Upon entering the shrine, Wyng immediately noticed something was wrong. One of the three goddess statues was missing from the pedestal! Looking around, Wyng found the final statue, but it was moving and had some weird wires surrounding it. Wyng cautiously approached the goddess, her curiosity almost completely overcoming her caution, and when she came near, the goddess handed her a drawstring bag with a key attached to one of the drawstrings. Confused as to what it is for, Wyng looks it over until the goddess tells her to open it up, which she does.
When the bag turns out to be empty, Wyng is both confused and curious. The goddess, on the other hand, seems to be upset and instantly sets about rectifying the situation, which Wyng understands completely. It must be embarrassing to give a gift, only to find it empty. Then understanding turned again to confusion at the goddess' instructions. She wants you to use scissors to cut out a heart? How could you do that? She'd have to get through the flesh first. Then Wyng wondered why the act of removing the heart did not revile her at all. She guessed that it was just another thing that she did not remember.
Since this is a request for a goddess, though not her goddess, she thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and help her, so Wyng turned to leave, receiving a smile as she did so.
Upon exiting the room with the pedestals, Wyng notices only two things: the darkness and a low steady "thunk" sound. While wondering what the sound was, Wyng wondered up to three doors. One had a pumpkin, one had a scarred marking, and one had an upside down looking tree. Not trusting the other two, Wyng decided to choose the pumpkin door.

Passing through the doors with the pumpkin on them, Wyng briefly wondered what lay behind the other doors, or if she had picked the right door. After all, what she needed could be behind any of the doors. Then she started to hear a strange, yet familiar, light humming. For a moment she remembers being in a pumpkin patch full of small pumpkins, happily smiling and glowing pumpkins.
Trying to figure out why she suddenly remembers this, Wyng does not notice at first that the humming has stopped. When she does note the absence of sound, she looks around quizzically, as if she could find whomever stopped humming. She did not find the source of the humming, but, when she was looking around, she suddenly started hearing voices. These voices seem familiar, like something she has heard before, something warm and loving. Unconsciously, Wyng starts heading off towards the voices smiling as she does so. At least until the door slams shut behind her.
When the door slams shut all of the sudden the memory of the pumpkins becomes real, the entire area illuminates, and Wyng finds herself standing in the middle of the patch. The pumpkins seem to have a path through them, one end is leading back towards where she came in, but the other end leads further in. Confused, Wyng decides to follow the path further in until she reaches a wide open, very peaceful field, covered entirely in glowing orange flowers. The glow from the flowers makes it very easy to see that in the center of the field is a single solitary tombstone.
Approaching the tombstone she says it reads HERE LIES SERENA in bright orange letters. It is surrounded with small yellow flowers that have dried with age. Obviously placed there by someone who cared for whomever was in the grave. Examining the tombstone closer, Wyng hears the sound of a heartbeat below the stone. Suddenly you realize that the goddess wants you to be a grave robber, but her loyalty to the goddesses caused her to not care about something she normally would have reviled.
Wyng carefully pushes away the flowers and the dirt until the heart is uncovered and examines the heart. It is glowing a steady yellow the same color as the goddess who set her on this task. It is also still beating. Curious as to why this is, Wyng goes to remove it as instructed and then she remembers something. She remembers looking up into a warm smiling face that could not see more happy to see her and she remembers being held close yet gently, as if she were the most precious thing in the world to this person. Still reveling in the memory, Wyng finishes removing the heart and places it in the bag.

Still confused about what was going on, Wyng turned to walk back to the shrine. As she walked, she noticed the ground becoming more and more mushy, as if the ground were slowly turning into a soupy mud. After a while she realizes that that is exactly what is happening and, upon that realization, she reaches a dead end. Even more confused she looks over the dead end for the door until she hears a sloshing noise, and then footsteps behind her.
Wary, she immediately whips around to find...nothing. Confused, Wyng turns back around and now there is nothing but water in front of her. Perplexed, she heads forward, not fearing anything from the water. Water has always been her friend. Why does she believe that? It does not really matter, so Wyng continues onward into the increasingly deep and cold water.
Then, again, she hears something from behind her. "Please give it back." Whipping around, she again sees nothing. After staring for a couple minutes, trying to find the source of the voice, Wyng turns back around and again continues. When the water reaches her neck she stops. She knows for most this would mean that they have to turn back, but the water should not hurt her right? While contemplating this, she once again hears a voice behind her. "Please give me back my-" and then suddenly, two hands grab hold of her pushing her down into the water. Why couldn't she breathe, she should be able to breathe underwater! That thought came unbidden, but she knew it to be true. This was impossible, or at least improbable. She continued to be pushed down, unable to struggle, till she felt like she would fade entirely, and then she caught sight of the being pushing her down. The figure looked like her only older and more mature and it had deep, glassy grey eyes, and was baring sunken teeth.
This was her mother. She remembered how dearly she loved her mother even as she remembered how her mother had set off in search of her father leaving her behind and alone.
"Give me back my heart."
She had taken the heart of the person dearest to her.

Sorrowfully, Wyng rationalizes that it has come down to her or her mother. Wyng knows that she must exist for the Blessings and the goddesses, but even knowing that what must come next is a painful decision. Maybe, she thinks, when she is a goddess she can return for her mother and save her. That thought bolstering her, she takes her only weapon, the scissors, and plunges the scissors into the form of her mother.
When that happens, her mother's form shrieks and disappears, as does all of the water. Coughing and sputtering a bit, Wyng is aware of the growing brightness and turns seeing an open door. Heaving a sigh of relief, Wyng gratefully heads for the door only casting one glance back. In that one glance, she's sure she saw her mother's form standing there glaring at her holding the scissors.
Tearfully, Wyng heads back to the shrine.

~~~~~Day 2~~~~~
Hearing that they all were being called back to the shrine, Wyng happily, but not without apprehension, returned to the shrine. When she entered, she noticed that the statue of Ruin, her goddess, was moving. "You cannot escape forever." She told Wyng, while still perched on her pedestal. Contemplatively, Ruin had run one hand gently across her scythe. "You must face your Fears. Eat or be eaten. That is the way of it here. Were it another time... I wonder which one you would be?" she asks. Then Ruin dropped down from her pedestal and approached Wyng, proceeding to circle her and look her over. "I wonder indeed. Perhaps we shall solve this little mystery? Take this." She said as she handed Wyng a small jeweled dagger. It was a simple blade set with a stone, and from it dangled what looked to be a small claw of some sort."That should be more than enough," Ruin continued "You will need to learn to fend for yourself, to take on your challenges and judge for yourself what it means to sacrifice. That is the only way you will become stronger, else you'll fall prey to someone greater still." As she spoke, the blade of the knife began to rust, stained with a dark color reminiscent of Ruin. "You are ready." She announced, gesturing with her scythe. "Go." Her bright glowing eyes stared into Wyng and followed her as she obeyed her goddess' instruction. After Wyng had left the building, she could swear that she still felt that gaze. Then suddenly, she blacked out.
Wyng woke up feeling cold, not remembering that she had blacked out. Feeling beneath her, she felt something very firm. Upon some examination she found out that it was a metal table. Confused she started looking around, the first thing she noticed being that the lights in the room were exceedingly bright compared to the greys she was used to. Examining the room, all she saw were the four white walls, one has a door in it, surrounding her and the white ceiling with the white lights. Where was she and what was up with all of the white?
Taking a few unsteady steps, Wyng proceeded to the door. Checking the door, she found it unlocked. Curiouser and curiouser, she thought.
Upon stepping out into the hallway, she found it to be as bright as the room had been. After taking a few steps outside of the room she heard the sound of something slamming shut. Immeadetly spinning on her heels, Wyng looked back the way she came and saw the the door she had walked through was still open. Curious as to what could have made the noise, Wyng decided to examine the room again.
There was still nothing inside.
Continuing slowly and cautiously onward, Wyng noted that the halls seemed to stretch into infinity, that was until she finally saw an exit in the distance. Not liking feeling caged, Wyng happily started towards the exit
Thud.
Wyng once again turned around. The door that she had left was still open. There was noone behind her, just white lights. Confused she turned back around.
Thud.
Wyng looked behind herself again.
It was watching her.
The first thing she heard was the steady thudding of footsteps against the perfectly polished floor. She could hear a strange noise, a sharp scraping noise. In one of its blackened hands it carried a pair of rusted scissors.
Thud. Screech. Thud. Screech.
It approached closer.
When it did so, Wyng thought process went a little something like this:
She moved as fast as her legs would allow her to. The world was spinning. All she could hear outside of her panicked breath and her Heart, that would not stop beating furiously, was the steady thud of a figure, cast in shadows, walking behind her. Finally, she reached the door.
It was locked.
There were bright red letters written onto the handlebar of the door: Passcode required.
A 9 digit number pad was stuck right onto the door at face level. She needed the code.
Noticing a piece of paper on her left, Wyng grabbed it.
A=0, B=1, C=2
Analyzing every possible option of what it could be Wyng finally concluded that this must be the way to decode some code, but this did her no good if she did not also have the code. What if the code it decoded was not the one needed to open the door. Panicking a little, Wyng stuffed the paper in her pocket. As she did so she heard from behind her: "Come here, lassie, Ah wouldnae hurt ye..."
Examining to her left again, Wyng found that the note she had tucked into her pocket had reappeared. Checking her pocket, she found that the note was still where she had put it. How had it replaced itself? What was going on?
As she panicked over the reappearing note, the figure called out: "Ignore the weapons lassie, Ah wouldnae hurt ye."
Tripping over herself while searching, Wyng landed against the doors. Feeling them give a little, she decided to push harder at them. It did not matter, they'd give a little but they would not budge.
Seeing this the follower called out "Did ye think ye cud find the code when ye cudnae find yer maw?"
Having no clue what it meant, she continued her search.
Wyng checked to her left again, maybe she had missed something. So she looked around again, but all she could was the same note as before. What could it mean? What could it mean?
The figure merely chuckled behind her.
A C E G.
If you roll a 2 AND A 4: (Any order) - You put together the sequence. You enter 0, 2, 4, 5 into the number pad. The door slides open. With a final burst of energy, you escape. Proceed to the next post below for the second set of prompts.
Searching one last time to her left, Wyng looked under the paper that had regenerated before and found a different paper.
A C E G.
Wait a moment, she thought as she pulled out the other paper from her pocket. Comparing the two, she noted that the new paper had to be the code, meaning the first paper had to be the decoder. Using this knowledge, Wyng typed 0 2 4 5 into the number pad, after all that's what she had gotten from the two papers.
Click.
The door unlocked. She was free. She could get away from that creepy figure! Running outside, Wyng was glad to see something in a color she was used to, grey trees. They could hide her from the figure! That is, if it was still following her...
If you roll a 2: The bridge is rickety and old. As you step on one of the boards, it breaks under your feet. You hastily try to tug your foot out. It is stuck. The figure closes in on you, they are almost behind you. You must make a choice (simply icly choose one of these two options)
1) Stay and try to get your foot out: . The next thing you know you hear steady thumps on the bridge followed by loud snipping noises. You turn around, and they are right behind you. GAME OVER (move to the game over prompt above).
2) Take your rusted dagger and slice your snagged foot off: Each moment of it hurts. Your first cleave does not properly slice your foot off, instead, leaving it half dangling, grey fog escaping the ends. Your second attempt finally pulls though. With one stump of a leg, you hobble. Thankfully, your foot is regenerating already, but not fast enough. You can hear the snip snip snip of the figure directly behind you, almost breathing against your back.
Finally reaching the trees, Wyng looked to see if the figure was still behind her.
It was still steadily following her.
Turning back around, Wyng darted through the trees as fast as she could. Always, from behind, she heard the figure. There was always the loud crunching of its footsteps on the leaves and occasionally, through the loud crunching, she could hear the steady snipping sound of its scissors.
Every once in a while it says something, somehow managing to both sound quiet and be heard over the sound of its footsteps at the same time.
"There's nothing tae be feart o."
Ye can trust me."
Ah chust want ma hert...
Yers wid do tae...
Gie me yer hert!
Finding a rickety bridge ahead Wyng decided to cross it to escape from the figure, which evidently now wanted her heart. She would not give up her heart, the goddesses needed her for something and she would fulfill it!
She had not taken more than a few steps when one of the boards snaps beneath her foot. Instead of breaking loose, the board only broke where her foot was, trapping it. She tried to tug it out a few times, but noted that it was VERY stuck.
At this point, she knew that it would take time to get her foot out of the bridge, time she did not have, meaning her foot would have to come off. Grabbing her rusted dagger, she attempted to cut off her trapped foot. It was excruciatingly painful. Her first cleave was unable to properly slice her foot off, but the second cleave does. With a stump of a leg left, Wyng continued across the bridge, hobbling because of her leg. Luckily, the blessings of the goddesses was still with her and her leg started regenerating almost immediately.
Behind her she could hear the snip snip snip of the figure directly behind her, almost breathing against her back.
Wyng was about halfway over the bridge, when she encountered another rotten board. Again, instead of breaking away beneath her, it trapped her foot. Was this bridge really meant to be a trap?
After tugging at her foot a couple times and finding out that it was indeed stuck, Wyng decided she'd have to use the same tactic as last time. Gritting her teeth, Wyng slashed at her foot, only cutting it half off. Yowling in pain, Wyng despaired that this sort of thing did not get any easier with repetition, but then again, it was not supposed to was it?
Slashing a second time, Wyng hobbled off, one of her feet mostly regenerated and the other a regenerating stump, bleeding bits of shadow.
She could hear the snip snip snip of the figure's scissors directly behind her, it was relentless. Without looking back, she could tell it was still behind her. It felt like it was almost breathing against her back.
Excited that she was close to the other end of the bridge, Wyng forgot to watch her footing, and once again, put her, now fully regenerated, foot through another board. After checking and finding it stuck again, Wyng cursed. How many feet was she going to have to cut off? Bracing herself for the inevitable pain, she hacked at her leg. Like before, it took two slashes to free her self.
Barely managing to hobble after cutting off one of her feet for a second time, Wyng continued on as fast as she could. She could not let that thing take her heart. She needed it. This thought bracing her, she ambled on, hearing the snip snip snip of the figure behind her, it had to be on the bridge already, because it felt as if it was breathing against her back.
