Cyan Gin found himself bowing to the Goddess, a familiar feeling that he simply accepted but did not dwell on. "It would be an honor," he murmured, accepting the box before stepping through it.
Finding three doors on the other side meant decisions. He did not wish to dwell too long, feeling the different vibes from the doors but not wanting to base all of his assumptions on simple feelings. He was after a heart after all, and obtaining a heart might not be all that easy.
The third door called to him. On the door was the shape of a tree, and that in and of itself felt natural to him. It felt like an option he was willing to take, even if it gave off the strongest signs of malcontent. He was not afraid, not of that at least, no matter how unnerving it might be.

Extracting the heart was not what he had expected. Time stretched on but moved quickly at the same time, disjointed. Zoning in and out without accomplishing anything. Zoning out only to come back and discover that he had used the scissors to begin carving a path to his destination. Warmth coated his hands by the time he made the final snips, beginning to fully free the heart he was ready for his task to be over.
Then the figure clawed at his arm, wicked nails digging into his flesh as the strange name was yelled again. "YIN CANG." For a moment his world burst into colors, as if several fragments were being revealed at once. A brilliant show from the eyes of someone small, someone either extremely short or a child, learning to direct his gaze low as a ghoul walked by, watching the footprints passing in front of him. Looking up to see the woman who's heart he was harvesting sweeping past, head held high. "She is the high priestess," someone whispered to him and some nearby children. voice quiet and reverent. They had practice next, the High Priestess watching them being put through their paces from under a shaded pavilion, males fanning her and bringing her fresh beverages. The feeling of his muscles screaming in protest while he continued to push himself though he knew he would be in agony the next day. Anything to impress her.
This, this was who's heart he was harvesting for the goddess. Some high priestess important to the fragments. It was confusing to him, strange guilt washing over him as he took the heart. But this was for the goddess, and whoever this High Priestess was would have to understand.

Heart in hand he began to move toward away, listening to the noises of the area as they began to turn to sloshing. It was strange but he did not focus on it too much. He began to walk through puddles, the water rising until he could no longer ignore it.
Turning back was thwarted by the appearance of the High Priestess again. Hand's closed over his shoulders, pushing him down. holding him down. He tried to move, and then he began to remember.
"I declare the winner of the tournament to be Yin Cang. Let us thank the Great Mantis for the blessings on us. May Yin Cang protect us and serve us for many years to come."
She was important, she was not the type to be killed. Yes, he felt fear, panic actually, toward her, but he should not have taken the heart from her. He would be in trouble for that little move soon enough. Someday he would pay. The Great Mantis would see to that.

As much respect as she deserved he had to serve the goddess. He readied the scissors before quickly lifting them and shoving them at the High Priestess, driving them in until she vanished. He coughed, trying to clear his lungs, chest burning as he gulped in air. As soon as he was ready he made for the exit,
