It had been what seemed like forever since she last did anything magical girl related. And in her mind, who could blame her? Her grades needed some fine-tuning from Fs to Bs, her older brothers were stricter with her than ever, the mirror wraiths were going nuts, the Negaversers were splitting with the Dark Moon Court and her romantic involvement with one of them made that even more confusing. And.. well.. she wasn't exactly sure where she was on the whole Richter scale of the Dark Mirror Court family. Rather than confronting her worries and problems head-on, she decided it best if she just hid back in her civilian life and tried to forget all about magical girls. It made her a little stir crazy. So on this night, some months after she last powered up, she found herself as Super Sailor Aurora on the roof of some high rise office building. People were very hard to see down below, and there weren't many people to target to begin with. Not that it mattered. She couldn't control her wraiths well anyway. So what could she do, exactly? Get attacked and beaten to near death by some random high level white mooner? Attract a dark mooner who'd demand to know where she'd been the past few months? Daydream about herself and Mariposite or some other couple? That made the stir crazy a little worse. She fidgeted as she sat on the edge of the roof, her legs dangling. Just what could she do? If anything...

Medea was tired--tired of patrols, tired of fighting, tired of surprise Nega attacks. She felt so tired, in fact, that she thought, Okay, we're paying attention to our feelings today. If something feels wrong, then it's not that you're hungry, and it's not that you're tired, it's because something is actually WRONG. She sighed. How exhausting these scuffles were! If only she could find someone who understood...
She felt an...off feeling from the rooftop next to hers. Fulfill your duty, she thought, like a wheel in an assembly line. Just turn and turn, unaware of what you're doing... She frowned, disapproving of her melancholy, and leapt onto the next rooftop. She wanted to win this fight, sure but was it really worth it?
The last one really left her on edge.
Like that girl dressed in black.
Literally on the edge.
Of a rooftop.
"HEY," she cried. "Why are you sitting there? Are you going to jump? Jumping is bad."
She couldn't shake that strange feeling. Something about the girl felt out of place, like a spoon in a fork drawer, or roses in a cornfield. "Are you a Senshi?"

And so like it was so often with Aurora, she never felt the Order aura-thing until way too late. The voice startled her. It startled her so much that she just about pitched forward and over the high-raise. Aurora squeaked as she wrenched her body back, hoping and praying to whatever magical gods out there that she wouldn't become a dark mirror pancake on the ground below. Luckily it worked. Too bad it hurt. She fell backward with a sob as the pain shot through her neck and back. Nooooot a very good first day back. "Uuuuuuuugh." She let out a looong moan before turning her eyes to face just who was about to kill her. "Oh, hi! Uhm, if you're gonna attack me please wait a minute cuz ow I'm outta shape pretty bad. You're pretty cute. I like your fuku. And yah, I'm a senshi."

"Are you sure?" Medea asked, baffled that her super-amazing-Senshi-detection rays could betray her. Maybe she wasn't as magical as thought. "Because I feel wonky and I only get this way around youma and Negadudes."
"Are you hurt?" she asked. "If you're hurt I can get you an ice pack. Even if you're evil, and thank you! I like yours too, and you are button-level cute. That's the highest on the cute scale. Right above puppies and magic tricks--except for the ones when they make people disappear because those are just scary."
"Also I'm glad you didn't die because then I wouldn't be able to save you." She gave a huuuuge frown.
Who was this girl?
"My name's Medea!" She smiled. "Let me be your friend! You're really funny."

The dark senshi sat up and shook her head to get the cobwebs out. Ooooog, that was gonna hurt in the morning, for sure. As the girl chattered away, Aurora took the time to stand and smooth out the wrinkles in her fuku. Really. Just how do fukus actually GET wrinkles? Was that even possible. "Ahahaaha, thanks for the compliments~ And I'm pretty sure that I'm a senshi. Just not really quite as Orderly and white shiny as you are." She leaned forward and squinted to get a better look at this girl. Medea. By then, it had just registered what Medea had said: "Let me be your friend." Aurora blinked at her, flabbergasted. Today might not be such a bad day after all! "I'm Aurora, Dark Mirror senshi of romance," she purred with a huge smile. "And I would love to ship-- I mean, be your friend."

"Yaaaay!" Medea hugged her new friend. "But one of my friends told me to beware of Dark Court, so I have to fight you okay? It's the right thing, and it won't hurt too much."
She leapt away and turned from Aurora. Then she quickly faced her, feigning righteous fury. She pointed at the Senshi of Romance. "In the name of Destiny City, I, Sailor Medea, Senshi of Enchantment, must obliterate those who defy justice!"
She skipped toward Aurora, and smiling like a fool, and poked her in the shoulder. "POOOOOHKE."
Medea recoiled! Obviously her enemy cast some dark and evil spell over her shoulders! The fire! The ache! The burn! The enchantress spun around in mock-pain. "Oh nooo! Aurora is too strong! Clearly she is the most OP of all Senshi! I am slain!" She dropped onto her knees. "Don't hurt meee!"
Then she laughed.
She loved dramatics.

"Ahahahaha." Aurora blinked as the girl just went on up to her and gave her one of those friendly hugs. That was her a long time ago: just hug who-the-heck-ever, Order or Chaos. And it STILL could be her for the nice low cost of GETTING OVER IT. When Medea mentioned that she had to fight her anyway, the senshi of romance tensed up and nodded once. Oh SHOOT things were about to get real and go DOWN and she wasn't prepared for this. She bit her lower lip as Medea practiced her magical girl speech. POKE. And then suddenly Medea was slain. Or in pain. By some mystical power that Aurora didn't even know she unleashed. OF COURSE it was all just pretend, but for just a brief moment the whole "I'm actually a warrior of Chaos and Chaos might take over my body to slay somebody" came to mind. Would Chaos actually do that? Crap, that would be bad. "Ahahaha.. so.. yeah, I'm not really the most OP of the senshi. And the Dark Court has cookies... or something." She put on a meek smile. COME ON GOOD MOOD. Where did you go?! Aurora's eyes started to fill up with tears.

Oh no! Did she hurt Aurora's feelings?! Medea leapt up and said, "What's wrong, Aurora?! It's all pretend, silly girl!" She brought her friend into a quick hug. Even if Thraen and Zia warned her against Dark Mirror Senshi, but Aurora just looked so sad!
Maybe Aurora caught wind of the mean things Medea's faction said about Dark Mirror Senshi? That would really hurt! Medea's brow furrowed with worry. Why were people so mean?
"Sweetie, you know that I'm here for you right?" She laughed. "It's not like someone as kind and funny as you would hurt people or anything!"
Right?!
Aurora had to be good.

Aurora didn't know why that just happened. Why did her eyes fill with tears when she was supposed to be feeling happy and back in action? Was it too soon to return to all of this madness? Naw. Naw, it couldn't be. She sniffed and wiped her eyes with one of her long sleeves. "I'm s'pposed to hurt you. But no, naw, I'm not that kinda person. I'm really not!" She helplessly flailed her arms at her sides, even as Medea still held her in a hug. "So I dunno what to dooooo.."

"No, little birdie! Why are you flying away?" Medea released her from the hug. She clenched her fists and sighed. The last time she did this, her skin burned off, but she didn't want Aurora to face trouble because she really cared about Aurora! "If you're afraid of defying your superiors, you can fight me for real I guess...I can take it."
She covered her face. She felt sick.
"Just don't hit too hard or anything, okay? I have really sensitive skin."
Would Aurora do it? Medea hoped she wouldn't do it. That would suck, but then, it seemed like Aurora stood tons to lose if she didn't?
"Or you know we could talk about our feelings? You seem to have feelings. We could be secret friends who do things like that, you know? In secret. No one would know."
She whispered: "Secret."

Oooooh, secret. "Ahahaha," she started off, waving her hands that were hidden by her sleeves. "I don't, ah, hit people. Thanks... for the offer?" The senshi of romance paused a moment, trying to think. Thinking was hard. Usually she would just let all of those feelings rush out, but that could mean that she'd give up valuable information to the frienemy and she'd get in trouble for it. Then Medea would have to DIE because she KNEW TOO MUCH. Or at least, that's how they did things, right? Augh. "Uhm.. have you ever felt like you were really part of a group, but then all of the sudden things start happening and you're not quite sure anymore, but you probably can't do anything about it because your soul's like, permanently tainted and all that?" There. That made perfect sense, right? "Also, being a secret friend would be awesome." Her eyelids grew heavy with the romantic notions of friend-trysts. Ooooo.

Medea lowered her hands and raised an eyebrow.
"Your soul is tainted?" She grabbed Aurora's hands and stared deeply into her eyes. They looked soul-bearing! Those windows shone clear! "What did they do? Why would they say that? Whats happening, friend-o?"
She gave a light jump.
"And yay friendship!" She smiled. "I don't know Aurora, you seem to have a lot of good for someone with a tainted soul!"

"Uhm, yeah! That's what I'd think!" She agreed with her on that last part, nodding as the White Mooner gazed into her eyes. Not once had she ever felt a bad feeling in her heart or her soul. Well, maybe. Now she had to think and think hard. There had to be a few times where she thought bad thoughts. Thoughts that weren't meant to be thought by good people. The Dark Mirror senshi squinted as she wracked her brain for such realizations. Oh wait, she was gazing into her eyes. Was she.. Medea was gonna kiss her, wasn't she! Ah.. AHH.. AHHHHHHH.... The senshi of romance blushed and fidgeted. "A.. ahahahaha... in any case~ How is the senshi thing going for you did I say that's a nice outfit cuz it is..." But she couldn't stop gazing into Medea's eyes. The other girl would have to break eye contact first. Tee hee.

Medea matched Aurora's squint. Maybe...maybe she would invade her psyche through her eyes? No matter, she could out-squint her any day. She would squint the squintiest squint ever. Then Aurora blushed and Medea raised an eyebrow. Ooh. Squint plus eyebrow? How could she surpass that? No way would Aurora win now. Absolutely no way--
Then Aurora complimented her.
"Ahh--" Medea looked at the ground. She looked at the aky. "Ahhh--Thank you." She coughed. "Yours is nice...too?"
She brushed back a curl.
"Senshi life is, you know, difficult." She nodded. "Secret friendships make it...complicated." She laughed. "And things on your end...?"
