Personality:
- Kojiro is actually, despite his hollow roots, a genuinely kind person. He has a tendency to space out and merely stare up at the sky, giving him an air of lightheartededness and whimsy. Even his somewhat condescending smile isn't by nature, but facial shape, a mere draw of poor luck. Given his kindness, he is also, for lack of a better term, shy. When snuck up on, he tends to flee reflexively before his thoughts can collect. This quick to startle part of him often brings him the taunts of many opponents, especially about his cowardice. Despite this so called cowardice, Kojiro is a very in-your-face fighter, using mostly close quarters techniques, predominantly kicks, to fight.
As a fighter, he appears very stoic due to his quiet demeanor. This is mostly because he tries not to gloat, taunt, or even correct his opponent's mistakes, attempting to say literally nothing, save the natural sounds of bodies meeting that come in battle. This, too, like his out of combat personality, often meets complaints and taunts, no matter what he tries. Rather than aiming for kill shots, Kojiro prefers immediate crippling blows. He does this simply to shorten a fight and make his opponent flee, lest they face more serious injury.
Although timid, the Deer Arrancar is rather protective over one article of clothing. Although generally much harder to destroy than the rest of his clothing, the Ofuda collar he wears can in fact be torn apart with repeated, almost targeted effort. When this does happen, although there may not be any changes at all, it does open up a flood gate of emotions that Kojiro has not experienced in a while. While usually harmless outside of battle, in combat, it may cause a sudden, unwarranted, and short term personality change while the seal repairs itself. During this time period, Kojiro is more prone to violent, highly destructive actions, whether they harm others or himself.
Sexual Preference:
- Straight
Family:
- None
Background:
- There are few living creatures in any world that are older than Kojiro, not that he could remember all of it to tell you. He has witnessed empires rise and fall, caused riots, and even created false killers. His foot print in time steps back further than most care to remember. His story is long, but starts with the herd.
The herd is what it sounds like. Kojiro was, in life, a deer. Not one of the kind many think about today. He is older, ancient compared to them. He was massive, several times larger than some species that populate the world now. He was born a part of it and grew as a part of it. He lived as any animal should. Born wild, living wild, the simple freedom of a feral life. It wasn't until nearly a decade later that himself and his herd met with misfortune. They had met, for the first time, hunters.
The hunters were, as were any hunters, humans, predators like any other, merely more adaptable, more dangerous to the animals. They could prey on anything and need not live in constant fear. When they swept up on the herd that Kojiro was a part of, it was fast, it was unexpected, and it was terrible. Although the humans were armed with only spears, but that was all they needed. The deer had been asleep when they hunters came. Although the first throes of death woke the rest, it was a panicked stampede and many fell, others took the predators with them, but it was still a nerve wracking experience. Kojiro escaped, but not unharmed. He had been speared and taken the weapon with him, and he hoped the attacker too. Blood loss took him eventually, and his body was devoured.
The soul of animals is a topic breached in the modern word but never thought of often in the ancient world. But in this case, for some reason his soul was left in the world of the living. It did not pass on, or in the event that the soul of animals never passed on, had manifested. Whatever the case, Kojiro's ghost began to haunt the world. Being a deer, he hadn't the processing ability to think it through. He was an animal, his brain was not as developed or powerful as others. When he tried to eat grass, it didn't fill him, but he never felt hungry. When Kojiro tried to drink water, he never sated his thirst, which he never had. As it was, he couldn't even figure out exactly what he was supposed to do. It was only logical that he became a hollow.
As a hollow, an already rather mindless eating machine, the beast that Kojiro had become was perhaps even more so, going on an endless rampage for several long centuries. When he had progressed and devoured enough to develop more complex thinking abilities, his rage and hunger dampened. Or rather, he was smart enough to not mindlessly kill. However, before he was even able to try out this new mind, he was pulled into something, dragged into a world where there were no humans, only desert and others like himself. He had entered Hueco Mundo.
Once there, he entered another rage. His targets were endless. He would trample, impale, brutalize, and bash anything that dared stand between him and his want to re-enter the World of the Living. The desire overwhelmed him as did his ever growing hunger. But still he killed and ate, always blindly working towards that goal. And then, slowly, he began to change. He slowly lost his animal form, the massive brutal buck he had been. It became, more human-like, but still far from it. He became even smarter, even stronger, even faster. His mind caught up with his actions, and he forced his way back into the the lives of the human race. The rampant beast was no more. The once timid and lively deer had grown, had become lethal. He had become the predator. He lusted for the souls of humans and the weaklings of his own, new race, a race that was invisible to humans it seemed. All for the better, they would never see him coming. As one of the middle level hollows, Kojiro became more vicious, more brutal..... methodical. He would stalk humans, hunt them like they had once hunted himself and his herd, often wiping out groups of him. He learned to speak, to cry out and attract the attention of some humans, and strike fear into others. He desired nothing more than to watch their faces contort into fear and pain, twist into unrecognizable agony as he gutted them, bled them out, strung their insides across streets. Wherever he went, cries of mysterious murderers followed. One place even gave him the name "Jack the Ripper". One man took his credit for it, a cowardly man who had fled the scene and escaped the slaughter. Kojiro would have gave chase, but it would have been more fun to watch humans execute the man so he could feed on the wrath within his victim. Oh yes, he had become so smart, so cunning. All the while, he became more human. His mind was slowly torn in two, despising what he was becoming from a natural, philosophical stand point that had developed in the complex mind, the other half loving what it allowed him to do. They clashed for his consciousness for decades. Sometimes, Kojiro would murder humans for days on end, other times, he would ball up in a house an scream and cry, prompting a small batch of ghost stories in the process. Even though they argued, they both wanted to become more human. It was a common desire, a subconscious desire Kojiro had not known until his mind began to be warred over. It was because of this, that when he slaughtered, he killed the most attractive things he could find. He became closer and closer to human. Although there was no term for it, not that he knew of, he had become a Vasto Lorde classed hollow before something finally gave in.
There came an intermediate period. Although Kojiro had acquired one of the highest classes a Hollow could gather, there was a point when his mind seemed to leave him. As a Vasto Lorde, he sat there, waiting for his mind to return to his body, to claim ownership of the husk they left behind. He could only sit there, sit there and remember. Much of it was useless, but somethings, painful things, resurfaced. Although he does not know how many hollows can remember each and every transformation they make, he remembered the first one, the one that separated the shape of a beast with the beginnings of a man. It was painful. It felt like needles had pierced every bit of him. His bones broke and shaped themselves again, his organs were scrunched together and placed in new positions. His body was twisted and contorted, shrunk even. But he remembered his hooves the most. They had begun to crack and splinter and even bleed. They broke apart, the littlest remains of what were once feet splintered and broke off to hands with long nails. The hands and the nails themselves drenched in a red for a while. These nails where weapons, but they were unwelcome ones. It was this memory in particular that forced a decision that would create the future Kojiro was destined to have.
As the twentieth century came about, Kojiro's mind finally gave itself to a persona. The kinder side had won out, his mind was at ease, but at what cost? He didn't even look like he did before hand at all. Not even his most recent humanoid shape looked much like this. He had become an Arrancar by natural means. But he still felt that hunger. He was more human now, was that the result of it? No, he remembered feeling it when he was bestial and unstoppable. He would always feel it. However, human was not the right term. No, not more human, basically human, perhaps a more evolved one. There were... differences. He had horns. He could do things no human could. But he was... human, at least in spirit and virtually all physical appearance. He decided that, to prevent anymore damage to himself, he needed to do something about it. At first, he swore off of violence, but decided that wasn't enough and tracked down humans that were steeped in mysticism. He was lucky to find one, just one who could see and speak to him. Despite his differences, she helped him and made a charm. It wouldn't get rid of the memories, wouldn't stop them from coming up, but it would help repress the emotions he felt when they were brought up. The woman fashioned a collar, a collar just for him with an Ofuda attached. He thanked her and left. Of course, once she had placed the clothing on him, it became invisible to everyone else, it became a part of him of course.
Returning to Hueco Mundo, he stayed there. He would watch others come and go to and from the Human World, usually with forlorn or sad eyes. He took to wandering the endless sands, finding tall dunes where he would stare at the moon for what could be days on end. There was no way to tell, he couldn't figure it out. When he grew bored of the moon and wanted to see the Sun, he would leave and go to the Human World, merely stare at the sky. The Sun hurt his eyes when he had tried, so he merely looked away from it. But still the hunger lingered. He tried to wholly suppress it, but from time to time, he just had to eat something. He took to the other hollows as his form of sustenance. Although consuming them was a much disdained and unwanted rarity, he made it as painless as possible for the prey. This still only benefited him though, slowly adding to his power. Slowly, he took more measures to distract himself. He thought back, remembered times when he could walk across forests or bound across plains without ever stopping. He began running rather than watching the skies of Hueco Mundo. When he wanted to leap and bound, he went to the Human World, trying to jump the ever growing buildings. He succeeded for a while at first, but after a while, he began to fall off, never seeming to jump any higher, only able to jump the most average of homes. He stopped running and started to bound wherever he went when he sprinted, just like he used to. It killed his speed at first and exhausted him greatly, but years of dedication pulled through. He had become a human, but one who enjoyed much of what he had loved as a gentle giant of the ancient plains. It was harmony. What he was and what he loved, only eating when necessary. But how long would it last?

COMBAT____
- Strength:
- Almost all of Kojiro's strength lies in his lower body muscles. He's spent the majority of his life on all fours, which lent him a certain amount of power to begin with. But in the later years, the more recent years, he's devoted his time to training up his lower body, improving his speed. Because of this, his sword swings aren't particularly powerful, and neither are his punches or the swipes he may make with his nails, but his kicks and knees are extremely strong and extremely swift. Those years of training the lower body haven't just affected his physical strength either.
Speed:
- Exceptional would probably be one of many words that describe Kojiro's speed. Much of his training has been devoted strictly to his lower body. This works well for him since his kicks, a type of blow already basically the strongest in the body, have become downright destructive. While he doesn't technically run, that doesn't make him any slower either. And with the bounding sprint that he performs, he's able to deliver kicks and knee strikes at incredible speeds, as if his muscles were simply on a spring mechanism and merely needed to have the trigger pulled. It should be noted that his speed is actually fast enough for him that, combined with his strength, he can literally perform wall jumps up the sides of upright objects, ricocheting to the top of structures.
Intelligence:
- Alas, although he has been alive for longer than just about anybody cares to remember, he is not overly intelligent. At best, it is average, perhaps posing above average questions. The Deer Arrancar has lived a long life and learned many things, seen many things, thought many questions. It is only reasonable he may post highly philosophical inquiries. But, he is not truly intelligent, merely an average mind in an average body. The only mental power he has is what he has gained over his years at life. Even the art of talking is an ability that is new to him, although he does know several languages ranging from English of the British variety, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. How he even remembers these is kind of like a medical mental mystery.
Stamina:
- As one who quite literally bounds whenever he runs out of sheer force of habit, Kojiro has extremely large amounts of stamina. Although running for days may be nothing to an Arrancar or Shinigami, it is impressive to the average intellectual that is Kojiro, and the fact he can do so while doing what is running to him is impressive. His ability to jump continuously is what he uses to build up his stamina, and as such, his explosive muscular power is extraordinary, which led to massive stamina growth. As such, attempting to wear him down in a fight is an extremely poor choice, as he's likely to outlast most foes.
Durability:
- Alas, Kojiro is not as durable as his brethren. He does have a rather durable head, as deer often do, and getting skull bashed by him hurts more than it would with a normal person, but this is not extended to the rest of his body. Like his intelligence, his body's ability to ward off injury is only average at best, unless his head is involved, in which case he's probably going to come out alright.
Spiritual Pressure:
- To say that Kojiro has a massive presence in any way shape or form is absolutely false. He does have a very large pool of reiryoku that he may draw from, one that he's gathered predominantly from age, but he has no idea how to control it. When his adrenaline spikes, such as in battle or when he's startled, his pressure mirrors it, spiking up as well or beating against the pressure of his foe. Otherwise, it is merely a talent he's never learned. He cannot create reiatsu, and as such, cannot intimidate foes into defeat by that means. The benefit of this is that he may garner the attention of particularly weak foes and end up with an easy fight.
Swordsmanship:
- Kojiro has a sword, but his abilities with one are rudimentary at best. Block, slash, twirl, stab. That's about as extensive as he knows, although he may get a little fancy with it from time to time by sheer accident or a sudden burst of imagination. However, he tends to only draw his sword when he must release, preferring to use the claws on his hands to his sword, and even then, he prefers to use his feet over his hands.
Special Training:
- "Bound"less Energy: Kojiro has far above the par for endurance and as such, he's incredibly hard to outlast. This is solely because of his extreme training in his lower body, ranging from high jumps, quick, repeated jumps, and running.
What's a Wind-Up? When involving his lower body, Kojiro's muscles are extremely strong. They pack a lot of explosive and lasting power, allowing him to not only outlast many, but cause lots of damage in the process. When involving kicks and knees, Kojiro has an extremely short wind up, so much so that to the untrained eye the delay between one his kicks and the start of it may be zero. His muscles react like a spring, so as fast as his brain can send the signal, they deliver the blow, creating a "revolver effect" in which his lower body based blows can be compared to the speed a hammer on a cocked revolver hits the bullet. This allows Kojiro to kick "as fast as he can fan the hammer."
Personal Abilities:
- Jump Over The Moon: Kojiro's leg strength is quite powerful, and as long as he's got something solid to bounce off of, he can keep jumping. As it stands, he can do a standing jump up to ten feet in height with pure physical force alone.
Going to Sit Here For a While: Kojiro has exceptional balance as most deer and things of their genus do. As such, if he really bothers to try, he finds himself able to balance on some really idiotic things. This is best compared to the large boulders that balance atop a much smaller pointed rock or pile of rocks.
The 36-hit Combo: Kojiro liked the name of this so he kind of kept it around. Although the reference is long lost to his mind, it is accurate that he can produce thirty-six of his powerful kicks consecutively without stop before he must stop because "his leg begins to get extremely hot." This is in part due to friction from the air of his kicking speed, but more related to the fact his muscles and tendons are giving way to the strain.
Rock Head: Although his durability isn't that great, Kojiro was a deer at one point and has horns now. His head is pretty hard considering the rest of him is rather average. if you're looking for somewhere to punch or kick, this is not a suggested area to do so. You may end up hurting yourself.
ZANPAKUTO____
- Zanpakutō Name:
- Shiroshika
Zanpakutō Type:
- Melee
Sealed Zanpakutō:
RESURRECION____
- Resurrección Command:
- Stain your coat, Shiroshika
Release Appearance:
- Flipping his zanpakuto to himself and doing what appears to be Seppuku while chanting his release phrase, Kojiro undergoes transformation. Forgoing a sword entirely, a thick white armor grows up from his feet to his thighs, leaving the area near his inner thighs free of the armor. His knees are also given the same freedom to keep their flexibility. His feet seem to contort more to hooves, being more of a perfect circle than the shape of a human's foot, making them have a smaller point of impact. Between the lower amount of contact and the heavier armor, this increases the power of his kicks, granting more power to snap kicks and other varieties of kicks alike. The horns on his head begin to grow branches that curve upwards and outwards, giving him a pair of antlers with sharp tips perfect for impalement. Undoubtedly, he could catch a zanpakuto in his antlers. The red markings on his body are consumed by the bone like armor as well, trailing down from the base of the horns and creating something like the outline of an armor along his body. This bone outline stretches all over from his face, to his arms, and right down to the bone plating upon his legs.
Description:
- Being a melee zanpakuto, it's almost needless to say that it bolsters his physical strength and speed, not to mention the antlers are a nice, deadly touch. The whole purpose of this zanpakuto is to add major destructive force to Kojiro's already destructive legs while giving him the utility he needs to move about the battlefield safely. As such, most of his techniques host an immediate battlefield use that can be used as utility in the right circumstances.
Abilities:
- Nagareboshi [Shooting Star]
"Watch for the debris."
The user performs a quick three hundred sixty degree spin, launching a side kick in the foe's direction. As they launch the kick, they are encased in a harmless spiritual fire that creates a tail as the user is launched at the foe. Upon impact, or where impact should have been, the force explodes outwards from the foot of the user, creating a three meter bubble of force that is rocketed forth from the intended point of impact. This bubble itself, when used on empty air, can be used as a second part of the attack. When in contact with the ground, it creates a crater much like a normal meteor would.
Fuminjiru [Trample]
"Welcome to the bottom of the food chain."
Bringing up his foot, either by raising it fully off the ground, flipping into the air, or extending his leg up for an ax kick, and then bringing it back to the ground, the user creates an impact point that spreads outwards, causing the surrounding five meters to physically experience a stampede on top of it. Although the user remains unaffected, people and objects in the area are not, usually sustaining some form of moderate to heavy damage. It should be noted that being under his foot when it's brought down is extremely unsafe, as the point of impact involves even more damage, namely the act of being physically struck and then forcibly held down while the trampling passes by.Shougeki [Crash]
"It all falls down."
Initiated by basically doing anything that would place the foe above the opponent, or by simply using the initial hit of the attack itself, this is an extremely strong, but not necessarily deadly, attack. Although as mentioned, the user prefers to launch the opponent up into the air first, the initial hit is always to follow. By stamping on the ground, the user creates a tall pillar out of the earth that rises up suddenly and quickly up to ten meters in height, no further than three meters away, able to cause minor blunt force trauma to the foe should it catch them. If the foe is in the air above the pillar, they are kicked down into the pillar with such force they actually force it to crack open and fall apart. Usually that amount of force is able to kick them through the obelisk as well. Should they simply be on the pillar, Kojiro kicks them down through it. If the foe avoided all attempts to put them up in the air, or moved away from above the pillar, Kojiro will still attempt to kick them towards the ground with substantial amounts of force.
Mo Dasshu [Mad Dash]
"Race ya!"
Commonly used with Nagareboshi, this is perhaps the deadliest technique in Kojiro's first release. A combination of an instant and short lived speed enhancement and a force multiplier, this technique uses momentum to it's maximum potential. When a foe is either physically moving from their location by choice or sent flying by one of Kojiro's attacks, Kojiro shimmers, moving at a much higher than normal speed to come at the foe from pretty much any direction available to him and throwing a kick. Should the blow connect, not only does the foe feel the blow but they feel the momentum they just had again at full, undiluted force. While walking opponents or foes not moving quickly (or at all) are at little risk from this technique, enemies using Shunpo or Sonido, or worse yet, sent flying by Kojiro, are at a much higher risk since it forces them to experience a set of attacks at what is effectively three times the normal force. Because of the way net force collisions are the deadliest, this makes this attack quite deadly and although Kojiro delivers a blow, due to the fact that in net force, the strongest force wins, the renewed momentum on their bodies can actually push him back from the point he struck.
Shindou [Tremor]
"Did you feel that?
The user stomps the ground and creating a large cloud of dust to hide himself in while he burrows into the ground, coming up from beneath the foe for a powerful lifting kick. Should the user be on a thinner material, such as a building, this is useful for going down, since they'll put a hole straight through to the next floor, but that's about it. Since it can only be used on the ground, it's pretty useless in air, and although water can be crystal clear, it can be used on the surface of water to the same effect as solid ground.
SEGUNDA__ETAPA____
- Segunda Etapa:
- Akashika [Red Deer]
Segunda Etapa Command:
- Covered in crimson we march, Akashika
Release Appearance:
- His Segunda Etapa looks much like his Ressurreccion, with one key difference. The red markings that had turned to the odd bone like outline of armor raise up higher as the armor fills in the blank space between the outlines, turning into a thick bone like covering that protects most of Kojiro's vitals. Additionally, the raised parts of the covering that overlay the markings on his skin turn back from white to red, giving his armor a painted appearance. Along with the rest of this, his rack of antlers grow wider and a bit taller as well as sharper.
Description:
- Being a melee release exactly like his Ressurreccion, it possesses a combination of force multiplication, mild utility, and gap closing to keep him constantly in the range of the fight he prefers. As such, it loses most of the benefit of range that it did have in the first release, making up with significantly stronger physical attacks.
Abilities:
- Jishin [Earthquake]
"That's no earthquake."
Despite the name of this technique, it's not necessarily ranged. The actuality is that this technique has different consequences depending on the surface it was used on. By concentrating the focus of the impact into a single point, the user kicks at the opponent with one of the effects depending on what is directly on the other side of the foe from the attack. If air or water is the medium on the other side of the opponent, they suffer the good fortune of merely being sent flying, although sustain more damage from water than air. When used on solid ground, such as concrete, rock, or tightly packed dirt, the impact creates a concussive wave that causes damage to objects within ten meters, capable of shaking the foundation of buildings and thereby toppling them, cratering the earth underfoot, and uprooting or felling trees. On loose soil, such as at a beach or zen garden, it causes a quick sand effect with the tremors, actually allowing the ground to swallow up the target. Should the attack miss the foe, the resulting effects still occur, and needless to say that being on the receiving end of the direct impact is excessively painful.
Zero-ten [Zero Point]
"It's getting closer."
Not necessarily an attack in many senses, this technique is a wind up that bolsters the physical damage Kojiro can do for a short period of time [Lasts 1 Post]. When used, Kojiro emits a powerful, suppressive aura completely intent on throwing the foe to the ground should they be withing two meters of Kojiro. Consequently, this makes the technique a great counter attack when a foe is making an attempt to grapple him or use a gap closer of their own. Additionally, it allows him to use the final technique, Douten.
Douten [Heaven Shaking Event]
"Even the heavens tremble under my foot."
Usually used on an opponent who has been grounded or would have a hard time dodging, this is the strongest technique in Korijo's arsenal. Raising up one of his feet, a bolt of energy flies from the sky above and strikes Kojiro, throwing anyone within one meter of him to the ground to help make the attack even harder to dodge. As the foot comes down towards the foe, a much larger, perfectly noticeable foot appears, coming to crush the entire area underneath it within a ten meter range. For the entirety of the technique, from energy strike to the giant that crushes the battlefield, Kojiro seems entirely unaffected. Boasting a large range and massive amounts of power, this technique is highly deadly. However, it can only be used following Zero-ten.
SPIRITUAL__TECHNIQUES____
- Hollow Abilities:
Other:
- "Kick Ball" Cero: Not really a special Cero in and of itself, but an unusual trait involving his cero that puts him at a severe disadvantage when involving them but gives him great reward for it. Like most Arrancar, Kojiro knows the Bala, however, he is unable to perform a normal Cero. Even weirder is that his Bala is significantly stronger than standard Bala, and even stronger than many standard Cero not used by Cero specialists. This is because of his unusual delivery. When Kojiro creates a Cero, it floats freely in the air, not going anywhere. To make it move, he must kick it like a kick ball. Because of his impressive leg strength, this allows him to deliver extremely fast and unusually strong Cero. However, if his feet are locked or he's forced to run, his Cero merely evaporates and he's wasted the time and energy in making it. As such, although it's technically a Bala, he's renamed it the "Kick Ball Cero".
