Her last visit to her home world still fresh in her mind, Orah took some time after school to wander by the park and sit on a bench, her booted feet stretched out in front of her.
What had Ida been like, before whatever it was had turned the place into a wasteland. With how lush things were starting to grow back, she suspected it had been a beautiful place once, full of thriving plant life. All the buildings and strange technology hinted at a world of science and advanced ideas that Earth hadn't reached yet... but unlike Earth, it was so empty now. What had made it that way?, She wondered. What could have potentially killed all of those people and really all life on the asteroid?
Pensive and reluctant to go home just yet, the girl pulled a bit of something out of her backpack and sat cradling it in her hands, turning it over and over as she let herself get lost in thought. It was unusual for her to be so introspective, but these were strange times... and she was changing, she could feel it. Hopefully, her family hadn't noticed it. She'd hate to worry them, or worse yet, get them involved in the dangerous world of Order and Chaos.
Pressing the little button on the front, Orah watched as the catch released and the compact popped open, showing a mess of what looked like roots or stems tangled up inside. What had this been for? Who had used it? Why had it stopped working? She had so many questions, and the few things she remembered only hinted at answers for them.

Cats could be such elusive creatures, moving about like ninjas, creeping about in the shadows without being noticed.
This was not the case for the cat named ********* had a cheery little silver bell upon her collar which chimed and jingled happily as she moved about.
So when the chubby manx had noticed a familiar face and began to make her way over to her location, she was not even remotely subtle about it. The whole time she trotted along until she hopped onto the bench, her collar announced her presence.
Soon enough Orah had company that was looking as intently at the odd compact as she seemed to be. "...well that's a fancy doo-dad!"

The jangle jangle of a collar bell drew the young girl's attention from her hand and she looked about curiously. Had someone's cat gotten loose? A pet owner herself, thoughts of lost kitties replaced thoughts of a ruined world... Up until the cat appeared and its identity was confirmed.
"*********! Hello!" Orah said as a smile spread across her face, straightening up to offer the guardian a scratch about the ears and cheeks. Attention drawn back to what she held, the girl shrugged sheepishly.
"It's something I found on Ida. Everything there is made out of plants, you know. I think that's why it's got all those root or vine bits inside. I think their computer stuff was actually made out of plants, but I have no idea how that's supposed to work. Nothing there does, no matter what buttons I push." She offered the cat a look inside the device, holding it out to her.
"I dunno... Am I not supposed to bring stuff back with me, or... Bring stuff there? Will crossing worlds, like... Unleash some kind of ancient plague?" Okay, maybe that was starting to sound a little scifi, but when you were talking about instant travel and crossing worlds, well... It was possible, and actually very much of a worry now that Orah thought of it.
Had she exposed her family and friends to danger?

Subtle purring and gradual leaning into the ear scratches happened.
However, the Mauvian's eyes were quickly drawn to the object and her ears easily perked up as Ida spoke of her theories about the item.
Eventually, the feline let out a small giggle. "So you have discovered your world, eh? I am pretty sure if the item isn't dangerous, then it doesn't hurt anybody to bring it back to Earth?" The feline's eyes didn't even seem to move from the object in the girl's hands.
"I mean... if you are concerned... maybe... hmmmm......." She closed her eyes briefly before perking up a bit.
A bench was a bit too "out in the open." So quite quickly, the manx hopped off the bench and scampered forward, glancing back as if to beckon the girl to follow her.

"Oh, yeah! I've been to Ida a few times now, it's a really pretty place, even if a lot of it is dead. It's just starting to sort of come back, because there is grass and flowers everywhere..."
Orah watched ********* watching the device, up until the cat decided it was time for a walk.
"*********!" The teen called after her as she rose and trotted to catch up. "Where are we going?" The second part was said in a much softer tone, the young girl hoping there was no one around to see her taking to the cat she was chaising after.
Obviously, ********* knew more about this than she did... Though Orah actually knew very little about the guardian, save that she had been active before Ida awoken. There was a lot she suspected had happened before her time and she often wondered about it. All three of her teammates had been eternals before she had ever met them, so she was trying very hard to be as knowledgeable and capable as possible... So she wasn't a dead weight to them.

The destination was not a very mystical one, but it would give the Mauvian a bit more covering. She kept to the sidewalk, and soon enough she would be approaching a small concrete construction that was meant to serve as a restroom. ********* paused at the entrance and glanced in, making certain nobody was around before glancing back to Orah. With that, she trotted in.
When Orah entered, she'd find there was no longer a cat, but a cat-earred girl with a top hat waiting for her.
"Would you be opposed to me borrowing this for a bit? I promise I will return it to you!" The voice of this strange girl sounded just like the voice that belonged to the usually chubby cat.

It was odd that ********* would take her off like this to somewhere less visible. Last time had been, more or less out in the open, though the teen realized now that had been a bad thing. If someone had seen them... but whatever. What was done was done, after all.
The restroom looked a little shady, but Orah trusted the guardian who had upgraded her and followed her more or less fearlessly into the building to see just what it was she had in mind... The little girl she stumbled upon startled her and she jerked to a stop to stare for a moment.
The words 'Oh, excuse me, have you seen a cat come by here?' died when she spoke with ********* voice and Orah's eyes widened.
"*********? Is that you? What... How did you... can all the guardian's do that?" She said as she studied the transformation, wandering closer. It was disconcerting to see her like this... while similar, it was a shocking difference from the little manx she had known before. At the same time, it was sort of exciting too. Being able to transform into a human... ish, form was a pretty cool ability.
"How come you don't just stay like that all the time? Oh! Sorry, I mean, do you prefer being a cat more?" Remembering the question suddenly, the girl blushed and brought herself back to reality. "Oh, yeah, go right ahead. Its just sort of space junk, you know? I just sort of felt sentimental about it. I was wondering what it might have been used for and stuff."

The silvery haired girl swiveled upon the ball of her bare foot, twirling about in a playful manner. "All of the guardians have the potential to do this trick... but not all of them are able to do such from the get-go!"
She extended a cuffed hand towards the brunette, leaning back slightly as if beckoning Orah to share the object.
"...I don't stay like this for too long because I leak too much energy like this... for brief moments, it is okay, but if I stay like this too long, I will be swarmed with youma."

Orah laughed as she nodded, giving the human-looking ********* another once over.
"Wow, that's really cool... I didn't know guardians could do that! Luring Youma doesn't sound like much fun, but being able to transform like that is probably pretty handy sometimes." She said. Realizing the extended hand was asking for the thing she had found, she handed it over, tucking stray roots into it before closing it up and placing it in the small hand.
"Are you going to do something with it? It looks like its really old and I've never seen anything anywhere that's quite like the things I find on Ida..." Thinking about Ida reminded her of all the comforting things there, of the aura of the place... which in turn reminded her of why she needed such a place and a memento of it to remind her of that feeling. A thought occurred to her and the teen shuffled her feet, her hands clasped behind her back.
"I know I probably thanked you before when you upgraded me, but I really want to thank you again for everything you said to me that day. It was... well, life changing for me. You helped me get out of the bad place I'd fallen into, and on top of that, helped me find what I feel is my purpose. I've made a lot of friends because of it, and even joined a team. We're making it our mission to find new senshi and knights and guide them, teaching them what to do and how to protect themselves... so no one else has to stumble along like I did." She smiled shyly. "You're amazing, *********, but not everyone has someone like you to set them on the right path."

Once the object in question was in her palm, the Mauvian lifted up her hat with her other hand.
In a playful tone, she announced "Okay, time for a trick!"
With her hand holding the odd relic, she placed it upon the top of her head of silvery hair between her feline ears.
"Now you see it!" she exclaimed.
With a momentary pause, she then planted her hat back firmly upon her head, lodging her ears in the proper holes. Once it was in place again, the odd girl rather suddenly shrank back down. Within moments, she was no longer a girl, but instead a cat again, no hat, no clothing save for the collar about her neck.
"Now you don't!"
With a proud purr, she settled in and listened to the brunette's expression of gratitude. Perhaps it wasn't the most humble thing to say, but in a teasing manner, she cooed out "Well, I am pretty aware that I am amazing, but thank you for confirming it, Orah!"
With that, she padded forward and slid herself against the girl's ankles. "Let me see what I can come up with... I'll send you a message when I get a chance to take a better look at your relic. Okay?"

Orah bent low to stroke ********* back as the small body rubbed against her shins.
"That's a pretty neat trick! I wonder where stuff goes when you transform like that... but I trust you. Feel free to take whatever time you need with it. I'm sure I could find more stuff on Ida to have as a keepsake, if I really needed to. That one was just really neat and easy to carry around."
Which sort of reminded her about what she had been doing, and what time it was. She'd spent enough time loitering around, she really needed to get home and start dinner or her family was going to come poking about, wondering what was going on.
"I need to get home, I think. I've spent enough time putting off my chores. Like you said, you know how to contact me. And feel free to call me any time, too, for any reason. If you ever need something, I'd be happy to help." The teen gave ********* an extra scratch behind the ears before she straightened up and brushed off her skirt.
Trotting to the door, Orah offered a wave before she slipped out. "Talk to you soon!" She called back with a smile.
