As was mentioned in the brochure that circulated around the island, the designated meeting place for all Pae'il who signed up for the Back to Nature Hike was just on the southern edge of Tuatha'Ri Lake, where the beach meets the Chai'en River (which separates Loka Nei Forest with the jungle in the north, forest in the south). The area was buzzing with activity as Avalon fairies dressed for the hike in their khaki shirts and shorts and tiny little safari hats prepared for the incoming Pae'il. Fairies were checking over backpacks, canteens, and a couple large hand carts full of supplies.
Back to Nature Hike was an outdoor enthusiasts dream. There was going to camping, hiking, fishing, white-water rafting, and even some treasure hunting as they explored the ruins near the Fae Clearing. The fairies were going to supply everything the Pae'il needed, so as everypae checked in, they'd be given a backpack, tent, bedroll and canteen. Inside the backpack were a week's worth of food rations (trailmix, jerky, special fairy-prepared meals that required only water to rehydrate-for emergencies). One of the handcarts is supplied with food, and a fairy chef so they'd eat well at camp. The food in the backpack was for emergencies.
Also included in the backpackmatches a pocket knife pocket lantern (fueled by algae) a bandana bug repellant a small first-aid kit prepared by the fairies of the Fallassion House of Healing (bandages, poltice, herbs, etc.) 2 flares a small shovel a solar blanket.
"Welcome! We're so glad you chose to spend your summer vacation with us for our special Back to Nature Hike through the esteemed Loka Nei Jungle. We're going to be exploring some newly discovered sites and learning why the forest turned into a jungle. MAGIC!" the little fairy, who happened to be on the portly side so his little khaki shirt buttons looked ready to burst. "We're going treasure hunting and promise an exciting archaeological experience!"
Overjoyed and bouncing with excitement, he announced, "We'll head out around noon so we can make camp before sundown."
(NOTE: Pae'il do not have to pair up with their OOC-assigned partners at this time. They are free to show up, gather their supplies and socialize. The scenario will make it clear when the partnering portion of the event is to begin. You may RP in here for now while we get things started.)

Lira had gotten to the meeting ground, got the backpack, didn't really care what was in it, ignored the Fae and decided that pacing would be a better use Of her time as she was nervous, dreadfully, dreadfully nervous and she wasn't even sure if Kaiden has signed up for this, she just hoped he had and they would be able to do it together, have fun with it, but the reality of it all was that she didn't do these sorts of things, she didn't venture out of the tree, she didn't want to venture out of the tree, she wanted to remain around the tree, close to where she could be protected if anything went wrong, this was just WAY too far out of her comfort zone and what about darling Arik? What if they didn't come back!? What would happen to him? She couldn't leave the poor darling! She just couldn't! She would never forgive herself if something happened out there and he was left parentless again! Lira looked around for Kaiden, deciding that she was going to go back, she could go venture into some jungle another time...like....when she had gotten used to venturing outside and around the tree a bit more, she wasn't ready to go into some wilderness where she could be killed by some vicious animal. Where they were going had God knows what out there and she didn't want to take part in it, she changed her mind, she thought it might be a good excursion for her and Kaiden, maybe become a bit closer in their friendship, that was always good right? Nice bonding exercise? But now that she thought about it she was wrong, it was a bad choice, she shouldn't of said yes, it was true that her and Kaiden getting close was a good thing and one of the two reasons she said yes, the other, she was, admittedly, curious as to what could be in this forest but no more, she wanted to go home.
Lira should of just ignored the brochure! And besides, who REALLY knows what these Fairies are like!? For all she knew they were just leading them to their doom! No, they wouldn't, she may not know much about them but she doubted they would set all this up just to kill them off but really, the sooner she saw Kaiden, if she saw him, to tell him she was going home the better, she hateded to pull out like this but all the reasons she should not go were a lot more sane sounding to her then the reasons she should. Sure she trusted Kaiden to keep her safe but she also didn't want to put that much pressure on him and she shouldn't have to, he should be able to enjoy this! So home she would go, home to where she could just spend the time with Arik, that would be far more fun then trying to not be eaten by some wild animal right?

Arriving early, Joi quietly surveyed the set up. She smiled slightly at the thought of how this seemed so juvenile. Like something the children should be doing, not full-grown adults. Going off to the woods to learn? Yeah, that's something the children need to learn. She knows this woods as well as these fairies since she grew up them. She wondered what more there was she wasn't aware.
Sighing, she approached the check-in fairy. She was doing this for mother. For research because Dizzy couldn't make it, but she wanted to know what new discoveries the little Avalons have made in their home wood.
Joi was very confident she'd not get lost, so she almost turned down the offered pack. But she didn't want to seem smug. She wanted to make the best of this because it was a vacation adventure. And she was here not only for research for her mom, but she was hoping to make new friends.
She nodded her head, and thanked the little portly fairy, trying not to giggle at him. She looked in the pack to see if they included an itinerary. Odd that they didn't.

Walking in quickly, the princess tried to remain around the least-populated groups. She had come in before many of them, immediately at the earliest time specified, and moved with purpose directly to the check-in area. Her eyes never seemed to raise from the ground, and not once did she look at another pae directly. Save for the fauny and the fae which, much to her pleasant surprise, seemed to be numerous on this trip. Perhaps that was the reason Clairvoyance had recommended her to come to this specific one of the retreats, that she knew there would be many here that did not trigger the horrible images of vacant eyes and spilling innards as the blood pae and faun did.
This was the reason for her recent reclusive behavior within her room, to avoid the constant reminders of that horrid dream that merely seeing a faun would bring. Only by remaining in her room was she able to limit them. Likely, were it not for her mellon's intervention, Celestia would have remained like this for far longer. She had told the princess that, while in this state, she was distancing herself further and further from those she considered closest, that she had even missed the birth of three little alicorns by Cadance and Shining Armor. While she hid herself from the world, the world had simply continued on without her.
It had been the piece of hard reality she needed to leave.
That didn't make it any easier, however, to ignore the flickering flashbacks or to pretend that nothing was the matter. Even if she could walk with the posture of her old position, she could not help but avert her eyes and quicken her pace, hoping to return to her solitude quickly.
After taking the backpack, she thanked the fairy before quietly retreating to the edge of the meeting location to sit down and look through it.

A piercing howl cut through the dense forest, preceding the crashing sounds of someone...or something...moving through the forest at great speed. More than just one, from the sound of it...
Skidding to a halt at the assigned meeting place, barely avoiding bowling over a pair of Pae'il speaking near the edge of the clearing, a fuzzy teenage Faun whirled and pointed with a laugh. "Ha! I win!"
A grey, mottled wolf skidded into the meeting area just behind the teen Faun. She wore a look of indignation, her lip lifting in a sneer. Uppity kid. Just cause she chose NOT to crash headlong through that patch of saplings and take a twig to the eye...
Snorting, she shook her head and padded in a circle, sending glares towards any Pae'il looking her way. Ugh, the shame. Bested by a whelp.
Behind the pair, at a much more controlled pace, though still swift, a grey Faun followed. He chuckled at the duo, shaking his head at the wolf. "He may have eaten a mouthful of branches for it, but he did beat you, Raina." He only chuckled again at the answering growl from his canine companion. He crossed to the boy, pausing to pick some loose leaves from his hair. "Alright kid, guess we made it this far. Let's see what these fairies can teach us, eh?"
As Faroth left to go talk to some of the plump little fairies, Ranuin leaned over, panting and catching his breath. Looking at the pouting wolf, he moved over towards her on silent paws, reaching out to scratch behind her ear. She shot him a glare at first...but she couldn't hide the swish of her tail in the dirt.
Faroth returned shortly after the 'apology', tossing a pack at his son with a grin. "Looks like we're well-outfitted for this. Shouldn't be too hard, right, kiddo?"

At the sound of a wolf's howl, Celestia visibly jolted as she looked towards the patch of forest it came from. Branches cracking, leaves rustling, were they coming for her? Had they found her, away from her safe place? No... The blood pae of this time were different... They had to be... Yet, this panic, this fear, remained.
A sigh escaped the princess's lips as they instead revealed themselves to be faun, and a smile almost reached her lips at the young ones' youth. Almost. The momentary flashes of horror, of arrows piercing their necks and holes exposing their organs, forcing her to quickly avert her eyes away to the ground, her attention instead on keeping her breathing calm and the sudden dizziness of her head from overtaking her.
