After a month of calmly staying off the streets, and a few days of wandering around her neighborhood fairly uneventfully, Cybele ‘s need to do something had driven her to disregard several pieces of advice. First, she was in a… less classy place than any of her everyday friends, or especially her parents would have approved of, and maybe some of her powered friends as well. She didn’t know. At least a lot of the people around her were too drunk to realize that she was dressed like a terrorist. It also made them easy targets for the Negaverse, it would seem, as there was a reasonable amount of Chaos around. It was hard to tell exactly what it was from, though. But that was the point. She’d tried patrolling and stayed safe and careful for a few days, but now Cybele was back to hunting, and she had ended up outside a bar. Alone. That was the really bad part, the part she sort of regretted, but not enough to call for backup or anything. She told herself it was because alone was how she hunted best, then focused more on the aura she felt, looking around. She couldn’t just leave now that she was here, but she really hoped she didn’t have to go inside. ChibiGingi Sorry this took me so long.

It seemed that Cybele's instincts were spot on, as there was trouble brewing in the bar. When Nyasa Freeman entered the bar, she came in solely for a drink and a good time, and nothing more. Today was to be her off day, because in truth, she felt that she needed to just sit down and reconsider her life. Not just her life in the Negaverse, but life in general. She had done things she wasn't necessarily proud of, gone places that her old self would scoff at, and when there was alcohol involved, she was sure to reach some kind of clarity. All she wanted to do was sit at the bar, down a few beers, and think.
But when the wolf whistles turned into howls, and from there, the howls escalated into taps, she was ready to just leave. Simply get up, pay her tab, and leave. But the moment one of them slapped her on the a**, it was over. He was lucky that she had the set of mind to take herself to the lady's room before she transformed, but the minute she powered up, she had her Amber-crystal embedded spear ready, and she came out swinging.
She didn't care for any innocents that might have gotten in the way, nor did she care that her energy signature would send a 'please attack here' signal out to any surrounding Senshi or Knight. She made a B-Line to the offender, and though her spear only grazed his arm, she grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him, and herself with him, through the bar's window with a forceful thrust. If they didn't feel her dark energy signature, then surely they'd see the sight of a drunk truck driver and herself breaking through the glass and tumbling into the streets.
Captain Mica was too drunk and angry to have noticed the senshi nearby, and she looked only at her target, as he tried to crawl away. She didn't care if he'd recognize her or knew why he was going to die tonight, but she was certain that she wasn't leaving this section of the city without his starseed. stari_maga It's quite alright! c: She's going to be a wee bit tipsy, so that should make her movements slow and easy to dodge.

Things happened fast, starting with another Chaos aura on Cybele's radar, this one much closer. Then, just as she was psyching herself up to step through the door into the dim, loud room, she witnessed what she was pretty sure was a Negaverser throwing a herself and a drunk guy out the window and that wasn't good. She ran quickly, feeling very panicked. Maybe for once she could save somebody, do some good, but only if he somehow lasted the few seconds it took her to run to the window. She rounded the corner and got a clear view of something. There wasn't really time to understand what she was seeing, and there definitely wasn't time to take a deep breath. She saw bits and pieces- a spear, someone being pinned to the ground, it looked like- and she'd already figured out it was a bad situation and she needed to end it. "Let him go!" she screamed, her voice far more high pitched and panicked and generally less commanding than she wanted it to be, but that didn't matter so much because it was followed by a running kick generally aimed at the Captain's midsection. Then, as she finally had a second to pause, the Captain thought sunk in, as well as the spear, and Cybele realized this probably wasn't going to end well.

The alcohol running through her system made it hard for her to focus, and Mica would have never had admitted to anyone if questioned, but she didn't even feel the Senshi until she was literally standing a few feet away from her and had shouted to her. Was she that drunk, or maybe that rusty? Or maybe this one was too weak to pick up on her radar?
No, that last one couldn't be it. Weaklings didn't bark orders at someone that had just thrown themselves and their prey through a window. Mica had to admire the Senshi for either her bravery, her strong sense of duty, or her stupidity, and she was willing to let him go, though the kick to her midsection wasn't quite willing to wait and see if she would oblige.
Mica was forced off of the civilian and had rolled a good few feet before forcing herself back to her feet, and the way she held her spear made it clear that she was using it for support, despite the angered glint in her eyes. When she spoke, she was still breathless from the assault, and she cared little for the man as he tried to scramble to safety. "Congratulations, little Senshi... you're going to take his place now..."
Just after she caught her breath, anyway...

It... It had worked? She had saved someone? Violet eyes traced the man's clumsy movements as he escaped. Cybele smiled slightly to herself as the emotions started to well up, mostly excitement because she had actually succeeded for once. She had actually, finally, saved someone. Of course, the internal celebration quickly stopped as she started focusing on the fact that she had a Negaverser to entertain, probably because she had gotten up and the threats were starting. Her smile turned to a frown, and her emotions quickly darkened as well. In the past she'd ignored threats and ended up regretting it, and though her enemy didn't look very stable at the moment, she was sure of the woman's ability to rip out her soul. If Cybele had still been trying to be a good senshi, maybe she would have tried to talk things out. Maybe she would have succeeded, with the bargaining chip of the starseed she happened to have. Maybe, life saved, duty done, she would have ran. But she'd given up on all that a long time ago, and she hadn't even come here to save. She'd come to destroy. So she'd fight for her life instead. "Maybe," she said, voice slightly bitter, as she stepped forward and threw a fist at the her enemy's face, "But you have to kill me first."

It wasn't often that Mica saw a White Moon Senshi eager for a fight, and while it should have frightened her or in the very least made her suspicious, she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth on this one. Most Senshi would act brave but flee at the first chance they got, especially when they spoked an officer with a real weapon, and it were these Senshi that gave her fellow officers the wrong impression about this war. Not this one, apparently. This one had spunk, and Mica found it admirable.
If she had a better check on her temper and less alcohol running through her, maybe she would have tried her hand at luring her over to their side, but that wasn't her job. Her job was to hunt down Senshi, take their starseeds, and rid this world of their pathetic existence, and liquored up or not, she was going to do her job.
On a normal day she would have had little problem dodging her punch, but alcohol and this Senshi's spunky nature managed to catch Mica off guard, and while she was able to step out of the way, her heel rolled and threatened to take her down. She dropped to one knee and barely caught herself with a hand to the ground before completely falling over, and in her desperation, she swung her spear, the sharp crystal pointed outwards but harmless when she swung her weapon wrong. She swung as though it were more akin to a baseball bat, meaning that any damage it'll do would be nothing more than a smack against the side or the shoulder, and she hoped it'd be enough to at least send the Senshi flying back as she gave an angered spat, "With pleasure, then!"

The blow from the spear itself, painfully smacking Cybele's ribcage and sending her stumbling to the side with a gasp, wasn't what made Cybele pause for half a second. That was the thought that next time it would probabally be the point of it embedded in her chest. She'd come into this fight knowing it probabally wasn't going to end well, but despite her words, it had taken her a few seconds to really accept that her life was on the line, and this time 'fate and destiny' probabally weren't going to save her if things went bad. She also took the opportunity to catch her breath. Strategy... strategy... she took another step back, hoping to give herself one more second to think. Then- an idea, came, maybe not the best, but something. "You don't look happy..." she said as she charged, doing her best to make her voice sound... sarcastic, or strong, or anything besides terrified. A fist was raised like she was about to try to punch the Captain in the face again, but at the last second she changed direction, trying to grab the spear instead. That would help, right? Maybe then she couldn't get stabbed and things would be better? And if she succeeded at grabbing it, she would start pulling in an attempt to get Mica off balance, or maybe even get the spear for herself.

Mica was expecting the punch to the face and even in her drunken stage she sought to avoid it. As strong as she thought herself to be, no one would willingly allow themselves to take a direct hit to the face as the risk of being rendered unconscious, and given how feisty this Senshi was, she wasn't sure she was willing to take that risk. She might have been cleanly knocked out!
And yet, this Senshi remained one step ahead, and while she was trying dodge the blow to the face, she wasn't prepared for her to try to go for her spear. She almost lost her grip on her own weapon, but she just managed to hold on before she could pull it away entirely. Instead of being weaponless, she found herself trapped in a dead lock, and Cybele's little taunt certainly didn't help her mood.
She gave a sneer, allowing this Senshi to see the rarity that was the depth of her anger, as well as a mix of frustration thrown in. She dug her heels in deep, refusing to relinquish her hold on her weapon or give the Senshi an inch. She would rather risk snapping her weapon in half then to allow Cybele to take it from her... "Yes... you're right. I'm not... and when I'm not. Senshi die."
Perhaps she could use her Amber crystal? It had been... so long since she used it. Was it any good? Would she be forced to summon its power? Mica continued to fight for control of her weapon, pushing that thought to the back of her mind as a last ditch effort, for now. Her pride wouldn't allow her to resort to using another's power to defeat an enemy that she could defeat herself.

There were plenty of hints in her expression at her fear and desperation, if one was looking hard enough, but mostly Cybele was returning the scowl with an angry, hopefully equally scathing glare as they tugged at the spear for a few moments. "I already know you're trying to kill me!" she snapped back, her own voice reduced to a growl from breathlessness and anger. She was actually feeling better about the whole situation now that the spear was pointed less at her, though. And she was definitely less panicked than the first time someone had tried to kill her. But still. A lot was flying through Cybele's mind. One thing, the thing she tried to focus on, was that she knew more about tug of war than the rest of the fighting stuff, she quickly realized it wasn’t that simple. The spear point kept coming dangerously close to her body despite her best efforts, and it was clear that letting go would probably end up with her getting stabbed. What to do next was less easy to think about, so after a second of trying to think she just ended up going with her instincts. She did her best to steady her tight grip on the spear. The last thing she wanted was for it to slip out of her hands. Then, she shoved. It wasn’t a halfhearted shove meant for distraction so she could take the weapon for herself. It was followed quickly with few running steps. She wanted Mica off balance, preferably on the ground, preferably soon.

On a normal day, Mica felt that she could have won a battle of wits, but today was different. Not just the alcohol, but just her nerves in general. Something was wrong when she could not put on a mask, and with every word and pull from the Senshi, she found herself growing angrier and angrier. The firm grip she had on her emotions was gone, and the fact that she couldn't even hide it... it should have made her ashamed, but all she could feel was anger.
Some could use their anger as a weapon in and of itself, but for someone like Mica, it only served to work against her, and when Cybele pushed forward, she went tumbling back, just as the Senshi wanted. Her heels gave away and down she went, her backside slamming against the concrete with a loud 'oof' and when the back of her head hit the pavement, she felt her body go numb for a moment but she was not knocked out.
Stars danced in front of her vision and she tried desperately to cling to her weapon, but it was too difficult. Her fingers slipped and her arms fell at her side in a useless heap, and for the first time since she had powered up, Mica felt... helpless. The senshi had her weapon and left her motionless, and her anger had turned into fear, but it was brief. The fear that flashed in her turquoise eyes was brief, but it had been there, and her smile was fragile, as she looked to the green-haired senshi, as she whispered harshly, "...well... you're going to kill me now?"
Part of her refused to believe her, or any senshi nowadays capable. But another part of her was afraid... maybe the others would not be willing, but what if this one was? She couldn't recall being in this situation before, so which was appropriate? What should she do? What could she do, besides wait for the Senshi to act? Or wait for her strength to return? Which... would happen first?

Anything easily could have been different. There could have been a body on the ground instead of the shards of glass marking a struggle. The bitter rage Cybele felt against the Negaverse could have been fresh instead of dulled by a month off the streets. She could have known more about spears, or at least have grabbed it in a better way that could be smoothly turned around instead of awkwardly almost stabbing herself, taking several seconds and giving her time to think. Her magic could have been active, making her slightly more ruthless, or she could have been seriously injured, making her slightly more desperate. Any of those probabally would have been enough to make her plunge the spear forward, but instead, she registered that she was towering over someone helpless, with a Negaverser's weapon in her hand, and she paused. What am I doing? Then the captain talked and she felt disgusted. It wasn't just because she had almost killed, though. It was also because she suddenly couldn't. "No," she answered simply, lowering the spear somewhat and stepping away. After that, she had a few less rushed seconds for her logic to point out how useless she was, how now the Negaverser would just go kill someone else, but her emotions wouldn't let her kill, either. Not now that she was thinking of it in those terms. Underneath the desperation, adrenalin, and act of strength, she was still the same. Absolutely pitiful. "I win," she said as she walked away with the hostage spear, more to remind herself than anything else. She honestly didn't care what Mica thought of her at this point. She forced a smile for the same reason. Victory. Yay...

There was a small part of her that wanted to goad the little senshi on, give her a playful nudge, even if it meant to end her own life. Death at the hands of her own weapon? Death at the hands of a Senshi that had tore her weapon away from her? That would have been ironic, and oddly fitting, for someone that had allowed her emotions and her own stupidity get the best of her. If Buddingtonite were watching, no doubt he'd be tickled to see such a sight.
But the sight of the Senshi sparing her? That was... a pleasant surprise. It shouldn't have been, and yet Mica found herself speechless, but ultimately grateful. After all, this meant that once she sobered up and got her act together, she could find this green-haired senshi and get her revenge.
She said nothing as Cybele walked away, toting her weapon in her hands, and Mica gave a grunt, pulling herself back to her feet and thinking of how to capitalize on such a situation. The nerve of this senshi not only defeating her and taking her weapon as a prize, but turning her back on her... it almost made her want to overcome her wounded state and strike. She could have easily summoned her weapon back to her hands and finish her, but... the moment she sat up, she felt dizzy, and she gave a dismissive groan, before getting to her feet slowly and simply walking away in the opposite direction.
"Enjoy your victory, senshi," Mica called back, knowing that she sounded like a sore loser, though no where near as sore as her back and head were now, or how sore she'd be in the morning. "When I power down, your prize will return to the Negaspace... so, relish it while you can."
It meant being without her spear for a few minutes, but she felt that the senshi had earned this. Next time they met, Mica was determined to leave with a trophy of her own, as she could imagine her starseed fitting quite snuggly in her hand.stari_maga I almost wish you could keep that spear. Epic RP was epic! Consider it a wrap for Mica, and let me know if you ever want to RP again!
