"Caelia, before you go charging off I want a word." Cosine called out once they had returned to their rooms. She didn't really enjoy telling her children off but she was a strong believer in manners and disapline and it was important for them to know when they had done wrong.

Caelia was young, but she certainly was not stupid. The little goddess was quite aware that she was in trouble once she heard her mother's words. She would pause in the door, turning when her mother called for it. There was something different in her expression that had not really been here before - restrain, perhaps.

"What is it, mom ?" She knew better than to think she could escape this. Augury would turn fully and enter the room again.

Cosine watched her daughter as she came over to her, noticing the look on her face, it was different, grown up perhaps. That thought caused a flutter of panic in the goddess, not something she was entirely used to. She didn't want her children to grow up as Kios had.

The goddess would take a deep breath to compose herself and take a seat. She gestured for her daughter to do the same.
"Where did you hear about your father not being able to fly in the Underworld?"

Caelia would hop on the chair and sit as well. She seemed to ponder the question for a moment, or at least how to answer to it. She knew very well that there was no pretending she hadn't at this point. Nath had said too much, but she couldn't blame him. She hadn't told him it was a secret, after all.

"A few nights ago. A bad dream woke me up, and I went to the kitchen to get some milk. I heard you and dad talking on the way back to my room. I don't think I heard everything, but I heard that."

She paused for a moment. "I know what I did wasn't okay." She would admit. Privacy was an important thing after all. "But im not sorry that I heard. And im not sorry that I asked Nath to do that. Im only sorry that it hurt him. I wouldn't have let him do it if he told me that." Which probably was why he hadn't, really.

"If he won't help dad, then I will. Even if I hadn't heard, I already knew he wasn't happy. This just told me why. I heard him tell you he thought we didn't like him and I knew I had to do something."

This was probably the first time Caelia had not tried to bullshit her way out of what could probably be a major grounding. It was like something in her changed that night, and she could not explain it. Like pieces that were already there fell in place.

Cosine studied her daughter, half wondering if it was indeed her daughter this young lady who was acting so grown up and thoughtful.
"Well it was wrong to listen to a private conversation." She replied, though she smiled. "Now this time you helped your father by telling Nath, I will accept that, it was a good thing, and I know you are eager to help your father but there are reasons we don't tell you three these things."

It made Cosine sad to hear that Caelia had heard what she had.
"He doesn't think that, he knows we all love him." She looked down at the floor and sighed a little. "He just wishes that he could be with us more, I told him we're fine but he worries too much."

"I knew he wasn't happy. I knew it but it was like I hadn't... really realized it." Caelia was slowly realizing that the world was not always as she knew it, and that things were not always as they seemed.

People could smile even if, deep inside, they were hurting. It was not something that had occurred to her before that night.

"So we find a way to make him stop worrying ?" She would ask. Clearly that was the way to go, right ? "Or a least worry less ?"

Cosine gave a nod to her daughter's first statement.
"Yes, we put on a brave face to protect those we love, though often it is not the best thing to do." She wished her children were not so intuitive, though, they were gods, they were not children in the mortal sense.

"Well there are not many ways we can help him, other than being here for him when he needs us and being patient. Reassurance." Which she had given him in spades. "Why don't you and your brother and sister do something nice for him before he goes? That would cheer him up I am sure."

Oh, if her poor mother truly knew what they were up to ! "We're working on something." This one part of her plan she could divulge, really. "Isi came up with the idea of something with bone, but im not sure where to look for that."

It seemed the best thing. She liked the idea of something their dad could be able to bring with him no matter where he ended up going.

"Oh" Cosine perked up a little at that, a good idea, Ankou would love anything that they made for him, she was sure of that. It would cheer him up a bit and be something to remind him that his family were thinking of him.
"Well now, perhaps we can find some bits in his work room. We could get some beads from the market too for a bit of colour?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 16, 2013 7:29 pm

"Yes, we should get it in our colors !" Which was simple enough. Green for her mom, blue for Isidore, pink for her, and dark purple for Kyrie. "And maybe little strips of fabrics too. I saw someone weave beads on fabric once and it was really pretty."<

She leaned against the table then, expression thoughtful. "I was thinking like... a bracelet so that he can see it all the time."

"I think that is a wonderful idea Caelia, he'll really like that." She was getting a bit carried away and forgetting completely that there should be a punishment of some kind. She was far too eager to see her family in good spirits. Then again ... the young goddess did need to learn that what she did was wrong.
"You can get some beads when you are helping Zeta and Zero with the shopping. Seeing as you are going to be doing chores for them all week." Was that a punishment? "You can help Kleo in my archive too, she has a lot of books that need re-organising."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 17, 2013 11:21 am

...Chores ?

... re-organizing books ?!?

UGGGGHHHHHHHH.

Yes, most books and Caelia did not get along. The young goddess would frown, but she knew better than to try and argue it at this point. Arguing would only make it worse. "Okay."

A whole week of this. Ugh ugh ugh.

Cosine breathed in, she really didn't have the energy to lay down the law properly. She was tired and worn.
"You need to know that what you did was wrong Caelia. I would be a bad mother if I didn't make you realise that. You go sneaking around and one day it will come back and bite you, I don't want that. I know I always seem like the bad guy but I do it because I love you all and I don't want you hurt."

Caelia would pause in her mental grumbling. Why did her mom look so tired all of sudden ?

...She hadn't really noticed that before, either.

"You're not a bad person, mom." She never had been. She did get annoyed, of course, but she had learned that every action had consequences. Sometimes, though, Caelia felt that putting up with the consequences was worth it. This was one of those times.

She didn't have to like it, but she'd do it.

Cosine smiled and put an arm around her daughter's shoulders.
"I know I'm not, I just get to be the disciplinarian." She squeezed her gently and looked up at the blue sky through the glass ceiling. "Would you like to go for a walk in the gardens with me? I'm getting cabin fever."
