Throughout his life, Jaiden learned many things, particularly about what he liked and disliked. He enjoyed coffee, adored his apartment and the solidarity of it, and loved silence. He was also quite fond of the indoors, where there lacked insects, outrageous weather, and nature. However, the one thing that stood significant through it all was his absolute intolerance towards people.
Such a fact was highlighted at that moment as Jaiden tapped impatiently on the counter, glowering at the barista who was currently make his coffee. He let out a growl, ears twitching, tail flickering in irritation, as he checked his watch. He was late. He hated being late. Sure, he didn't need to be there for another hour and a half but Jaiden was a very organized person. He had planned to spend fifteen minutes on his coffee, ten minutes of relaxation and reading the newspaper briefly, and then an additional thirty minutes getting to work.
However, due to the nitwit behind the bar, his schedule was becoming a complete trainwreck. If he had gotten his coffee at that moment he would only have thirteen minutes with his coffee. That irked him to no end. "Are all your employees are as incompetent as you? I said no whip cream and yet, you failed that simple order," Jaiden snapped, ears flat. "And then, you proceed to simply scoop it out, undermining my expectations for my money's worth. If I wanted coffee with scooped out whipped creamed, I would of ordered it."
Jaiden didn't feel he was being rude at all; in fact, it was her fault for providing cruddy service... he was the victim here! Unmindful of the pitying glances towards the barista and the glares and snarls directed at him, he resumed tapping his fingers on the counter, snarling at his watch from time to time. Ten minutes to drink his coffee. He scowled.

Ah, crap. Late again.
Ripley stared at the sun dial outside the quaint coffee shop that she worked at, and hesitantly glanced around. Her boss was going to have her hide for coming in for the umpteenth time, late to work. It didn’t aid her any that she was warned to arrive in a “timely” manner, or else there would be consequences. And quite frankly, she was tired of moving from one job to the next due to her work ethic, or rather, lack thereof.
Cursing herself mentally, the female eyed the inside of the coffeeshop behind dark shades, making sure her boss wasn’t around the front, before waltzing through the front entrance.
What she saw appalled her.
A male harassing one of her co-workers. Ripley had seen it countless times before, but it still irked her to no end. How rude. And she genuinely liked the other person behind the counter too. She was always friendly, albeit a bit daft, but she didn’t deserve to be yelled at for it.
Growling, the female strode over to the two, while putting on her apron quickly. “Hey, jerk,” she called, tying the back of the apron quick behind her back in a very sloppy knot. Grabbing a scalding cup of coffee on the counter (and proceeding to ignore the customer who complained about stealing their drink), she stormed towards the man and poured the hot beverage over the man’s head. She couldn’t give a care in the world if her boss saw this and fired her. The work was nice, but she wasn’t about to stand for someone being rude to a hard working employee. Even if she didn’t know her other co-worker all that well. The female was still nice and respectable. So what if she screwed up? The dude should man up and deal with it. “Scram. This place doesn’t need business from the likes of you.”
She sheepishly grinned when she saw that her scowling manager came out to see the commotion. Guess she was out of a job now. Well, ********.

The only warning he got was the name calling. Frowning, not quite positive if it was directed towards him, he went to turn around and check. It was then, at that moment, that a terrible burning liquid covered his head.
Letting out a shout of shock and hurt, he scrambled towards the paper towel dispenser and quickly ripped out a handful, dabbing up the rapidly cooling liquid off his now red skin. Letting out a hiss of pain, he whirled towards the perpetrator, who still had the cup in her hands. He glowered.
'b***h," he hissed, dabbing up the liquid more and flinching at the sensitivity; he was in dire need of an ointment. Looking over at the obvious manager, he leveled them with a murderous look. "Is this the type of employees you hire here?" he growled, before turning cold eyes on the female. "Are you insane?!"

Smiling smugly; Ripley placed the empty cardboard cup down on the counter top, and stared the other man down without a hint of offense in her looks. It was a jolly good thing to be called a b***h. She took it as a compliment. For when she did hear men call her that, it was always because they were upset with how they were treated. And maybe, afterwards they'd be keen enough to change their ways so the same incidence wouldn't happen again. Alas, she couldn't vouch if they ever did change their ways. They always seemed to...disappear. Odd. But not like she minded. She was well better off without those prat's anyhow.
She was so unperturbed by his glower, that, even though she had a smaller stature, she stepped up to the git confidently with a tilt of her lips, and stared him dead on. "Thanks," she quipped, "next time, don't harass a woman about her order, hm?"
Ripley could see that the owner was going to make a grievous apology and retort, however; she wouldn't let him do that. "Oh, he usually doesn't. He's actually a pleasant man, unlike you. And before you have the pleasure to see him fire me---here." she started untying the apron around her middle, stripping it off completely and throwing it at her manager. Unfortunately, it landed on the food display and not in the older gentleman's hands. But quite frankly, she couldn't give a rat's a** on the matter. "I quit."
And, as she was called insane, she could only chuckle. "Oh, utterly." she swept a hand through her slightly unkempt pink hair. "You haven't even seen me at my worse. If you depart with me, I'll be glad to show you more." Blue eyes rolled heavenward . The pompous p***k would most likely refuse. Ruining her little bit of joy for the afternoon. Ah well.
