Day 1:
Much to her surprise, Reinethka found herself staring at the empty spot, where the goddess of paranoia statue should have been.
"Or so it goes."
Startled, she turned to face the goddess, whom looked to be preoccupied with the device in her hand. Had she not appeared busy, she would likely have bombarded her with all the questions on her mind by now. Alas, she would likely have seek out her own answers for now.
Handed the bag, Rein glanced at it curiously before looking back to the goddess. "Go on, open it up. I have a gift for you." Not wishing to offend her, she opened it, only to find nothing. Was it some kind of a joke?
"Oh. A small error. It's okay, I can fix this." Cocking her head to the side, she watched the goddess, watching her in silence. "With your help, I can fix this. Could you fetch me more parts? I stored them in my special labs but it's getting a little cluttered down there. Just look for the chests, they should be inside. I don't need everything it holds, just the heart."
Listening carefully to what she was to ask of her, she stared at the scissors with a dumbfound expression. Retrieving the heart shouldn't be too much trouble, should it not? The most she would have to do was search through all the clutter for it, right? But why the scissors? "That should do the trick. Just the heart. They don't need theirs after all," Wait - what? Who wouldn't need it? "...they didn't quite make it."
Holding her breath, she continued to stare at the scissors, not at all sure what it was that she was getting herself into by taking on this request. Clutching the item in her hand, she cast the goddess a wary glance before making her way towards the thin opening. Entering, she found herself looking upon three gates.
Each had a unique sigil, as well as a single word written upon them, though it was hardly enough to aid her decision on where to head. Was their a certain path she was to take? Or would all lead to the labs that the goddess had spoken of? What was she to do? Considering her options, Rein somehow found herself approaching the third gate. Uncertain if this was the proper path, she hesitantly stepped forward.

Biting at her lower lip, Rein clutched at the bag and scissors in her hands, finding the silence of this path a little too unbearable. The distant, and constant thud was the only thing she could hear, aside from quiet whisper of a voice, calling out a name. Not of her own, but familiar to her.
Hearing the door shut behind her, the items in her grasp were nearly lost as she almost dropped them from sheer fright. "I guess there's no going back now.." Her path was set - now to see if this was a mistake.
Stumbling through the darkness, the figure found herself feeling their way through, blinded by the complete and utter darkness. Colliding with something, Rein let out a cry. More startled than injured, they searched for their 'attacker' by touch. Feeling around it, she finally identified it as a large crate. The only problem now, was she needed to get past it.
Squinting, she tried to make out the object of the shape sticking outside of the crate. Aside from the fact that the shape did not fit, the only other thing she could determine, was that it was bathed in a sickly red. Hesitating again, she decided to move closer, finally realizing the object to be an arm.
Without thought, she made a grab at the arm.
By feeling around it, she was then able to discover something wedged perfectly inside of the crate. On further investigation, she found it to be soft and pliant.. an unusual texture. Reaching even further, it was then she felt it. A soft, yet sturdy beat.
A heartbeat.
This is what she had come for - what the goddess had requested. This was the heart. However, the question as to who this heart belonged to was still a mystery. Was it right for her to take it?
Right or wrong, the darkness of this place was beginning to terrify her. Gripping the scissors in hand, she hesitantly plunged them into the object below.
Although the darkness made the hearts extraction difficult, she was also thankful for not having to see just what it was she was hacking apart. A small blessing, she supposed, though there was not much that could be done for the touch. Digging around, she snipped, and pulled away anything that got in her way, finally pulling the heart free, after having to use both her hands in order to get the job done.
Trying to ignore the grotesque sound of the other contents sliding out to the bottom of the crate, Rein startled as the arm clawed at her.
"Katherine!"
Nearly dropping the heart, she stumbled back, trying to search the darkness for the owner of the voice.
"You see? This is what happens when you go climbing trees! Honestly, I've told you a hundred times, you could get hurt!" Though hazy, the woman looked to be tending to a cut on the girls knee."Oh, you're fine. Its just a small cut."
As fast as the memory came; it faded, forcing her back to the reality she faced.

With the heart now stuffed into the bag given to her, the figure continued on, only to find the ground beneath her feel off from what it was before. Cringing at the strange feeling upon every step, she found herself coming across a dead end, and a sloshing sound from behind. Finding nothing as she turned to look, she sucked in a breath, and nervously continued walking.
Once again, she heard it again, only louder, causing her to pause in her tracks again. Was she being followed?
"Please give it back."
Jumping at the sound of someone's voice, she turned once again. And once again, she saw nothing. For a third time, she continued on, stepping into the water further and further until she could barely keep above it. She had to go back, it was too deep!
"Please give me back my-"
Pushed below the surface, she struggled against their hold. Feeling the sharp pain, still she struggled as she was pushed further and further down. She could feel it - her existence fading.
"I know, I know.. I wish I could, but you know I only have a license for short term foster care. We can still keep in touch, okay?"
..why? Weakly fighting against their hold still, she stared her attacker's blank gaze.
"Give me back my heart."

Not wanting to die here, she clutched at the scissors in her hand, plunging them into her attacker at first chance she got.
Wincing as the shrieked, it at least came as a relief as they disappeared. With her attacker having finally backed off, the water too vanished. Coughing and spitting up the rest of it that she had ingested, it was then she noticed a light source.
The exit?
Not wasting her time, Rein moved for the exit, glancing back for only a second. Enough time to catch a glimpse of - or what she believed to be - the figure who had attacked her glaring back at her, with the scissors in hand.

Day 2:
Jumping at the sound of the goddesses voice breaking silence, she spun around to catch sight of the red goddess staring down at her, with her scythe in hand. Not daring to interrupt, she remained silent, listening carefully to each word she spoke.
"What do you mean..?"
Just what was it she was expecting of her? What was her task to be? Clutching the dagger, she fixed her gaze upon it, before quickly looking back to the goddess for a better explanation. Unfortunately, she received none, aside from the obvious: she was going to have to fight for her existence once again.
Turing away from the goddess, she made her way towards the thin opening, ignoring her lingering gaze as she left.

Waking up, she curled up, rubbing at her arms as a poor attempt to get some warmth back into her body. Why was she cold and.. where was she? When did she fall asleep? Squinting, she sat up. "What is this place..?" Glancing down at what she lay upon, she rubbed at her eyes, in hopes to rid herself of dreariness. Was she.. sitting on a table? "Why is everything so bright..?" Groaning, she rolled off and onto the floor, bracing herself against the table until she was sure she was steady.
Taking a moment, she surveyed her surroundings, before moving for the door. Twisting the knob in her grasp, she heard the click, and quickly pulled the door open. Finding the hallway to be just as bright, she shielded her eyes wit her hand, slowly moving out of the room.
Slam
Startled, she spun around, quickly looking to see what had happened. Surprised to find the door was still open, she was even more surprised to discover that nothing was even there.
Already, this was beginning to feel a little too eerie for her. Sucking in a breath of air, she slowly exhaled and continued on.
Walking at a slow and steady pace, finally she saw the exit within sight. Not wishing to stay in this place any longer, she started for the exit.
Thud
Halting in her tracks, she turned again, finding nothing to be there. Turning back, she heard it again.
Thud
Looking back for a final time, she froze. Someone was watching her.
Thud. Screech. Thud. Screech.
Horrified by the sound of them approaching, she turned to run, not daring to look behind her.

Panicking, she ran away from the figure following, as fast as her feet would allow them to carry her. She didn't know who or what it was that was there, but she knew that something was definitely off.
In her haste, she managed to locate a small piece of paper to her left. Grabbing for it, she looked it over, finding the following: A=0, B=1, C=2.
Was this a code of some sort?

Finding another piece of paper, she quickly looked it over. It was a code! Almost positive she had the proper sequence, she punched the numbers in, relieved to find the door opening for her. Without a second to lose, she bolted through.

Making it outside, she nearly sighed in relief when spotting the trees about. At least this place would buy her a little time with cover, surely. Though she didn't have much time to waste. They were still hot on her tail.
Dashing through the forest of grey trees, she came across the bridge ahead. She had to cross it, she knew that, but.. it was so high..! Looking back, sure enough, they were still there, and gaining on her. Hesitantly, she stepped out onto the bridge, clinging to the sides for dear life. Please, oh please! I don't want to die here!
Peering down below, she instantly regretted it, as she clung to the bridge tighter, giving her pursuer all the time they needed to finally catch up to her.
Shrieking out at their touch, she froze. She couldn't move! She couldn't move at all!
"Don't worry, It only hurts once."
NO!
Unable to react, she heard a loud snip, followed by a quick, sharp pain, and then nothing. As fast as the pain came, it disappeared while the last sight she saw, was them walking off with the scissors and her heart.
