Ayita slowly swims back and forth as once again her thoughts are on her sister and how different they are. She herself being good and her sister being evil. Not that they don't get along. Heck, she loves her sister even if they have different alignments. She just wishes they saw each other more. Ayita stops her swimming and looks up towards the surface. So far no landwalkers have been near for a week or two. Some have interesting coats but even she gets tempted to try a few tricks here and there. Harmless one's of course but still.. it is something her sister would do and hers aren't harmless.

Me’urra huffed quietly while he walked. He was highly annoyed at the continued incompetence Cardinal had and yet the red azrein bested him every time. His muscles whined at him from the smack he had received not more than a few hours ago. Now Me’urra was off to wash his wounds again. Thankfully he wasn’t bleeding this time. He spotted the water ahead and didn’t’ bother to slow his pace. There were few serpents in this part of the river so he was fine with wadding right up to his bruised shoulder. The water was cold and gave him the needed shock to his system to wake up more rather than walking in that annoyed daze he was in.

Ayita is thrown out of her thoughts with a land walker comes right into her stream. How dare the male judging by his well man parts come into her water. She watches from further in the water as he stands there. Oh how she would love to pull a prank on the male. He would be surprised if he was suddenly in the water fully. She decides to rise slowly a few feet away from the male but only so that her head is out of the water. She observes the male silently. She makes sure that she makes no sound. She doesn't want to be caught. She is curious though. Friend or foe? Friendly or not. That is certainly the question.

Sighing contentedly Me’urra dipped his head in the water and shook it around for a moment before pulling it out with a soft smile on his maw. The cool water felt exquisite and he felt much more like himself. Mane partially obscuring his eyes he moved his wounded shoulder and let out a small hiss of pain. It wasn’t really that bad but it was annoying. He decided to vent a bit of his frustration to make something pay later. Maybe he’d hunt down a member of Cardinal’s family and pummel them. That train of thought led him to the son he had who left to find his mother up north. He shook his head to clear that thought but ended up looking north anyway. He thought he saw an azrein head just out of the water. A foal. “It’s too deep for young ones here and there might be serpents get to shore.” He tossed his head and proceeded to ignore the slender head expecting to be obeyed./color]

The stallion dips his head in the water and Ayita wonders if the stallion is mental or something. Wait.... is he wounded? The stallion hisses as he moves his shoulder and she let's out a small breath which makes bubbles. So the stallion is wounded. Wonder what it was for. Either way he hasn't noticed her yet. Good thing... and then he looks her way. Kelp nuggets! She's been spotted. Her eyes narrow with anger. Her! A foal! She is NOT a foal thank you very much! She is a hippocampus! A full grown one at that! How dare he call her a child! "I am NOT a child! How dare you insult me so!" She swims closer and suddenly leans forward bringing her tail up and smacks him square in the face and she sinks in the water and starts swimming upside down. She does a quick roll and rises to the surface again."You land walkers are so stupid! Always thinking everyone is like you! Jerk!"

Having never been assaulted by an overgrown half fish before it really wasn’t something that Me’urra was prepared for. He stood there in shock after the assault for a moment before his eyes narrowed slightly. “And you my dear fishy lady are very quick to attack rather then politely correct me so do tell are all water dwellers so?” He snorted and turned his head heading back to shore the last thing he wanted to do was deal with water attackers. He looked around for others in the water but didn’t see any. That didn’t mean they weren’t there though. “You know this is Sixer land. There are quite a few who would attack you blocking off upper and lower water escapes. Perhaps you should be a bit more cautious in who you attack least it be a more vicious azrein than myself.” He stopped in shallow water that was up to his knees and faced the water dweller again calmly.

Ayita lets out a snort."Oh. Only my sister and I! Lucky you. Wounded and smacked. Must be your lucky day!" Her voice is sickly sweet and smirks. She lifts a brow not believing that they could get her. The water is very deep and many have tried to get her from the water but failed. She is very quick in the water. THe water is her element. She would love seeing them try! "Like they can get me. The water is pretty deep." She shakes her head back and forth."Should have drowned you when I had the chance. You were the one stupid enough to come in the water without any cares. Not looking. It would have been soo easy. My sister does it all the time. You land dwellers are just dumb whenever you are around water."

“Actually it’s a small feat to drop enough rocks in the water to divert it especially given the number of herd members that exist.” He sounded almost bored. “As for your slights you are right I should have been more careful. Wounded for defending family by a loud and boisterous Sixer and smacked for inattentiveness. What a day I’ve had.” He shook his head. “Well I’m certainly not looking forward to drowning but please do go on talking. I really don’t mind the sound of your voice. Perhaps it’s you and your sister who are ‘sirens’ luring other’s to their deaths?” He gave her a small smile. Lowering his head he got it wet before splashing more water to his hurt shoulder. “Keen of you to notice my pain tough. Not many see it unless it’s bleeding around here.” He almost made a joke about that showing her interest in him but thought better of it.

Ayita looks at the land dweller with annoyance. She would not like that at all and her blocking the waterway? Pfft. She doesn't block anything. It is deep enough that she causes no hinderance to the water flow. "You deserved the smack. Calling me a freaking foal. Pfft." She lets out a snort.. Her and her sister sirens? Like that is true. Certainly not."My sister doesn't sing. Well not when I am around. I doubt she is a siren. She is more of the drown you while you aren't looking or paying attention type. If it was her you would already be dead." That is definitely something her sister would do. She moves closer a little bit so part of her neck shows. Her front hooves standing on the streambed."Well, it isn't like other land dwellers come around this part of the stream. And you did sort of favor that side.Just observant....at times..."

“Fair enough. Still a head as slender as yours often belongs to foals not full grown azrein. It’s not a bad thing, simply more graceful than I’m used to seeing. You can see my mistake?” She was more slender than some land azrein he had seen. Perhaps to better slide through the water? “If it was her then I might not have such an enjoyable converstation.” That little bit about her sister was interesting. Perhaps it would be worth looking into further. “If I promise to stay were I am might I ask a favor of you?” He looked at her curiously choosing to lay down in the water where he was so that he was now mid belly deep in the water but still not further in her element. “I’ve never seen an azrein such as you before could you come closer so I could see just what made my smart mouth pay for it’s slight?” He chuckled softly willing to admit his fault.

Ayita splashes the water surface with her tail not exactly liking that her head is being called small even though it is in a flattering word structure."You land dwellers think that my kind aren't real. Our numbers may be small but we exist! Why do you land dwellers always assume everyone is like you?" Shakes her head."Yes... I guess my head is much slender then you land dwellers.. your necks are more thick too." Yes the other wouldn't have a conversation if it was her sister. She tilts her head when the land dweller asks his question...what sort of favor is he proposing? She watches as he lays down in the water. That is definitely something she wasn't quite expecting. Stupid move....but still in a spot where she wouldn't risk going after to drown if she was like her sister. "Depends on the favor." When he asks the favor she sinks in the water. She doesn't quite feel comfortable with that.. She can't seem to think so she does what she always does and sinks in the water and swimming a little bit to clear her head. Should she? What if he makes a sudden move to try catching her tail? No no.. she won't go close.. she will be a distance away... she will let her tail float on top of the water but only go to where her hooves are on the ground... fast escape... She swims to the surface."I will only come as close as I am comfortable with." She slides through the water and places her hooves on the ground as she comes closer. She stops when the tops of her legs are visible and lifts her tail up. Yet only the top of her tail is able to be seen as her blue color blends into the water.

"Well when confronted with only what’s known all your life its easy to fall into the mindset of having things the same. In this case the form of other azrein being similar to mine own.” He looked at his place in the water laying down as he was. “Oh yes because coming too close to me when I’m laying down is clearly dangerous as I’m a brute who runs around beating others into submission on a daily basis.” He snorted contemptuously and nodded to his bruise. “Clearly you see a different image than the one I see.” Still he looked over her tail clearly curious. “.. Is it hard to swim in the currents? And is your tail soft or hard?” His tone was very soft and curiosity shown in his eyes. He looked over his shoulder at the desert land behind him. He wondered how it all must look only having ever seen it from the banks. Turning back he gave her a sad strange smile. “Pity you’re so bound to the water there is a place I would show you that is simply lovely as a way of an apology but there is no way you could swim to it and I’d rather not get fin slapped again for even suggesting carrying you.” He winked. “So I’m afraid all I can do is apologize for my crassness earlier. I am sorry if I’ve insulted you siren.” He didn’t yet have a name for her but that didn’t matter. His curiosity was real as was his pain and his wish to show her that place. He gave away nothing of his other thoughts of her strangeness though his eyes did go back to and stay on her tail. He didn’t attempt to go closer nor did he show any signs of wanting to pull away. It was strange to see such a unique mare so far removed from what he had known all his life.

Yes that is very true. Yet she likes to think that there are those that think of more than one possibility. "You make a valid point." When the stallion speaks again guilt starts to plague at her. Damn it... She doesn't like being guilt tripped.. Yet it is easy to do with her.. She starts to walk towards the stallion."Don't think I am coming closer because you guilt tripped me or something like that. I am doing so because I realize that I blend in with the water and you might not be able to actually be able to satisfy your curiosity about my tail without a closer look." She doesn't want to admit that she can be guilt tripped. Ayita stops walking when she is alongside the land dweller with her tail facing where she was so that he can see her tail. Letting her tail float at the surface she moves her neck so she can watch the stallion.
"Well the only difference is that I see if from a water level vantage point." She tilts her head slightly to the side as she thinks about his questions."Well, no it isn't really that hard to swim in the currents... Against the current is tiresome but once you learn how to maneuver then it isn't that hard. As for the texture of my tail.... I don't actually know. I am not flexible enough to feel it...Perhaps you can tell me the answer to that question?" She lifts her fin and tilts it side to side before resting it on the surface of the water again. Ayita stays still as she watches him look over his shoulder at the desert. Ayita has always been mildly interested in seeing what is on the land. Yet she likes the comfort of the water to much.
What is this place in which the other speaks of? She wonders about it as he apologizes."Your apology is accepted. As you can see I didn't fin slap you for suggesting that. What is this place like? The place in which you speak of? Is it all sandy like the land which surrounds this river...well stream or river whichever you prefer to call this expanse of water." She looks at the land for a few moments silent."Hmmmm... What is your name Land dweller? Is it odd seeing things from such a height?"

This mare clearly wasn’t a master of manipulation. If anything she was a stubborn foolish mare with about as much sense as cardinal. Did she not realize that by saying it with such firm denial she was only admitting to her easily lead guilt? A part of him wanted to laugh at her but he just smiled and nodded like it was expected. His mother Shar would eat this mare alive if she had met her. So he supposed anything he did was a gentle breeze in comparison. Suppose Cardinal had fished her out? That wouldn’t have ended well for the mare. She’d be stomped to death most likely for used that ever so lovely barbed tongue on him. “You do blend in very well.” He made no move to stop or startle her as she got closer. It was beautiful to see her body move in the water. Though if he lived all his life in the water he supposed he would learn to move gracefully as well.
He had the good grace to actually be shocked and look it when she suggested touching her tail. This from the same mare who moments ago didn’t want to be close to him was now going to let him touch her? Still even if it was a trick the most she could do was strike him and from the angle she was at that might be a bit… difficult So he gently reached down with his maw and nuzzled her tail softly. He thought about how to best answer her other questions while he marveled over the flexible but firm membrane that was her tail. “It’s soft but unyielding. I’d almost expect it to part at touching but it doesn’t” He smiled at her. “You may call me Me’urra and we might find it easier talking face to face rather than face to tail siren. I thank you for your patience with me while my curiosity was sated. Now then the land. Mmm How should I put this many areas of it are sandy with plants that have small sharp barbs on them for those who dare to get to close. The flowers they have on them are breathtaking though. There are other parts where there are springs of water surrounded by luscious plants and teaming with life. The day is so hot all you want to do is hide away in the shade, but night ah the night is cool and makes up for the lack of activity in the day. Still the place I was thinking of is neither of those. It’s a cave of sorts there is crack in the wall and water on the floor. It’s a bit hard to get to unless you know the way. You don’t see it from the air because the entrance is tucked away between stone crags that jut out blocking the harshest rays of the sun. The part with water doesn’t really see the light of the sun but to be in it when the sun’s light is on the entrance shining down and in… it’s breathtaking.” Me’urra didn’t need to fake his sound of pleasure at speaking of his cave. It was his home after all. “The other Sixers’ don’t know about it so it’s quite thankfully. I often go there when thinking about my son.” Me’urra looked north and a bit forlorn for the child who left him.

Ayita stays still as he eases his curiosity about her tail. She is curious but she can wait. Yet her mind starts to wander as she looks at the land. It has always been a mystery to her. Yet she never has tried going fully out of the water. She would get stuck! And it would take so much energy to drag herself into the water. Her place is in the water and that is that. She looks over as he starts to talk. "Soft and unyeilding...Hmmm.. that is interesting!" She takes his suggestion and manuvers to where they are talking face to face with her facing the same way as he is but her neck curved to look at him."Me'urra.. that is an odd name. But all the land dwellers that I overhear have such odd names. I guess it is only fair to give you mine. You can call me Ayita." She listens as he speaks of the land. The place in which he describes sounds so nice. She almost wants to go there, but she would never find her way back to this place if she did! "That cave sounds lovely! You really are fond of that place. Your expression softened when you spoke of it."
