Searching for someone specific in a vast amount of fog was surprisingly difficult. This fact should have probably been obvious, but Simmy slowly discovered that it was always the obvious things that she missed, her thoughts and questions skipping several steps past simplicity. She had begun to feel so discouraged that she was using her spear as a walking stick when she heard someone speaking through the fog. Her smile returned and she stood on her tippy-toes, expecting to see the tall form of... "Trebor?" ...a small Kitty waddled towards her. Sighing, she knocked it away and chewed on the end of her thumb. Her own movements were a little bit slower this time. She didn't run charging into battle, as she had numerous times before. Instead she waited, for just a bit before shifting her grip on Pride, one hand on the staff part of it as it leaned against her shoulder. "These things are relentless. Hello. Hello. Hello? Who says that..." She muttered to no one in particular before glancing over at the other girl. "Hello!" In a bright flash, a silvery blade had lodged itself halfway into the creature's head. It looked cool, until Nzsyoecsz got stuck trying to pull it back out again without getting mauled. "Not everything that talks is friendly," he warned, stumbling back and away from the thing with his blade in hand. They weren't who she was looking for, but Simmy wouldn't refuse a new acquaintance or two. They seemed friendly! The warning about 'everything that talks' was a little ominous, and had she been a bit more clever, she might have taken it as a hint to assess her safety around him...but she wasn't, so she didn't. "Hello!" Catching the irony also fell into the category of 'didn't'. "My name is Simmy, and it's nice to meet you, and you..." She pointed her spear at each of them in as friendly a way as someone could point a spear at someone else, then knocked the Kitty away again. How rude of it, intruding on her introductions. Trebor had no special powers. He wasn't psychic, and he wasn't actually able to be summoned by hearing his name. But he managed to show up, just out of coincidence, and fashionably late to boot. He made no ridiculous show of attack, when he returned - because he saw something that deserved his attention more. "Told you I'd find you again." He muttered under his breath as he leaned in while drive-by passing Simmy. Then he poked the kitty with his weapon, to be helpful. They still had a job to do, after all. The sword rested on his shoulder even as the kitty lashed at him, but he took the hit against his abs and stood his ground. "Sassy little s**t." OOC Name of character: Trebor Damage done: 1 CURRENT HP OF BOSS: 35 Current HP: 35/40 Special ability: Queens Chosen: You can choose three times every battle encounter to double your attack for that turn. This cannot be stacked with other x2 effects. The max attack power you can have is x2 the original damage you do. This can only be used on melee attack dice and not special weapon effects (under the special effect sign). The attack doubled caps at 20 damage (ie: if multiplied x2 I do 24 damage, it rounds to 20) Example: I roll for 12 damage. I choose to double my attack. I do 24 damage that turn. "It is a pleasure!" Simmy agreed, then blinked several times at Nzsyoecsz as she fished for a proper response. She had nothing, and really wasn't sure that she could accurately repeat whatever it was that he'd said, if that was his name. It did appear that something had given him pause, however, which was much easier to address. Her spear met the Kitty, and she shoved both the creature and the thoughts that they were lonely aside again. Both were a nuisance. "Are you okay? I noticed that--" The faint look of worry was gone in an instant, replaced by something between amazement and dying-of-happiness. " Trebor! I never doubted...I mean...how could I...?" Yeah, how could she. God, her reaction was perfect. He tried not to grin too hard as he sped forward, his sword lifted up over its head before it smashed down on the skull of the kitty. He showed no mercy to these things. Plus, the faster they died.. He hopped back after it lashed out at him again, and his fingers toyed with the end of his sword. It looked like he was focusing real hard on that task, but it made no sense that he was grinning so hard at it. "Well." He cleared his throat, and his grin turned sly. "Glad to know you believed in me." Was he blushing? Definitely not. That was just some blood from the monster, despite the fact that only grey and black spewed out of it. Just blood. Nothing else. Watching Trebor (and the others, but mostly Trebor) stirred conflict within Simmy; she was endlessly amazed by the skill and style to the point of certainty that she could never compare, but it made her want to, in hopes that she might amaze them in turn. In spite of the practice she'd been getting in, now was apparently not the time to be amazing. When she struck the Kitty, it did little more than send it it in a slightly different direction. They had a wonderful distraction in their midst.She opted to keep watching him instead of making another immediate attempt to appear incredible. "You're the one who makes me feel like I have a reason to," she pointed out, brows knit as she wondered why she failed to make that obvious. She had begun to bury herself in the depths of her thoughts again when she realized Unpronounceable Friend was addressing them, which earned him a gracious look for derailing what was becoming a complex web of thought. "Which am I..." She trailed off, processing what he'd said again. "Oh! Black! Did you pick Black too? Do you think I really have a chance?" The pride she clearly swelled with seemed indicative that she might have chosen prematurely. "Do you think any of us do?" She knew one particular answer to that, but she could ask anyway. It seemed the redirection from 'thinking' had pushed her entirely into 'questions' again.
