Description/History
The Yamanaka Clan is famous for it's use of ninjutsu that directly affect and control the mind. Unlike genjutsu, which do the same to create false imagery and trick the target through illusions, the Yamanaka clan's ninjutsu are more direct and invasive. A skilled Yamanaka can use their ninjutsu to seize control of their target's body, or even read the target's mind. For their skills, Yamnaka are often valued as information and interrogation specialists, for their ability to retrieve accurate information directly from the target's mind.

Enhanced Genjutsu: Yamanakas, being masters of the mind arts, are very knowledgeable about the human mind, and how to control it, making them excellent genjutsu users.

Description:
The most simple of Yamanaka jutsu, and the first learned by beginners of the art. This jutsu allows the user to read the intent and emotions of their target. The uses of that ability range from detecting a lie, to predicting an attack before it has begun. This jutsu relies on eye contact, and the user must be able to see into the target's eyes to read anything. The target does not need to make eye contact, but the effect is stronger if they do, allowing the user to read the target's surface thoughts.

Description:
Expanding on the principles of mind touch, the user of this jutsu is able to make a full connection to another's mind. This connection goes well beyond the capabilities of the mental touch technique, allowing the user to share a full telepathic connection to the target. Thoughts, feelings, senses, all can be shared through the link, though specific ones can be suppressed from either end at will.

This technique is made possible through the willing acceptance of the target, and thus can only be used on a willing target, making it primarily useful for communication with allies. To establish the link, the user must complete the seals and then place their hand directly on the target's forehead, and remain there until the link is formed. Forming the link takes a full post, regardless of benefits. Once a link is formed, it can be upheld indefinitely and at any distance, so long as it receives power, which can be drawn from either the user or target, or both, though the target must willingly take on the drain. Upholding a mind link drains one point of chakra per post.

With greater skill and strength of mind, a user is able to link to more minds. Academy students skilled enough to use this jutsu can establish a single link, and one more link can be formed per rank. This number does not vary with any benefits. Only one link can be formed per post, again, regardless of benefits.

Description:
The first step in learning some of the Yamanaka clan's most famous techniques, the Yamanaka must learn to expel their own mind and spirit from their body. For this jutsu, the Yamanaka forms a unique hand sign in which bla bla description. Casting the jutsu, the user expels their mind from their body, through the seal. Now uninhabited, the body falls to the ground. The user finds themselves in a spirit form, invisible and undetectable to anyone unable to see or sense chakra or life force. Much like a ghost, the user would appear as a cold spot to any form of heat vision as well.

In their spirit form, the Yamanaka's senses and abilities are greatly altered. They are unable to affect the world around them in any way. Further, no jutsu can be used while in this form. They are essentially intangible, though they cannot pass through walls and floors at will, being restricted to normal movement. Movement itself feels to the user as if they were trying to walk underwater, making any movements sluggish and difficult. No matter the user's normal speed, they are only able to move up to five feet per post. Likewise, the user's other senses also respond as if underwater. Sounds are muffled and garbled, smells do not seem to exist, and vision seems warped and, oddly, blue. Due to these effects, the jutsu is unreliable as a spying technique.

To end the jutsu and return to their body, the Yamanaka must simply touch their own body. The body, feeling it's proper spirit, will draw them in on it's own. If however the body is killed while they are out of it, they will be unable to return.

Description:
The first technique in which a Yamanaka learns to control a target's mind, they begin with subtly influencing the target with compulsions. A compulsion is an idea, planted in the target's mind by way of certain actions, or, when necessary, eye contact, which causes them to act in a way the user wishes. A compulsion can be created in many ways, from speaking a word, such as kunai to trick the target into using said weapon, to planting an idea directly in the mind through eye contact.

The most effective compulsions are subtle. Actions or ideas so simple that the target can easily believe they were their own. The more overt the compulsion, the more likely it will be noticed and resisted. However a subtle compulsion is almost impossible to notice. This jutsu can only hold a compulsion for one round of posting.

If the target notices the compulsion, they can attempt to resist. Resisting a compulsion is a task of mental strength, using rank as a basis. If the target is of a higher rank than the user, they can easily throw off the compulsion.

This jutsu does not require hand seals or incantation.

(I want a scaled resistance here, but all I can currently think of is a post action reduction, which, unfortunately and the reason I don't like it, makes the effect essentially "Obey or be useless for a post." Not such a great plan there.)

Description:
A more advanced version of Mind Link, Hive Mind focuses on the use of clones. Because clones are created with a mind based on the user's own, it is easy for the user to connect to a large number of them at once in a way similar to the basic mind link. Because of their similar mind, no direct contact is required as in the original. Instead the user is able to link remotely to any of their own clones within five feet of them. Additionally, up to three clones may be linked with a single use of the technique at D ranked cost per connection.

Like the mind link technique, this connection grants the user and targets access to all the senses of the others, but additionally, because they are all essentially the same mind, the link is far stronger. Instead of simply perceiving the other's senses in addition to their own, all of the connected clone's senses meld with those of the user, becoming many bodies controlled by a single mind.

All costs and effects besides those described are the same as the basic Mind Link. This technique cannot be used on anything but the user's own clones. It also cannot be used on genjutsu clones because, being genjutsu, they have no brains to link to.

Planned Jutsu...

Astral Projection: Allows the user to eject their mind from their body, and roam in a "Spirit" form visible only to those who can see/sense chakra. Required for the Yamanaka signature "Mind body switch" jutsu, as well as being a side effect of it and any others like it should they miss their target.

Mind Link: Creates a mental link with a single willing target, through which the user and target can share thoughts, feelings, sights, and whatever else at will.

Compulsion: Plants a thought or desire in the target's mind, as if the target had thought of it themselves. The thought is usually a command of some kind, or suggestion. The more subtle, the more effective as the target is more likely to obey such suggestions if they don't go against their nature. Planting the suggestion for a sword fighter to draw a kunai instead of their katana might work, while getting a weak bodied speed type to try and block an attack instead of dodge is unlikely to work. Works best if the compulsions are built up gradually rather than just flung in at once.

Mind Body Switch: Ummm, yeah. You know what this is.

Mind Body Switch Reversal: An anti-Yamanaka jutsu, for Yamanaka. Odd, I know. This jutsu is used when another Yamanaka tries to use the previous one on you, and allows the user to intercept their jutsu and turn it back on them, seizing control of the aggressor as in the original jutsu.

Mind Walk: Mind scapes are always a big thing in Naruto fan culture, and are fun to play with in any case. This jutsu basically lets the Yamanaka visit another character's mind scape. On a host it'd enter their "Seal" or "Meditation" area. On anyone else, I dunno really. It'd be a physical representation of their mind, probably designed by the target. This one is really just for fun.

Mind Scape: Pairs with the previous jutsu. This one lets the user design their own mind scape however they like. Maybe another jutsu could draw a target into it for a mental battle.

Hive Mind: This is the first one I thought of when I decided I wanted to mess with Yamanaka, and the reason I took it on. This jutsu would allow the user to establish a mind link, as shown earlier in the list, but with multiple targets instead of one. And, rather than being used on other players this time, this one is used on clones. Basically Pein's trick with the six bodies, using clones instead. A clone specialist with this could pull off some frightening combo moves, and I love it for that alone.

Mind Wipe: Erase problematic memories. That's pretty much it, this is the brain soap. Will definitely have some steep requirements on usage.

Memory Transfer: Better version of the Memory Transfer seal Yasashii designed, but as a jutsu. This one allows the Yamanaka to select any of their own memories they like, and insert it directly into a target's mind. They can choose whether to include certain aspects, such as emotion or pain, which is where it's better than the seal, since the seal just dumps in everything all together. The main use of this is quick and silent sharing of information. I can easily see it being used to speed through boring debriefing scenes after a mission, without a time skip, or, since they're good interrogators, to share info obtained from that.

Mind Body Confusion: Another canon jutsu. This is the one that lets you control an opponent's body without leaving your own, or suppressing the target's mind.

Mind Leech: There had to be a jutsu letting the user read the opponent's mind directly without all the hassle of diving right in. This is basically that. It's a mind link without the requirement of the target being willing, basically, or for that matter knowing you're listening in. Obviously that places this at pretty much the top of the ranking in the jutsu list.

Mental TouchL Think it should only be able to read emotions and to some extent, lies. It should state that it requires no handsigns or incantation, as that would defeat the purpose.

Mind Link: Think it should cost the user 1 chakra per connected party, and drain each party by 1 unless they disconnect. Otherwise the jutsu is a bit OP.

Astral Projection: Think limitation on sound should be more specific. As in they cant hear anything clearly enough to make out actual words (except very basic sounds like No) unless standing right next to the speaker. Since you are so slow, the have but to move to ruin your hearing for at least a moment or two.
That way the limitation on sound is actually increased for the most part, but the jutsu still retains some use. I realize it is supposed to be mostly a penalty, and that bit wouldnt actually be ruined too much by this change, as the penalties would still exist when you are not trying to use the jutsu on purpose.

Compulsion: Think you should add examples of appropriate triggers and change catalyst to "appropriate trigger or Eye contact" so more abstract things can be suggested.

Hive Mind: Think cost should start at 2 per post and raise depending on the number of mental connections. Simply because of that very strength you were referring to.

Here are my own additions, first looking at your plans, the current list and my custom yamanaka jutsu from when it was supposed to be medic centered. Very rough though.

Mind Blast: A step between mind body switch and mind link, the user is able to send bursts of information towards another ninja. Must have a direct line of sight to the target. The information can be intercepted if someone steps in front of the target.This can be used to communicate with someone, or even to briefly overwhelm or startle them.

Shintenshin no Jutsu - Mind Body Change Technique: After forming the signature Yamanaka handseal, (creating a triangle target finder with their hands) the Yamanaka is able to project their body towards the target. This projection travels at Genin speed, and only in a straight line, making it less effective the further your target is away. If the target moves, you will be trapped in an Astral Projection at the targets original position.
If you succeed in hitting the target however you gain full control of their body, although they can still see and hear everything you do with it. You can mentally communicate with the target, although you cannot read their mind, nor they yours. Your original body, unoccupied, cannot move or defend itself in any way until you return. Any damage against the posessed body, for the duration of the jutsu, is also dealt against the Yamanaka's own body. This does not work both ways.The posession lasts 1 post. The jutsu can be scaled to your rank (but not above) by adding the appropriate amount of chakra. This adds one post per rank, and the projections speed scales to match. Kai can be used to break free of the jutsu, see Kai for details. (So if you use it at S Jounin level you get an S Jounin speed projection and 3 posts of control)

Mind Body Reversal: A counter to the Mind body change technique, must be cast before the casters "projection" reaches you. By mirroring their handsign you can reflect their jutsu and hitch a ride, effectively reversing the effect of their jutsu and taking over their body. All normal rules for Body change apply, however the power and of the jutsu is determined by the power of the original jutsu regardless of your actual rank. You must pay the normal C rank jutsu cost, as well as a matching cost for the blocked jutsu. (A Chuunin can reflect an S rank jutsu at S rank, but must suffer the heavy cost)

Mind Walk: By entering a meditative state, you are able to enter your own inner mind or "Mind Scape" These are different for everyone and can be modified at will by the creator. A Yamanaka is able to then either invite others into their own mindscape, or ask to enter theirs (This occurs as a sort of mental nudge). It is impossible to force yourself into anothers mind, or another into yours with this jutsu, and either party may break the connection at any time.

In their spirit form, the Yamanaka's senses and abilities are greatly altered. They are unable to affect the world around them in any way. Further, no jutsu can be used while in this form. They are intangible, though they cannot pass through walls and floors at will not fly, effectively restricted to normal movement. Movement itself feels to the user as if they were trying to walk underwater, making any movements sluggish and difficult. No matter the user's normal speed, they are only able to move up to five feet per post. Likewise, the user's other senses also respond as if underwater. Sounds are incoherent unless within two feet of the source, and vision seems warped and, oddly, blue. Due to these effects, the jutsu is unreliable as a spying technique.

Description A far subtler form of the Mind body exchange, the user performs the standard Yamanaka seal and aims accordingly. If they miss they are trapped in an astral projection, but if they hit the target he/she is not fully posessed not does he/she know that they have been posessed. The user gets all access to the targets (non bloodline) senses , but cannot hear their thoughts. This makes it far more powerful for espionage, as you do not have to rely on your acting skills. The user may use Compulsion by simply broadcasting a loud thought as the target cannot distinguish outside thoughts from internal ones, although chakra cost and limitations apply as normal.The jutsu is far more limited in duration (two posts) however, and cannot be extended although it costs no additional chakra per post. Due to their knowledge of the mind, Yamanaka are immune to mind breach after learning how to use it.

Description A very powerful jutsu, when used right, the mind wipe allows the user to permanently erase any chunks of their own memories that they wish. By touching a targets forehead (willing or no) for one full post, they can also erase up to five minutes of someone elses memory.

Catalyst: Touch to target forehead
Description The user is able to select any of their own memories and transfer them a target by the merely touching their forehead. A mostly friendly jutsu, their experiences from the time are given to the target, though they can choose whether or not to share any aspect such as thoughts or emotions. This makes the jutsu very useful for quickly giving information without risking major secrets. By holding the connection with the target (one post of contact to the forehead) the target can also share any memories with the user, though often these are less polished and coherent.

Description: probably need to modify. Removing the fame, since no clan/bloodline is famous yet. Also slightly reducing the scope that it seems to cover, since this is the really early days. Also wish to add some detail about the general clan philosophy (which Rin of course denies)

General: Minor edits to desctiptions. All jutsu changed to genjutsu for obvious reasons. However it should be noted the clan (by necessity) exceeds normal limitations on the senses that can be affected.

Mental Touch: minor rewrite and added a limited duration. Removed need for handseals. That way it would be

Mind Link: Modified the cost and rearranged desctription a bit. Made the cost apply to both target and user to make it easier to cancel as well as more costly without being unusable.

Astral Projection: Modified description to better fit with the advanced forms. Modified sound properties. Added a time limit to avoid ruining a character by making them a dozen posts from their body or someone taking the body. One hour should be plenty time for the problem half would apply. Though i am considering reducing it to a half hour. Made "failed jutsu" a catalyst though it may nor be necessary since the matching jutsu already list it.

Compulsion: Mostly rewording, reordered some of the original stuff and added better examples of use (both compulsions and triggers). Most notably I added power boosts with rank difference, though rewording may be necessary to express that the limits are bent not broken.

Hive Mind: Added larger cost (due to rinnengan effect) and shortened description.

Okay, made it to "General, and had to stop. No. Just, no. I made them ninjutsu intentionally. None of the ones I suggested or made, excluding Compulsion, have any genjutsu leaning whatsoever. Genjutsu are illusions performed through the control of the mind. These jutsu have none of the traits that make a genjutsu what it is. They are ninjutsu which operate within the mind. They have real physical effects, where genjutsu are imaginations.

Again, genjutsu are illusions that manipulate the mind. Most Yamanaka jutsu instead use the mind, they don't manipulate it.

Mental: I still prefer that it detects intent, as that was the original purpose of it, but I suppose it still works.

Link: Prefer my version. Yours forces both to lose chakra constantly, and doubles the cost on the Yamanaka. This jutsu is intended to be easily upheld for long periods of time, and held primarily by whoever is best suited to powering it. If you have a team of a medical Yamanaka, and a clanless Ninjutsu spec, you want the Yamanaka holding the link up so the ninjutsu spec is capable of casting all their jutsu without worrying about chakra deprivation because of the link. And you certainly don't want the Yamanaka completely drained either, because then they won't be able to heal the nin spec when he comes back in from the fight. You've effectively tripled the cost of the jutsu, which makes it less a convenient link, and more a liability.

Astral: This jutsu is the perfect one to emphasize that this is not genjutsu. Genjutsu have effects which are, above all else, fake. Genjutsu cannot eject a soul from a body, as this just clearly does. Further, you've listed affected senses for this jutsu. Even if it were possible as genjutsu, there would be no senses affected. (Hence another reason it's not genjutsu.) The jutsu makes the character unable to affect the world, but also unable to be effected. They cannot be seen nor heard, so who's senses are supposedly being manipulated?

Besides the problems of trying to claim it as genjutsu, this one is still mostly good. My only issue is the time limit. I can't argue that it's not a good idea as the basis of the body being moved is a strong one. However as I'm said many times before, trying to use actual time in RP is impossible. A post count should be used, or nothing. Honestly I'd be more inclined to set it by range and not allow the character to be more than X distance from their body. That way if the body is moved, they go with it.

Compulsion: You mention hand seals twice... Rather than the bridge example, I like the explanation of it being unable to force them to do something they would normally never do, such as commit suicide, though it could be used to suggest or enhance depression. Also not sure how I feel about the last bit, making it harder to resist higher ranks. That just seems like it could end badly with the typical "I'm stronger than you so it's not godmodding if I do whatever I want." effect, which we HAVE run into in the past.

Hive Mind: Much prefer my description. No offense, but yourse seems mangled and wonky. Note: Still not genjutsu, but even if it was, why is the catalyst clone creation? Neither yours nor mine link to the clones upon creation.

Blast: This one probably could be genjutsu, since it's purely information transferral. Notes: Should this work with only actual information, essentially resulting in the Yamanaka sharing actual info with the enemy, or can it be used with fabricated information as well? If it's based upon Mind Link, it should require that as a prerequisite.

Shintenshin: Prerequisites should include Mind Link. The last sentence feels out of place, since it modifies one of the first. Rather than "If the target moves", should use "If the projectile misses". The former implies that the target could make any sort of motion and automatically avoid the attack, even stepping along the trajectory of the jutsu. For the stopping point, I'd use the first solid object you hit, and include a max range in case of open fields.

As mentioned already, damage should be transferred to the spirit rather than the body. Transferring to the body makes no sense, but transferring to the spirit can be just as effective. (For those who don't understand, Sandaime cut off the arms of Orochimaru's spirit.)

I don't like the duration. It makes little sense, and makes the jutsu quite literally useless. What can you really do in one post without basically godmodding by making your post cover a ridiculously large length of time? A longer duration, or better yet, an overpowering feature, would be far more effective.

Back on the last sentence again, I don't see anything in this jutsu that could be scaled other than the projectile speed. I suppose you mention the posts, but again, I don't like duration on this one.

Breach: Makes little sense to deny bloodline senses. If the target is using a doujutsu, the hosted individual wouldn't keep seeing normally, because the host doesn't see normally. Likewise if the host had super smelling powers, the hosted wouldn't smell normally either. If you're borrowing senses, you see and feel exactly what the target does, nothing more nor less.

Saying that you can't hear each other's thoughts, and then adding the ability to use compulsion via thinking is... Odd. Immunity is odd too. I'd prefer a jutsu meant to operate against all mind jutsu rather than automatically becoming able to resist ones you know how to use.

Reversal: Might be more fun to make them swap bodies. Though, that could be done via using the original to make your own projection. I have wonky feelings on this one right now but I can't seem to figure out why. Might come back to it. Should be at least one rank higher than Shintenshin.

Wipe: Already discussed some. This jutsu should require the use of another jutsu to draw out the memory before wiping it when used offensively. Not sure why you'd want to erase your own, except of course, for brain bleach. Should be at least B rank, if not A. You are wiping memories.

Transfer: My only issue here, as mentioned already, is that I feel taking memories from others should require a different jutsu. Might want to require a limit on volume transferred per post though. I mean, giving away your entire life story in a post that covers thirty seconds could be a bit much. Should be at least C rank.

I can see not making them genjutsu, although I think they should follow similar rules. We would at least need a fair way to break posession which doesnt completely ruin the (likely) non-combat Yamanaka. Admittedly the posession jutsu are indeed the least like genjutsu. I think using gen resist somehow would be a good solution to breaking it though since that should match up with willpower and mental strength.

Mental: meh, I think intent should need to be translated from the emotions.

Link: Im on the fence on limiting it that much, since it seems really powerful. A third opinion might be nice.

Astral: admitted above on that offense. the listed senses were those available to the user, more like a self inflicted genjutsu (in fact most are that way). How do you feel about the actual jutsu part? post count is fair enough i suppose, i see your point there. if it takes more than 4 posts then frankly they should be returned automatically. However limiting the jutsu to 20 feet also limits all the others, and thats a REALLY close distance for a posession to be viable. Certainly for the Mind breach.

Compulsion: my mistake. Yea i think there should be some additonal power with rank but its difficult to write that so it doesnt seem so strong... maybe a sentence that it only makes them more tempted to make small breaks from character, but completely breaking character still doesnt work?

Hive Mind: you didnt make a description which would work as a jutsu. you simply explained the idea. Clone creation bit was an artifact from a previous edit which i removed. It should not exist.

Mind Blast: Its more like you can say something to someone rather than send images etc. might change that. but the blast would basically be shouting REALLY loud. prerequisite is valid. Dont think it would be more genjutsu than the others, though it would fit, simply because its basically a one way mind link for an instant.

Shintenshin: that edit works better i agree.first solid object? dont get that though. I mean you shouldnt be able to fire through walls, but if someone throws a kunai in your path suddenly you are caught in astral? (or posessing said kunai somehow?) that breaks the jutsu. Considering the further away the further you have to go to even reach the target, and considering astral projection is worse the larger the distance (up to allowing 4? posts where you are useless) dont think a range limit is necessary. I could add a minor cautionary note that larger distances are far more dangerous. That was why i put the text in in bold, i was expecting to make an edit. It is a bit hard to describe though, and it shouldnt be completely permanent/unfixable (like orochimaru should have been). the duration of one post was only supposed to be for an academy ranked user, though it actually applies to a Genin the way it is written. The higher your rank the longer it lasts. However adding an extra post or two would be fair. Think a duration AND overpowering feature should be necessary. posessing a poor academy student permanently because he cant fight back is just not acceptable.
How would your ability to sustain the jutsu not be related to your skill? Mind giving me what you would prefer for the duration/limitation?

Breach: just seems odd to allow them. at least not the chakra sensor stuff. Compulsion via thinking is more like putting a thought "outside" their actual mind, basically you are talking to them but they cant tell its you (if done right). It just seems odd for a Yamanaka to not notice their mind (which they have to know intimately) is occupied. However i do see how this could prove an issue.

Reversal: yea it seems a bit off... might just not keep it at all.

Wipe: already discussed.

Transfer: already discussed, just think of that as the first part only. How would you put a limit on how much is transferred? really? and not sure why it should be C rank to give others memories since its essentially a primitive mind link.

  • Chose Hikaro's Mental Touch.
  • Edited my Mind Link, changing the cost to only drain from the user.
  • Edited Hikaro's Astral Projection. Slight range change, since it's not intended to actually launch you, just eject you. And an improved time limit.
  • Used most recent Compulsion. No changes but spellcheck.
  • Edited my Hive Mind. New, slightly lower cost, different effect description, and removed a bit of redundancy.
  • Edited Mind Blast. Improved wording, made ninjutsu, and added projectile. Considered making genjutsu version just to have that option, but as an in between, it seems beeter to be ninjutsu anyways. Also genjutsu don't make projectiles. - Then re-edited to make it not an in between, cause it's not really.
  • Cleaned up some wording and vagueness in Shintenshin. Added range limit and being stopped by solid objects. Added spirit damage instead of physical, as well as an explanation of it. Still don't like the post limit, but as I can't think of a better limitation, simply raised it to two posts.
  • Improved a bit of wording in Breach. Removed the line about bloodline senses, for previously discussed reasons. Removed automatic compulsion, but left the ability. Removed automatic immunity, also for previously discussed reasons.
  • Left out Reversal. Still feel weird about it.
  • Completely rewrote Mind Wipe. Same concept, but it was easier to expand by rewriting it entirely than working in the old wording. Raised to B rank.
  • Very slight grammar edits to Memory Transfer. Removed taking memories, as I feel there should be a second jutsu for that. Raised rank to C. Added volume limit.

The Yamanaka Clan is famous for it's use of ninjutsu that directly affect and control the mind. Likewise, the connection itself can be broken at any time by either party.

To establish the link, the user must complete the seals and then place their hand directly on the target's forehead, and remain there until the link is formed. Forming the link takes a full post, regardless of benefits. Once a link is formed, it can be upheld indefinitely and at any distance, so long as it receives power. With greater skill and strength of mind, a user is able to link to more minds. Academy students skilled enough to use this jutsu can establish a single link, and one more link can be formed per rank. The first step in learning some of the Yamanaka clan's most famous techniques, the Yamanaka must learn to expel their own mind and spirit from their body. For this jutsu, the Yamanaka forms a unique hand sign in which they hold their hands in front of them, creating a viewpoint. The user then ejects their mind from their body, Launching through their seal in the direction which they aimed. Uninhabited, the body falls to the ground. The user finds themselves in a spirit form a short distance away in the direction they targeted, invisible and undetectable to anyone unable to see or sense chakra.

In their spirit form, the Yamanaka's senses and abilities are greatly altered. They are unable to affect the world around them in any way. Further, no jutsu can be used while in this form. They are intangible, though they cannot pass through walls and floors at will nor fly, effectively being restricted to normal movement. Movement itself feels to the user as if they were trying to walk underwater, making any movements sluggish and difficult. No matter the user's normal speed, they are only able to move up to five feet per post. Likewise, the user's other senses also respond as if underwater. Sounds are incoherent unless within two feet of the source, and vision seems warped and, oddly, blue. Due to these effects, the jutsu is unreliable as a spying technique.

A more advanced version of Mind Link, Hive Mind focuses on the use of clones. Because clones are created with a mind based on the user's own, it is easy for the user to connect to a large number of them at once in a way similar to the basic mind link. Because of their similar mind, no direct contact is required as in the original. Instead the user is able to link remotely to any of their own clones. Up to three clones may be linked with a single use of the technique at D ranked cost per connection.

Clones connected via this link not only share all of the user and other clone's senses, they tap fully into the mind, and are able to read and predict the user's wishes and intent, thus being able to seamlessly perform the user's wishes and execute combination tactics, all without any signals or orders being given.

Each connection costs one point of chakra every other post. This technique cannot be used on anything but the user's own clones. It also cannot be used on genjutsu clones because, being genjutsu, they have no brains to link to.

Description:
After forming the signature Yamanaka handseal and targeting another living creature, the user ejects their mind from their body, launching in the direction which they aimed. Uninhabited, the body falls to the ground. The user's mind, moving as an invisible projectile travels at Genin speed, and only in a straight line, making it less effective the further your target is away. If the jutsu misses, you will be trapped in an Astral Projection at the first solid object you hit, or the range limit.

If you succeed in hitting the target however you gain full control of their body, although they can still see and hear everything you do with it. You can mentally communicate with the target, although you cannot read their mind, nor they yours. Any damage against the possessed body, for the duration of the jutsu, is also dealt against the Yamanaka's spirit. Damage to the spirit does not show visibly, but manifests as phantom pains in the case of wounds, or inability to use limbs should a limb have been removed. Decapitation would result in the Yamanaka being paralyzed. This does not work both ways, meaning the Yamanaka's own body is in constant danger so long as this technique is in use. The possession lasts two posts.

The jutsu can be scaled up to your own rank by adding the appropriate amount of chakra. For every rank boost you get one extra post of possession, and the projectile's speed is raised by one rank.

This makes the jutsu very useful for quickly sharing information without risking major secrets. Can transfer up to five posts of memory per use of the jutsu.

Mind Wipe allows the Yamanaka to permanently erase up to five posts worth of their own memory per use of the jutsu. To do so, the user must place their hand on the target's forehead. The jutsu can then remove the same five posts worth of memories, focusing on whatever memory the target is thinking of at the time. This is most useful when combined with compulsions or mind link to guide the target's thoughts to the correct memories. Alternatively, it can be used to simply erase the last five posts from the target's memory. Jutsu requires a full post of concentration in all methods.

Description:
A far subtler form of the Mind body change, the user performs the standard Yamanaka seal and aims accordingly. If they miss they are trapped in an astral projection, but if they hit the target they are not fully possessed, nor do they know that they have been possessed. The user gets all access to the target's senses, but cannot hear their thoughts. This makes it far more powerful for espionage, as you do not have to rely on your acting skills. The user may use Compulsion directly from within the mind, following all the normal costs and limitations of that jutsu. The jutsu is far more limited in duration than Shintenshin however, lasting only the base two posts, and cannot be extended.

A more advanced version of Mind Link, Hive Mind focuses on the use of clones. Because clones are created with a mind based on the user's own, it is easy for the user to connect to a large number of them at once in a way similar to the basic mind link. Because of their similar mind, no direct contact is required as in the original. Instead the user is able to link remotely to any of their own clones. Up to three clones may be linked with a single use of the technique at D ranked cost per connection.

Clones connected via this link not only share all of the user and other clone's senses, they tap fully into the mind, and are able to read and predict the user's wishes and intent, thus being able to seamlessly perform the user's wishes and execute combination tactics, all without any signals or orders being given.

Each connection costs one point of chakra every other post. This technique cannot be used on anything but the user's own clones. It also cannot be used on genjutsu clones because, being genjutsu, they have no brains to link to.

Shintenshin [Mind Body Change]

Description:
After forming the signature Yamanaka handseal and targeting another living creature, the user ejects their mind from their body, launching in the direction which they aimed. Uninhabited, the body falls to the ground. The user's mind moves as an invisible projectile traveling at Genin speed, but only in a straight line, making it less effective the further your target is away. If the jutsu misses, you will be trapped in an Astral Projection at the first solid object you hit, or the range limit.

If you succeed in hitting the target however you gain full control of their body, although they can still see and hear everything you do with it. You can mentally communicate with the target, although you cannot read their mind, nor they yours. Any damage against the possessed body, for the duration of the jutsu, is also dealt against the Yamanaka's spirit. Damage to the spirit does not show visibly, but manifests as phantom pains in the case of wounds, or inability to use limbs should a limb have been removed. Decapitation would result in the Yamanaka being paralyzed. This does not work both ways, meaning the Yamanaka's own body is in constant danger so long as this technique is in use. The possession lasts two posts.

The jutsu can be scaled up to your own rank by adding the appropriate amount of chakra. For every rank boost you get one extra post of possession, and the projectile's speed is raised by one rank.

Memori Tenso [Memory Transfer]

Description:
The user is able to select any of their own memories and transfer them to a target by merely touching their forehead. A mostly friendly jutsu, their experiences from the time are given to the target, though they can choose whether or not to share some aspects such as thoughts or emotions. This makes the jutsu very useful for quickly sharing information without risking major secrets. Can transfer up to five posts of memory per use of the jutsu.

Nentou Nugui [Mind Wipe]

Description:
Mind Wipe allows the Yamanaka to permanently erase up to five posts worth of their own memory per use of the jutsu. This makes it useful for removing unwanted memories, be it to defeat interrogation, or to erase trauma. The jutsu can also be used offensively on another target. To do so, the user must place their hand on the target's forehead. The jutsu can then remove the same five posts worth of memories, focusing on whatever memory the target is thinking of at the time. This is most useful when combined with compulsions or mind link to guide the target's thoughts to the correct memories. Alternatively, it can be used to simply erase the last five posts from the target's memory. Jutsu requires a full post of concentration in all methods.

Description:
A far subtler form of the Mind body change, the user performs the standard Yamanaka seal and aims accordingly. If they miss they are trapped in an astral projection, but if they hit the target they are not fully possessed, nor do they know that they have been possessed. The user gets all access to the target's senses, but cannot hear their thoughts. This makes it far more powerful for espionage, as you do not have to rely on your acting skills. The user may use Compulsion directly from within the mind, following all the normal costs and limitations of that jutsu. The jutsu is far more limited in duration than Shintenshin however, lasting only the base two posts, and cannot be extended.
