DAY 1 TASK
"The Goddess, wrought with Paranoia, created ====, her last and final project before ====. It was then that she discovered how to replicate ====."
Chaesel stared at the words for a long time. It was so cool to her how she could read each ridge on each letter. The details were so crisp she felt as though she could stare at the statue for hours and continually discern new things.
A voice interrupted. "Or so it goes."
If the statue could entertain her for hours, the goddess could keep her captured for years. Beautiful wires made tenderly from the mist that wove its embrace around the goddess never ceased to move, as though possessing a life of their own- Chaesel followed each line, each blinking bulb as it caressed the goddess, insanely entertained by how many ridges she could find.
As the gift was placed in her hand, Chaesel gave the goddess a grin. A new blessing maybe? One step closer to becoming a goddess, right?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The grin fell immediately, and Chaesel almost felt angry. If this was some kind of joke or a test or something, it was a pretty shitty move on the goddess' part.
Luckily when she looked up the goddess shared a similar look of concerned confusion.
After a moment or two of explanation, Chaesel had been shoved in a tiny dark hole without much option to do otherwise. "Well ... thanks for the present I guess."

For a moment or two, Chaesel just stood at the entrance of the little cave with her hands on her hips. She blew her bangs out of her face with a huff, a little irked by the goddess' request. Why did she have to be the one to go get it? Couldn't she get her own junk herself? Then again, you didn't really argue with a goddess. Chaesel determined that when she became a goddess, she would order people around all the time. That'd be ******** sweet.
Three doors loomed before her. One had a soft pumpkin on it. Chaesel could dig it. A red spiral- that one looked a little angry colored. Still, it would make an awesome tattoo (she'd been learning about those, thanks to her memories). The third was a door that looked a little broken to her. That one was definitely a no go.
Well the pumpkin shape was somewhat soothing. Chaesel shrugged and decided that was as good a door as any to pop through.
---
Chaesel was a bit jarred by the nostalgic noises as she entered the room. She looked around, unsteady with herself, almost uncomfortable with the presence of so many comforting voices, but then it disappeared. Her inner discomfort melted away to her cool, party-loving exterior. She soaked in the praise they were giving her, lapped up the attention she never received.
Soft pumpkins glowed happily within view, their dull orange light giving her a path to walk along. The faces seemed to greet her, and she swore she saw one or two shift and contort as she moved along. If it bothered her, Chaesel didn't show. She even debated kicking one, just to see what would happen.
A large field opened before her, with a singular gravestone.
HERE LIES-
Tiny, wilting yellow flowers crumbled on the stone, and Chaesel felt a sense of melancholy about the place. She was familiar with death, but the concept of a grave was a mystery to her, more conundrums she had yet to unlock from the goddess.
Chaesel sat down, prepared to meditate on the grave.
Thump thump.
That was a weird noise. Chaesel, interested in the new development, leaned closer to the grave.
Thump thump.
There was something under where she was sitting. Getting back on her knees, Chaesel felt around in the dirt. Uncharacteristically, Chaesel respectfully set the yellow flowers aside, with a small, "Excuse me." There it was. It was close now. All she had do to was dig a little.
Working her scissors through the dirt, Chaesel carefully began to extract the heart. Through a combination of the scissors and her own hands gently brushing aside extra dirt, Chaesel found the heart. Not pristine by any means, as it glowed a dull orange, but it was good. It was what the goddesses wanted. As her hands gripped around it, it pulsed, as though responding to her touch, and began to glow a more bright yellow. Had she brought life to it?
The thumps ceased.
Something had changed. She hadn't noticed it before because it had been covered by the flowers earlier.
HERE LIES
With a dark expression on her face, Chaesel put the flowers back in place.
Standing up, she dusted the dirt and grass off her knees, ready to move back to the yellow goddess. She put the name out of her mind. It was no matter.

With each step, it seemed to get harder and harder to walk forward. It sloshed, swished, swayed. It didn't feel as a floor was supposed to feel. Water poured around her feet, Chaesel tried to ignore it. She just had to get to the door.
What door?
"Please give it back."
She turned, but of course, there was nothing but darkness. What the hell was going on here? She'd come from a door. One surrounded with happy pumpkins. Where the hell had her pumpkins gone?!
The water splashed, getting higher and higher around her waist. There was no exit. She was going to die her. She was going to drown in the goddess' name. She didn't want that- no way in hell! There was no way she was going down as a goddess' lap dog. She was her own damn goddess.
The water was nearly up to her neck, and she was panicking. What good was she if this was how she ended?
"Please give me back my-"
Her head fell under the water's surface, shadow mixing with the black liquid. She thrashed around, trying to break free of her attacker.
"Give me back my heart."

Bubbles floated above her. It occurred to her for a moment that that was her air. That had escaped from her lungs, and she was watching it float away.
Fight.
Advice she'd been given when she was little. She needed to fight. If she didn't fight, she'd already lost.
With her last bit of strength, she pulled her arm up, driving the scissors into the figure's legs. The figure recoiled, releasing her for just a moment, but it was enough. She kicked, breaking the surface of the water and taking in a gulp of air. Her attacker came back, and she stabbed again. And again. Again.
---
The water receded, Chaesel looking ten times worse for the where. She was at least grateful to have the water out of her system, but the damp feeling wouldn't go away anytime soon. She just hoped there was somewhere warm nearby. She needed a bit of warmth.
Instead of moving straight back to the goddess, Chaesel sat on the ground for a while. It had always calmed her to sit, regardless of where she was. She especially favored cool places like kitchens or bathrooms, but this would have to do. While she sat there, she contemplated what she'd learned- or what she'd seen- while in the cave (she didn't know if it was a cave, persay, but she was going to call it that for ease of mind).
Firstly, the name.
Secondly, the attacker.
Were they one in the same? Chaesel didn't know the person. The name evoked a strong response in her emotionally, but she didn't know it. She groaned, holding her head in frustration. None of this made sense. She was beginning to not even want to be goddess anymore.
With a loud sigh, she stood up, moving towards the door she'd created.
Just before stepping through the doors, she saw it. Once more, with scissors in hand.
It must have been a figment.

DAY 2 TASK
Once more she found herself peering eye to eye with a goddess. She'd resolved that she could do whatever the ******** she wanted. She didn't want have to obey if she didn't feel like it.
But she had to admit, the goddess had her interests piqued. Talk of facing her fears, eat or be eaten- it sounded adrenaline high and boredom low. By the time she was handed the dagger, Chaesel was rearing to go. She wasn't really doing it to become a goddess. Actually, when she really thought about it, she didn't know why she as doing it. She just didn't want to sit and stay idle. Chaesel longed for excitement.
"Yeah yeah. Whatever you want. Just let me at them," she said impatiently.
"You are ready".
Chel nodded anxiously.
"Go."
She bolted.

It was so bright. Chaesel needed a moment to adjust to the blinding white.
A deep breath. It smelled wrong in this room, in this supposedly sacred place. It smelled like chemicals, like the forge; it smelled wrong. It was too clean, too pristine.
She turned to face the door.
Tick Tick.
Then back.
Thud.
Ah. So that was what she was supposed to fight? Chaesel's face lit up with a smarmy grin. Alright then. She could fight that. The only problem was that when she ran forward to fight, it paced at her at breakneck speed. It caught her off guard. This wasn't supposed to happen.
Chaesel tripped backwards, instead turning to run. She had to escape. She had to get out of here.

There was a piece of paper on the ground. Chaesel fumbled for it, thinking she could use it to fend off the creature.
A C E G
Aceg? ACEG? What the ******** did aceg mean?! Was it a magic spell?
"ACEG," Chaesel screamed at the top of her lungs, screams mixed with heavy breathing. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. "Oh ******** me."

Sight blurred.
"One more round."
"Nope. I already won, fair and square. Give me your oreos." There was a screech, but it wasn't unhappy. The sound was joyful, the sound of a boy being tackled by a blonde girl. "Oreossss."

"Take me to the beach."
"What? It's the middle of the week. I can't I have work."
Both lounged over a couch, controllers in hand. There were unopened cans of lemonade sitting in front of them. Her head was on his shoulder. "Can't you skip it?"
"No?"
