Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder .:Save the Date:.
Start: This Very Moment!!
End: Wednesday, August 21 at 10:30pm PST Ajanta sits comfortably atop a boulder, a pen moving furiously over one of the pages in her antique looking journal. A slight smile causes her features to glow as she does what she loves the most. Surrounded by the beautiful world of Theia and all of the creatures within it, how could she not be happy? Looking up from her scribing she adjusts her glasses and closes the book with a dull ‘thud.’ “Hello! You caught me right in the middle of something!” She giggles. “I was simply writing about all of the beauty in this world.” A look of remembrance flashes across her gentle features. “Oh! That reminds me! I stumbled across two beautiful Kirnoids who are in need of a home!” Motioning the two forward with a delicate click of the tongue she once more looks to you. “Aren’t they lovely? Perhaps you can help me out a little?” Just look at what Moxxiie brought to life!   .:Here is what to do!:.
As you can see, both of the Kirinoids above are quite colorful and with lovely patterns on their pelt. Beautiful is definitely the first word that comes to one's mind upon looking at this lovely girl and boy! But, as we all know, people have a different taste when it comes to beauty.
What I would like for you to do, is write a story from the point of view of one or both of these Kirinoids depicting what they deem as beautiful.
Example:
The female Kirinoid may believe that rocks are beautiful for certain reasons and believe that roses are ugly for others. Explain why this is so. Why are rocks more beautiful than roses? Etc.
It does not even have to be about the world around them, but perhaps an introspective into their inner beings.
Example:
The male Kirinoid may find himself beautiful because he smiles a lot. Or, on the contrary, may not find himself beautiful at all. Explain why this is so.
The above are simply examples, feel free to branch out and do whatever you please! The more creative the better! Let your writing muse run wild and know that I am quite excited to read what all of you write!

The Beautiful Beautiful Rules Rules:

2. QUALITY! NOT QUANTITY! I will not be judging based on length, but substance.
3. You may team up with a partner! Keep in mind though, that if you enter for both by yourself, you may only win one!

Brief personality blurb: He believes in spirits. Not ghostly sickly looking spirits, but balls of color changing lights that can communicate with us. Sometimes he feels he can even see them when he is asleep. He likes to search out these spirits and help them if they need it. For he finds that very few believe, or can even see the spirits, and that they often need help in some way.
He is very kind and gentle, though quirky and maybe some times even a bit odd.

Zac's eyes closed slowly. He felt very at peace at times like these. Though he knew what would come next could mean life or, well, nonexistence for the one he was listening for. His feathers twitched as the wind picked up, hopefully carrying the noise he was seeking.
And there it was. The little tinkling noise of a spirit in need of his help. Noiselessly he took off. Muscles rippling under his skin as he bound towards the sound. He knew he had to remain as quiet as he could as he moved, otherwise he would loose the direction of the spirit. And the last thing he needed was to draw what could be enemy attention to a spirit already in need of help.
Finally he came to the origin of the tinkling sound. And quite understandably in trouble. The spirit was being taken down stream, caught in the viscous layer of water on top. It would have been easier if it were rapids. At least then it would have a chance of being thrown from the water. But with the water moving slightly fast and yet unbreaking, it wouldn't be too long till it was taken under and unable to escape.
Zac took the steep rocky bank as safely as he could. Though he almost twisted an ankle by slipping and almost getting it caught in a bramble bush. Almost there, and he would be able to save the spirit. He waded into the water, shivering as it brushed against his soft white belly.
Finally. He reached the tinkling spirit. Before he could get a word out it panicked, seeing the large creature coming above it. It it wiggled any more it would indeed be swept under. Zac had to hurry before that happened. He scooped his nose under the water and pushed the ball of spirit up into the air.
At first it looked like it would droop back down into the water. But it shoot off into the direction of dry land and disappeared into the brush by some trees. Zac smiled, obviously a new spirit, the poor thing. They were often clumsy and didn't know the way of the land in their new form yet. He shivered again and waded back to shore. He needed to find a large rock he could bask on.
It wasn't long before he found the perfect sun bathing rock. He climbed on it and sprawled out. Drying his feathers in the rays of the sun as he sighed happily. Just before closing his eyes, out of the corner he saw a little ball of colored light in a bush close by. He could tell by experience it was watching him. He smiled and finally closed his eyes. Maybe the little spirit would come out soon and keep him company.
Hopefully before the next sound of tinkling occurred.

It was a warm and quiet day for Kaiga, she didn't mind it being this quiet for the time being as she was focusing on a new idea she had come up with the day before. It was a painting based around a field of flowers after it had rained, with a brightly colored rainbow in the back ground amongst the white puffy clouds.
Stroke after stroke she kept adding on the paint in many layers she saw fit, she wouldn't not put the paintbrush down until she found the painting to be done. She wanted this to be her masterpiece and for others to gaze upon her work and admire its beauty. For she thought she was rather good at was she did and just wanted to show what she was capable of for others to see her for her art and not the rainbow colored hair she has.
Soon the sun began to fade and little by little the rays began to sink behind the trees. Kaiga knew the day was almost up, but she was almost done and had but, a few strokes left. She slowly but, surely put the finishing touches on to the painting and finally placed the paint brush down on the ground and looked over her colorful piece of work. She was amazed at herself for completing something like this and to see it in the glow of the rising moon made it even better for her.
She packed up her things and carefully wrapped up the painting and made her way home, for tomorrow was another day and new ideas were to come.

ladyfirefox89 I can't wait to see what other adventures the spirits will take Zac on! Be sure to tell those little goofballs to stay away from water!
I loved how your story was written, and the character seems like he will be a lot of fun! Those little spirits certainly make me want to cuddle them! Draconian_Peacock She does indeed look like quite the artistic type doesn't she? I think it suits her perfectly!
I will look forward to seeing what other masterpieces she creates!
The way you described her passion for painting in this story was amazing! Not only that but that she has the desire to share her beautiful creations with everyone was a great touch!
Congratulations on winning these two lovelies! I am sure they will have a wonderful home with the both of you!
Feel free to take them to the certing thread as soon as you are able to!
