Tahigwa gazed over her opponent and grinned. Her hair was like Goldie's hair, only lighter! She was fighting such a pretty looking girl! BONUS! She glanced over the blades that she had been given and wiggled them around, as if she were testing their sturdiness, and faced Shirin.
"After this, can I braid your hair?" She asked, smiling.

Shirin attacks.

Shirin misses.

"Good luck," Shirin added just before the announcer declared the start of the match. She lost no time to charging forward to strike. Getting a head start didn't do much good if your aim was off, though. Pulled off-balance by the unfamiliar weight of the lance, she swung the lance in a wide, powerful arc. The edge of the lance bit the air, veering past Tahigwa by several inches.

Shirin attempts to dodge and retaliate -- and fails.

Shirin leaned hard to the side, trying to get out of the way of Tahigwa's blades, but she didn't go far enough. The blades caught up and struck hard at her side despite her attempt to evade. Dual blades were much too hard to keep track of, she decided. Maybe she'd have to try a different tactic. But what?

Shirin attacks.

Since dodging had worked so well last time, Shirin opted to attack instead while she still had the strength to. She tensed, bracing herself for another blow. But the blow didn't come this time. Shirin winced as a fumble led to a nick from those double blades. "Are you all right?" Coordinating two blades at once couldn't be easy.

She hesitated a beat, wanting to let the other girl recover. Soon enough, though, the momentum of the match was carrying her forward again with a cautious slash of her lance.

Tahigwa counter attacks!

The fact that she had actually sliced HERSELF with her OWN WEAPON was enough to break her focus. She raised her head to reply to Shirin, just as she came barreling forward with her lance, and stiffened as she was cut. s**t! That hurt like hell! However, she hadn't been knocked over, which was good. She stood firm and smiled at Shirin.

"I'm alright, how about you?" She asked rather smugly before running forward and attacking Shirin's legs with her blades.

Shirin counter attacks.

11 + 6 = 17 -> hit
(13 + 6)/4 = 4.75 dmg

Shirin backed up out of the way of Tahigwa's slashing dual blades. She wasn't quick enough to avoid injury altogether, but she was relieved that the blades hadn't struck her with their full force.

"Not great," she admitted truthfully. As she spoke, she jabbed out with her lance. A faint smile lit her face, if briefly, as she added, "But I don't feel like giving up yet. Sorry?"

Shirin's smile returned, widening briefly at the other girl's words. She seemed nice, this opponent of hers.

Watching the blades scythe down toward legs, Shirin completely fell for the feint. The blades slashed at her shoulders, and the weighty lance wobbled in her grip. In a last-ditch attempt, she hefted her weapon, bringing it up for another strike before her strength gave out altogether. She was going to go down fighting, for better or for worse.
