss him over.
Just a few minutes after what happened with Bayard, Samuel reenters the engine room through the giant hole Dvio made. As he landed, Joanna was just about to enter the rotor.
“Uh uh, I don’t think so…” he interrupted.
“Samuel.” She said in surprise.
“If anyone’s gonna do something crazy and reckless, it’s me. You stand by the standard control unit and wait for my word.”
“Yes sir…” Joanna said in a surly tone.
Samuel gets in position, hands forward, his body straight as a board while he hovers there in front of a thin piece of metal that was one of the blades for the rotor. He engages thrusters and gives the blades a push counter-clockwise, gradually gaining speed with each rotation. The ship was still rapidly descending; Samuel’s end was dropping the fastest, which messed with Starla, Dvio, and Adoiarte’s balance as they fought.
“Samuel, what’s going on? We’re still dropping.”
“I’m trying. I’m just not getting enough power.”
“Suit’s power level is at 34% sir…” Megan replied.
“On my way, dad.” Max said on the other end of the communicator.
Max was just below him, flying towards him in his red ranger form. Once he gets in position, he and Samuel continue to push. They managed to get it going twice as fast as Samuel did by himself, but it still wasn’t enough; Max’s suit started draining energy as well.
Just then, several streaks of light approached the aircraft fast like a comet in red, blue, brown, purple, and white. The streaks separate once over the ship and head towards Starla, Max, Samuel, Joanna, and Bayard. Each of them then glowed in a brilliant flash of light the same color as their ranger forms, filling them with immense power.
Samuel and Max finally had the energy boost they needed.
“What the…”
“Hey, guys, did you miss us?” Caitlin said over the communicator.
“More than you…” Max replied.
Soon, Samuel and Max got the rotor up to speed and leveled the ship out.
“Okay, Jo, hit the lever please.”
Joanna places both hands on the level and turned it 90 degrees. With that, the rotor slowed down a bit so they could get free.
“Whoa… the helicarrier looks messed up. What happened?”
“It’s a long story, Cait.”
Caitlin and Alex zoomed in on Starla down on the flight deck with Adoiarte and Dvio and dropped in to offer assistance.
Caitlin ducked a right cross from Dvio and then popped up with a left jab to the face; summoning her Peacock fan blades, she blocked Dvio’s sword from her right and countered with her left. Dvio took the strike to his chest well and countered with a flurry of slashes to Caitlin’s breasts. On the fifth to seventh hit, Alex jumped in and defended her with his Scorpion Saber.
In the fight between Starla and Adoiarte, Starla had just about wore Adoiarte out; she felt it was about time she delivered the final strike. First, she and Adoiarte stared into each other’s eyes. Starla gave him a grin and winked with her left eye.
Adoiarte knew she was toying with him. He muttered to himself, “Enough of this.” As he looked back at her on one knee in a pained and angry expression just and got to his feet and charged.
Starla separated her weapon at its center and held the two pieces like swords. With her left hand, she blocked Adoiarte’s first strike and slashed him in the chest with her right. Adoiarte grunted as he spiraled back. Starla dropped her weapons and ran up close to Adoiarte, grabbing by the collar with one hand while slowly drawing back the other. Her hand glowed as soon as it was behind her and she quickly pushed it forward. The second it touched Adoiarte, her whole body is engulfed in light and she traveled through Adoiarte’s body via the point of attack only to come out the other side in her human form once again.
Adoiarte made a sound like he was choking as he stumbled forward, one hand on his chest where he was struck. Within seconds, he falls down in a fiery explosion and is killed instantly.
Finally, it was down to only Dvio; Caitlin popped her right fight into Dvio’s forehead and he responded with a left to the ribs. Caitlin winced and took the hit badly. As she stumbled back, Alex took her place. Dvio tried an uppercut next and Alex swayed around it before pounding his right into the demon’s jaw. While Dvio was still reeling, Willis whipped a left fist into his jaw. Dvio grunted in pain and covered his chest, and Alex kept pounding his fists against Dvio’s arms, jarring him violently. Caitlin spiraled around her boyfriend and her nephew and held her right arm out; her repulsor glows bright white as she fires a devastating blow, which made Dvio double over. Alex then rushed up and slammed another right punch into Dvio’s body before he, Willis and Caitlin stand side by side and joins hands. Their bodies glow with the energy from their individual ranger medallions; Caitlin’s in orange, Alex’s in black, and Willis’ in green. Their auras intensify, growing larger and larger every second that they held hands.
Dvio was scared of what was going to happen next that he cringed.
Alex, Willis and Caitlin’s aura race at him, circling him like a swarm of angry bees, causing sparks to fly from his body as they attacked. Dvio stood there for a moment after the attack stopped and then quickly fell to his knees. Within seconds of falling, he fell on his face in a fiery explosion just like Adoiarte and his spirit lifts out of his body into the air and vanishes.
Only ones who were left were Lucren and HK; HK was still desperately searching for the remaining jewels of the Karma Lunari while Lucren had fled the scene of the Helicarrier after completing his part of the mission. He was no safely back at the site of the ancient device that they were going to use to open a portal to Tartarus; the place that Operation W.A.S.P. was still unable to locate.
“Any word on Lucren?”
“Nah, the guy rabbited moments ago; it was just the other three.”
“Great, we’re down to two of the five corners left and we still have no idea where their base is.”
“What about Zierian?”
“Well, that we’re not sure of. He was with us in Venezuela.”
“He transmitted his location about 15 minutes ago, while we were all fighting. Megan picked up on a signal originating from a port somewhere in Florida.”
“Florida?”
“Yeah. It was right outside of where my tower is located.”
“Let’s go check it out then.”
It took two hours for Creed to get to Florida; Samuel and the rest of Operation W.A.S.P. depart from the mobile base in their ranger form and touchdown at the exact location where they found Zierian’s signal. They split up into teams to search the whole area faster. So far, they’ve found no trace of Zierian anywhere.
“Anyone find anything yet?” Max asked.
“No. we search nearly every container around here.”
“Why would he come here?”
Towards the end of the docks, Alex found something; a trail of black dust coming from a large, blue container with a bunch of weird writing on the side. At first, he figured it was just gravel, but then a bit of it sparkled, giving off tiny flashes of blue light. He scooped some of it up with his hand to examine it closely. Then he takes his morpher and slowly passes it over the substance. His morpher generates a green light as it scans this unknown material, “Guys, I think I may have found something.”
“What is it?”
“I’m not certain, but I’m getting a high energy reading from it. You might wanna see it for yourself.”
Samuel and the others converge on Alex’s location.
“We’re not too far away from my building. We should get back and analyze this stuff. Plus, it’ll give me time to restock the suits with ammo.”
Samuel’s place was at least a 5 minute walk from their current location. They flew all the way there in half the time. Samuel’s command center was on the penthouse floor of the 24-story building. His suits were sitting in display cases in the room below their floor while the team was standing near a glass tabletop which doubled as a large, touchscreen computer.
“I’ve finished analyzing the dust Alex picked up and I’ve found traces of a rare element known as Poseidonite,” Megan explained.
“What would Poseidonite be doing at a port here in Miami?”
“Megan, tap into the security cameras in the surrounding area.”
Megan completes this task in a matter of seconds. On the screen behind them, Megan displayed eight separate pictures of part of the Port and plays back several hours of footage. As Megan fast-forwarded through three hours of footage, Samuel and the other find nothing out of the ordinary; just the dockworkers loading and unloading containers of freight ships. Just when they thought they wouldn’t find anything, camera number 4 catches a glimpse of several men in black, ghost squad type uniforms with their faces covered accompany a man who resembled Dr. Olen Pearson across the docks to a green container.
The men shoo away the dockworkers as they approach the cargo casually.
“At least now we know what happened to Dr. Pearson.”
“Look, there’s Zierian; camera four,” Caitlin pointed out.
“This is getting us nowhere. All we know is where the Poseidonite was. We don’t know where it has gone.”
“Wherever they’ve taken it, it has to be close by. I mean why would they bring it here? What are they…” Joanna’s speech was suddenly interrupted by a massive tremor.
“Megan, where’s the epicenter of this quake?”
“Sensors indicate a large amount of energy emanating from the Bermuda triangle. It’s way off the charts, sir.”
It was now obvious to the team where the location of Tartarus was located, but it was too late for them to stop it from being opened.
The massive quake emanating inside the Bermuda Triangle, was the large machine that was hidden below sea level slowly rising from the depths, which was bringing the portal itself along with it. As the large ring that hovered over the entrance to Tartarus rises, a beam of white light shines through it. It passes through the clouds that were generating massive storms in the surrounding area. The light generates enough heat and energy that causes the clouds to part. As a result, the sea became calm and still and the quakes come to a complete stop.
Lucren and HK stand proudly atop the massive machine, looking out over the horizon as their plan to wipe out the human race unfolds; Olen Pearson stood on bended knees by their side with HK’s hand gripping his shoulder tightly. Olen has just witness these two murder the others like they were nothing but cattle taken out to pasture.
“You monsters…!”
“Monsters, eh doctor…?” Lucren replied with a chuckle, “Mankind’s reign has come to an end, thanks to Dr. Pearson. Tell me, who’s the real monster here?” Lucren said after turning his attention to him. “You have singlehandedly aided us in your people’s downfall. I have no further use for you.” He looks to HK once more, brings his right hand to his throat and gestures to HK with the sliding of his hand across his throat.
Olen stood there on his knees, “I know what I have done, If I only had my free will…”
“But you didn’t; we controlled your every move… with this.” Lucren held up the same dagger that Adoiarte held in his possession recently, “A magnificent device really; recently liberated from the resting place of the gods themselves by our late, great leader. It had been used in the early days of man. The gods have soon stopped using it when they decided to give you all ‘free will’. If you ask me, that’s where they went wrong; you see, them giving you the freedom to make your own choices is what led you down the path to self-destruction.” Lucren chuckled, “Look at me, I’m starting to sound like Adoiarte. He was always the longwinded one out of all of us.” Lucren nods his head at HK, signaling him to commence.
As HK held his sword close to Olen’s neck, a soft whisper escaped his mouth, “It will be quick.”
“They’ll reserve a special place in the afterlife for you in our name…” Lucren went on to say.
What happened next was purely out of luck; a ball of yellow light drops down on HK from behind and produces a sudden jolt of light which separated the doctor from HK. With him down, Zierian now focuses his attention on Lucren.
“You’re that guy; Guardian of the Karma Lunari. Zierian, right? I must say, you’ve done a fantastic job,” Lucren said sarcastically. “You’ve let them fall into the wrong hands twice. Twice it’s been used to bring about the destruction of the earth. It failed once because your brothers were weak. I’m different than them. I am not weak. I will not fail like them.”
“I’ll only say this once. After that, I will waste no more words on you. Shut down this machine or I will destroy it.”
“And stop all the fun…? I don’t think so.”
After a few more words, “If that’s the way you want it then,” he stuck by his word to no longer speak and just jumped straight into action. However, while he, HK, and Lucren fought, Samuel and the others raced to his location.
After getting ¾ of the way there, the portal started spewing out balls of fire. In midair, those fireballs transformed. They took the form of grayish humanoids carrying swords and sitting atop large, black birds with a skeleton like figure like the creatures of God of War. There must’ve been at least a million of them according to Samuel, Max, and Joanna.
Samuel was the first to break formation as he ascended towards this new enemy with intent to kill. Samuel pulled some death-defying maneuvers as he flew straight into the horde and switched from his left and right repuslor. He took down a couple dozen of them before the strain of it all became too much for him and his friends join in on the action.
The horde then floated past them like a herd of wildebeest evading a dangerous predator in the Savannah. Most of them were heading northwest back towards Florida while the rest shifted south in the direction of the Bahamas. They spread themselves around like ants over a crumb-infested floor in a kitchen.
Samuel got on the communicator and shot a direct line to Creed back at the Helicarrier, “Creed, they’re heading right for you. Prepare yourself.”
“Who’s heading straight for us?”
“You’ll know’em when ya see’em,” he answered vaguely.

The Helicarrier was soon rocked by a sudden wave of fire from the enemy from another world. It was almost as if an earthquake was happening in the air.
Creed saw exactly who his assailants were as he looked out the observation deck window. The horde wasn’t exact firing upon Creed and his crew; it was like they were being hit by Kamikaze pilots. Some of the demons that were on a collision course with the carrier burst into flames upon impact while the rest of fly right past. “Return fire now!” he barked.
Every turret on the outer hull of the ship locks onto target and fires a green laser beam which takes down every incoming enemy down in one shot. For every one they shot down, two more appeared.
The portal they were coming out of just kept spitting out more and more. It was an endless wave of unknown hostiles; Samuel and his team did the best they could to keep them at bay, but there was just too many of them.
They pass right by our heroes and keep going towards the shores.
“Sir, there’s just too many. Our weapons aren’t able to keep up with them.”
“We’re taking heavy damage.”
“Sir, we’re showing signs of hull breach. They’re doing more damage than the other enemy did.”
“Stats are showing complete failure in all engines, sir. What do we do?”
“Prepare for descent.”
“Aye aye, sir…”
“And alert the National Guard, the air force, navy, whoever we need; tell’em that we have a crisis situation.”
Midway through the fight, Lucren came to a conclusion as he lifted the dagger he had shown Olen from his holster. Thinking to himself, he says, “Why should I waste time fighting you when your friends can do the same thing?” He brought it to Zierian’s chest and was ready to attack with it, but as quickly as he drew it, Zierian reached for it and held it away.
Olen looked closely as they squabble over it and noticed HK sneaking up behind Zierian. He rushed to him and tackled him to the ground. Olen grunted as dealt one punch after another to HK’s face. Green blood spewed from HK’s still concealed face as he titled left and right in response to each punch.
Finally, HK threw him off and quickly stood up, “No more hesitation. You die now.”
“Dr. Pearson!” Zierian gasped.
Lucren draws back his left arm for a punch and as he drives it forward, that’s when Zierian quickly blocked. He placed one arm on Lucren’s joint while he firmly grasped his wrist with the other. He bends his opponent’s arm forward, twists, rotates 45 degrees to his right and throws Lucren over the edge into the water. Turning to HK who was now towering over a cowering Olen Pearson, Zierian summons his sword, the Ultimatum blade, and quickly charges. Once he got in close, all it took was one strike to the abdomen. HK fell to his knees the same time Zierian swept Olen off his feet and got him safely away. Then HK fell over completely, giving off a violent explosion and releasing all his energy into the air.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes I’m fine. What about the dagger?”
“What dagger?”
“The dagger the other guy was holding. It’s the key to all of… this…” he paused as he saw Lucren standing behind him with the dagger in his hand. “I built a failsafe just in case I changed my mind and wanted to stop all this,” he whispered to Zierian, hoping Lucren couldn’t hear.
“Looking for this, doctor…”
“Hand it over, Lucren…”
“If you insist…” Lucren said with a grin. He looks up at the horde of demons pouring from the portal and devises a plan. He threw the dagger up into the air and into the hands of a single monster that joined with the rest of the horde on their rampage. “You really should to choose your words carefully. You never said ‘who’ I should hand it over to.” He winked. “Enjoy your front row seat to the end of the world!”
“Lucren, wait…”
Meanwhile, the army finally reaches the major cities. Somewhere in Miami, Florida, as the enemy flies over the streets, people look up in shock and awe as the enemy commences firing. Red beams of light rain down like a heavy storm, tearing through cars, buildings, and freeway overpasses. The people soon start running for cover; any place they could find like diners, bookstores, apartments.
Before long, Bayard was the first to realize fighting the enemy as they emerge was exhausting. He may have been immortal, but even he could take only so much of a pounding before he starts to get tired, “Samuel, all this isn’t gonna mean a damn thing if that portal isn’t sealed,” he replied.
Realizing this truth, Samuel sends a direct line to Zierian over the communicator, “Zierian, what’s the weather like at the portal?”
“What?”
“I mean what’s the situation?”
“Oh. Well the doctor says you can’t destroy the portal without disabling the generator first; otherwise it’ll stay open and you will have doomed your whole race. To close it for good, you need the dagger. It is the key.”
“Does he still have it with him?”
“That’s a bit difficult to explain, but here’s the short version: Lucren tossed it, it’s with the army now.”
Samuel looked straight ahead of him, which was in the direction of Miami, “Oh boy…”
“What is it, Samuel?” Joanna asked.
“Looks like we got a treasure hunt on our hands…”
“What, now? We’re in the middle of a crisis,” Max replied.
“That’s what I’m referring to; according to Zierian, the dagger is the key to closing the portal, but it’s now in the hands of the army.”
“Oh s**t.”
“But which group has it, these things are scattered all over the damn place?” Willis asked.
“We’re gonna need to split up if we are to find it,” Samuel explained. “I’ll check the islands.”
“You’re not going alone,” Joanna said.
“If she’s going, I am too,” Max replied.
“Another spike in energy levels emanating from the portal has been detected,” Megan blurts out.
When the light began to flicker, it got Willis’ attention. He flew in for a closer look. He and the others had only seen a small sample of what dwells within the ancient prison of the underworld. What was about to come out now was considered the main event.
From the portal, a ball of flames then emerged and as it sailed through the air, the flames turned from orange to a bluish-green. As it touched down in the water, several large shapes poke out of the top that looked like the heads of dragons. They had blue, beady, demonic eyes; three of them, and a blue, glowing mouth with a toothy grin. Once the beast’s body fully developed, it stood on four talon-like feet, had two of its spiky heads rest on top of what appeared to be its shoulders while the third was embedded into its chest like the carving of a face into a mountain of a tree, and a long, spiny tail stretch from its backside about several yards.
“Things just got ugly.”
“Guys, we got our game plan; the clock is ticking.”
“Max is right.”
“Starla, you, Max, Joanna and I will tend to Cuba and the Bahamas; Willis and the rest of you, deal with Miami. That key has to be somewhere. If we don’t close this portal, then they’ll just keep coming.”
Word had finally reached the National Guard from General Creed about the imminent threat, but it would take them hours to scramble their men. In the time it took them to reach the site, Miami’s finest decided to take matters into their own hands. Most of them led any and all stragglers off the streets and got them to safety while others grabbed their guns and fired back. The army was flying too fast through the air for the cops to see if their bullets had any effect on them.
Willis, Alex, Bayard, Caitlin, and Zierian round the corner as they zigzag through the horde, trying to get their attention. At the next intersection, they break formation; Willis and Zierian go right, Bayard and Caitlin go right, Alex continue straight through the intersection, each of them taking a small amount of enemies with them.
The enemy went down easy as they had difficult time banking left and right through the tight corners as they follow our heroes from a close distance.
Meanwhile, in Cuba, Joanna quickly turns a corner and spots a handful of civilians being chased. The enemy had now taken to the ground level, wielding swords as well as high-tech laser weapons almost as advanced as anything Samuel could come up with. Apparently, the enemy has been planning on taking over the human world for quite some time while they spent most of their days down there. Without hesitation, she springs into action with a ton of aerial combatants chasing after her as well. She alternated her fire; switching back and forth between her pursuers and the assailants below in front of her. Once she gets in close, she allows her pursuers to collide into the enemy below while she touches down between the people and the demon soldiers who were unable to avoid a head-on collision. Using the Nanobot shield, Joanna creates a transparent wall and contains the explosions on the opposite side of her. She waits for the fire to settle and the smoke to clear before she disassembles the shield, “Are you all okay?” she asked.
Most of the people nodded; others spoke either Spanish or English.
“It’s too dangerous, I need you to get to safety until this matter is contained, comprende?” she instructed as she made gestures with her hands in order to shoo them away.
Samuel and Max stood on the rooftops in another part of the city, providing cover for the Cuban police below; it wasn’t until ten minutes later that one of the three creatures hits dry land. Samuel was the first to notice since he was up high and had a clear view of the ocean.
“Joanna, Starla… our tall friend is here; the three-headed, tall, spiny dragon-like thing.”
“Man, he’s quick!” Max added.
“I got this one, boys…”
“Be careful, Starla.”
“Starla? Starla no, HOLD ON A SECOND!!”
Starla’s plan, as she attacked it head-on, was to go for its heads. She starts with the first head from the left. She swoops in on its right and circled around it. As the head followed her, she zigzagged around the other two, which then paid attention to her as they started to chase as well. As an end result, Starla manages to get the beast’s heads tied in a knot, which caused them to focus their attention on each other rather than her. She flies away, summons her staff, and whooshes in once again. With her staff separated into two parts, she doesn’t hesitate to drive the tips of the weapon into their necks. Instead of falling over immediately after being beheaded, the beast just stood there.
Starla realized something was wrong as a slight sizzling sound came from her opponent; extra scales began to form. They build up higher and higher. This time, instead of the beast having three heads, it now had six.
“What the hell?”
“I just figured out what that is. I read up on it in the book of Greek Mythology. It’s a Hydra.”
“You mean it’s that…”
“Yes, Max, it’s that dragon creature that grows back two heads for every one that’s been cut off.”
“How do we defeat it?” Starla asked.
“The book didn’t say. I assume you’d have to destroy its whole body.”
“Uh-oh, here comes the other one.”
The next one to appear on the shores was the rock giant, which meant Samuel, Joanna, Max, and Starla were going to have their hands full. As the beast walked, it carried a big boulder in its right hand like a basketball. After it picked a random location, it chucked the rock like an all-star player going for a three-point shot. Joanna passed right by as the rock slowly descended upon one of the buildings to the side of her. The rock tears through the top floors of the building, sending glass shards and chunks of concrete down to Joanna’s level. She swerved in and out to avoid the falling debris while her pursuers desperately tried to keep up. Most of them weren’t so lucky.
“You have multiple enemies coming in on your left, miss Joanna…”
A new squadron of enemies came in so quickly that Megan’s warning was too late a time. Joanna gets sideswiped by several of them before she makes it past them. She stops after passing a parking garage and as she catches her breath, she looks back from the other side of the intersection as her previous pursuers collide with her new ones in a violent explosion as they turn the corner sharply; unaware of the enemy presence approaching from her right. She turned her attention to them after the first shot hit her in the side of the abdomen, but as she turns completely, she is pelted with several shots to the chest, stomach and face. The continued assault knocks her out of the air and she bounces across the asphalt and onto the sidewalk. From on her back, she fires back with her repuslor cannons, getting off a few good hits before she is picked by one of them and thrown backwards with a single push. Her legs hit the roof of a car while she flew backwards in midair, but she flips once and stops right-side up. Holding out her left hand once again, a compartment opens up on the wrist of her suit. Inside was a mini-gun, which circled her entire wrist like a bracelet. She clenched her fist in order to fire the gun. As the bullets hit their targets, molten lava leaks from their wounds like blood and cools off once it hits the ground at their feet.
Joanna soon hears the faint cry of someone in need. The voice was emanating from the top floors of the parking garage. It seems that the mythical army has several people trapped. Joanna quickly springs into action.
Back to Starla who was still struggling with the Hydra situation. She was out of ideas on how to destroy it since she has never heard of this kind of creature in all of her time on earth back in 2009. The only thing in Greek myth she has heard was the god of war, Ares, and that was under different circumstances.
“If you have any ideas, now would be the time to share,” she says to Samuel as the six-headed beast chases her all the way down the street and further away from him and Max.
“Look, all I know about this thing is based on assumption. Unless you have a way of turning it to stone, like Medusa’s head for example, then I don’t see any way.”
“Maybe we can test out that theory of yours, dad; destroying its whole body.”
“Go on…” Samuel said to Max as they both fought off wave after wave of the smaller enemies.
“In that one movie, in order for Hercules to defeat it was to crush it with a ton of rock. Maybe if we brought a whole building down on it.”
“So, you’re suggesting we blow up a building? Our suits don’t have that kind of firepower.”
“We don’t, but I know someone who does…” Max points to the stone giant with his eyes as it’s marching towards a more heavily populated area.
“That might work… but how will you manage to get him to direct his fire where you want it to go?”
“I’ll just get his attention.” Max flies off to put his plan into action, leaving his father to fight alone.
Back in Miami, things really start to heat up. Just like all their past adventures, the team rises to the challenge once more.
Zierian swoops in after he dons his ranger form, instead of his usual knight’s armor. It took him awhile to learn the controls, but it soon felt like it was a part of him somehow. He swoops in low and joins Alex who, at the time, was fending off monsters with his Scorpion Saber.
Alex swung his weapon at his opponent’s open arm. The blade met the skin and cut right through like butter.
The demon blocked out the pain and continued its wrath.
Alex easily blocked its curve to his head and kicked his stomach.
He fell to the ground and Alex switched modes on his weapon. He then latched his Scorpion Saber to the enemy’s foot and swung him around into the surrounding monsters.
Zierian then drops him; he stood up to close to Alex, their backs facing each other as they channeled their medallions’ energy through them into a giant ball of gold and black. As the energy intensifies, the ball grows, eliminating anyone and anything in its path.
The enemy that once stood before them was completely vaporized. As soon as Alex flies upward, parallel with a large, rectangular building made mostly of glass, he changes his sword back to its original form and slashes wildly as the monsters climbing the side. On the rooftop of that very building was Willis. As Alex flew up, Willis pointed his weapon, the Elephant Axe, straight down. his weapon was in its secondary mode as he aimed at the sides of Alex, where most of the enemy still stood with their hands and feed clutching the walls.
Willis slowly focuses his attention on the airborne enemies. With one shot from his Elephant axe, he took down dozens of them. He aims southeast in the direction of Caitlin and Bayard as enemies fly towards their location. He shoots one of them down over the area where Caitlin and Bayard were fighting atop a giant, metal Gryphon while it was in motion; its wings hardly touching the sides of the buildings in this sort of narrow street.
Caitlin with her Peacock fan blades, Bayard with his Hawk crossbow; the two work in tandem with each other as wave upon wave of enemies drop in from the rooftops.
Zierian was not too far away. He and Caitlin and Bayard moved towards each other in a 90 degree angle.

Caitlin stood gracefully like a crane. The demons circled her, swords ready and eyes watching, waiting for her to make a move. Her hands circle in a windmill like motion
Her opponents said nothing, confused at Caitlin’s stance. In a split second, Caitlin struck out with her right hand and opened the monster’s throat. It fell backwards as orange colored blood sprayed from its neck, eyes rolling back into his head. Before hitting the ground, Caitlin struck out as the next enemy to attack on her left.
The beast raised its rifle defensively. Caitlin swatted the barrel, directing its shot at an enemy that Bayard was fighting. As it dropped to its knees, Bayard delivered a swift kick to the chin with his knee and then looked over at Caitlin to thank her for the assist.
Just then, another enemy charged at Caitlin from behind, and Bayard fires a shot from his Hawk Crossbow. Caitlin thought that shot was meant for her and ducked. She looked at Bayard with widened eyes, but was soon relieved as Bayard pointed behind her at the fallen enemy.
Bayard switches modes on his weapon. With it now transformed into a sword, he quickly defended as another enemy leapt at him and swung for his waist. Bayard shoved him forward with one quick punch to the jaw and rushed towards; sword clutched in both hands, Bayard struck from the left with a diagonally slash.
Caitlin spun and met the enemy’s blow. She closed her fan and clutched the tip of it against his sword. She struck back with her other fan, but the enemy blocked it easily.
At the three-way intersection up ahead, the ground shook violently as the gargantuan feet of Zierian’s pursuer hit the ground one at a time. Zierian was being chased by the magma beast with the bear-like head and a club for a hand while on an unintentional collision course with his fellow teammates.
Caitlin and Bayard were unaware of this as they were too busy with their own problems to care about anyone else’s. Soon their paths meet. Zierian and his pursuer plow straight through the Gryphon Bayard and Caitlin were riding on, literally tearing it to pieces like a wrecking ball going through the side of a building. The front half of part lion part eagle-like beast clings to the other beast while its back half with Caitlin and Bayard atop it, plows straight through the building at the end of the intersection.
As the glass shatters and the wall crumbles, sealing part of the hole they had just made, Caitlin and Bayard tumble further in. their suits literally taking so much of a beating that they changed back into their human form as soon as they fell on their faces amidst the array of display cases and rare artifacts which lined the floors and the opposite wall.
At the same time, Zierian was also knocked out of the sky, but he landed in a separate location where he met with an unfriendly Minotaur. The Minotaur charged angrily and shoved Zierian into a car. It wasn’t until Zierian got up and shook away his blurred vision that he saw what was around the Minotaur’s neck. It was the same green dagger that Lucren threw away.
“C’mon guys, time is running out; anyone got eyes on that dagger yet?”
“We’re working on it, Samuel.”
“Yeah, I’ve fought my way through dozens of enemies and none of them have it.”
“I’ve found it right here, but it’s a little hard to reach,” Zierian announced.
“Okay, Zierian, do whatever you can; no pressure here, but… according to Megan, another large beast just emerged from the portal and it’s heading straight for you.”
Out at sea, General Creed’s ship picks up a strong energy reading on the radar. After one of the men at the computer alerts the General, he takes a look out of the observation deck window and sees a huge tidal wave rushing towards them.
“Are you sure you’re reading that thing correctly?”
“I got it right here; sensors are indicating there’s a massive buildup of energy emanating from the tidal wave’s center.
The raging water nears the ship slowly and as it does, it decreases in size inch by inch until it completely disappears. The energy signature fades from their computers until a giant, blue claw made up of water reaches out from the depths and scrapes across the flight deck like a rake across a lawn full of leaves. Seconds later, three more claws rise up and attack the hull of the ship. The carrier rocks from side to side.
“Your orders, sir…”
“Load all weapons with nitrogen rounds and have all units head topside. It’s time we chill this beast out.”
“Aye aye sir…”
Back in the Bahamas, Max and Starla hover over the squishy remains of the beast they came to know as the Hydra. The site of the mangled body was covered by the large stone Max had used to flatten it. All that could be seen was its six, shriveled up heads that looked like deflated balloons and a puddle green blood splattered along the ground which looked like an outline around the boulder seen from above. Starla thanks Max for his help and they head back towards Samuel. Joanna was now there beside him after she had rescued a group of people from the clutches of the army.
“Well, that’s leaves just him,” Joanna pointed out the stone giant.
“I got just the thing for him…” Samuel summons into his hand…
“An iPad…?” Joanna asked.
“It’s actually the controls for an orbital target satellite I called ‘the W.A.S.P. stinger Mark III’. All I have to do is lock onto his exact location and…” as soon a red crosshair on the screen of what Joanna had assumed to be an iPad locked onto the stone giant’s position, Samuel got a ping sound, “I got him!”
“And you couldn’t use that on the Hydra because…”
“It takes time for it to get into position. Also I hadn’t thought of it ‘til now. It’s been up there for so long, I had almost forgotten it.”
A bluish light shoots down from the heavens over the stone giant’s exact location. The light intensifies, ripping it apart piece by piece. Every part of it that detached from its body lifted into the air and bursts into flames and whatever was left after the light faded fell over in a violent explosion that rocked that part of the city and sent a small tremor Samuel and Joanna’s way.
Joanna lifts her visor and looks to Samuel with wide eyes like she is now seeing him in a whole new light; Samuel looks back at her and responds in a confused manner, “What?”
“It’s amazing how you have a solution to everything…”
“Well… not everything.”
Back in Miami, the giant magma beast is still on the rampage with no one pursuing it; Caitlin and Bayard were still unconscious on the floor of the museum, Zierian was busy fighting a Minotaur, and Willis and Alex were busy elsewhere.
Help finally arrives in the form of fighter jets coming in from the east; a few of General Creed’s men. The jets were carrying tactical low yield missiles of some kind with enough power to level a building or small a small area.
With the beast heading further inland, the jets come in from behind. A single missile to the spine got its attention and as it turned, it raised its right arm, slinging lava from its body like blood from a gushing wound. The pilots maneuver quickly and come around for another pass. This time, they attacked it with their mini-gun turrets.
The beast lashed out once more. Moving its left arm slowly, it took out one of the fighters in a single swipe. The pilot ejects before his bird hit the wall of some building.
The rest of the pilots head straight for the beast’s center; half of them banked left, another half banked right after firing every missile they had at its abdomen. The blast was enough to make it stumble back, but not enough to destroy it.
Just as they were retreating, more demons riding in on giant black birds swarm them. The pilots were chased several blocks. Some of them didn’t even make it to that point before Alex swoops in to offer assistance. He slows down and lines up with the jet that was out in front and salutes him before he takes off, pulls a U-turn, and comes to unload his full arsenal. He marks his targets carefully while he narrowly avoids getting shot at.
“Base, this is Eagle-20 here requesting permission to rearm, over.”
“Request approved, Eagle-20, but first we need you to take care of the problem back at base. We got an unidentified hostile wreaking havoc and no matter what we do, he just keeps coming, over.”
“Roger that, base, we haven’t any missiles left, but we’ll be there to assist.”
“Be advised, Eagle-20, you will need to switch to nitrogen rounds, over.”
Back on the bridge, Creed’s right-hand man tells him he has an urgent call in the conference room.
“Out of the question.” Creed said to the council, a bunch of men and women in business suits whose faces were hidden by shadows on a holographic screen.
“Miami is just the start. They’ll soon spread until they take over the entire world. We have no other alternatives.”
“Councilor, I’m 100% positive my team has it under control. There’s no need for…”
“It’s already been done. We’re just waiting for approval.”
“Zierian, whatever you’re doing, you’d better do it fast. You might have a nuke coming in, heading straight for the city,” said Samuel after overhearing all of that.
“I’m sorry, did someone say Nuke?!” Alex replied in a semi-alarmed tone.
“Nothing is certain as of yet, but I need you to haul a**; help Zierian out.”
Willis and Alex, all converge on his location. Caitlin and Bayard eventually wake up, brush the dirt and gravel off their bodies, get back into their ranger forms and join them.
“Joanna, Max, I need you to fly out to the helicarrier; it’s under attack. Starla and I will mop up here.”
Max and Joanna acknowledge and then take off flying.
“How do you expect us to handle all this by ourselves?”
“I got one more trick up my sleeve.” Samuel smirked before he holds up his hand. His suit recedes from his right hand, “I’m gonna need your help with this one; the workload is far too great when summoning this one through my glove.”
Starla holds up her right hand too. With the combined power of their gloves, they summon the WASP stinger Mark II onto the rooftop beside them.
“Remember, the main guns take time to recharge, but the mini-guns don’t; they take up less energy.”
After standing up against the Minotaur, Willis, Alex, Bayard, Caitlin, and Zierian form a pentagon around it. they hold up their hands and their repulsor’s glow brightly as they prepare to fire. Willis thought it would be a good idea if they all combine their streams; the blast should be powerful enough to destroy it for good, but the downside would be they wouldn’t be able to escape the blast. It was a risk he was willing to take. Caitlin and the others put their faith in him as they put the plan into action. After they fire, their beams form a ball of white light around the enemy, which built up and built up until it was only a couple inches away from our heroes.
The Minotaur was destroyed instantly, but the rangers were blown back by the devastating force. The impact of the blast was enough to knock them out of their ranger forms. They lied on their backs, struggling to get up like a turtle on its back in the sun except without the shell.
“Is everyone alright?”
“Alright? We’re lucky to be alive after that.”
“Thanks a lot for suggesting that, Willis…”
“Well, dad said time is short.”
Bayard scoffed.
“Look, it’s dead isn’t it? And look…” Willis replied as he walked over, stooped down, and picked up what appeared to be the dagger they were after. “The dagger’s still in one piece.”
“Then let’s get it to the portal and end this nightmare. Why are we still standing here?” Alex holds his arm in front of him at an angle and says his go-code, but there was no response. “I can’t morph.”
Willis and Caitlin try theirs, but get the same result.
“Great, the morpher’s broke.”
“Way to go, Willis…”
“Look, I’m sorry, alright. Next time we’re up against a powerful enemy, I’ll just stay silent and let everyone get their butts kicked,” Willis said sarcastically.
While they stood there arguing, a squadron was slowly moving in their direction. The team didn’t notice until they were up very close and the bombardment started.
Their morphers may not be working, but they could still summon their weapons. They summon their laser pistols and stand in a circle once the enemy surrounds them.
“Great, just what we needed…”
“Can you guys handle this on your own?” Zierian asked.
“Where are you going?”
“Where do you think; to the portal, I’m the only one can fly: with or without my powers.”
“Good luck, man…”
“Same to you,” Zierian speeds off in the southeast direction and is immediately followed by enemies.
Meanwhile, out at sea, the ship was still getting pounded by the water elemental. Joanna and Max finally make it in time to help out. Max was the first to attack. He deploys rockets from his suit’s shoulder compartments and blows up a couple of the monster’s arms and then banks left between two more arms on the north end of the ship.
“Megan, what’s the best way to defeat this thing?”
“There’s a massive buildup of energy underneath the vessel. I believe if you destroy that, the elemental will cease to exist.”
“Are we able to breathe underwater in these suits?”
“It hasn’t been tested, but I believe so.”
“That’s comforting…”
“Perhaps Miss Ortiz would prefer I lie to her?”
“That’d make me feel a tad bit better, yes.” Joanna dives straight into the ocean from the air. She didn’t know how to swim, but there was no need, since she can propel through the water with the suit’s repulsion system. She pulls a 180 and sees the beast perched on the bottom of the ship like a barnacle to a whale. She bombarded it with every she had, but it didn’t work. The beast was slightly damaged, but still it stood.
“Grant, there’s a nuke heading for the city. It’s heading from the north and is set to blow once it reaches the center.”
“Roger that; anyone copy?”
“This is Caitlin here, I copy; but our morphers are broken. What do you want us to do?”
“Oh alright, I’m on it…”
“What are ya gonna do?” Samuel asked Starla.
“Whatever I can…”
With how fast Starla went, it took her only five minutes to reach the shores of Miami beach and then the city. She sees the bright lights of the missile’s afterburner and the rocket itself getting closer.
She attaches to the bottom of it with her hands firmly around it, holding it over her head. she veers slightly to her left and takes the rocket southeast across the ocean.
Zierian stood at the top of the portal generating device as Pearson instructed, with the dagger in his hand, he slowly pointed it towards the giant metal ring, “Guys, I can close the portal.”
“Close it and then get Dr. Pearson and yourself out of the way.”
“What the hell for?” Pearson said into the microphone.
“I got a way to destroy the machine.”
“Zierian, when you close it, throw the dagger directly into it.”
“Yes doctor…”
Starla releases the rocket once it was on a direct course for the Bermuda Triangle.
Zierian points the dagger and green energy surges through it, shoots out of the tip and makes a curve as it drops into the portal. In a green flash, the energy causes the portal to collapse; when it was only several inches wide, Zierian through the weapon through to the other side. Zierian then teleports inside and grabs the doctor.
“C’mon, we gotta go.”
“What about these jewels?”
“Leave’em; they’ve done nothing damage in this world.”
The missile Starla had guided towards the triangle splashes into the ocean and keeps going. A detonation happens underwater; the entire machine, including the part above sea level, crumbles.
As a chain reaction, all of the enemies on the landmass surrounding the Bermuda Triangle fall dead in the streets and on the rooftops.
All was quiet. There were no more explosions, no more loud footsteps of some giant entity. The war, as far as everyone knew, had come to an end.
“Uh… anyone else seeing this…?”
“Yeah, I think we won.”
“The water elemental gone too…” Joanna said.
“Score one for Operation W.A.S.P.; nothing can keep us down!”
“Let’s just hope we have better luck with Lucren next time we see him…”
“If he shows his face on earth again, I’ll have a surprise for him,” Samuel replied.
“You’re not tackling him alone. You can count me in too.”
“If Alex is coming back, then so am I…”
“Guys… how about we discuss this while we eat? Anybody else hungry; I’m buying.”
“What restaurants are still standing?”
“What about Steve’s Pizza down on Dixie Highway?” Joanna replied.
“Who’s up for pizza?”
Samuel, Zierian, Starla, Max, and Joanna fly there while the others summon their motorcycles from all the way at Samuel’s new Mansion in California and drive there. Samuel had already got a table for nine and he, Joanna, Max, Starla, and Zierian wait on Willis, Caitlin, Alex, and Bayard.
“Look, if you guys are serious about joining the team, there’s a couple things you need to go through first.” Samuel explained.
“Like what?” Joanna asked.
“You’ll need a superpower; it’s not just for an added boost to your physical abilities, but also to make you more durable in battle.”
“Yeah, like how Max and Willis had super speed and super strength or how I have laser vision,” Caitlin explained.
“Or how I can morph into different animals.”
“Everyone, except for me, has a special power; and that power also gives them excellent regenerating capabilities.”
“Will it hurt; the process I mean…”
“It’s actually pretty harmless.”
“What’s the other thing?”
“You’ll need to brush up on your combat skills, cuz when you fought Dvio, you were… a lil rusty.”
