Shasa was feeling pretty good about her weapons. They'd grown to be more comfortable in her hands - the heft of the hilt, the way they fired - and so when she caught sight of a familiar looking creature, she did not hesitate to fire. The sound of fire was what drew Remye in; she had to admire the guns. Damage from a distance sounded appealing, but her spear was quickly becoming an extension of her arm. She saw the creature before she saw Shasa, and leapt into battle, stabbing into the creature (and nearly missing, but not quite! IT COUNTS OKAY?).
Then she looked to the one with the shooter, and grinned. "Hey, don't I know you?" She squinted. Shasa's finesse and clear-headedness in the face of adversity was impressive, and Shaw found himself tagging along with her more often than not. He, on the other hand, had decided to be the Babe Ruth of staff users. It was probably not as graceful or impressive, but it was fairly effective. He pointed out to where he imagined 'left field' to be, and then smacked the creature in the face. Distantly, he wished his ever evasive inner recollections involved something more poignant than baseball metaphors. She was on a mission of search and recovery, but Simmy could always stop to help new friends, even if they didn't know they were her friends yet. The elation over more companions must have distracted her just a little too much, however - she barely grazed the creature. Encouraged by the growing party (and only a little jelly of their guns), Remye lunged at the monster, stabbing down with her spear and somehow doing enough damage to crack the screen entirely. Holy crap, she actually did good damage. She leaned back, yanking her spear back, and had the good grace to look momentarily sheepish.

"Hah, thanks." She said to Shasa, picking up her loot with a grin. "Still getting used to the weight of it, but..." She looked over, grinning. "Getting there, anyway." She hefted her spear over her shoulder, entertained. "They're getting easier, I swear."
